It's kinda weird (and kind of not weird) that Carrie knew better than Jason- I hope that made sense. For some reason Carrie's question to Kelly, about asking what she expected, seemed weird. Not weird in a bad way, but strange. She knows that Kelly wasn't dealing with the fact that Alex was going to die, so it just seems strange unless she's trying to get Kelly to talk. Good update, very interesting. btw Alex parent's suck.

Alex's parents are a bunch of douchebags. Ahhh, the ending was so good. 10 points to Carrie for reading the signals right and not leaving Kelly by herself.

That update was great. Alex's parents are unbelievable! Grrr. I'm glad Kelly spoke up without holding back. So, at the end when she went off on them. I had a moment: was Alex supposed to be a representation of Kelly's childhood? I mean, they were both 6 years old when major events happened in their lives. Both were abandoned in a way...Alex was meant to be the catalyst to help her heal? (If that makes sense....) Or am I just reading too much into this? :) In any event, I cannot wait to read more. For the record, I *heart* double updates!

Evil parents on the loose! Man, I did not see that coming, I think I missed a few chapters too, because all of a sudden Alex's gone. That's so sad, she was a cute little thing, but I guess I could've seen it coming. Carrie's being seriously supporting, even when she's feeling pain herself, and Kelly just breaking my heart, Alex was like her world or something. It's heartwrenching to read about her pain, but it sounds real, you know, her world has collapsed. I wonder how the other kids feel, like Luke. But man, that lawyer's probably gonna sell the story to the media or something and I don't think it's gonna be pretty. Or maybe not, it's your story, but it just seems like that's gonna happen...

These last few chapters haven't exactly been a walk in the park for these characters but it's all been so beautifully written I don't know how I could not love it. This has also been one of the few times I've actually teared up while reading a story. So heartbreaking, yet so beautiful. You got me right in the heart especially with the chapter before this one. Kelly's reaction was pretty true to her character. And in this chapter I LOVE that Carrie left and then came back and just comforted her. But yeah the whole thing was powerful, like I felt it and I understood it. Good stuff.

That was hearbreakingly beautiful. I hope they get through this together. I'm still at the edge of my seat waiting to see where it goes...can't wait to read more.

I'm glad that update was a little bit lighter than the last. It was sad that Kelly cried herself to sleep, but it was good that she ended up letting Carrie stay. Although it was sad/touching when Carrie repeated what Kelly always said to Alex when putting her down. I hope Carrie gets a chance to go through her grief with someone. I'm sure it's hitting her in a couple different ways. I wouldn't be surprised if she backs off from Kelly. Such a bittersweet, but still sweet update.
