Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. I do not know the members of DBSK. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
a/n: This will be a het lemon between Yoochun (Micky) and my original character Adrienne later on, once the plot is more developed. It won't really add anything in terms of plot development, but I thought that DBSK needed some smutty love. They are OCC so to speak, not in a band or anything, and their ages have been evened out to the nice legal age of 18! enjoy, leave comments, not flames (don't make me break out my whip...seriously I have one.) ^_^ I also am not intimately familiar with the interworkings of korean society or social norms for that matter, so if my info is less than accurate, oh well, use your imagination. Also, it's safe to assume that when she is in Korea, she's speaking Korean. Also, her mother along with everyone else who is Korean, call her Min, but in the narration, she is still Adrienne.
disclaimer for the hell of it : I, much to my utter disappointment, do not own DBSK or anything entitled to them. I just use them in my stories to live out my fantisies. It's fiction people!
onward!

Life in General
Prolouge
Life…well, it’s life…C’est la vie... My best friend growing up always said “Life is what you make it,” I usually would just nod in agreement, but I suppose it never really sank in. I suppose I like to believe in fate…that everything happens for a reason without any interference on my part. Maybe life is predetermined…and maybe it isn’t…but all I can say is…I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Adrienne Min Landon, also known as Min by her mother, was fortunate enough to be blessed with being born to an American father and a Korean mother. Scratch that…unfortunate…unfortunate would be a better choice of words…according to Adrienne, at least. She was the only one of her kind, at least that she knew. She had never met another person who was half Korean. It seems that the majority stuck to their own kind, for a lack of better words. She wasn’t really accepted by the local Korean community. Though she didn’t mind, being as young and resilient as she was. She felt worse for her mother, who seemed to miss being close to her roots.
Growing up in America probably helped…she never really felt too ostracized since she grew up on a military base…or as she liked to call it: an ethnic grab bag. Either way, she was happy with her life in America. She had a handful loyal, loving friends, school had been a breeze and she lived by the beach. The only thing missing was her dad. Her dad had been killed in a training accident a couple of years ago. Other than that…what more could a girl ask for.
Maybe for life to cut her a break once and a while….
Chapter 1
“Adrienne…wake up……WAKE UP!!!” Adrienne’s groan was muffled by a quick whack to the face by a feather pillow. “Leave me alone…” she grumbled as she rolled over, just dodging another assault by her friend. Nicole, Adrienne’s life time friend, was currently standing over her, clutching a pillow in frustration. “Why do you insist on being so difficult?” she asked as she threw the now useless pillow unceremoniously to the floor. Huffing her blond bangs out of her eyes, Nicole grabbed the scarlet comforter by Adrienne’s feet, removed it with one good yank and tossed it on the floor to join its place with the pillow. “Stop being annoying and get out of bed and make me breakfast” she yelled as she made her way out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen. Adrienne shuddered slightly as the cool air hit her pajama clad body. Glaring from behind her own thick auburn bangs, she sighed, “You are SO lucky you’re my best friend.”
Without bothering to change from her current attire or tame her unruly hair, she made her way into the kitchen to find Nicole already sitting at the modest round wooden table, drinking a glass of orange juice and reading Adrienne’s new issue of Cosmo magazine. “Anything good in that issue?” she asked as she rummaged through the pot rack over the kitchen island. Finding the small fry pan she was looking for, she began collecting ingredients to make her and Nicole’s normal Saturday morning breakfast. “Oh you know, the usual…” she replied as she flicked through a couple pages. “You would think that they would get tired of rewriting the same article over and over again,” she added. Adrienne nodded as she cracked a couple eggs into her now heated fry pan.
“Hey…get your butt over here and help me…this is no free ride you know.” Nicole grimaced and shuffled towards Adrienne by the stove. “You know better than anyone that I’m a horrible cook,” she commented as she peeked over Adrienne’s shoulder. “Mmm smells good.” Adrienne popped her infamous smirk like smile and her deep green eyes flashed mischievously. . “I never said anything about cooking…” she laughed as she piled a few dishes into Nicole’s arms. Pointing to the sink, she grinned, “You wash, I cook, and then we eat. Move it or lose it sister.” The blond pulled a small pout and reluctantly started washing any nearby dishes. Adrienne finished cooking their meal and piled eggs; bacon and some wheat toast on a couple of plates and set them on the table before making her way to her stereo. She popped in a couple of new Asian pop cds that her grandmother sent her for her birthday. Humming along with the catchy song that started play, she sat down and began to dig into her breakfast.
“Why do you insist on listening to music you don’t even understand?” Nicole asked as she shoveled some eggs into her mouth, “Ifs mot efen fat good emyway” she mumbled as she added a bite of bacon to the mix. “Adrienne swallowed and narrowed her eyes, “For your information, I do know what they are saying…did you forget, I learned Korean from my mother and Japanese during the three years my dad was stationed in Japan…and don’t insult my taste in music…I don’t complain about yours,” she smuggly took another bite of her eggs and continued humming. As Nicole polished off her breakfast, she tried not to giggle, “You only like them because they are cute…admit it,” she poked her friend in the side in attempts to get her to confess. The brunette let out a short laugh, “I left behind my fangirly ways when I hit puberty,” Adrienne nodded as she handed her plate over to Nicole. “Just for that, you get to finish cleaning,” She grinned as she made her way up the stairs. Stopping short she leaned back and yelled back to her friend, “Give me a bit and we will go shopping.”
After a quick shower, Adrienne threw one some jeans and one of her favorite shirts, fluffed her hair and made her way back downstairs. “Ready to….go?” Adrienne paused and took a couple quick glances around to find herself alone in her living room. She caught a glimpse of a small piece of pink paper taped to her car keys hanging on the wall. Snatching it down, she pulled out her glasses and quickly read the note Nicole had left for her.
Adrienne,
Your mom called while you were in the shower, she said that she needed help down at the shop…apparently there is some big to do going on and everyone and their dog (seriously someone bought a flower for their dog) came in wanted flowers, bouquets you name it. Since you take forever to get ready, I told her that I would help her until you showed up. So, I assume I will see you shortly, btw breakfast was delicious, per usual.
Much love,
Nicky
“Maaaaan it’s my day off!” Adrienne whined as she grabbed her keys and traded her glasses for her sunglasses. At least this gives me an excuse to drive my new car…thank the gods for wealthy grandparents! Adrienne slid into the front seat of her new little convertible. Apparently this was her grandparent’s idea of a graduation present…and she approved whole-heartedly. Putting down the top and turning on her stereo, she quickly made her way to her mom’s shop.
Sliding into a parking spot behind the small, peach tinted building, Adrienne noted the overwhelming amount of cars around, Making her way through the back door, she was nearly run over by one of her mother’s new employee’s carrying a rather large (and ostentatious, she might add) bouquet of flowers. She heard a faint “sorry” as the girl disappeared into the next room. Tying an apron around her waist, she waded through the mass of people who were stationed in front of the main counter.
“Holy…what happened?” she asked as she took a couple of vases that were thrust into her general direction. Peeking around the vases, her eyes fell on her rather disheveled mother. “I don’t ask questions, I just make beautiful flower arrangements.” she replied, handing a customer his change. “Thanks for coming down, I know it’s your day off, but I really appreciate it.” She added as she continued to distribute peoples’ orders. Adrienne shrugged, “I didn’t have any concrete plans, besides in a couple weeks, you and I won’t be able to share moments like this anymore…well at least not until we get settled in Korea. Adrienne frowned slightly as she glanced at Nicole, who was currently flirting with a young man picking out a dozen roses.
After a few hours and thousands of flowers later, the store was empty of people and…everything else it seemed. Adrienne collapsed into a chair and brushed her slightly damp bangs out of her face. “That…was insane….” she breathed as she turned to her mother, who looked like she had just been through a hurricane. “Yeah, I don’t think I will really miss days like this…” she replied with a slight smile, “We made so much money today; I think that this calls for a celebration. How about I take you and Nicole out for dinner, your pick.” She smiled and ruffled her daughter’s hair, “That is, if you have the energy.” Adrienne chuckled as she caught Nicole’s head pop out from behind a door..obviously excited about the news, “Food…I heard food…and free food at that, I’m in!”
