Epilogue
****** Epilogue
Davey sat humming and writing out the plans for the midsummer festival. It fell to him since there was no official consort or queen to the kingdom.
He was just about to stop for the day when the feeling of familiar fingers caressing his fingers made him sigh and lean into Jade. "Good afternoon, love."
Jade kissed him in reply before putting his hands over Davey's eyes. "Stand up and come up me... Keep your eyes closed. It's a surprise."
Having become accustomed to Jade's surprises in the six months since they had officially consummated their bond, Davey closed his eyes and allowed himself to be lead.
Minutes later Jade sat him on their bed and told him, "Open you eyes."
Blinking a couple of times Davey focused on the clay jars sitting on his vanity. "What are these?" Davey asked as he rose and went to them.
"Traditional wedding dyes... Davey would you marry me?"
Davey spun with the jar of blue dye in his hands, his eyes wide in shock. "What?"
"Marry me... please." Jade walked over and smiled at him, hope in his every expression and motion.
Davey was speechless before he nodded. "I will... I love you."
Jade let out a loud yell and grabbed Davey and swung him in a circle, splashing the blue dye everywhere.
Davey laughed as he allowed himself to be spun and then hugged close. "One thing though Jade... I won't need all of these colors..."

"I am bound to you, by body, by heart, and by soul." Jade said the last of the wedding ceremony to Davey and once he had the high priest's nod of approval leaned in and kissed his husband lovingly.
In the front of the crowd of cheering people King Obsidian stood with Ami in his arms, looking on with a smile. The happiness that shone on Jade's face made Obsidian remember his own wedding day and the look on his beloved's face. The same expression was reflected on his son's face as had been on Adrien's that day.
The feel of a strong warm breeze made the crowd cheer even louder. A good omen it was thought to be, but Obsidian knew that it was his Adrien, finally able to rest.
Looking at his son and son-in-law, Obsidian chuckled as Jade's leathery black wings closed around the still kissing couple and then Davey's freshly dyed black wings interlocked with his husband's.
THE END
That's all folk! I hope you've enjoyed the ride.
