Untie the Knot
The beginning.
"I think you like me," He decided as I accidentally stepped on someone's foot. I kept walking.
"I really don't, and I'm so sorry," I said, spying Alison standing in a smoke-filled corner, head cocked to the side, looking extremely bored. When she saw me, she held up her hands, in a what-the-fuck gesture, but I shook my head.
"Hey, Shellie, who's your dude?" Holly called from behind me
"Nobody," I said.
"Adam," He replied, turning a little to offer Holly his hand while still keeping up with me. "How're you?"
"I'm okay," She mumbled uneasily. "Shellie?"
"Just keep walkin'," I called behind me, stepping around two guys in dreadlocks. "He'll lose interest in me soon enough."
"Ah, a woman of little faith," He said cheerfully. "I think I'm just getting started."
