Scene ten
(Damon busts inside his shared room with Graham. Graham is reading a book on the bed, and looks up, startled.)
Damon: Graham!
Graham: Where have you been all day, Damon?
Damon: You won’t believe it!
Graham: I’m curious! Tell me!
Damon, still gasping: Well, I was walking around with Liam, picking flowers, you know, where you left us.
Graham, putting one arm around him: I’ve missed you.
Damon: I’ve missed you, too. We had quite a nice conversation, really, about music and art and stuff, and we weren’t even fighting. But then he started about you.
Graham: Uh-oh.
Damon: Told me he knew everything. He’s seen us last night. I bet there are camera’s up here somewhere.
Graham, turning pale: What?!
Damon: I know…But it gets even better. He told me you were a bad influence. A nuisance to Blur and a nuisance to me, in the future. Because you drink too much.
Graham, taking Damon’s hands desperately: I’m trying not to! I really am! I haven’t drunk anything today! Only tea!
Damon: There’s no need to cry about it. It’s just the Gallaghers again, talking shit.
Graham: Yeah, I guess.
Damon: But it doesn’t stop there. I got mad and ran away from him. I hid myself somewhere in a rose garden. Then they both walked in there. Talked about me and what you guys were doing back at the house. Then… Oh man, I didn’t believe it myself. Liam asked Noel how much time they had. Noel said they didn’t have much, but he would make it up to him tonight.
Graham: …
Damon: Those guys are brothers, Graham, but they hug. And they hold hands. And they kiss. And god knows what more, in their bedrooms tonight. Noel told Liam how much he loved him. And I was there and I heard it. It was gross.
Graham: So it’s incest?
Damon: I’m pretty damn sure it is!
Graham: Jesus.
Damon: I know! Being openminded is really getting hard around here!
Graham: So you’ve found your way back on your own.
Damon: Yes. Did you save some food for me?
Graham: I did. And a bunch of cookies. I knew you’d like them.
Damon, kissing Graham’s nose: Thank you!
Graham, blushing: You’re welcome.
(The phone rings. Damon picks it up.)
Damon: Damon and Graham here. What’s up?
Liam: Come on down! We’re having coffee and snacks by the fireplace, and watching a movie on our big screen!
Damon: Okay, we’ll be there in a minute.
(Damon puts down the receiver.)
Damon: Well, time to socialize.
Graham: With those two? I don’t think I’ll be able to without running off to the bathroom.
Damon: Let’s try, alright? Just for the weekend.
Graham: Okay.
Damon: What’s wrong?
Graham: I wanna stay here with you.
Damon: Aw, Graham wants a kiss, doesn’t he?
Graham: I want you.
Damon, giving Graham a quick kiss: Ssh, Graham. Not now. It’ll give them ideas.
Graham, pessimistic: As if they don’t know everything yet.
