Chapter 10: The First Party
Andy walked into the kitchen of the house she was renting and smiled. She crossed her arms and leaned against the door frame. She watched as Lynn danced around the kitchen singing along to the music playing from the small stereo. This was something Andy would never get tired of and she knew it. Lynn was in one of her button down shirts and basketball shorts. Andy shook her head with a smile. She couldn't wait to see where their new life would take them.
Lynn turned back to the stove and Andy finally walked fully into the kitchen. She walked up to her and wrapped her arms around Lynn.
"Good morning beautiful." Andy said softly kissing her neck.
Lynn smiled and leaned against Andy, "Good morning gorgeous."
"What are you making?"
"Wanted to give your Nutella pancakes a try. Also cooked up some turkey bacon for us."
"Smells good. How long have you been up?" Andy asked letting go of her and went over to the coffee machine.
"A couple of hours. You came to bed late though. Everything okay?"
Andy sighed, "Yeah, I just thought about something." She told her as she grabbed a couple of coffee mugs mugs from the cabinet. As well as a couple of plates.
"What's that?"
"Well, Trey, Cody, Antony, Brendan, Brandon and Clint have been a part of my life for five years. Sure I have Michael as a groomsman. He was my first friend I made there." She started to look for everything she needed for their coffees.
"I guess I just want them to be more a part of this wedding. I mean more than ushers, to be honest. If it wasn't for Trey to get me out and about with my knee, I would have been even more depressed and angry. If it wasn't for Cody, I would still be this shy person. If it wasn't for Clint my sense of humor would still be dry. If it wasn't for Antony, I would not have been able to put my leadership skills to the test. If it wasn't for Brendan, I would still be stuck in one spot. If it wasn't for Brandon, I would still be this stand off intimidating person." Andy sighed shaking her head as she finished putting the finishing touches on their coffees.
"Well, they are going to be making the food for the wedding. Except for Brandon. But what did you have in mind?" Lynn asked as she started to stack a couple of pancakes on the plates.
Andy shrugged and walked over to the small kitchen table setting down the coffee mugs. "I have a few ideas."
"Yeah? What's that?" Lynn asked as she finished putting their plates together and went to the table to set them down. Andy returned with silverware, syrup, and butter.
"What if Clint and Melissa both officiate? I mean, Melissa did a great job, but she knows you and Clint knows me. So Melissa can talk about you and Clint can talk about me. Then, before the vows they both can say something about us as a couple."
They both sat down at the table and Lynn nodded, "That's actually a good idea. It's something different. Now how about the other guys?"
"Well Cody is great at talking to a crowd, so he could MC the reception. Brendan is a jokester pretty much. Maybe he could be like the jester of the court and just go around and pull little pranks on people. Might have a good laugh." Andy said shaking her head with a chuckle.
"That will definitely be different." Lynn said with a laugh.
"Trey is pretty strong. Could help with some heavy lifting that may need to be done. Well I was actually going to ask you about Brandon and Shey."
Lynn cut into her pancake and looked at Andy, "Ask away."
"You have an extra groomsman, and bridesmaid. I was wondering if I could use them as my other set. I was gonna call either Kelly or Matty if they wanted to be the photographer instead."
Lynn smiled, "I think Kelly might have some free time. Why don't I contact her?"
Andy nodded, "Okay sounds good. See if she can be here in a couple of days."
"I was also wondering if you were going to include them or not. So that just leaves Antony. What do you want him to do?"
Andy held up her finger as she closed her eyes. She had just took a bite of her pancake and she was enjoying it.
"Good?" Lynn asked her with a big smile.
"Mmmhmmm, oh my! Baby! These are amazing!"
"Well I had a good teacher." Lynn leaned over and gave Andy a quick kiss.
Andy sighed and shook her head, "These are better than mine. I gotta say I think I finally met my match with these pancakes."
"I'm glad you like them. Maybe I'll make them for our first breakfast in our house."
Andy put down her fork and took Lynn's hand in hers, "You can make these any time you want." She kissed the back of her hand and they continued their original conversation.
"So what about Antony?" Lynn asked.
"Well, I was thinking why don't I do something for him. He's done so much for me. I have this platform and maybe I can do something in advertising. Maybe get him some more business. Not that he needs it. But I mean he has about eight locations and he's trying to expand all through the east coast."
"What about a merger between your Uncle and him? They could come up with some sort of kind of restaurant Italian meets Southern or something?"
Andy nodded thinking about it, "I can have them meet and see where it goes. Maybe they could trade ideas or something. Or see if he would be willing to open up a location in Boston and have me run it."
Lynn nodded and then really looked at Andy and smiled. After a moment or two Andy looked at her and smiled back, "What?"
"I was just thinking about everything we've been through and it's led us here. There were so many obstacles in our way and look at us. I mean, normally after the so called honeymoon phase things get rough. For a while there I thought we were done for. But we didn't give up on each other."
Andy took Lynn's hand in hers, "Well, it was you that didn't want to give up on me. That was different for me. It was scary. I didn't know how to react but," Andy sighed and put her other hand on top of Lynn's.
"For the first time, I had someone believe in us. Believe in me. When I thought I was losing you. Because of you, for the first time I'm not scared to be open about things. No matter how difficult it is. It was you that was able to crack me. One of the reasons I fell in love with you."
Lynn smiled, "You know, I never thought I would see myself getting married. Then, you turned that corner with Ethan and I saw this flash of you with a smile looking amazing under this alter, with Ethan by your side. I mean, even though I was in one relationship before you, I've been on dates but nothing sparked, and they never got my heart racing like you did. I always thought that love at first sight was a myth. Until you, I fell so head over heels for you so fast I was afraid of everything. But you let me move at my own pace and never pressured me into anything. You let me be me. You saw me as Lyndsey, not Lynn Gunn. One of the reasons I fell in love with you."
Andy smiled and leaned in towards her. Before their lips met there was a rapid knocking at the door. They both looked at the door and then back at each other with confused looks. Andy gave Lynn a quick kiss on the lips then stood up.
Andy reached the door as the knocking continued. She looked through the peephole and then rushed back to Lynn, "Uh when do our parties start today?"
Lynn looked at the clock on the wall, it read ten fifteen, "I thought they were supposed to start at five. What's going on?" She asked standing up slowly going over to Andy.
"Well they're all here."
"Wait what?!"
They both rushed to the front door and Lynn looked the peep hole.
"Come on you two! We have everything set to go!" Shey said.
Andy opened the door and everyone rushed in. She and Lynn both barely had time to move to the side. Once everyone was inside Lynn and Andy saw everyone in the living room talking excitedly.
"Guys what's going on?" Andy asked.
Ethan smiled, "Well, we know you two had planned out the parties, BUT...." he stopped and looked at Wendy.
"We've decided to take matters into our own hands." She said with a smirk.
Andy held up her hand, "Okay, wait, wait, before y'all do anything. I need to call Brandon."
"Why?" Kayla asked.
Andy smiled and took Lynn's hand in hers, "Well, since Lynn has an extra bridesmaid and groomsman, she's going to let me have another set. I would like Brandon and Shey. I know I asked Shey to be our photographer but I would rather have her stand up with me. We already have a photographer in mind to take her place."
Everyone looked at each other with knowing smiles. The couple looked at each other with confused looks then back at the group. Just then Brandon walked in with a smile.
"How's that for timing?" Brandon asked with a smirk. Andy and Lynn around seeing him walk in and join the group.
"How-" Andy started to ask but Shey held up her hand.
She walked up to Andy and gave her a hug, "Thank you for letting me be part of your big day." She let go of her friend and went over to him.
"As for Brandon we knew you wanted him to be part of it somehow so we figured you would put him in the wedding party last minute. We didn't know about having me though." She said with a small laugh.
"Seems like y'all know me better than I know myself." Andy said smiling.
"Now you two go get ready and then we're in charge." Hayley said smirking.
"Um, before we do, you all," Andy said looking at the guys of the group, "Don't get too crazy with my wife. Same with the ladies for tomorrow."
"I can't drink guys, or do anything extreme, doctor's orders." Lynn told them.
"Why not? Come on there's something else going on. I have a hunch but I don't wanna say anything." Angel said.
"All we're saying is she can have a good time, but just be careful. She was under a lot of stress for a while it took a toll on her body. She's still kind of healing you could say." Andy explained.
"Okay, fine, fine, we figured something was going to stop us from drinking tonight so we actually decided to have our drinking night with you anyway. The girls will have their drinking night tonight and tomorrow us." Justin said smiling.
"Now go and get ready and let us take you both out!" Kayla said with a smile. The couple looked at each other and left the living room. When they were out of earshot Angel stood in front of everyone.
"Hayley, Wendy, Shey, you three know what's going on. Tell us!" She said looking at the three of them.
The three women looked at each other and just smiled. They looked back at Angel and Wendy spoke, "Look, it's not for us to tell. I'm sure they will when they're ready. But for the next two days, let's just enjoy our time with them until their wedding."
Angel sighed and nodded, "You're right. I'm sorry, this whole thing with them being married already kind of threw me for a loop. Now there's something else they're keeping from us and it's driving me crazy."
"Hey but you noticed the two of them kind of disappeared at your reception." Alex pointed out.
Angel laughed, "Yeah, well it was kind of obvious. Lynn said she would be right back. After about five minutes I couldn't find Andy. Then, my cousin came up to me like twenty minutes later saying she heard a loud moan from a storage closet. About ten minutes later Lynn comes back kind of disheveled. Andy comes back with a big smile. I don't know how you all missed it."
"Well today let's just focus on them and show them a good time." Addy said with a smile and everyone agreed. The next two days were just about fun and having a good time with their friends. That's all that matters.
*****************************************************************************
"I can't believe you talked me into this." Andy said shaking her head as the lady was looking over her nails.
"I can't believe you never got a mani and pedi before." Kayla said with a smile.
"No way in hell someone is touching my feet. No, no, no, no, no." Andy shook her head vigorously.
"Oh, come on! It's not that bad." Shey said smile looking through the nail polishes.
"You mean to tell me you went all your whole life without this." Brittany said looking around and Andy nodded.
"She's more into the whole guy thing. Sports, taking her truck mudding, fishing, hunting. Okay well women do that too. But she's just more comfortable about being a guy's guy." Wendy explained and Andy nodded.
"Why is that? Were you ever interested in like dolls or make up?" Hayley asked.
Andy shrugged trying not to jerk her hand away from the lady who was using a nail file on her fingernails. "When I was a kid I was, then dad introduced me to baseball, football, and soccer. I kind of lost interest in dolls and wanted to do sports growing up. I think it was the second grade I was hanging out with boys more. There were these two girls in my class and I wanted to be their boyfriend. So I thought hanging out with the boys I would turn into a boy."
"I mean you're in second grade your imagination runs wild. Needless to say, I'm still a girl and I turned out alright. Okay, I don't like this whole nail filing thing. I really don't."
They all laughed and shook their heads. When Andy and Lynn explained how the parties were going to work. The girls came together and decided to do things Andy would be uncomfortable with. Not just to only have a go at her, just to have some fun and just spend time with her.
"What else have y'all got planned for me today?" Andy asked and they all looked at each other with smiles.
"What? Come on! What?"
"Let's just say that you're going to be doing stuff today that you wouldn't normally do." Angel said with a smirk.
"Oh Lord! Make overs are next aren't they?"
"We can neither deny or confirm that." Kim said with a smile.
"Oh don't tell me you booked a spa day too!"
"Again we can neither deny or confirm that." Lisa said smiling.
"I wonder how Lynn's doing with the guys." Lauren said.
"Probably having more fun than I am right now. I love y'all and I'm so grateful for this, but there is a baseball game on tonight I need to catch."
"Okay, pay up, who said four hours?" Kayla said and Shey raised her hand.
"Since we are getting our nails done, just pay me when we get to our next destination." Shey said as she sat back in the chair as the lady was massaging her calves.
"Pay up? What?" Andy looked at them confused.
"We had a bet to see how long it would take for you to mention some sort of sports game on tonight." Angel explained.
"It's postseason! Braves are in it! They have to win at least three games to get to the Series!" Andy said passionately.
"You take sports way too seriously," Crystal said with a smile.
Andy looked at her cousin, "I'm so glad you two were able to make it. I wish Jake was here."
Katie looked at her and nodded, "Us too, but he's here with us in spirit."
"When does grandpa come in?" Kayla asked.
"Um, I think tomorrow tonight. Took a LOT of convincing for him to fly on a plane. But Aunt Carol is coming with him to calm him down." Wendy said.
"He doesn't fly much. Last time I remember him flying was when he and grandma came to see us one last time before we went off to Okinawa." Andy said and the lady smiled at her, telling her she was done with her nails. Andy thanked her and stood up. She looked at her nails and they looked perfect. They were really nice, but she knew she wouldn't do this again.
She looked around and everyone else was getting their pedicures done. Andy shook her head and went to pay for hers, but Lisa called out to her.
"Don't you dare! This is on us. Everything today is on us!"
Andy put up her hands in defeat and looked at her watch, "Maybe I can get dad to record the game." She pulled out her cell phone and called her dad.
Wendy looked over at her and shook her head, "I seriously hope she won't be watching any sports on her wedding day."
"Oh we have to make sure of it. I just hope Lynn is ready for all this." Kayla said with a smile.
"Wait, wait, the Florida, Georgia game we HAVE to watch that one." Brittany said and Wendy nodded.
"Yeah, we do. Maybe we can take a trip down and watch it together."
"Maybe make a party out of it." Katie said smiling.
"Aren't you two Alabama fans?" Kayla asked and the two sisters smiled sheepishly.
"Well we can't really blame you. Y'all grew up in Bama so makes sense." Wendy teased.
"Okay, everything is all set for the next stop." Lisa said as she came back from the cashier.
"Off to get makeovers!" Kim said clapping her hands with delight.
"Lord give me strength." Andy whispered but had a smile on her face looking at them. Today was going to be a long day.
**************************************************************************
Meanwhile Lynn was having a great time with the guys at the amusement park. She was scared they would want to do some girly stuff. But when they left the house Ethan smiled and asked if she was ready for some adventure. About an hour later they pulled up to the park and she smiled.
She couldn't believe it. Alex smiled and told her that they figured she could use some fun and just have a good day. Plus it was October so a lot of Halloween stuff was going on. It wouldn't really kick off until dusk, but Lynn was excited to ride some rides.
After riding some calm rides they suggested one of the roller coasters and she was excited. They started with the tame one and after that they would get some lunch.
Ethan took them to his favorite spot to get something to eat and he told her that everything was on the guys. She smiled and thanked them. Once they all settled and got what they wanted to eat, they sat down and enjoyed their lunch.
"Thank you guys for this. I didn't know I needed this." Lynn smiled looking around at them.
"Least we could do. Besides you spent a year secretly planning wedding. You could use some fun in your life. I mean not saying marriage is gonna be fun, but I'm sure Andy will make your life fun filled." Brian said with a wink.
"I wonder how Andy's doing." Addy said with a shake of his head.
"Probably miserable. Wendy told me they planned to do manis, pedis, makeovers, shopping, spa, stuff that Andy NEVER does." Ethan said with a laugh.
"They are NOT doing that to her!" Lynn said with wide eyes and the guys nodded.
Brandon started laughing, "I just checked my phone and there's a post on Brittany's profile. Everyone looks so happy and then there's Andy with a weird smile."
He passed his phone around and everyone had a good laugh. Andy looked so uncomfortable with them, but she was putting on a brave face.
"Did you know they made a bet on how long it would take Andy to mention some sort of sport?" Justin said and again Lynn's eyes went wide.
"They did not!"
Justin nodded, "It's true. How long do you think she went?"
"I think two or three hours. Braves are in the postseason and if they win this series they go onto the World Series." Addy explained as he took a bite of his food. Everyone looked at him as if he grew another face.
"What? I follow sports too. Andy, Kayla, Brittany, and I all take part in the college football fantasy league as well. So next year just be prepared for a lot of phone calls and video chats from us." Addy said with a smile looking at Lynn.
"Are you sure you're willing to spend the rest of your life with a sports fanatic?" Ethan asked holding up his fork pretending to use it as a microphone and holding it in front of Lynn's face.
She laughed, "Of course I am. I know what I signed up for."
"No further questions. But we can tell you a few things about her. Like she's really into musicals. She LOVES them. She cries during Phantom of The Opera, and The Greatest Showman. I mean like every time she watches those she has tears running down her cheeks."
"How do you know that?" Brandon asked.
"Well when she has one of her days she puts Phantom of The Opera on. She told me about the other one. In case you guys didn't notice, when she came back from the hospital during one of the songs she was crying. Of course she wiped her tears away quickly. But it's that one song that gets her every time."
"Okay, what else should I be prepared for? I mean I already know about the sports, and you just told me about the musicals. The working thing. Anything else?" Lynn said looking between Ethan, Addy, Michael, and Brandon.
"Writing, watch out for her writing. She could wake up at any time and just start writing all night." Ethan said.
"She tends to repeat her stories. So watch out for that." Brandon told her with a wink.
"Video games all night. She'll lose track of time when she starts and next thing you know you're waking up and she's still playing." Addy said with a nod.
"She's always doing some sort of project. Sometimes she'll have an idea start it, but may not finish it. But I think she's starting to finish everything she starts now." Michael taking a sip of his drink.
"Movie marathons, those are the best with her though. She loves those. Just having a day to watch movies well into the next day. Or watching her favorite shows from start to finish." Ethan told her.
"Okay, but the question is," David started to say, "Are you two ready to live with each other? I mean sure, you had the tour, and your visits with each other. But you two kind of skipped that moving in part."
Lynn nodded finishing her food. She wiped her mouth with a napkin and looked at her brother, "Oh, we've talked about that. I'm gonna let her vape in the house, but not too much. We're gonna split the household chores and stuff like that."
"Speaking of which Andy is really domesticated. When she was living with Ashley she did ALL the housework. She picks Sundays to deep clean. Like music blasting and she just goes." Ethan explained and started to gather their empty plates.
"By the way Andy might want Clint at her party tomorrow. She's going to be putting him in the wedding." Lynn said and they all looked at her with a confused look.
"What do you mean?" Brian asked.
"Well, she made a good point about him being a huge part of her life, so she wants him and Melissa to both officiate the wedding."
"That's not a bad idea. Has she called him yet?" Alex asked.
Lynn shrugged, "I'm not sure. I mean she's with the girls, so she might call him tonight."
"That actually works out since tomorrow is his normal day off. But he might be spending it with his son during the day. He may come later that night though." Michael told him. He stood up and started to help Ethan clear away their trash. Once the two gathered everything they got up and went to the nearest trash can. After throwing away everything they came back and sat down with everyone.
"So what's next?" Brian asked.
Ethan checked his watch, "Well we still got a few hours until the Halloween stuff takes off. I know there's like a show in the next thirty minutes or so. It's like an Irish dance thing. It's really cool. They also have this animal show and they talk about the wolves. We could hit those and check out some more rides."
"I like that idea. What about tonight after we're done here?" Lynn asked.
"More scares in store for you." Alex said in his best Dracula voice.
"GUYS! OH MY GOD! THEY PUT MAKE UP ON ANDY!" Brandon said laughing. Alex grabbed his phone and looked at the picture and started to laugh.
"NO WAY!" Brian said taking the phone from Alex.
"Dude! Wow! She looks so weird!" David said looking over Brian's shoulder along with Justin.
Ethan shook his head and his phone started to ring. He smiled looking at Andy's number popping up.
"Hey buddy having a good time?" He asked with a smirk and finally looked at the picture and he started to laugh.
"You saw it didn't you?"
"Bro! You look so different!"
"Ha ha ha very funny! Dude this is killing me! I love them, but I'm dying here! We're going to a spa next! What the fuck do they do at a spa?!"
"Relax don't they do massages or something? You could use one."
"I'm NOT getting a fucking facial. They better not have me fake and bake. Oh shit! They do mud baths! I'm not getting a fucking mud bath bro!"
Ethan laughed and Lynn looked at him. She softly asked if it was Andy and he nodded. She motioned for him to give her his phone and he did.
"Hey babe! Are you having fun?"
"Loads! Please tell me you didn't see me in make up? They've been posting pictures all day."
"Oh, I saw, you look so pretty. I mean that in the most sincerest way. Like really you do."
"Thank you, wait til you see my nails. But I don't know how much more of this I can take. I love them all, but I'm hoping to do something guyish later."
"Just hang in there. Enjoy your time with them. I'm sure they have something else planned for you."
"How about you? Are you having a good time?"
"Oh I'm having a blast. We're at the amusement park. We just got done having some lunch."
"Be careful on those rides I know the harnesses are pretty tight."
Lynn smiled, "I know, don't worry I'm being careful. I'm not really showing yet. I even called my doctor. She said I should be fine since it's still kind of early."
"Okay, I'll let you get back to it. I'm glad you're having a good time. I love you."
"I love you, try to have some fun. Here's Ethan." She gave the phone back to Ethan and she went back to sit down with the guys.
"Hey bitch."
"Asshole! But seriously, what do they do at spas?!"
"Andrea, have a good time. Tomorrow you'll be with us and we have a great day planned for you. Now just enjoy your time with the girls and just let them do what they wanna do."
He heard Andy sigh and he knew she knew he was right. After a few moments of silence she finally spoke, "Okay, I'll try. I just knew something like this was going to happen. They wanna go shopping at the mall. I'm gonna see if I can hide myself in the bookstore and couple of others. Might get the new Assassin's Creed if I can."
"If they let you. Okay, we're getting ready to take in the Irish dance show. I'll see you tomorrow. Love you bitch."
"Love you asshole."
Ethan hung up his phone and shook his head, "Okay, let's go see some dancing." He smiled picking up his drink.
They all left the seating area with smiles and laughter talking about Andy's make up. Brian and Justin had their arms around Lynn.
"I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to see the look on Andy's face when she sees you walking down the aisle." Brian said.
"Do you have your dress picked out? Are you even going to wear a dress?" Alex asked.
Lynn nodded, "Yeah, gonna get fitted tomorrow for our dresses. Angel requested there be mimosas. When do you guys get fitted for your suites?"
"Day after tomorrow." Addy said adjusting his sunglasses.
"What are you guys have planned for Andy?" Lynn asked as they got in line for the show.
"Well we were actually gonna take her away tonight and drive up north. Around this time she goes and scouts for places to hunt. She and her dad have lifetime hunting licenses and they also have extra other licenses just to be safe. Another thing you gotta look out for. She has hunting trips between October and January. Well when she has the time for them." Ethan said with a smile.
"Gun or bow?" Lynn asked.
"Oh they do both. We also plan on going to the gun range. Then zip lining, ropes course, might go mudding. Play catch, catch a movie, you know guy stuff." Ethan told her as the line began to slowly move.
"Ethan, that reminds me. Andy told me to remind you that you both are due for your gun course." Addy said.
"Oh yeah, it's coming up soon. I have to make sure I take the day off. Let me know when it is." Michael said.
"You own guns too?" Lynn asked.
"I have a small handgun just to keep around the house under lock and key. Oh, Ethan there's a haunted house tour where we're going. Maybe we could fit it in. You know how she loves the ghost stuff."
"Okay, that's one thing she forgot to mention I think. She's into ghosts?"
"Ooohhh yeah, every Saturday night her and I would watch this one paranormal show. She's been following the show since the documentary back in two thousand five. She wants to go to the museum they have. Has she told you about the experiences she had when she was a kid?"
Lynn shook her head as the line came to a stop, "Anything good?"
Ethan shrugged, "I mean I got a little freaked when she told me. Not gonna lie some weird things have happened when we lived together. Sometimes with her too."
"What do you mean?"
Brandon spoke up, "Well there was one time at work we had this crazy lunch rush that wouldn't stop. Andy was leaving for the day and she told me that we were gonna be really slow come dinner rush. Well she was right. We were super dead. Not even a small pop. I never really thought about it until a couple of weeks ago."
"Or how about the time when she called up at the store to tell us that the grease trap for the grill wasn't cleaned out the night before. The weird thing was, her and Ethan weren't working the night before and they had the day off. So I go to check and she was right the grease trap wasn't cleaned out." Michael said.
Addy chuckled and shook his head, "You know when she and her family came down for David's funeral and she video chatted you. After the call ended she sat down and smiled and told us she was going to marry you. Now, at the time we all had a few drinks and we just laughed it off. You two weren't even dating yet, and we all just thought it was the alcohol talking. But look at you two now."
They all chuckled and started to slowly move with the line again. Justin cleared his throat and looked at them, "When we were at Coachella she said that Lauren and I make a cute couple. I just shook my head and laughed. But ever since then her and I have been I don't know, I guess we've kind of started this flirtation going on. I don't know, but I'm starting to really like Lauren."
"Lynn remember our double date?" Brian asked and Lynn nodded.
"Well she asked me why didn't pop the question to Angel. I told her that we were so busy with touring and everything. I just didn't have the time to do it. Then I remembered the camp out would be perfect. I don't know why that idea came into my head, but when she asked me that, I wondered about it. Then, a few days later I was walking around downtown and something told me to go into this small jewelry shop. Next thing I know I'm walking out with an engagement ring." Brian smiled looking down at his wedding ring.
"It's like she has this weird third eye thing going on, but it's like in a good way." Alex said as they entered the building. They followed Ethan and they were able to get seats in the third row. They all sat down and Alex continued.
"It's like she has this aura about her that makes us see who we really can be. I mean, before I met her and Ethan, I was so sure about who I was, then all of sudden they came in our lives and look at us. We're able to be who we want to be. Sure, we already knew, but I feel as though we really know now." Alex said taking Ethan's hand in his.
David nodded, "When I told her about Kara, the first time, she gave me advice. I followed it. Then when I told her about us breaking up, she gave me more advice to win her back. It was like she knew we were meant to be together and she didn't want us to give up on each other."
"What about you Ethan? Anything with you?" Lynn asked nudging his shoulder with hers.
He smiled, "Matter of fact, it was when we got back home from Charlotte. We went back to work and she was prepping in the back. She came rushing out and found me on the line. She asked me when I go on break, I told her and she said to find her when I do. We were out back and she was pacing back and forth for a few minutes. She finally calmed down and told me she saw a flash of you three standing in the back room."
"Wait what? Like when we went to go see you guys?" Alex asked.
Ethan nodded, "I told her maybe she just had that wishful thinking you three would show up. Plus I mean you two just started texting each other. Remember what she said how you three couldn't be there?"
Alex, Lynn, and Brian nodded.
"I think she had like a premonition or something. I don't know, I know she's had a few other things happen too."
"Like what?" Justin asked. Just then the lights flickered and an announcement was heard asking for everyone to not use any recording devices or flash photography. Finally, they said the show would start in five minutes.
"You guys are really going to love this." Ethan said with a smile. They all sat back and waited for the show to start.

"Dad, seriously, this is like torture. I thought we were going to just sit around and play games. Not do all this stuff." Andy said into her phone as she walked down an aisle of the book store. She was able to shake off the girls and sneak off to the bookstore. She loved them all she really did but this was too much for her.
After their makeovers and taking pictures she really wanted to take off the make up, but to keep them happy she kept it on. She felt really weird with it and was getting a lot of weird looks. She just kept her head up and ignored them. Once they got to the mall they all went ahead of her and she was able to go to one of her favorite stores.
"On top of it, I'm starving. But they said not to eat anything for another couple of hours, because we're going somewhere to eat. I love them, I really do, but this is too much. I don't know how much more of this I can take." She said.
"Sweetheart, I know where you're coming from. Trust me your sister and mom would take me on their shopping sprees while you were away. But I did it because I wanted to spend time with them. I enjoyed the time I have with them. So you do that too. You were away from them for a long time and this their time with you."
"That's what everyone else is saying. I don't know dad, I guess I'm just not used to doing all these things. I mean, I'm used to playing catch, going mudding, hunting, stuff like that."
She heard her dad chuckle over the phone, "I know honey, part of me is glad I taught you all those things. The other part is still a little upset about it, but at the same time I watched you grow up enjoying the things I used to enjoy when I was a kid. You also grew up with what your mom enjoyed as a kid. Just think of the kids you and Lynn are going to have. You're going to teach them things, and she's going to teach them things. It's going to be different, but amazing at the same time."
Andy smiled and nodded she knew he was right. "Thanks dad. I guess I'll go find them and see where they're at. By the way, we need to plan a hunting trip. Do we need to renew anything?"
"I'll take care of that, now go enjoy your party with them. You'll be with the guys tomorrow. We'll see you the day after for our family gathering."
"Is there enough room at the house?"
Kevin laughed, "We'll worry about that. Right now you're mom is prepping everything. Oh, by the way, Auntie Leia, and Uncle Jojo are going to be here tomorrow. They were able to get the week off so they can be at the wedding."
"That's great! I was hoping they were going to make it. Plus mom would love having them help out." She heard her mom's voice in the background and smiled.
"Okay, duty calls I'll see you in a couple of days. Best piece of chicken."
Andy chuckled, "Love you too dad." She hung up and sighed. She put her phone in her back pocket and turned around.
"How long were you guys standing there?" Andy asked looking at the group of women smiling back at her. Wendy walked up to her and smiled.
"Long enough to know you aren't really enjoying your time with us."
Andy made a move to say something but Wendy stopped her.
"Look, we know you've been putting on a brave face for us, and to be honest we kind of did this just to have a go at you. We knew you wouldn't feel comfortable and we just wanted to see how long you would last."
"Are you serious?!" Andy almost yelled and the women laughed. She put her hands on her hips and nodded. She started to pace back and forth and shook her head.
She stopped and looked up a them, "I'm gonna go and wash this off my face now." She turned on her heel and made a beeline to the bathroom.
"Oh, but we're still going to the spa!" Shey called after her and Andy raised her hands up in a huff.
"You guys, I think she's had enough. But she really needs to relax when we get to the spa." Crystal said.
Kayla nodded, "Yeah, you're right. I mean, after the spa, we're going to baseball field anyway."
"We did bring a change of clothes for her right?" Katie asked.
"Oh, I made sure of it." Brittany said with a smile.
"Were you two able to get the video game?" Wendy asked looking at Lauren Lisa.
"Yeah, we were a bit confused because you said the latest one. But the guy said there were two. She doesn't have these right?" Lisa asked pulling out the two video games from the plastic bag.
"She doesn't I double checked her video games before we left." Kayla said with a smile. They saw Andy coming back talking on her phone. Lauren and Lisa quickly put the video games bag into the plastic bag.
"Okay sounds great. I'll see you at the wedding." Andy smiled and hung up her phone.
"Everything okay?" Katie asked and Andy nodded.
"Yeah, finishing touches are set for the galleries. Just gotta go see them in January and hopefully have them open up in February. After Wendy's birthday of course." She smiled and put an arm around her little sister.
"We got you a little something." Lauren said stepping up to Andy and giving her the plastic bag.
"A little token from us for putting on a brave face for dealing with us today." Angel said with a smile.
Andy gave them a nervous smile and looked into the bag. After taking out the two video games she quickly looked up at all of them.
"How did you know?"
"Well, we know how much you love this video game series. Figured you wanted these." Shey said smiling.
"I can't wait to play these with the guys." Andy said and everyone laughed.
"Guys, if we wanna make our slot for the spa we gotta get going." Crystal said and they all nodded. They walked out of the bookstore and towards the main mall area. They were all chit chatting about how excited they were about the spa.
Andy made it clear she wasn't going to get a facial or mud bath. They all laughed again and Andy told them that she was serious. She even asked when they were going to eat because she was starving. Shey suggested picking up something along the way. They continued to walk towards the exit and that's when Andy heard a camera click. She turned around and saw Robin standing there. She told everyone she would meet up with them at the car.
When they had their backs turned Andy rushed up to Robin, "What are you doing here?!"
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I'll delete the picture. I swear!"
Andy took in a deep breath and let it out, "Answer my question. What are you doing here?"
"I'm on assignment. I finished early and I wanted to explore the city. I saw you and it was just instinct for me to take a picture."
"Are you working with them?"
Robin shook her head, "No, I even gave the money back. Told them I didn't want any part of their scheme anymore. Last I heard they might be seeing prison time."
Andy nodded, "Delete that picture." Robin nodded as she took her camera and Andy watched her delete it.
"I know this may be too much to ask, but can I have an interview with you?"
Andy scoffed and shook her head, "Seriously?!"
"I should not have asked I'm sorry!"
Andy held up her hand, "It's okay, look, I'll do it, BUT I want your editor in chief there, my PR manager, and I read the article before it goes to print."
"Deal." Robin said with a nod.
"Write this down. I'll give you something to work with until then." Andy watched as Robin's eyes went wide and she started to rummage through her bag. She took out a small notebook and a pen. Andy watched her flip through it until she came to a blank page. When she finally did she clicked her pen and waited for Andy to speak.
"I'm opening two galleries in February. I want you to be the one who covers the openings. I will grant you an exclusive interview in the next few weeks. I am nominated for a photography award. I will be in London for. I will be releasing a new single soon. I am not doing an album. I will be doing a video within the next few months. But for now I'm going to enjoy my time with my family and friends PRIVATELY."
Andy waited for her to finish writing down what she had said. When she was done she looked up at Andy, "That enough to go on?"
Robin nodded, as Andy reached into her back pocket and took out her phone, "Put your number in." She gave her phone to her and waited until she was done.
"Text me at some point tonight and I'll send you the article before I run it." Robin said giving back Andy her phone. Once she took it she nodded and put in her back pocket.
"I don't believe you're here on assignment. Tell me the truth."
Robin sighed, "You're kind of trending on social media. People have been saying you're back home after being away for so long. There's pictures of you all over. Just people catching glimpses of you, or you pictures with people meeting you. Even though you seem to have gone off the grid these last few weeks. People are noticing you."
Andy rubbed her face in her hands and sighed. She knew this would happen, but she didn't know just how much of an impact she would have.
"You're inspiring people, you've become this beacon of hope for some people who don't have a voice. Even more so to those that felt like their dreams don't matter."
Andy nodded, "I have an idea, but I have to run it by a few people. I need to get going. If you don't hear from me tonight, DO NOT run the article." Andy shook her head and turned to leave. She didn't look back as Robin watched her walk away.
She hoped Andy would see her in a new light. She knew she made a mistake. She wanted to make it up to her. She wanted Andy to trust her and maybe one day she would.
*************************************************************************
Andy walked up to the receptionist slowly. When they got to the spa and checked in Wendy and Lisa literally pushed her towards another part of the spa building. She reached the desk and smiled at the young brunette. She waited a few moments and the young woman looked up and smiled. Then, her eyes went wide.
"Oh my God! You're Andrea Hill! I'm a huge fan!"
Andy smiled, "Hi, how are you?"
"I'm so sorry! Where is my professionalism?! What can I do for you?"
She chuckled, "It's okay. Um, my friends just kind of pushed me this way, and I'm not sure why. I've never been to a spa before and I'm hoping this isn't where you give those mud baths."
The young woman laughed and shook her head, "No, that's at the other end. Let me see here," she said and she gently started to type on her keyboard.
"Okay, so you're going to go down this hallway and go to the third door on the left. Strip down to your comfort level and we'll take it from there."
"Thank you so much. I have no idea what I'm doing here. Just hanging out with some friends and family I haven't seen in a while."
"If you don't mind could I possibly get a picture with you?"
Andy forced a smile and nodded, "Sure."
The young woman let out a small squeal and grabbed her cell phone. She got up from her desk and rushed around the desk and stood next to Andy. They both put an arm around each other and she took the picture. Andy smiled and gave her a hug. When they let go of each other she went back around the desk and sat down.
"My girlfriend is going to to be so jealous that I met you today. Could you possibly sign one of your photos for me too?"
"Sure, what's your name?"
"I'm Harley! Let me find it. You don't have an online store, otherwise I would have bought it. So I printed it out. It was just so beautiful. It was taken in Paris and I just fell absolutely in love with it."
Andy knew the picture she was talking about. She captured the moment right when the sun was hitting the Eiffel Tower just right when it was sunset. She smiled remembering that Paris was one of the stops when her and Lynn went on their six month honeymoon.
Harley found the picture and a marker and gave it over to Andy. She took them with a smile and signed the picture, "To Harley, keep you're head up, follow your dreams no matter how small. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do anything. Andrea."
She gave the picture and marker back to her, "Your song about being away from the person you love actually helped save my relationship."
"Which song?" Andy asked leaning against the desk.
"The one about how if they find themselves alone you're always be their side and that you're just a phone call from home."
"That's actually a cover song. I heard it a while back and I wanted to kind of reinvent it. I did it with a good friend of mine. If you don't mind me asking how did that song save your relationship?"
Harley waved her off, "It's a long story. I'm sure you don't want to hear it."
Andy shrugged, "I love hearing people's stories. We all have a story to tell and sometimes we just need someone to hear them."
"I love you even more now! Whoever you are with they are lucky to have you." Harley smiled and then cleared her throat, "Well her and I were having this huge fight about not being able to spend time together. We both work a lot because we're both trying to pay off a load of debt we each have. Well your song came on and all of a sudden we stopped fighting and we just listened. After the song ended and another song came on we apologized to each other.
Now we plan a date night every week. Once a month we take a week long vacation. We're actually planning a trip to Paris for our anniversary next month. It was your photo that made us want to go." She finished with a happy sigh.
"How long have you two been together?"
"It'll be four years next month."
"I hope you two have a safe and wonderful trip. Paris is amazing and I've been twice. It was nice to meet you Harley. Tell your girlfriend I said hello." Andy said with a smile.
"Thank you so much and I will. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day."
"You as well." Andy smiled and started to make her way down the hallway. She came up to the door she was supposed to go in and slowly opened the door. The room was dimly lit with incense burning and a few candles freshly lit. She saw a massaging table and lifted her eyebrow. She let out a long breath and fully went into the room. The scent hit her nostrils and she couldn't help but feel at ease.
She gently closed the door behind her and she looked around more. She saw a sign saying to stripe down to her comfort level and put her clothes on the table. She slowly started to take off her clothes until she was in her boxer briefs and sports bra. She laid her clothes neatly on the table and went over to the table. She slowly climbed onto it and laid down on her back. She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes.
It wasn't long until she heard the door slowly open. She kept her eyes closed and kept her breathing steady. She kept telling herself it was just like her meditations she would listen to while she slept.
"Hello, Miss Hill. I hope you weren't waiting long." The person said and Andy's eyes shot open. She sat up quickly and saw a woman around her age with short brown hair.
"Oh my God, no, no, no! You work here?!"
The woman gasped, "Andrea? Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. I thought it was another Andrea. I'm so sorry I'll see if the can get someone else."
"No, it's okay, I'll leave." Andy got out of the bed and stumbled towards her clothes and struggled to quickly get them on.
"Let me at least get some one else." She said
"No, Jesse, it's okay, I'll just go. I'll find my friends and we'll leave." Andy said trying to adjust her belt on her jeans.
"I promise I won't say anything to anyone if you don't want me to. I read about what those two did to you and I'm so sorry. The massage is already paid for. Just stay and I'll have some one else come and give you one."
Andy could hear the sincerity in her voice but she couldn't trust her, "Nothing against you, but I can't trust anyone I'm not really close to." She sat down and started to put on her socks and then her shoes. Once she was done she stood up. She put on her zip up hoodie and then pulled out her wallet taking out some cash.
"I don't know how this works but for your trouble. It was nice to see you again Jesse, but I'm sorry I can't do this." She said and put the cash on the table. She rushed out of the room and down the hallway. She tried to catch her breath and could feel her heart starting to race.
Her vision was getting blurry and she passed the desk not hearing Harley asking her if she was okay. She had to find Wendy. She had to get out of there. She started to use the wall to help guide her out. Also to help stay up. She could hear voices asking her if she was okay.
Everything was happening so fast she wasn't sure where she was. She couldn't breathe, her heart was pounding loud and fast. She could hear voices, but couldn't make out the words. She felt herself falling.
"Lynn," she whispered and she saw someone looking over her. She couldn't make out who it was. "Lynn," she whispered again. Voices were all around her and she tried to scream but she couldn't. Her chest was tight and she felt like she couldn't move but she also couldn't stop shaking.
"Get Wendy," she managed to get out before everything went black.
***********************************************************************************
Lynn rushed through the hospital doors looking around. She went up to the desk and asked the nurse what room Andy was in. The nurse asked if she was family and Lynn explained she was her wife. The nurse looked at her computer and after a few moments told her that Andy was on the third level and there was a waiting room she could go to.
The guys rushed in and she quickly told them they had to go to the third floor. Michael led the way towards the elevators and they piled in. Ethan put his arm around Lynn and told her that Andy would be okay. Lynn nodded, but she couldn't shake this bad feeling.
They heard the chime and the elevator doors opened. They looked around and Ethan went up to the desk. He was about to ask about Andy when he heard his name and saw Wendy coming up him. He immediately wrapped his arms around her. When they let go of each other he saw Kevin and Susan. They too hugged and everyone turned their attention to Lynn.
Hugs were exchanged again and Lynn was able to finally speak, "What happened?"
Wendy shook her head, "I'm not sure, but they time I got there I saw the paramedics putting her on a stretcher. I rode with her and they met me here. But Shey stayed back asking questions. According to them she was leaning against the wall trying to walk. They said it seemed that she was trying to catch her breath, she was sweating, seemed discombobulated. Apparently she said your name twice, and then she said, 'Get Wendy.' After that she just passed out."
"How long have you guys been here?" David asked.
"A couple of hours. We saw Dr. Samson rush in but she didn't stop to talk to us." Wendy said.
"It sounds like she had a panic attack or something." Brian chimed in and everyone nodded their heads.
"But what triggered it though? She hasn't had a panic attack in a few years. Last time it was because of Nicole." Ethan said.
Kevin suggested they all go into the waiting room and have a seat. Once everyone was together they all fell into a silence not knowing what to say. Lynn leaned against the wall and sighed. Alex came up to her and handed her a cup of coffee.
"Are you okay?" He asked as she took the cup from him.
"I don't know. I mean is this our future? In and out of hospitals? I love her and I know we've been through a lot, but I feel like this is what I'm going to have to do at least every few months."
Alex nodded, "I understand. She does come with a lot of health issues, but she's always pulled through. If you haven't noticed she doesn't let that stop her. She's a tough kid, and she's a fighter. For better or for worse, in sickness and in health. The vows you took. You both took those words and put them in your hearts. You both have that love that will conquer all no matter what."
Lynn smiled, "You're right. I don't know I guess I'm just freaking out. I picture my life and she's in it. She is. I see us together. I didn't have that with Alexa. I have this feeling that everything is just trying to keep us apart, but we keep finding our way back to each other."
Alex gave a small chuckle and nodded, "It's like you take ten steps forward but a hundred steps back."
"Exactly!"
"Remember when we were first starting out. Some of the small venues wouldn't even let us play because they didn't want another band like Paramore."
Lynn shook her head and scoffed, "Don't remind me."
"But you told us not to give up. You said that we were in this together. Not to give up." He looked at Lynn as she nodded.
"Look at us now, living out our dreams because of you. Even when Griff and Lee left you told us not to give up. That we would make it on our own. We've traveled the world and we've kept our bond tight. We were scared to let anyone else in because of Griff and Lee. Then, we found Justin. He clicked with us. Now we have this huge family because we've slowly started to open up to people and started to trust again.
So when you feel like your doubting your relationship with Andy. Think back to all the times you didn't give up. All the times you fought for us. All the times you told us to keep our heads up and to keep going."
"What would I do without you?" Lynn smiled wiping a tear from her cheek. Alex smiled and put his arm around her pulling her close to him. He kissed her forehead and put his against hers.
"Question is what would we do without you?" The two stood like that for a while and then Brian made is way over to them. He didn't have to say a word. He just put an arm around Lynn and she smiled at him. Justin saw and he too made his way over. The four stood there just taking in the moment. They were a family and they always had each other's backs.
Wendy smiled at them just as Ethan came up to her and he put his arm around her, "They're going to be okay. Andy's going to be okay."
Wendy nodded, "I know. I just wish I knew what caused this."
"I think we're about to find out." He said and she looked up seeing Dr. Samson coming into the waiting room. She was dressed in her blue scrubs and had a tired look on her face. She looked around the waiting room and looked around.
"Wow, I wasn't expecting this many people." She said with a soft smile.
"We're her family. Is she okay?" Susan asked.
Dr. Samson nodded, "For the most part. Something triggered this. But this was bad. Worse than it was before. With what's going on with her heart, another attack like this, I don't want to think about the repercussions."
"But is she going to be able to do everything she used to do?" Kevin asked.
Dr. Samson sighed, "I don't know. I'm going to run a few tests in a little while. I wanna do a stress test for sure. Her heart is extremely fragile. I know your family doesn't have a history of heart disease, but she's had this since she was a child. I know she's an active person. Did she take her medicine at all today?"
Wendy shook her head, "We've been really good at making sure she takes it. But I completely forgot about it today. But when she has a small attack a very small one, she takes it and it helps."
Dr. Samson nodded, "Okay, I'll keep it on the same dosage. I don't want to overload her with it. I can have her out in a couple of hours, but I just want her to do a stress test before she leaves."
"Can we see her?" Lynn asked. Dr. Samson looked around at all the people.
"I don't want to overload her, just family right now. Only family."
"Lynn's family she's her wife." Kevin said looking at Lynn with a small smile.
"Okay, follow me." Dr. Samson left the waiting room with Kevin and Susan close behind.
Wendy and Lynn turned to the others and Wendy spoke, "We'll let her you know you all are thinking about her."
They all nodded and watched as Wendy took Lynn's hand and they left the waiting room. They caught up with Dr. Samson and Wendy's parents. Once they joined them Dr. Samson spoke.
"You can have a few minutes with her. I'll be back in a little while to run the stress test." She gave me a comforting smile and then walked away.
"Lynn honey, let us go in first and then you. So you two can have some alone time." Susan said giving her arm a gentle squeeze. Lynn nodded and smiled. She watched as the three walked into the room. She looked through the window and saw Andy laying there on the hospital bed with wires on her chest hooked up to machines.
She quickly turned away and leaned against the wall. She covered her mouth with her hand and let out a small sob. She sank to the floor and just let the tears fall. Dr. Samson was rounding the corner looking at some papers when she saw Lynn. She slowly walked up to her and didn't say a word.
She sat down next to Lynn and put her clipboard down. She put an arm around Lynn and pulled her close. No words had to be said. She just knew that she needed someone to just be there. She held back some of her own tears, because Andy became some one she grew close to over the past thirteen years. She was going to do everything in her power to make sure Andy would live a long full filled life. Everything in her power.
