• Disclaimer: they are their own people, this is just a fic. Hell if I could have a couple of them for a few days it would be nice, but they are very much real and it wouldn’t be feasible.
  
  The rain came down with such force and intensity that it almost seemed as if the rain was coming from a never ending source of water. At least it appeared that way to Joshua as he walked back home from his nightly patrol. From both sides he could feel the violence of the rain as it hit his body. He should be rushing to get home, but he wasn’t in a hurry to get home.
  
  His patrol had not been an easy one. The first two vampires he had managed to dust with no problems. It was the third vampire of the patrol that had been a problem. It had taken him nearly thirty minutes to dust the third vampire. During those thirty minutes he had thrown everything he could find at the vampire. Everything that had included stones, stakes, knives and even a rusty piece of pipe. The vampire had managed to knock him to the ground twice, crack three of his ribs and give him what he knew would be a colourful set of bruises. In the end it was sheer dumb luck that had killed the vampire. A car riel of all things was what had ended the vampire’s undead life.
  
  He hurt all over, but he was still in no rush to get home. He knew Justin was home with the rest of nysnc and he couldn’t face any one at the moment. One thought kept running though his mind. Justin’s going to kill me. Then with a small bitter laugh he realised that he really had nothing to fear from Justin. Justin was a normal human, he was the slayer. Justin did have one hold over him, but it was love.
  
  “I must be mad to keep doing this,” Joshua said. Great now he was talking to himself, yet another sign of his slow descent into madness.
