"You take away the old
Show me the new
And I feel like I can fly
When I stand next to you."

"Kell, come here," Carrie laughed as she, Andrew, and Michael viewed the film for the shoot. Kelly was pacing behind them.
"No, I'm good. You choose. I trust you," Kelly replied.
"They came out really good. I promise."
"I believe you."
Carrie rolled her eyes as she reached out, wrapping an arm around the Texan, and pulled her to her side so that she could see the computer screen. Kelly bit her bottom lip as she felt Carrie's arm secure itself around her lower back.
"See," Carrie smiled. "No big deal."
"I just hate looking at myself," she replied.
"Why?"
"Cause it's weird," Kelly pointed out. "And I'm always finding ways to pick myself apart. And the fact that I'm standing next to you, come on now, that's not even fair."
"You look great," Carrie assured as the two guys nodded in response.
"She's right," Michael agreed. "These came out better than I hoped."
"Can we just pick how ever many we need and go?" Kelly asked, shifting back and forth on her feet.
"Well, actually, we're not picking them until I have time to really go over them," Michael replied. "So, you two are free to go if you want."
Kelly turned to Carrie with hopeful eyes.
"Just say the word," Carrie grinned.
"The word," Kelly replied quickly.

"So where to?" Carrie asked as they got into her car. Ashley had left in Kelly's car earlier because she had previously made plans.
"You got a new car," Kelly realized as she looked around the inside of the vehicle.
"Not new," Carrie shook her head. "Just different. I've had it for a while. You like it?"
"Honestly, I feel like I'm in my grandma's car."
"At least you're honest," Carrie replied. "I don't like it much either, but it's rather inconspicuous. Most people wouldn't expect this car to belong to anyone important."
"Yea, but I bet if you told them it belonged to you, they wouldn't be surprised," Kelly smirked.
"Are you calling me a grandma?"
Kelly shrugged, her eyes holding a mischievous glint that made Carrie smile. The short Texan beside her just had so much life in her, it was so great to just sit back and watch her.
"So where to?" Carrie repeated.
"Oh, so you're my chauffer now?"
Carrie laughed.
"You need one of those cute little chauffer hats if you're gonna be my driver."
"What is this? Driving Ms. Kelly?"
"Oh, I love that movie," Kelly grinned.
"Movie buff?" Carrie asked, finding that she was still interested in knowing more her.
"Just love anything that can take me away from this place, even if only for an hour or two," she replied.
"You read much?"
"Too much," Kelly laughed. "I'm such a nerd, seriously."
"You're not a nerd. You're just real."
"Yep," Kelly sighed. "Girl next door. That's me."
"You say it like it's a bad thing."
"It's a nice way of saying I'm plain."
Carrie scoffed, "Trust me. You are anything but plain."
Kelly turned, studying Carrie.
The country singer blushed under her gaze, "So, destination?"
"Oh, um, it's up to you," she answered. "I mean, I'm free if you wanna do something."
"Yea," Carrie nodded, giving her a sincere smile. "Sounds fun."

"Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Here we go," Carrie said, unlocking her door and entering her house, followed by Kelly. "Ace!" the country singer called out as they walked fully into her home and into the living room.
"This is really nice," Kelly commented. "I didn't really get a chance to look around last time."
"Go ahead," Carrie replied. "I'm gonna go find out what he's up to now."
Kelly nodded, walking around the giant room. She ran her fingers along a shelf of the entertainment center, her eyes scanning the various movies up there. She pulled one out that sounded unfamiliar and began to read over the back cover.
"Found something good?" Carrie asked from behind her, making her jump.
"God," Kelly breathed.
"Sorry," she laughed as the Texan turned around. "This is Ace."
Kelly looked at the dog in her arms and frowned.
"What? You're not scared of dogs are you?" Carrie asked, taking a step back.
"You dress your dog in clothes?"
"He's cute," she grinned.
"He's a dog," Kelly pointed out. "Poor thing's probably humiliated."
Carrie narrowed her eyes at the other singer.
"There's nothing wrong with dressing your dog," Carrie frowned.
"Except for the fact that he's not human."
"Dog hater."
"I love dogs," Kelly laughed. "Their owners, not so much."
Carrie's face fell.
"I'm joking," she quickly replied, taking a step towards her.
"I think he's cute," Carrie said softly, a subconscious pout playing on her lips.
Kelly closed her eyes, realizing that she had hurt the country singer's feelings, "He's an adorable dog."
Carrie looked at her skeptically.
"He is," Kelly nodded. "And I bet he'd be even cuter not dressed up."
"You're hopeless," Carrie smiled. "So did you find a movie?"
"Um, yea," she said, raising her hand that still held the dvd.
"Good choice," Carrie nodded, taking the movie and putting it in the dvd player before joining Kelly on the couch. "Do you want something to drink or eat before we start?"
"I'm good," she smiled.
Carrie rubbed her eyes tiredly, looking over at the clock that read 1a.m. She looked down at the Texan who was curled up in a tiny ball against her, resting her head on Carrie's shoulder as she huddled under a blanket. Her slow, even breathing and the fact that she hadn't said anything in half an hour signaled that she was sound asleep.
Carrie frowned as she felt her arm that was sandwiched between the two of them growing numb. She slowly raised it, Kelly's mumbled protests making her smile. As soon as it was out the way, Kelly scooted even more into her, and the only place for Carrie to put her arm was around the other singer. She was surprised to find how well Kelly seemed to fit against her.
She moved the pillow that was behind her to the corner of the sofa and slowly readjusted herself so that she could lay down, taking the Texan with her. She modified the blanket that was over Kelly so that it was covering both of them as she yawned tiredly. Carrie smiled again as she felt Kelly's arm wrap around her stomach, holding her tight. However, when Kelly snuggled into Carrie's neck, her warm breath tickling the country singer's throat, she suddenly found it hard to breathe.
She wrapped her free arm around her as well as she struggled to concentrate on something other than the small girl in her arms so that she could fall asleep. Kelly started to shift in her arms, and Carrie looked down at her worriedly as a whimper escaped her lips. Her face had gone from peaceful to somewhat fearful, and Carrie felt her heart melt.
"Shh," she whispered in her ear as she rubbed Kelly's back soothingly. "It's just a dream."
Carrie kissed her forehead gently as she felt the Idol claming in her arms. Carrie smiled as Kelly snuggled back into her, realizing that she must have done something right.
