Dear Mommy

Epilogue
Cone and Paige sat on the old park bench. He had his arm around her shoulders as she laid her head on his chest. Skye was sitting next to them. Deryck was sitting on the picnic blanket next to the carrier that held his baby girl. Skye had given him a girl whom they named Elizabeth Skye Whibley. She was only a few months old. Raiden sat beside Deryck gazing at Elizabeth. He didn’t really know what to make of her. He was now five years old and had just finished his first year of school. He looked into the carrier and noticed that Elizabeth was awake.
“Unky Dewryck, can I hold her?” Raiden asked. Deryck looked over at Skye and she nodded. Deryck nodded towards Raiden and picked Elizabeth up in his arms.
“Now hold her head up and be careful with her.” Deryck stated helping Raiden hold his daughter. Paige smiled as her son held Elizabeth. She turned her attention to Cone who was also smiling.
“I think our son has his first infatuation don’t you?” She asked softly. Cone laughed and shook his head.
“Wouldn’t that be absolutely out of this world if our son got hooked up with Deryck’s daughter? Damn that’d be funny.” Skye turned at his words. She was laughing too.
“Shit then we’d really all be related. I don’t know if I like that idea.” She stated as Paige hit her lightly in the arm. Deryck had taken Elizabeth from Raiden once more and followed Raiden as he ran over to his mother.
“Mommy, Daddy! I got to hold Liz! Did you see?” He asked as he climbed onto the bench beside Paige. She smiled at him.
“Yes I sure did.” She replied causing Raiden’s smile to widen. Raiden watched as Deryck handed Elizabeth to Skye and watched as Deryck took a bottle from a bag and handed it to Skye who soon began to feed her daughter. He turned his attention back to his mother.
“Mommy, I want a Liz.” He stated causing everyone to burst out laughing. Cone smiled knowing that Raiden didn’t exactly know what he was asking for. Deryck couldn’t help but continue to laugh. It wasn’t as if kids were just given to parents but Raiden was still too young to know that.
“Paige, I want a Liz too.” Cone stated. Paige shook her head as Deryck butted into the conversation.
“I guess this means you want me and Skye to take Raiden for the night, eh?” He asked knowing that’s what Cone had up his sleeve. They all began laughing once more.
“We’ve got our hands full with one. I’m not so sue a little girl is going to help our situation any, Jay.” Paige stated trying to hold back her laughter. Things had all worked out and they had their whole lives ahead of them. Whether or not they had another child was entirely up to them. That’s one of the best things about life, choice. Every person has the right to choose to live life his or her own way. Whether that brings children into the world or not, or many bring more crime hate and prejudice is all up to the people who live on earth. The McCaslin family had chosen to live their lives by the beat of their music. They were going to live them to the fullest and enjoy every moment they had with one another. Nothing was ever going to change that. Nothing could split the McCaslin family apart and that had truly been proven through Clarissa’s many attempts of chosen crimes. Still they had survived. Only time would tell if they could get through whatever else lied ahead, but whatever it was they were ready to face it together. Together as a family.
