A/N: Okay, so there's a bit of a time lapse to this next chapter, but I had the idea for the musical, so I wanted to go ahead and write it up. If there is an actual musical out there using this idea, I didn't know ... which is saying something, believe me. The updates might seem to come at odd times / such, but I promise that the new chapters are being typed at my normal updating speed, my internet just being annoying lately. Review me to let me know what you think (they make me happy). So without any more mindless author drivel (at least until after the chapter) here it is, enjoy!

“Come on, Bobert, I want to get to school early to look at the cast listing! Bob, please hurry! You know how anxious it makes me to see the postings. Come on!”
Natalie stood at the bottom of the stairs and had been yelling at her brother for several minutes already, having rushed downstairs almost before her alarm clock had gone off this morning, signaling that the long weekend wait was soon to be over and that she would soon enough know the results of the audition from the Friday before. Their new friends had tried their best to distract her throughout the weekend, but it was all to no avail, and she was more than anxious to see the results.
“Bobert! Come on!”
“God, Natie, stop screaming! I’m up, I’m dressed, just let me have some cereal.”
Bob stumbled down the stairs, hating his sister for waking him up so harshly. He had no doubt that if she had been given her way, she would have greeted him with a pitcher of cold water at the crack of dawn. But then again, he knew how nervous she was about the auditions that she always did. The nerves, she had assured him, were actually a sign of good luck. He thought this to be silly, but he would never argue with her over theater again, after she had gotten so upset with him in middle school that she had refused to speak to him for almost a month.
“Bobert, please just hurry up. Mrs. Smith said she would post the casting and crew chiefs before school started today. And you know how nervous I get with castings.”
“I’m hurrying, Natie. Just let me have some peace for a moment to eat my cereal.”
Ignoring the grin on their mother’s face, Natalie sat down at the table and began tapping her fingers on the wood, before Bob clasped his hand over her own with a bit of a warning glare. She moved her hands to her lap where she began twiddling her thumbs out of nervousness. She was about to start humming something when Bob seemed to give up on breakfast and stood.
“Well come on, Natie. You’re going to keep pestering me until you find out about that casting.”
Natalie jumped up with a grin on her face, resisting the urge to giggle as Bob just barely caught himself before cursing in front of their mom. She rounded the table and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before rushing out the door to their SUV.

When they reached the school, Natalie almost jumped from the car before it had even had a chance to completely stop. But she knew that she would try to act as calm as she could, that way if things didn’t turn out quite the way she had hoped with the auditions, she wouldn’t have too much hovering from her brother and the other boys.
She headed straight for the auditorium, not bothering to see if Bob was following or not, as she knew he would be just as anxious to see what part she had gotten as she was. Because despite his teasing and such of Natalie and her acting, he loved seeing her on stage, especially with the glow that seemed to come from performances.
As they walked into the foyer of the auditorium, Natalie smiled seeing all of the other boys already assembled, as they were doubtless anxious to see what she had gotten as well. And they had all promised that they would meet first in the auditorium to celebrate the casting, and subconsciously knew that they would be there to help with damage control if things went bad.
“There you are! And we thought you would have camped outside the doors all night, and yet you’re the last one to get here.”
Natalie giggled at Frank’s greeting before trying to glance over the crowd at the bulletin board to see if the casting was posted yet. She heard a few reactions from the crowd, no doubt from someone in her theater class, and she knew that the postings were up. She grinned and rushed over, trying to get through the crowd, or at least get to a spot where she could see. Although quickly enough as the people who had already found out their part were moving aside, Natalie felt a hand take hers and pull her up to the front. She smiled seeing that it was Gerard, who pointed at the casting with a grin.
“Look, Natalie. Team Bernstein wins!”
She turned her attention to the list and scanned the list, seeing her friends’ names, and then she giggled as she saw her own name. She followed the line out to see what part she had gotten, not even having checked to see the name of the production yet.
“Persephone ...... Natalie Bryar. ............ Wait, is this Greek mythology?”
“Yep, an original work that Mrs. Smith is debuting here. Check out the other parts. Even Frankie is listed.”
Natalie looked up at Gerard with a bit of a grin at the thought of Frank in the musical. He had stuck around the afternoon of auditions, as he claimed he had nothing else to do. And so in order to be able to sit in on the auditions, he had hopped up onstage and auditioned as well. Gerard pointed to the posting and Natalie turned back to see who else was cast for what parts, her eyes searching for the two actors she would be working the closest with, the ones playing Demeter and Hades.
“Hades ...... Gerard Way. Oh my god, Gee! This is great! ......... Demeter ...... Claire Montreat. Oh my god, this is great! Team Bernstein wins!”
“I know! Look at the other castings now.”
Gerard quickly returned the high five and motioned for Natalie to look back at the board. She scanned the list for the other member of their team first, and giggled at the casting. Right across from Alex McPherson was the name Ares. She thought it would be interesting to see the bubbly Brit playing the hateful god of war. She scanned the list for the other two familiar names, smiling as she noticed Harper was cast as Apollo, and thought she would die of giggles seeing Frank’s casting.
“Frankie is Pan. How fitting.”
“Yeah, I know. Let’s go tell him.”
Natalie took his hand and followed him out of the crowd and back over to where the other boys were waiting. She could barely stifle a giggle at the surprise they would have for Frank. Although she managed to keep a straight face, even going so far as to look as if she had gotten bad news.
“So, what did you two get? We all know that you’re both amazing, so what parts?”
“Frankie got in. Even he got a part.”
Natalie managed to look genuinely put out, and almost caused Gerard to giggle as he understood what she was doing, and decided to play along and see how far they could pull the others along. He was a bit surprised as he glanced over to see what looked like tears in her eyes. Boy, she was good. Mikey reached out and wrapped an arm around her shoulders as he was standing on the other side of her.
“It’s okay. I’m sure you did great anyways.”
“Yeah, Natalie. Oh, Frankie, you’re Pan. It’s a Greek mythology show that Mrs. Smith is debuting. Rehearsals start tonight at seven. So now you have something to do.”
“Pan? The goat dude?”
“Yes. Why? Are you complaining?”
Natalie managed to make the question seem slightly offended, and barely suppressed a grin at the reactions she was getting from the other guys. She knew that Gerard had no doubt figured out what she was doing, and gave him a quick discreet wink while the others seemed not to be looking.
But the charade was not long lived, as Bob seemed to notice how Natalie was acting, and burst out laughing, earning strange looks from all of the other boys. He managed to calm down enough to shake his head while still chuckling as Natalie pretended to cry. She was getting good at this acting stuff. She had almost had him fooled for a second. But then he realized that she would probably have simply shrugged it off and went about the day as normal until they were at home, if things hadn’t went her way.
“Natie, you’re getting good. You almost fooled me. So, what parts did you two get?”
Natalie knew the moment that Bob had figured out her little ploy, as he had burst out laughing. She turned and gave him a genuine scowl for ruining her spot of fun. She crossed her arms angrily and stood there trying to look angry. Although she heard Gerard giggling from beside her and knew that the fun was over, for now at least. She looked over to see the confused looks on Frank, Ray, and Mikey’s faces and couldn’t keep from giggling any longer.
“Damn you, Bobert. I was having fun too. I have a running joke with Bobert that if I get a really great part, I tend to pretend I didn’t even get cast. So I wanted to see if I could fool you guys.”
Gerard was now full out laughing at Natalie’s antics and the other guys’ reactions. Frank dissolved into laughter as well, Ray had merely just shaken his head chuckling under his breath, and Mikey looked hopelessly confused. Gerard held his hand up trying to catch his breath, while Natalie giggled beside him. Bob seemed to be the first to recover from their laughing fit.
“So, again, which parts did you two get?”
“I’m Persephone. And Gee was typecast ... as Hades.”
At the joke, the group dissolved into laughter again, laughing even more at the mock offended face from Gerard. Although this time it was Mikey who recovered first.
“So, you two are playing together, right? That’s cool.”
“Mikey knows his mythology. I’m glad to hear that. And yes, it seems we shall be playing opposite each other. Another one of our teammates is playing Demeter, so it’s a team section as well.”
Any more attempts at conversation were stopped as the first bell rang, signaling the start of school. The friends went their separate ways to their first classes, making plans to meet up after school for a celebratory pizza party before rehearsals.

A/N: Okay, so I know that I'm not the best at making descriptions and such, so I'm going to post some of the things that might make it easier to understand some of my thought process behind me and my plot bunnies. First off, for the appearances of all the guys in the fic, I have found which music video comes closest to my ideas (I love them all however they decide to look at the moment, so don't think that these are my fave appearances of each of them). Feel free to imagine them looking as however you care, these are just how I have pictured them (for various reasons) ... I'm not that picky, and certainly not very descriptive. :-P
Gerard Way: "Helena" music video (minus the half-dead makeup) ... think normal face and such, with just the hairstyle type of the video
Ray Toro: "I Don't Love You" music video (this is also the same as the "Teenagers" video but I think you get a better view in this one)
Frank Iero: "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" music video
Mikey Way: "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" music video (with his hair a bit darker shade ... almost like in "Ghost of You" video)
Bob Bryar: "Teenagers" music video (this is also the same as the "I Don't Love You" video, but I think you get a better view in this one)
As for some general ideas, the basic idea for the fic came from the video for "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" with some own ideas from my plot bunnies. The ideas for the junior officer training and other base stuff came in part from the video for "Ghost of You" and part from other novels and things (along with my plot bunnies).
I hope this brief glimpse into the brains of me and my plot bunnies has helped some in whatever way you needed it. Review and let me know how you like/hate/whatever the clarifying of the ideas and such. I love the reviews and they make me happy. *hugs* :)
