“What’s this?” Gackt took the small, black velvet wrapped box from the shorter vocalist.

Hyde smiled softly and chewed on his bottom lip as he let his hands fall to his sides. He played with the hem of his pants nervously before shoving them deeply into his pockets. “Just a gift.”

Gackt’s long fingers ran over the soft velvet as he turned the box over in his hands a little. “Why?”

Hyde chuckled a little. “Well… I just felt like it.”

“Well, thankyou.” Gackt moved closer and cupped Hyde’s chin in his hand, tipping it upwards and kissing him gently.

Hyde watched as the younger vocalist carefully untied the blood red ribbon. The velvet fell open to reveal a small pewter box inside. Gackt grasped the lid and pulled the little box open, looking at the small black pendant inside.

“Do… you like it?” Hyde asked, having no idea why he was suddenly so nervous.

“It’s really nice.” Gackt smiled widely and pulled the necklace from the box, studying it.

“I got it custom made.” The shorter man said quickly, biting his lip.

“You did?” The taller singer asked, clipping the chain around his neck and playing with the pendant.

“Yeah, I did.” Hyde smiled again. “It’s…” He faded off.

“It’s what?” Gackt asked, setting the box down.

“Just… promise you’ll always wear it, ne?”

The taller man nodded. “Of course.”

Hyde smiled brightly and stepped forwards, embracing the taller man tightly. “Thankyou. I know it’s weird but… it… means a lot.”

“It’s okay, I’m going to wear it every day on the tour.” Gackt smiled.

This was the first tour that Gackt had gone on since he and Hyde realised their feelings for each other, he knew he’d miss the shorter man, but the gift of the necklace would give him something to hold onto on a lonely night.

“Gakun…” Hyde spoke softly. “I should probably explain why it’s so important, ne?”

“I have a fair idea.” The taller man moved to the couch and smiled as Hyde joined him.

“Really?” How could he know already? “Well… I’ll explain it anyway… just in case.” He took a deep breath and hoped Gackt wouldn’t laugh at him for this. “Well… inside it… is… some of my blood. A little piece of me to take with you wherever you go.” He looked away nervously.

Gackt was speechless, and he was unable to speak for a few moments. This was… so sweet. “Haido?” He reached out and turned the smaller man’s face towards him.

“Yeah?” Hyde asked, nervous as ever.

“Thankyou.” Gackt’s blue eyes sparkled as he smiled. “It’s so sweet of you.”

“R… Really?” Hyde’s eyes opened wide. “You don’t think it’s twisted?”

Gackt moved over and pulled the other into an embrace. “I think it’s romantic, a little strange though… I didn’t see you as the romantic type.”

The older man laughed softly. “It’s not really what I’d call… normal though.”

“But of course, we’re both so normal.” Gackt laughed gently, kissing the top of Hyde’s head. “You know… when I get back from the tour, I’ll have a gift for you.”
