I decided to focus on Daft Punk, the boys, for this fic. The idea that there is a human being and a heart underneath it all fascinates me. ;)
And I know I have probably made mistakes writing this. I just threw it out late at night in a sudden blast of inspiration.

Things would get intense sometimes when they were having an inspiration attack late at night. It would happen, not all of the time, but now and then. Conditions didn't even need to be right.
'Let's do this,' Thomas had said, confident and curious as always. Hanging over their keyboards, Guy-Manuel would give his idea consideration, agree with it, then change small things. He slightly changed the output and added an effect, erased another. 'Sounds better?'
Thomas looked down upon him with a big grin; addicted to this. 'Hell yeah.'
Further editing the stuff always took enormous amounts of time. Guy-Manuel never checked the clock, but Thomas did. They finished editing at half past two that night. It was hard work that required a lot of thought. It was still what they were both best at. They only did half the work, really; the other would say something or change something that would complete it all in just one try.
Thomas's back got all stiff from working like this, standing over the mixing table or computers. It was worth it, of course, but he really had to stretch every half of an hour.
At a quarter past two, they seemed to be stuck. Thomas had made awesome sections of a track, but couldn't figure out where to put what. They were both desperately trying everything they could think of, but it simply didn't seem to work.
'We just ruined hours of work,' Thomas smiled, accepting his defeat, taking off his headphones. Guy-Manuel refused to get up and kept on staring at the blue-ish light of the screen, without saying a word.
'You should get home, too, insomniac,' Thomas said while he was putting on his leather jacket, preparing to walk through the cold drizzle.
'I think I got it,' Guy-Manuel suddenly said, the moment Thomas was reaching out for the doorknob. His voice was loud in the quiet night.
'Are you serious?' Thomas yelled, rushing to his side because he knew his friend would never lie about this. Guy-Manuel clicked around, turning a few knobs up, then listened to the results. Thomas was standing over him, staring at the screen, unable to hear what he had done. Feeling tense with expectations, he looked at his concentrated face. It finally cracked into a small, gentle smile, and with a 'Voila', Guy-Manuel handed him the headphones.
It was perfect. Thomas had already known it would be perfect, but Manuel always surprised him in the end. The bass was slow and deep, the melody haunting, the sound effects raw. He had seen him do it, but still didn't understand how he had made this. He could never have done it on his own.
'What do you think?' Guy-Manuel asked after a minute.
Thomas didn't answer. He grabbed him by his cheeks and kissed him, his headphones still on, the music still in his ears. It started as a friendly kiss, out of happiness. But when he let him go, it didn't feel that way.
'It's perfect.'
Guy-Manuel smiled, in quiet, modest satisfaction. 'I knew you'd love it.'
