Chad stumbled on the staircase leading to the doorstep. He collapsed to his knees so hard that he could almost hear them clapping against the iron railing. Wincing in pain, he bellowed nasty words under his breath. He contemplated sitting there for a moment to endure the pain long enough so that it’ll subside but his thoughts kept him moving. He was only a few footsteps short of Jared’s door and he couldn’t stop. Not even if he wanted to.
He was on the road for three days. This was the fastest he’d ever driven to Vancouver. North Carolina is a basically on the other side of the continent and an airplane ticket wouldn’t have cost much from his pockets but he needed the drive. He needed time to think about what he was going to say or what he was going to do. He needed time to get away.
He knocked on the door and Jared answered before he can regain his posture from the fall. Jared’s grin was teeth-bearing from ear to ear as he looked at Chad—wobbly knees and all—through the open door. Chad, not really being one to smile too often, tried his best to return a similar grin. That was one of his biggest flaws: his lack of showing his true emotions. It was killed him in moments like this where he couldn’t express how happy he truly was. The biggest irony of it all is that he’s an actor.
“Chad!” Jared greeted in excitement. “How in the hell did you get all the way out here?”
Jared, without any warning, wrapped his arms around Chad. His right arm went over the shoulder and patted him on the back while his left arm wrapped itself around his boyishly muscular waistline. Chad returned the hug with both his arms twisting themselves around Jared’s shoulders. He was a lot firmer than he remembered.
“How are you, man? Are you okay?” Jared asked in a casual tone.
Chad didn’t answer immediately. He just exhaled into Jared’s thick neck and loosened the grip around his shoulders. “Not too good. I messed up, Jared. I messed up real bad.”
Jared broke the hug so that he can analyze Chad eye-to-eye. He wasn’t kidding. Not even a little bit. His eyes were red and welling and his perma-frown was a lot more presentable.
“Come in,” Jared invited him in.
Chad nodded and walked into the house with his hands in his pocket and his shoulders defensively up at his neck.
Jared towered Chad as he stood in the middle of the room, covering his face to prevent any sobbing. Only the sounds of uneasy breathing were audible at the moment. Chad had no idea what to say and Jared had no idea what to do. They both stood in complete silence, daring to look the other in the eye.
“Talk to me,” Jared begged, breaking the silence. “Please say something.”
Chad shook his head as his arms folded themselves inside each other.
“It’s hard… it’s too hard,” his voice cracked.
“Come on, Chad. It’s me.” Jared took a step closer to let Chad, hoping that he’d be able to sense his sincerity. Jared had no idea what was going on and he was scared to death for his friend.
“Sofawatsadivose,” he muttered into his face-hovering hands.
“What?”
“Sophia. She wants a divorce.” He cried out loud. A little too loud.
Jared was taken aback but he’d be a liar if he said he was surprised. As much gossip that’s usually passed around about celebrities, a lot of the skeptics would be surprised to know how much of it is real. One thing Jared has learned to accept is that even though he’s a genuine and nice guy, a true Hollywood romance only comes by a celebrity once. Maybe twice.
He read the tabloid articles about Chad’s infidelity and he’d be a liar if he said he didn’t know much about it, personally. As disgusting as it may sound, Chad really did fuck Paris Hilton. From the very beginning, he’s been cheating on Sophia with a handful of other girls. One girl in particular, Kenzie, is one of his favorite mistresses. She’s so young and gullible that she’ll accept Chad and all his flaws with a smile.
She wasn’t the only one.
“I’m really sorry,” Jared reached out and placed his hand on his shoulder. “Sophia was really great.”
And she was. She was the best he’d ever had. She was the one girl that Chad could really love. But at the end of the day, Chad has to battle his demons and apparently they won this fight.
Jared and Chad never talked about it but there is something that’s been going through Jared’s mind from the moment he learned about Chad’s ways: his mother. Chad’s mother left him when he was 10 and he was raised single-handedly by his father, whom he admired to no limit because of it. His broken relationship with his mother has given him commitment issues with female companions.
The damage is pretty much done between Chad and Sophia. She is an amazing girl but forgiving isn’t her strong point. And Jared admired her for that.
She’s better than he is.
“Lay down, Chad.” Jared suggested as he walked with him to the couch.
Jared blushed a little bit at all the junk food scattered over his coffee table. Whenever Jensen’s away, he has a terrible tendency to abandon his cleanliness
Jared, with his arms supporting Chad’s back, lowered him to the couch. Chad’s entire rear declined into the cushion slowly and carefully. Jared was always careful with Chad.
“Come here.” Chad slurred.
He clamped his hands onto Jared’s neck and pulled him downwards. Their lips collided into an open-mouth kiss. Chad’s rough stubble grazed uncomfortably against Jared’s face but for that moment, he didn’t care. To be honest, he never did.
But then he remembers. He remembers how Chad would hurt like he did last year. He remembers how Chad would hurt him like he did during filming of Gilmore Girls. He remembers how he can’t fall into that trap every time Chad’s lonely. It hurts too much.
He pulls away in an instant and shakes his head in refusal.
“I… can’t. I can’t do this.” Jared said.
“Jared, please.” he begged in a drunken slur.
Jared winced as he looked down at the vulnerable blonde. He hated the way Chad called out to him. There was so much more than desperation in his voice.
“Jared…”
And just like that, Jared’s passion overtook him. He towered Chad and fell into another familiar kiss. He wasn’t a stranger to the sensation of the blonde’s prickly stubbing on his lips but it wasn’t something he’d get too often. Chad was the only guy he ever kissed. Chad was the only guy he ever…
“Stop,” he muttered as he broke the kiss. Chad looked up at him with a confused sadness. “Not this time… I can’t do this again.”
“Plea-“
“Don’t! Don’t beg. Not this time,” his voice was shaky. “Don’t fill me with empty promises and then leave me in confusion. Don’t make it any harder than it already is to be your friend.”
“I don’t mean to,” he blurted, “I just… I need you.”

Jared sat on the couch, shirtless, with his legs wide open and eager hands placed on the back of Chad’s head. Chad comfortably knelt between Jared’s legs.
Jared’s manhood found its way out of the zipper of his jeans like a baby chick finds his way out of an egg. It slithered out and expanded as the heat of Chad’s mouth warmed it.
Jared threw his head back in ecstasy. His hands circled Chad’s mid-back and traveled up to his neck. His huge hands masked the back of Chad’s neck as he grappled it. He opened his mouth to exhale and a moan escaped.
“Chad…” he called out in mercy.
Chad looked up at him. His hands gently traveled up Jared’s rippling abs. He pulled Jared’s cock out of his mouth and licked it softly. His mouth was warmer than ever from all the drinking and Jared can feel the alcoholic spices exciting his dick at every pulse.
Chad stroked Jared’s wet cock and looked up at him with a devilish smile. Jared bit his bottom lip and ran his hands through Chad’s blonde hair.
It was hard. It was so hard.
Chad trailed kisses up from Jared’s abs to his neck to his ear. His tongue rapidly messaged the lobe of the ear and then he playfully nibbled on it, all the while, never refusing to loosen his grip on Jared’s large manhood.
The blonde used his free hand to caress Jared’s long brown hair. He stroked his hair while gently leading kisses along his clean-shaven jaw line. He went in for a kiss on the lips and Jared cooperated. His tongue was in a dangerous battle with Jared’s and he was winning. Jared had fallen in his trap. He had fallen in love… all over again.
He broke the kiss and stood up from the couch. He unbuckled his belt and pulled down his jeans. Jared watched him in an innocent awe as Chad stripped to nothing but boxers in front him. This was as naked as he’d ever seen him and vice-versa.
Chad mounted Jared and they shared a mesmerizing gaze. Their bare chest rest against each other closely. Their heartbeats were spontaneous and so were their unsteady breathing.
It always was.
Jared entered Chad slowly. It was their first time getting this connected. Past experiences only consists of Jared pleasuring Chad while they worked together on Gossip Girl and the two of them sharing a passionate kiss – for the first time – during the filming of House of Wax.
But this was different. This time they actually connected. There was years of desire and sexual tension building between the two and Chad acted on them for the first time. And Jared let him.
Jared buried his face into Chad’s neck as he thrust harder and harder into him. Chad’s arms wrapped themselves around Jared’s neck tightly and he moaned into his ear.
And just as quickly as their passion began, it subsided just as quickly in a passionate explosion.

Chad put his last suitcase into his car and closed the trunk. The sun had barely risen that morning and Chad was already fleeting.
Just like he’d always do.
“I’m really sorry,” he started, “but I have to go back to North Carolina.”
Jared tried his best to remain expressionless as Chad loaded his last suitcase. “I know.”
They met each other in a friendly, impassionate hug.
“I love you, Jared.” Chad whispered in his ear.
Jared pulled away and stumbled to a few footsteps short of physical contact with Chad.
“Don’t do that...” he rubbed his eyes to dry them and stifled a calm breath. “You don’t have to tell me that.”
“I don’t…” Chad stuttered. “I mean, I’m sorry…”
Jared nodded and covered his mouth. Chad stood at a far distance but his ocean blue eyes were as visible as ever in the early morning sun. He frowned as he returned the slight nod.
And just like that, Chad turned around, got inside his car and drove off. It wasn’t romantic and it wasn’t climatic. It was simply gone.
Jared cleared his throat and looked forward to the sunset. It was hard to see him leave. It was always hard.
“I love you, too.”
