Bam had said that he’d be back in about two hours. He said he had some shopping to do. When Ville had heard the news, he’d pretended to pout, say that he wanted to come along. Bam had said no, saying Ville took too long in the shops, and he had a lot of running to do, but they might go out next weekend.
He’d carefully kept up his sulking routine as he curly haired lover kissed him on the forehead, ruffled his hair and promised to bring him back a present. On pins and needles, the Finn waited until he heard Bam’s car pull out of the driveway.
Finally! He was gone. Personally, Ville had no desire to go shopping today. He wanted the house to himself. He had… Other plans.
Ville went and drew the curtains of the living room. He didn’t want anyone to see him doing this. His heart was already starting to thud in his chest. His mouth was dry, and his palms her clammy. There were ten thousand reasons that this should be wrong, and a million more why he shouldn’t do it, but…
The man couldn’t help it. He would do this once, when the house was empty, when he was alone. Ville would feel so dirty, so wrong after he was done. This went against everything he stood for. Sweaty and panting, he’d swear to himself he’d never do it again.
But then the itch would start. It started in the soles of his feet, traveled up and rested in the back of his neck. He knew he had to do it again. He’d wait for days, weeks sometimes until the house was empty.
And then it would happen.
Now he ran up the stairs. He fetched a plain black boom box and a plain CD case from the bottom of his closet. The CD inside was one of those blank ones. Plain, nondescript, there was nothing written on it as usual.
His heart thudded harder as Ville plugged it in downstairs. He inhaled as he queued up the proper song. It always had to be this song. None other would do.
A smile split Ville’s face as the boppy beat filled the room.
Hey, hey,
You, you.
I don’t like your girlfriend.
No way, no way,
I think you need a new one.
Hey hey,
You, you,
I could be your girlfriend.
Hey, hey,
You, you,
I know that you like me.
No way, no way,
No, it’s not a secret.
Hey, hey,
You, you,
I want to be your girlfriend!
The music seemed to take him over. His hips swung in time, his feet moved, carrying him around and around the room. Without thinking, Ville’s hands gripped the hem of his shirt as he drew it up over his head and tossed it aside.
As his hips swayed seductively, his fingers undid the button on his pants, and he slowly pulled the zipper down. It was a lovely show that no one was around to see.
You’re so fine,
I want you; mine,
You’re so delicious.
I think about you all the time,
You’re so addictive.
Don’t you know what I can do,
To make you feel all right?
Don’t pretend,
I think you know,
I’m damn precious.
And hell yeah,
I’m the mother fucking princess!
I can tell you like me too,
And you know I’m right.
Ville’s pants pooled around his feet. He stepped out of them and pranced about the room in the black boxers decorated with pink heartagrams. By now he was lip synching along with Avril.
He spun and twirled, flipping his air to match the attitude of the words that weren’t really leaving his lips.
She’s like, so whatever.
You could do so much better.
I think we should get together now,
And that’s what everyone’s talking ‘bout!
He grabbed a hair brush to “sing” into as he continued dancing around the room. The rock star flapped his wrist, rolled his eyes, winked; let his hair fall in his eyes. If you didn’t know better, you might mistake him for a lovely starlet, just starting out in her career.
Although the lack of breasts might tip you off.
Hey, hey,
You, you.
I don’t like your girlfriend.
No way, no way,
I think you need a new one.
Hey, hey,
You, you.
I could be your girlfriend.
Hey, hey,
You, you.
I know that you like me.
No way, no way,
No, it’s not a secret.
Hey, hey,
You, you,
I want to be your girlfriend.
He was practically brimming over with some pop star quality at that moment. There was only one way he could let it out. The coffee table. Sweeping everything off, not missing a beat of the song, Ville jumped up on it.
This was almost as good as a stage. He pretended he could see thousands and thousands of people going out far into the distance, like he had so many times before. This was perfect! He shimmied his hips even harder and winked at the invisible audience.
I can see the way,
I see the way you look at me.
And even when you look away,
I know you think of me.
I know you talk about me all the time,
Again and again.
So come over here,
And tell me what I want to hear!
Better yet make the girlfriend disappear.
I don’t wanna hear you say her name ever again (and again and again and again…)
The Finnish man dropped to his knees, fairly howling into the hairbrush, which had never led such an exciting life before. In an instant he was back standing, dancing around in a circle.
She’s like,
So whatever.
You could do so much better.
I think we should get together now.
And that’s what everyone’s talking about.
Ville danced through the next chorus. A thin sheen was sweat was starting to cover him. He ran his hand seductively down his bare chest, playing it up for the audience that was not there.
The music was up so loud, thumping throughout the whole room, that he did not hear the car pulling up in the driveway.
In a second you’ll be wrapped around my finger,
‘Cause I can, ‘cause I can do it better.
There’s no other, so when’s it gonna sink in?
She’s so stupid, what the hell were you thinking?
In a second you’ll be wrapped around my finger,
‘Cause I can, ‘cause I can do it better.
There’s no other, so when’s it gonna sink in?
She’s so stupid, what the hell were you thinking?
Suddenly, the music stopped. Ville felt every drop of his blood turn cold. He froze, the hairbrush still against his mouth. He was in midgesture. Slowly, he turned around.
Bam Margera was standing in the doorway, his finger on the power button of the boom box. They stared at each other for a few seconds.
“I did not expect you home yet.” Ville broke the silence.
“You seemed so upset about being left home, I hurried through everything and finished sooner than I thought I would. I skipped some of it, because I thought you might want to go with me to some of the stores.” He was babbling now, but what the hell?
“Oh,” there was another pause.
Slowly, carefully, Bam backed out of the room, his arms overflowing with paper bags. Ville jumped off the table. This was going to be hard to explain.
