Chapter 10
Daisuke,
I’m sure there is no need for me to tell you who this is. You’re smart enough that I think you can figure it out.
I’m writing to you to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry for getting in your way. I’m sorry for holding you back. Mostly, I’m sorry I’ll never be Kyo. I was foolish for thinking you might actually love me, and I was blind to the fact that you really wanted Kyo. I’m sorry for getting in between the two of you. I’m making it up to you now, and I can only hope I didn’t wait too long and cause you to miss your chance for happiness. I guess I should have seen it when you started ignoring me for long periods of time, but I’m not really all that bright. I’m sorry for any, and all, problems I have unwittingly caused for you. I sincerely hope you can forgive me.
I’m sorry for everything,
Toshiya
P.S.
I’ve taken the liberty of moving back out. I never meant to be in the way.
Ima mou, Aishiteru yo.
Die stared at the letter for a long time. He could feel the sting and burn of his tears coming back, but they wouldn’t fall. It was nearly four in the morning and the red head had been out all night looking for Toshiya. The thought that he had gone back to their apartment had never crossed the guitarist’s mind. He read the letter again, and a new fear hit him. Toshiya had seen Kyo kiss him, but must not have stayed long enough to see him turn the blonde down. Toshiya thought that he wanted Kyo. Things only got worse when Die went into the apartment.
The life which once filled this place now seemed to have never existed. The guitarist felt numb and cold as he made his way to the phone in the dining room. He couldn’t recognize anything, even himself. It was as thought he had become a stranger, and was in a stranger’s home. He picked up the handset and began to dial Toshiya’s cell phone number when he saw the small blue device laying on the kitchen counter. He sat the phone back on the receiver and went intoed the kitchen, his eyes never leaving the blue machine. The red head stood there for only a minute before collapsing in uncontrollable sobs. ’Toshiya, gomen nasai.’ the apology played over and over in his mind, and slowly Die fell into a tormented state of sleep.
* * *
Kyo had decided to wait a while before he went back to the apartment in hopes that it would give Shinya a chance to calm down. So much seemed to be out of place lately, and it had all started when Dir en grey broke up. Kyo had noticed the fall of his friends, and himself, and that was the reason behind his want to reunite his friends. Even if the original plan omitted him from the happiness, he knew that he would have been happy knowing that his friends were happy. Things didn’t go according to plan. Die and Shinya saw to that when they went searching for him in the alley and found him still alive. And now, he wasn’t sure who he was anymore. He tried to be the same him that everyone knew, but with each new day since his foiled attempt of suicide he found it harder than the one before. He found himself thinking and doing things that he never would have considered, or would have thought weird, disgusting, and abnormal, not so long ago. To make things worse, or better, depending on how you look at it, since he and Shinya had gotten together, he was battling feelings within himself that he had suppressed for so long. Kyo reached up and wiped a tear from his face. He hadn’t noticed that he had began to cry until he could taste the salty substance at the corner of his mouth.
Miyu began to bark from inside the apartment, and Kyo didn’t waste much more time in opening the door. Without looking up, he entered the dimly lit room, and closed the door.
“I thought I would wait for you to get back, so that you could at least have an explanation.” Shinya’s saddened voice reached Kyo’s ears, causing the older man to turn and look at him for the first time since he left the alley. The red head sat on the couch with Miyu in his lap, and a small book bag next to him. It was obvious that the bag had some of his stuff in it. “I want you to know that I did see what happened between you and Die.”
“…it didn’t mean anything.” Kyo said, not really trying to defend himself, and maintaining a civil tone.
“I know. And it’s not the fact that you kissed Die that I’m bothered by.” Kyo stared at Shinya, now thoroughly taken aback. “It’s the fact that Toshiya was so hurt by your actions that he couldn’t even stay to see Die tell you no. Toshiya thinks it meant something.” Kyo turned his head. He couldn’t look at Shinya. When he opened his eyes, he found himself looking into a mirror. That was worse than looking at Shinya. He wanted so much to apologize to everyone, for everything. A sense of guilt ate away at him, even as he stood there. “Toshiya thinks that it meant something to Die. He thinks that Die wants you, not him.” silence filled the room, and Kyo heard Shinya stand and grab his bag. “I know it didn’t mean anything to you. I know it didn’t mean anything to Die. But, it meant something to Toshiya, and I can’t accept that.” Kyo simply nodded slowly as Shinya moved past him and out of the apartment. He stood where he was for a moment, before going to the couch, and laying down so that his head was where Shinya had been sitting.
“Gomen, minna.” Kyo said, tears falling slowly from his eyes before he closed them and drifted into a lonely sleep.
* * *
The red walls seemed only to give Toshiya enough energy to cry even harder. This place he once called home now seemed more like a prison. Somewhere he had to be, rather than somewhere he wanted to be. As true as he knew that was, he also knew that he couldn’t be where he wanted. He was no longer wanted there, and he was not going to add foolish to the list of adjectives used to describe him. He already knew that he was oblivious, blind, ignorant, and selfish.
The bassist lay on his bed thinking of all the things that should have told him the truth, but for everything that said ’no’ there were at least three that said ’yes’. He was beyond confused. His world had come crashing down on him when he saw them kissing. Trying to make himself think about something else, he turned on the radio just in time to catch the end of the lyrics in “Mushi”.
*** kokoro ga nokoshita shinjiru imi no tsuyosa wo watashi wo koroshita watashi kokoro [my heart has left me with a belief in strength my own heart killed me] ***
It seemed now as though the gods were mocking him. Laughing at him from where they were. He quickly turned the radio back off. With all the strength he had, he forced himself off of his bed, and went to the living room and sat on the couch where he let his mind run away with him. It seemed no one else cared, so why should he. He’ll just sit there and wait for death to claim him. Something that probably should have happened eleven years ago. When he was still in his first year of fashion school. It most likely would have, too, had it not been for Kaoru finding him. Toshiya didn’t like where his mind was going as a cold shiver shot down his spine. He pulled his legs up close to himself in a feeble attempt to warm up a little before allowing his eyes to fall under the weight of sleep.
* * *
* I hope he can handle living on his own. After a little more than a year of the opinionated boy living with me, I would be surprised if he can deal with living in his own place, and keeping up with it and himself. I mean, sure… he is smart, but that only lasts until he gets irritated. Hmm… but, I will miss having the company, however little it may have started as…. *
** I wonder if something is wrong. He’s not acting like himself. “Are you feeling okay? You said this was going to be something worth my time. Are you sure you didn’t suffer massive brain damage the other day?” I smile at the look on his face. So priceless. If only I had a camera. He knows I’m just kidding, and falls to the ground with his hand on his stomach in mock sickness, causing me to laugh. **
* Wow… I’ve managed to take in three room mates, and all of them were victims of the same trauma… I hope that -if- I take in another, it’s under better circumstances. Maybe they could be female, too. Haha.. Yeah, right. *
** I go over to him, playing into his game, but not about to let him win. I start poking him, and then begin to tickle him, rendering him hopeless almost. “Stop.. That hurts.” I do as he asks, but am too slow to defend myself when I see the smirk cross his lips. “Kami, Shinya, you’re too easy.” he says, now sitting on me at the waist. He’s different. I can’t quite place it yet, but his eyes and voice are different somehow. **
* It’s been so long since I’ve walked through a park. I don’t see any harm in going through it today. *
** “What are you doing?” I ask as he starts to rip my shirt open. “Just shut up, and stay still.” not really an answer, but that is what he says. I’m confused, but only until he starts trying to open my pants. That’s when fear sinks in. There was so much I wanted to do, and if I just lay here, I won’t be able to. I do the first thing that comes to mind. He hadn’t pinned my hands down, but I hadn’t given him any reason to. I reach up and, with all the force I can muster, I punch him. The impact causes him to turn his head, and when he looks back at me, I can see that he is bleeding. I’ve caused one of my friends to bleed. Something that I never even thought I would have been capable of doing. “BITCH!” I don’t get another chance when he sends a slap across my face, and then proceeds to single-handedly hold my hands to the ground over my head. Tears fall from my eyes. I know they do. **
* “BITCH!” hmm… must be another lover’s quarrel. What a great way to ruin a nice walk in the park, ne? Let’s have a long, over-dramatic argument here. Then we can have all the attention we want. That’s pathetic, but most likely the thoughts behind some of those little spats. I can only figure as much from the reasons, a.k.a. excuses, behind them. It really is best if they are just ignored. *
** I’m now on my stomach and he’s managed to get my pants down. I can feel his breath on the back of my neck before he says, “You’re too beautiful for your own good.” and then… pain. Excruciating pain. I’ve never experienced anything like it, and I just want it to end. I scream, but am cut off when he uses his free hand to ram my face into the ground in front of it. **
* Screaming? That’s one I’ve not heard here. Maybe someone’s in trouble. I run in the direction the scream came from. It’s not long before I find the source of the scream, and her reasoning behind it. I loose all sense of control and run upon the man, effectively scaring him out of the person below him. I don’t even give him the chance to cover himself back up before I begin to beat him. *
** It’s stopped. I open my eyes slightly to see another man hitting him. I don’t know this other man, but somehow I feel I can trust him. I see the one I once called my friend fall to the ground, and know that he is unconscious, before my eyes close on their own accord. **
* The man falls, and I’m right behind him. I sit on his chest, and continue to pound on him until I grow thoroughly tired. By that time, he is well beyond unconscious, and is in need of serious medical help. I know this, so I call 119 and have them dispatch an emergency crew to the park to help the man I found unconscious. I’m not stupid enough to tell Tokyo police that I am the one who rendered him that way. No reason is more than an excuse with them, even if it is justified. I turn my attention to the victim. Great, another room mate, another victim. Why can I not get a room mate on better terms? Is that too much to ask? I go over and begin to pull his pants.. Wait. His?! Wow. Now I’ve seen everything. I manage to get -his- pants back up to where they are supposed to be, and turn him onto his back so that he will look like he is just sleeping there. Or so I thought. I hadn’t noticed the blood when he was on his face. He’s bleeding from the nose and mouth and there’s a considerably large bruise on the left side of his face. I check the time. Good, it’s rush hour. I should have enough time to take him to my apartment, and get back before the police get here. *
* * *
Kaoru sat up in bed, and looked at the time. The large red lights showed 4:23. ’Alright, this time I wasn’t drinking, so why the fuck do I get stuck with -that- particular memory?’ That’s when he remembered having looked at his photo album of Terachi Shinya just before going to bed. ’Hmph… at this rate, I’ll not be able to look at any of their photo albums.’ the purple haired guitarist thought jokingly as he made his way to the kitchen and started a pot of coffee. He had to be at the studio in about two hours anyway, so why not go ahead and start the day now?
* * *
7:00
When Toshiya got to the studio, he found that Kaoru was the only one who had already arrived. Not wanting his leader to get angry with Die, Toshiya lowered his head so that his blue hair covered the bruise that had formed on his face, and made his way to the make up counter. Kaoru didn’t really pay him much mind, as he figured he just didn’t want anyone to see him without his make up on. That was typical of Toshiya, after all.
Toshiya pulled down several different concealers from the cabinet before taking his seat and starting to work on covering the bruise on his face. He found some difficulty trying to concentrate with the thought of Kaoru looking into his mirror and seeing the injury lingering on his mind, and he watched the mirror for any movement of the guitarist’s head. The bassist spent several minutes trying to work out a combination of the various powders that would both cover the bruise and match his skin tone closely.
Kyo soon walked into the room, causing the bassist to stop his work momentarily to watch him in the mirror. The short vocalist walked over to where Kaoru was and sat down.
“Ohayo, Kyo.” the guitarist said, not having looked up at him.
“Ohayo.” Kyo replied, his voice less than enthusiastic, even for him. Kaoru looked up from his papers, and Toshiya grew tense.
‘Don’t let him turn around. Please, Kami-sama, don’t let him look this way.’ he thought as he began to work harder to cover the sensitive flesh.
“Kyo? Why are you wearing that?” the guitarist had just taken notice of the more than strange hat the younger man was wearing. Kyo’s lips parted to a wide grin. “You didn’t?” a brief pause as the vocalist nodded. “You DID?!” Kaoru sighed. “What color is it this time?” the leader sounded, and was, exasperated. Kyo removed the hat to reveal that his hair was now a dark gray color. Kaoru had to fight hard not to start choking on his own saliva. “Two questions, when, and, most importantly, why?”
“When? About 5 o’clock this morning. Why? Because I felt like it… or did you want a more complex answer?” Kyo seemed to be avoiding that last question, and Kaoru realized this.
“Whatever makes you happy, Kyo….” the guitarist thought it wise not to press the matter, and the now gray haired vocalist took a seat on the couch, and out of Toshiya’s view in the mirror. He knew that the bassist had been watching them, because he could see him. Kyo also noted the bruise on his face, and knew perfectly well that if Die saw it, he would be livid with regret.
Toshiya, feeling confident he had done a good job of hiding the mark, stood and made his way over to the opposite end of the room as Kyo was on, and took a seat. Kaoru looked over at him curiously. Normally, the bassist would have gone over and sat with them and started talking. The guitarist stood and was about to approach the bassist when the door opened again and Shinya entered.
“Kaoru, can I speak with you?” he looked around to see Kyo and Toshiya sitting at opposite ends of the room. “In private, please?” Kaoru nodded, rather confused. So much had apparently happened over the course of two weeks, but he had been left completely out of the loop and in the dark. The two men went into the staff room and Shinya began to tell Kaoru everything that he knew had happened. He told Kaoru about him and Kyo getting together, and about Toshiya and Die. He told the older man what he knew of Die hitting Toshiya, and about him and Toshiya seeing Kyo kiss Die outside the bar.
“Kaoru, Totchi doesn’t know that Die never returned the kiss. He thinks Die wants Kyo rather than him, and is understandably very upset.”
Kaoru sat wide eyed at all the information he had just received. “Well, I’m not sure what I’ll be able to do to help. In fact, I’m not even sure who I should help.”
“Look, just do us all a favor. When you see Kyo or Die start going to Toshiya, get in between them. Don’t let Toshiya get too close to Kyo or Die. He’s upset, and I’m not sure what he is capable of. I’ve already talked to him about it, but after practice today, I’ll be moving into his apartment to keep an eye on him.” the purple haired man stared at him a few seconds before nodding.
When they returned to the practice room, Die still hadn’t arrived. Kaoru looked over at the clock that hung just over the door.
“Has Die been here?”
“No… I haven’t seen him.” Kyo replied, while Toshiya shook his head silently.
“Hmm… it’s nearly 8. I’ll go call him, see if he’s okay.” Kaoru said. When he opened the door, he found a very lost looking Die on the other side. “Die? Are you okay?” the older man asked, moving aside as the red head stumbled inside.
“Huh? Oh… yeah, I’m fine.” his movement’s seemed to be considerably slower than normal, and even he noticed it. His mind was in a fog and he could not think straight for any period of time worth mentioning. Toshiya remained seated where he was and watched as the man he loved struggled to put on his guitar, not having bothered to tune it first.
“Die, are you sure you’re alright?” Shinya asked, noticing the same problems everyone else was.
“Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be? I mean, I’m a little tired, but aside from that I think I’m good to go.” Die said, scratching his head in a confused manner. Kaoru wasn’t going to buy into his friend’s lie.
“Do me a favor?” the older guitarist said, looking at Die. The red head turned to face him. “Play the intro to ‘MARMALADE CHAINSAW’.” Die smirked at the request.
“That’s it? That will prove to you that I’m fine? Okay.” Die picked up the pick and began to play, however what came out was far from ‘MARMALADE CHAINSAW’.
“Die, that was ‘Fukai’.” Die looked at Kyo, confused.
“No it isn’t.” he stated, thoroughly convinced that he had just played the opening piece to ‘MARMALADE CHAINSAW’. He wasn’t sure why Kyo was telling him it was the wrong song. He knew it wasn’t ‘Fukai’.
‘Die… what’s wrong with you? You should be happy now.’ Toshiya thought before turning his attention away from the argument that was starting between the man he loved, and the one he lost to. He could feel tears forming in his eyes, and knew that he needed to get away from this room or he would certainly start crying.
“How much sleep did you get last night?” Kaoru asked, having remembered that the other guitarist had said that he was tired.
“Uh… two hours, maybe. Why?” the other three members’ eyes widened in shock.
“Only ‘two hours, maybe’?! No wonder you can’t think straight!” Kyo said, clearly shocked. Toshiya decided it was time for him to take a smoke break, and he walked past the other men to disappear behind the exit.
“What? I couldn’t stay asleep. It’s no big deal.” Die said, making his way through his friends and to his place in the room.
“It -is- a big deal!” Kyo half shouted.
“Look, Kyo, just because you need a minimum of 13 hours of sleep doesn’t mean that everyone else does. I’ll be fi--” Die’s words were cut off when he fell to the floor, unconscious. Kaoru and Kyo ran to his side, while Shinya turned to get Toshiya. Even if the bassist was mad at Die, he would still want to know that the red head was okay.
By the time he and Toshiya got back to the practice studio, Kyo, Kaoru, and a few other staff members had gotten Die onto the couch.
“Today’s practice is canceled. Tomorrow, you are all to be here at 7:30 sharp. We’re having a meeting.” Kaoru stated, his patience was obviously gone, and his eyes never left Die’s sleeping form. “You can go now.” Kyo and Shinya exchanged worried glances, and Toshiya didn’t move from his place, right next to Die, holding the other’s hand in his. He turned a questioning look to Kyo when he saw the older man start to leave, but he didn’t want to say anything to him. He knew that if he spoke to the gray haired vocalist, he wouldn’t be able to maintain a civil tone, and certainly would lose the battle with his tongue.
* 3:57 pm *
When Die awoke, he found that he was lying on the couch in the studio. He also found that Kaoru was sitting at the table, watching him.
“What happened?” Die asked. He couldn’t even remember having gotten to the studio, let alone sleeping there.
“Well, that depends.” Kaoru stated. Die stared at him, growing even more confused by the second.
“How did I get here?” when the red head asked the question, Kaoru looked at him for a long time before he finally gave an answer.
“I’m not really sure, but you did so not long before you passed out. You should consider yourself lucky.”
“Was… Toshiya here?” Die asked, timidly. He thought he had seen the bassist, but then again, he thought he had not left his apartment, too. The purple haired man’s face turned somewhat harsh.
“He was. And he sat next to you for a while after you passed out. He left about 3 hours ago. Crying.” Die turned his eyes to the ground. He didn’t think anyone could feel more regret than him at this very moment, or for the past 24 hours, for that matter. “You know, Die, Toshiya really loves you. For you to go off and hit him, and then kiss one of your best friends was a poor way to show him that his love is returned.” Die looked back at Kaoru, his eyes reflecting all the hurt within himself, and he opened his mouth to speak. “I know, you didn’t kiss Kyo, Kyo kissed you. Shinya told me. He and Toshiya saw it. Well, in Toshiya’s mind, he saw you kiss Kyo back. I don’t know what is going on, and I don’t appreciate not being informed what is going on between the members of my own band, but tomorrow you are all getting the chance to tell your side of what happened. Be here at 7:30.” Kaoru said as he stood and went over to the door. “The keys are on the table. Be sure to lock up when you leave.” with that, the purple haired guitarist walked out of the room, leaving Die to sit alone and think of all the ways he has managed to make things go wrong.
* * *
Kyo sat alone in Shinya’s apartment, loneliness and sadness eating away at him. He really wanted the company of the drummer… his Shinya, and no matter how he looked at it, he couldn’t get around the knowledge that he had practically kicked Shinya out himself when he had kissed Die. But, what made him feel even worse was that Toshiya thought that the red head actually wanted the him, the warumono, over the sweetheart that the bassist was.
‘I mean, sure.. Toshiya is a bit thick at times, and can be considerably irrational, but this is pathetic.’ the gray haired vocalist thought to himself.
“Who says it’s pathetic?” the sound of Kaoru’s voice echoed in Kyo’s head, causing the latter to start and look around. He was still the only one in the room, but he could have sworn it sounded like the purple haired man was sitting beside him as he said that. “Maybe he really does want you. Maybe he was just too scared to say anything before, and now he is with Toshiya, a substitute for someone he can’t have… oh, wait… you already ruined even that for him.” Kyo balled his hands into tight fists, the flesh over his knuckles turning white quickly. He could feel his nails digging into the palms of his hands, but that wasn’t the cause for the tears that were collecting in his eyes. “Is this how you are with all of your friends?” now, the leader was standing in front of Kyo. He closed his eyes, not wanting to look at the older man any longer. Not wanting to see the accusing look in his eyes.
“Shut up. Get out.” the words were short and bitter. Kyo was surprised when he opened his eyes to see that Kaoru was no longer in front of him. He was certain that he would not hear the end of this when they got back to the studio the next day. His lack of control for his temper, and, more importantly, his mouth, would most likely have made the other man very angry.
* * *
7:30 am
Kyo, Toshiya, Shinya, and Die stood outside the studio. The door hadn’t been unlocked yet, and they were waiting on Kaoru to arrive with the key.
“Well, this is certainly different, ne?” Kyo said, trying to brighten everyone’s moods, including his own, as he put his arm on Toshiya’s shoulders. He had forgotten that Toshiya didn’t want anything to do with him at the moment, and the bassist shot him a cold glare before pushing the vocalist’s hand off and walking over to the other side of Shinya. “Tch… fine. How about you, Die?” the gray haired vocalist said, turning to face the normally happy guitarist. The red head stared at him for a moment, before turning and walking away a few steps and lighting a cigarette, obviously not wanting to talk to the shorter man if he didn’t have to. Kyo turned to Shinya, and they exchanged worried looks before their gazes were broken by the purple haired appearance of their leader before he unlocked and opened the door.
“Go in, sit down, and shut up.” Kaoru said, as he turned to face his band. They did as they were told, and silently took seats at the table in the studio meeting hall. He followed close behind. When he got to the front of the room and could see everyone clearly, he began to address them all in a tone that they would know not to disobey. “I will ask you all one at a time to tell what happened, specifically in the last couple nights. There are to be no interruptions, whatsoever. If there is so much as a syllable uttered by anyone other than who I have asked to talk, you will be dealt with, and you will not like it. This is not the time to talk to each other, for any reason. Do not make statements about someone else’s account of what happened, even if it -is- your time to speak. Do you all understand?” his question was answered by four very timid nods from his band mates.
Nearly two hours later, they had all gotten their sides of the recent events explained, having been very careful to follow Kaoru’s directions. Shinya even had to put his hand over Toshiya’s mouth to keep him from making a few comments when Die was trying to explain what had happened. Kaoru saw this, and the red head was about to remove his hand from the bassist’s mouth, but when the guitarist shook his head and pressed his own hand over Shinya’s, the drummer thought it better to stay just as he was. The only one who hadn’t had a chance to tell his side of the story was Toshiya.
“Alright, now.” Kaoru turned so that he was facing Toshiya directly, and Shinya lowered his hand from the other’s mouth so that he would be able to speak. The bassist opened his mouth eagerly, as if about to explain everything in one breath, or even one sentence. “Die, is there anything you want to say to Toshiya?” Toshiya nearly chocked on his words when he heard the guitarist asking Die to speak, rather than asking him for his side of the story. His mouth closed quickly, and he turned to face the red head, not expecting anything from the older man. He was surprised once again when Die nodded and sat up a bit more in his seat.
“I… I want to say… subete o, gomen nasai. Whether you believe me when I tell you that Kyo is nothing more than a friend and co-worker, and close to brother, it’s the truth. I only ever wanted you. Aishiteru, itsumo zutto hontouni. Gomen nasai.” Die’s words were soft, and his head was lowered, but his eyes never left Toshiya’s. With each word that left his mouth, the air in the small room seemed to grow considerably thicker. “That’s all.” Kaoru nodded and everyone turned to face Toshiya.
“Yeah, right.” the bassist said, rolling his eyes. Kaoru hadn’t told him he could speak yet, and the guitarist looked at the younger man with a very distinct anger in his eyes. “You can take your apology and stick it where the sun don’t shine. I saw you kiss Kyo. I’m sure you and your ‘brother’ will be real happy together.” he would have said more, but Die had already left the room and Kaoru sent a fierce slap across his face. Shinya and Kyo looked at Toshiya then Kaoru. Shock was evident by, not only the wide eyes, but also their mouths which hung open.
“I think it’s best that you all follow Die’s example and leave.” Kaoru’s eyes lowered to Toshiya. “Especially you.” the blue haired bassist sat for a moment, tears burning in his eyes as he wanted so much to still be with Die, but it seemed as though everything that he had thought was true. He had reached this conclusion when Die hadn’t made any effort to defend himself or deny that he had kissed Kyo. Slowly, he and the other two remaining members of Dir en grey got up and walked out of the room, eager to get away from Kaoru, but not stupid enough to show him that.
* * *
“You can take your apology and stick it where the sun don’t shine. I saw you kiss Kyo. I’m sure you and your ‘brother’ will be--” Die couldn’t take any more, and quickly got up and made his way out of the studio. Once he got inside his car, he had to fight hard to concentrate enough to get out of the parking lot, and drive. He didn’t care where he went at this point, as long as he would be able to get Toshiya, and what he had just said, off of his mind. Before he knew it, Die was parking his car at a bar not far from his apartment.
* * *
Toshiya sat alone in his apartment. Shinya had deemed him nearly intolerable, but stable enough to leave alone. He had been here all day… well, since a few minutes till three anyway. After being slapped by Kaoru, he needed something to make him feel a little better, so he went on a shopping spree that lasted nearly five and a half hours, though he didn’t get much. It was now nearly 6 o’clock and he was just starting to drift to sleep when his door bell rang. He tried to ignore it at first, but then it rang again and was accompanied with rapid and harsh knocking.
“Coming~!” he called as he stood and made his way to the door.
