Grey smoke drifted from full lips as he leaned back on the barstool, booted feet propped up on the counter. A slim figure in a short red skirt and tank top ducked under his feet, heaving a tired sigh.
"That last table in the corner there's getting a bit rowdy." the seated man said, arms crossing over his chest.
Bou shrugged and hopped up onto the bar counter. "They're loud, but I can handle them for now." Hot pink nails raked through thin, bleached blonde hair. "But I promise, if they start getting too touchy-feely, I'll be sure to let you know."
Kirito reached back and stubbed out his cigerette in the ashtry by the register he was leaning against. "How long do you think it'll take them to realize you have a dick?"
The very feminine young man grinned, his painted lips parting into an easy smile. "As drunk as they are? I'm pretty sure the possibility hasn't even crossed their minds."
Kirito lowered his feet and stood, grabbing Bou's knobby knees. Forcing them apart, he stepped between his legs and kissed the younger man, quick but tenderly.
"It's nearly time to close anyway, so go tell them they need to finish up." He pulled the smaller man off the bar, hands lingering a moment on the thin fabric barely covering Bou's narrow hips. "I'm going to start running the dirty glasses to the back. Yell if you need anything."
Bou nodded and ducked under the partition, making his way first to turn off the jukebox, then gather the dirty dishes from the few remaining patrons. Kirito watched him a moment, the young man moving easily from person to person, then began gathering glasses from behind the counter, stacking them on a metal tray. Once he had enough, he walked through the swinging doors and carried them carefully to the sink. As he began unloading them one by one, the sounds of glass breaking and angry shouts drifted in from the dinning room. He threw the rest of the dishes into the sink and took off running.
Half a dozen men and women were all bunched together at the back of the bar. One particularly large, drunk man had his meaty hands around Bou's shoulders, shaking the man back and forth like a rag doll. Kirito leapt over the counter, jogging across the large room, fists clenched, mouth pulled back in a snarl.
"Now you listen here, you little-" his face suddenly whipped to the side as Kirito's fist connected with his jaw. He fell backwards onto the floor, eyes spinning.
"Keep your hands off him," Kirito snarled, dark eyes blazing, "and get the fuck out of my bar."
The fallen man's friends began to shout and grumble until the bouncer, Hatsu, appeared behind the enraged man, heavily muscled arms folded over his massive chest.
"Are we going to have a problem here?" the ex-sumo wrestler boomed, his square head towering over everyone else. Yoshiki, the bar owner, appeared behind him, a metal baseball bat in one hand.
The remaining patrons grumbled, but no one made any more violent moves. Instead, they collected their confused comrade, tossed a few crumpled bills on the table and left, every once in awhile darting angry glares over their shoulders. Hatsu folled them until everyone was gone, then locked and bolted the front door.
Kirito turned towards Bou, his face still flushed with adreniline,"Are you ok?" he asked, touching the trembling man tenderly on the cheek. "He didn't hurt you, did he?"
Bou shook his head, eyes downcast. "I'm ok, he just scared me." Then his eyes grew wide. "You're bleeding!"
Kirito snorted as Bou grabbed his hand, examining the red knuckles. "Well, that guy was built like a damned brick wall." He chuckled as the other man fussed over his wound. "Really, it's nothing."
Bou kissed his broken knuckles gingerly, then ran off. "I'll find a wet towel or something!" he called over his shoulder. Kirito just smiled, shaking his head, and went in search for a broom to clean up the broken glass on the floor.
"Kirito." Yoshiki poked his head out of the office he'd retreated to after the incident. "As soon as you get a chance, I need to speak with both you and Bou, please."
The dark haired young man sighed, but nodded. He waved for the other man to follow him and they entered the owner's office nestled in the corner of the bar.
Kirito sat down on the small, worn out sofa against one wall as Bou sat on the arm, handing him a towel and ice for his hand.
"I won't keep you long," Yoshiki promised, looking up from his L-shaped desk. "I know it's been a long, day and we'd all just like to get home."
"If this is about me hitting that drunk guy," Kirito started, teeth clenched, "He had is hands on Bou-"
Yoshiki waved a dismissive hand infront of his face. "No, no, it has nothing to do with that. I understand why you did what you did." His face grew stern. "And though I don't approve of decking paying customers," he smiled, "He was attacking Bou, and you needed to protect him." He leaned back in his chair. "Besides, I knew what kind of temper you had when I first met you, what, 5 years ago?"
Bou placed a hand on his lover's shoulder, squeezing it gently. "So what was it that you wanted, Yo-sama?"
The much older man leaned forward, elbows propped up on his desk. "I have an .. odd request." He picked up a small picture frame in front of him, holding it tenderly between large hands.
"I know you both have heard me talk about my family over the years, and how my ex-wife moved back in with her family.
"Yeah, the Unisted States, wasn't it?" Bou said.
"Correct. She took our son along with her." He looked up, a bright smile on his stress-lined face. "But, I'm happy to announce, he's coming back! I haven't seen him in more than seven years, but he's moving to Japan, to live with me for awhile until he finds a place of his own. Or, for as long as he wants. I don't mind. Why you boys have to grow up so fast and move away is beyond me.." he shook his head.
The two younger men exchanged amused looks. "That's great!" Bou exclaimed. "When is he coming?"
"At the end of the week." He set the photo back down in its place of honor on his desk. "My request from the two of you is to show him around the district, get him used to how things work in Japan. He hasn't been here in many years, since he was in the 6th grade, and I don't really know how well he's kept up with his heritage." His face sobered, eyes turning downcast. "I don't want to smother him, make him feel like I'm watching his every move." He looked up. "But I thought if you guys might try to befriend him, get him to open up and relax, things would be easier, for both of us."
The two younger men exchanged another glance, then Kirito nodded. "Sure, I don't think that'll be a problem." He dabbed the cloth on his injured hand. "Just as long as it doesn't take away from our time here."
You smiled gratefully. "Oh, don't worry about that. I'll be sure to add a little something extra in your paystub for you." He breathed a sigh of relief. "I really do appriciate your help. I want to do everything I can to make him happy, and I trust you guys. Thank you."
Kirito and Bou bowed their heads low. "You've done so much for all of us over the years." the darker one said. "This is nothing."
They stood and headed for the door, when Yoshiki called them once more.
"Uh, can you do me another favor and keep him away from Toshiya and Hide?" he pleaded, mostly serious. "And especially Kiyo and Rose? Please? At least for his first few days here. Those guys will scare him off for sure!"
