Part IX
Nick and Skye walked out of the movie theater hand in hand laughing and joking about the film they had just seen. It had been some low budget alien movie, but had given them a good chance to goof off with one another. The two walked over to the limo that had been parked outside and hopped in. Skye planted a soft kiss on Nick’s cheek before brushing the hair out of his face. A smile crossed his face as he wrapped his arm loosely around her shoulders. She looked into his eyes once more and smiled.
“Thank you for this, Nick.” She whispered. Nick pulled her closer and sighed.
“It was nothing. I just wanted to be with you.” He replied as Skye laid her head in his lap. Nick began to run his fingers through her hair. “I love you, you know that?” He asked. Skye sat again and pulled him into a passionate kiss. When she pulled back she laid her head back in his lap and could feel his manhood come to life.
“Apparently you’re not the only one.” She joked as Nick’s cheeks turned slightly pink. She loved the way he still got embarrassed at certain things. She thought for a moment about what was to happen when their time in New York was over. She didn’t want to loose him. She loved him and knew he loved her. “Nick?” She asked gently trying to rid herself of the thoughts that were at that moment racing through her mind.
“Yeah babe?” He asked dreamily gazing into her eyes.
“What are we gonna do after New York? I mean cuz I don’t want to go back to live with my parents and,” she was stopped by Nick placing his fingers gently on her lips. He sighed and began to speak.
“We’re not gonna go back to Stillwater anytime soon so there’s no point in thinking about any of it. I’m working on getting an apartment here just until things with your parents die down. I’ll have enough money once the album starts selling. I can take care of you.” Skye’s eyes began to tear up from his statement. He wanted to be with her, to care for her. He simply smiled.
“Nick, I don’t know what to say.” She replied sitting.
“Don’t say anything, just stay here with me.” She pulled him into another kiss as the car came to a stop. He could tell from the look in her eyes that her answer was yes. Soon they both exited the limo and headed into the hotel. Upon entering Skye noticed her brother, Jason, sitting there waiting for her. He immediately walked to his sister.
“Skye, we gotta get you out of here and fast.” That was all he said as he began to lead Skye out of the hotel. Nick followed close behind.
Tyson and Paige sat in the taxi as Tyson jingled the hotel key in his pocket, his palms sweaty from the nervous feeling in the pit of his stomach. He had a dazed look upon his face as he stared out of the window. Paige looked over at him as she took his hand in hers causing him to turn his head to meet her gaze. She smiled at him wanting to know what he was so nervous about.
“Ty, are you alright? You seem a little nervous or something.” She asked softly. Tyson wasn’t like this very often and when he was it meant he had something up his sleeve or something was seriously bugging him. He sighed before he answered and began gently caressing her hand.
“I’m fine, really.” He replied as the taxi pulled up to the front of the hotel. Tyson stepped out, opened the door, and helped Paige step out. His hands were still sweaty as he shut the door. He and Paige headed into the hotel and when they reached the door Tyson slowly took the key from his pocket. He opened the door and motioned for her to step inside. She smiled and walked into the room, her feet soon walking over the rose petals upon the floor. They were left in a trail leading to the bed where two-dozen roses were placed on either side. She looked back at Tyson with a huge smile plastered on her face. She had never had anyone do something this romantic for her. She was literally stunned. He closed the door and was soon pushed against it. She crushed her lips to his as his hands found there way to the hem of her shirt. He was glad he had made all these arrangements for he knew for a fact he was getting some tonight. He led her to the bed and pulled back from her for a moment. He reached for a small box that was lying ever so gently on a tiny pillow on the bed. He was still on top of Paige as he opened the box revealing a promise ring cushioned inside. He took out the ring and slipped it on Paige’s finger.
“Ty, what…” He had struck her speechless which was rather hard to do once she had opened up to him.
“It’s a promise ring. It’s the next step.” He stated smiling, still a little nervous about whether or not she was cool with this. She pulled him back into another kiss. He was now perfectly calm taking that kiss as his relieve. Paige wanted this as much as he did.
Nick, Jason, and Skye now sat in another hotel room on the outskirts of New York. Jason still hadn’t explained what was going on, and he seemed more nervous by the second. Skye’s anger was beginning to take over as she pulled Jason away from the window. He sat on the edge of the bed and sighed.
“Jason, what the fuck is going on?” She asked the anger evident in her rising voice. Nick took her hand knowing she was about to get out of control.
“Mom and Dad found out you were here.” He replied softly. Skye turned to Nick, fear now taking the place of the anger that had been in her eyes only moments before. “Yeah my reaction exactly. Seems mom and dad talked to Paige’s parents and then Nick’s mom then Ty’s parents and found you were here. I moved out shortly after I helped you leave and have been staying in Oklahoma City. I’ve got an apartment there and I gotta get you there before mom and dad find either of us. I would have come sooner but I didn’t find out they were here until a few days ago. Thank God I found you first.” He stated spilling out the whole story to Skye and Nick in almost one single breathe.
“But how the hell are they gonna find us in New York City? Plus I can take care of Skye.” Nick said standing. He wasn’t going to let anyone take Skye from him. Not now not ever.
“Nick, man, you don’t get it. My parents are on the fucking warpath not to mention they wanna send Skye away to like boot camp or some shit. They’ve told the cops she’s a fucked up delinquent who needs guidance. Basically they have the law on their side. Since none of us want that to happen I gotta get her to my apartment. We’ll have to lay low for a few months, but Nick, you’ll be out on tour anyway.” He stopped turning towards Skye. “Skye, you gotta trust me. I know this all sounds fucked up, but it’s the truth. Six months max. I’ll try and get you to visit him once a month, but I gotta get you away from mom and dad.” Skye didn’t know what to think or what to do. She was more confused then she’d ever been. She wanted to be with Nick more then anything else in the world. She wanted to stay with him and go on tour with him and share the world with him. Thoughts were racing through her mind a mile a minute and she couldn’t take it. She ran out of the hotel and out into the now raining street.
The room was rather quiet now as Paige and Tyson listened to the pounding rain outside. She had her head lying on his bare chest and could feel him steadily breathing. She cuddled closer to him feeling rather cold and smiled to herself as she looked once again at the promise ring on her finger. He gently began to run his fingers up and down her back causing a slight giggle to escape her.
“Ty, that tickles.” She whispered breaking the serene silence. He continued to do it knowing that soon she’d have to retaliate. “Ty, come on stop.” She begged squirming next to him. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Paige looked up to meet Tyson’s baby blues. “Did you order room service too?” She asked in a semi sarcastic tone. Tyson now wore a rather confused expression. “Ty, what’s up?” She asked her heart beginning to beat faster.
“I didn’t order anything and I know Nick wouldn’t knock and he’d keep Skye away. They both knew about all this. Maybe we should get it.” He replied. Paige simply pulled herself up his side so her lips met his.
“You’re not going anywhere.” She replied as they both smiled. Paige almost jumped out from under the covers as the door came flying open. She grabbed the sheets attempting to cover her entire body as Tyson took her in his arms.
“What the fuck!” He screamed noticing the people in the doorway. He could feel Paige’s heart beating a mile a minute as she buried her face in his chest. “Dude, for serious, do you mind?” He screamed annoyed.
“Where is our son, Tyson?” He knew that voice as did Paige and it scared the hell out of him.
“Mr. Davidson?” He asked. “Ah shit.” He mumbled reaching for his boxers. He slipped them on and whispered to Paige. “Stay here. I’ll handle this.” He kissed her on the forehead and walked over to Mr. and Mrs. Davidson.
“Where’s our daughter?” Mr. Davidson asked once again. Tyson looked down at the ground.
“She’s out with Nick and that’s all I know so now I’m asking you to leave. This is a private hotel room and you’re not invited.” He replied practically pushing them out of the room.
“You just enjoy your time with your little girlfriend there. I’m sure both your parents are going to love the fact that you’re intimate.” With that statement Tyson slammed the door and turned his gaze back to a now crying Paige. He felt as if he had betrayed Nick and Skye.
Skye ran down the street. She needed to think. Nick and Jason were trying to catch up with her. Unfortunately she ran twice as fast as they did; her soccer skills had paid off. Nick was beginning to get worried.
“Skye! Skye! Come on stop running! Let’s talk about all this!” He screamed. She stopped collapsing to the ground as the sob racked through her body. Nick ran to her aide. “Skye, we need to get you out of here.” He whispered to her as he took her into his arms. He helped her stand still holding her to him. That’s when he noticed the taxi stop at the end of the road. Two people stepped out and grabbed Skye from behind. Jason was running towards them. “Let her go!” Nick screamed. Nick tried to get her away from them. Jason slipped on the sleek concrete and fell hitting his head on the pavement. Somehow Skye’s parents managed to get her into the car. They drove off with Nick chasing them until his legs gave out. He collapsed to the ground. She was gone. The girl he loved more then anything else in the world was gone. She was gone and nothing was going to bring her back ever again.
