A/N: Hey I know I have not been updating like I should, and I am sorry, some of the stories are hard to write, for personal reasons. But I appreciate the support and love reading what you have to say about the story, this story took a couple of different turns as I was writing it, changing the very direction many times, I think this story is coming to an end in maybe two chapters or three. Ok on to the story!!

Demolition Lovers 011
Gerard stared at his brother, why would telling him that he was gay be so hard, surely Mikey would not be scared of telling his own gay brother that?
“Mikey, is that it, I mean don’t get me wrong that’s a big deal, well not a big deal, but..” Gerard stopped talking starring at Mikey trying to figure out what it was that he was hiding, he was surely hiding something he had to be hiding something. Deciding that he could not force Mikey to tell him what was wrong Gerard instead decided to support his brother and to let him know he loved him regardless.
“Mikey, I love you, I don’t care that your gay, I’m so proud of you, for telling me, that must of been awfully scary for you.” Gerard leaned over wrapping his arms tightly around Mikey giving him the best reassuring hug he knew how to give, waiting for Mikey to return the hug. When he didn’t Gerard pulled back, Mikey was just staring down at the dirty motel carpet, small tears in his eyes.
“Hey, hey, there what’s wrong, Mikers? What is it, is there something else?” Gerard could not understand what was going on with his little brother, he was never like this, but then again he really didn’t know how his brother was for the longest time, he had been so involved with himself that he didn’t bother to see if his brother was ok, and it was quite obvious that his brother was not ok.
“I, I just don’t know how to tell, you, I don’t think I can, not yet anyway, I don’t wanna talk about it, not now, I’ll let you know, when.” Mikey stood up and walked over to the bathroom, leaving his older brother with furrowed eyebrows, wondering what this ‘thing’ was that Mikey was not ready to tell him. What could be so scary so horrible that he did not want to talk to him about it.
“He said he’d tell you when he was ready, give him time, give him room” Gerard kept chanting to himself, telling himself that he could not forget that his brother was going threw something that he needed to know about.
Mikey was leaning against the motel bathroom door, his eyes were closed and he was fighting the urge to scream at the top of his lungs. He could hear Frank in his head, whispering the ‘sweet nothings’ he would whisper to him as he would rape him. Telling him how he wanted it how he craved it or he would have told someone a long time ago. Mikey was constantly wondering if Frank was right, if the reason he had not told anyone was because he enjoyed being with Frank.
Holding himself tightly Mikey began to shake from the tears that no longer threatened to fall down his face, but where freely falling and staining his shirt. Gerard could hear Mikey’s sobs threw the door and wanted nothing more than to barge in and tell him to tell him what was wrong, and to tell him it was all going to be ok, that he would never let whatever it was that was hurting Mikey hurt him again.
Mikey’s sobs were slowly dyeing down, he started to feel himself returning to normal after his panic attack. He stayed where he was on the bathroom floor, wanting to let his face calm down before he faced Gerard, he didn’t want Gerard to ask why his face was red as if he was crying, he didn’t want anymore questions, not at the moment, just to be with his brother and away from Frank and away from his hell a.k.a. school.
Gerard was just about to break down the door to check on Mikey, it had been five minutes since he had stopped crying and he hadn’t heard anything since, his mind was playing tricks with him, that Mikey was in there with a blade to his wrist, ready to end it all, just waiting for the courage to do it.
“No, no Mikey wouldn’t do that, calm down, he’s going to the bathroom give him some privacy, well its still privacy if I just check on him, call his name. He’ll respond and my stupid self can shut up.” Gerard stood up and made his way over to the bathroom door, just as his hand was about to land on the door to knock, the door swung open revealing a blood free Mikey.
“Sorry for taking so long, What ever I ate at lunch wasn’t agreeing with me. Did you need to go, I could have gotten out for a bit, I’m sorry.” Mikey had quickly jumped out of the bathroom leaving the pathway clear for his brother.
“No, I didn’t need to use the bathroom, I was just worried about you.” Gerard went back to the bed and laid down, he was still coming off of some of the drugs that he had taken when his dad had thrown him out, and the after affects where hell.
“It’s ok if I stay here right, I don’t want to, I don’t think I can go home, at least not right now...” His voice trailed off as he watched his brother’s rising and falling chest, it amazed him how something so simple can be so calming.
“Sure you can stay, you’ll need to leave early though to get to school, the bus doesn’t stop any where near here.” Deciding that he wasn’t going to be able to sleep Gerard sat up on the bed, grabbing the remote control from the night stand and flipping threw the channels.
“I, I can’t go to school, I mean I won’t, not anymore, I’m threw with school” Mikey prayed that his brother would not question him any further as to why he did not want to go to school any more. No such luck.
“Mikey you need to go to school, you can’t be skipping and expect to graduate.” Gerard had muted the TV to stare directly at his brother, telling him that the conversation was threw and that he was going to school.
Silently nodding Mikey sat down on the bed his mind reeling with what to do, he couldn’t go, where was he going to go during the seven hours that he was supposed to be at school? Somewhere safe, somewhere...
“Yeah your right Gee, I need to go to school if I want to graduate and get anywhere.” Mikey stood up and opened his bag, grabbing out a little snack and offering some to Gerard, hopping that the matter would be dropped and that Gerard would not insist on walking him to school for company, or offering to bring him lunch.
They both sat there in silence, except for the blare of the noise coming from the tv, nothing was really on except for the evening news and it was the same old, murder, and mafia stories, the ones you’ve heard a million times.
When the clock said 10 o’clock Gerard flicked off the tv, climbing under the covers, he held down the opposite side, patting the sheets telling Mikey he could climb in. Mikey did not need to be told twice, he took of his shirt and pants, climbing in only in his boxers, he laid with his face to Gerard and smiled as they both fell asleep. Mikey wanting nothing more than to stay with his brother the next day and to not be wondering the streets of Jersey by himself, and Gerard wanting nothing more than for his brother to tell him what was going on, what had him so frightened and upset. The boys fell asleep with each other only an arms reach away. With there own troubling thoughts plaguing there other wise peaceful dreams.
The next morning came way to soon and Mikey dreaded the day that was going to be spent by himself; Gerard dreaded the day for he was going to be going to a work source building, it would be filled with out of work people all of which who were looking for jobs fast, and soon. Now that he was on his own, he had to get a permanent job. Both boys crawled out of bed quickly getting a shower and dressed to begin there long day. Walking out of the room together they went to the front desk, there was a man there and he was reading a guns and ammo magazine.
“Yes sir, how can I help you? Checking out?” The man placed down the magazine and looked up at the two boys.
“No, we uh, we need another key, for my brother.” Gerard pointed to his brother who was standing next to him, looking threw all the brochures on what to do while you where in town. Everything was for New York, funny, no one wants you sticking your nose around in Jersey.
“Certainly, and what is your name?”
“Gerard, Way, thats my brother Michael Way” Gerard stood nervously on his feet, switching his weight from one to the other. This man was giving him the creeps.
The man disappeared to a back room, and a few minutes later appeared with a second key in an envelope, the envelope had the room number conveniently written on the front.
“Thank you, uh I was also wondering, do you have any long term stay prices, like for a month? I am kinda looking for a place to live.” Gerard was hopping that this question would not take to long, they both had to get on their way.
“Yes we do, two hundred and fifty a month, with a minimum down of half.” The man sat back down and picked up his magazine, propping his feet up on the table when he saw Gerard leaving.
“Ok Mikers, I would walk you to school but my first interview is in like twenty minutes and I barely have enough time to make it now. Are you gonna be able to make it ok?”
“Yes, ma, I can make it to school ok.” Mikey was quite annoyed with the way that Gerard was treating him, he wasn’t a little kid anymore, not by a long shot.
“Ok, well are you gonna be here tonight, or are you heading home?”
“I’m gonna come here tonight, if thats ok?”
“Sure it is Mikey, I just don’t want mom and dad getting any more pissed at me than they already are.” Gerard grabbed Mikey into a hug, before they parted ways, Gerard off to catch the bus, and Mikey off to the direction of school.
As soon as Mikey was sure that he was out of sight of his brother, he took of to the only place he could think of, the park. Yeah it was dangerous to go to the park by yourself, but at least it was morning, any of the things that go bump in the night would be tucked away for the day. Sitting down on the swings Mikey remembered how he and his brother would try and see who could get going the highest and then jump the furthest, their mother would always complain that one of them was going to get really hurt one day and that they would be sorry. But they were boys, they loved the feeling of flying in the air to land on the soft yet scratchy sand. Mikey remembered the day that they were both seeing if they could jump out of the sand box and to land on the grass. This resulted in Mikey with a twisted ankle and broken glasses, and Gerard getting yelled at for not have knowing better. Mikey couldn’t help but laugh at it now, wondering if he could still get as far or farther now that he was older.
The day slowly passed by, Mikey watched some little kids arrive with there parents the moms sitting by the benches all talking about local gossip while there children played mindlessly. He received several questioning glares, and heard shouts from the parents to their kids as they tried to go over to the swings. Mikey spent the day thinking about his life, thinking about Frank and thinking about everything that Frank had done to him, and everything that he would do, if he never spoke up. He just had to tell Gerard about what was going on, to at least tell him who it was, if he could not tell what it was that Frank was doing to him. Mikey had no idea how the whole day had passed, how he spent seven hours just sitting there and thinking, but he did, and soon enough he saw the yellow school busses coming into the neighbor hood signaling that he better get heading back to the motel.
Mikey arrived at the motel not ten minutes after he started leaving from the park. He saw his brother just entering the hotel room and was glad he would not be waiting for him. If he had to wait he was sure that he would back out of telling Gerard what was going on.
Mikey entered the hotel room to see Gerard looking over a small stack of papers. Mikey guessed that he had recieved a couple of job aplications and was reading over which ones he would apply to. Upon seeing Mikey enter, Gerard jumped to give him a hug. Asking him how his day was and telling him that he hopped it was good. Mikey felt bad about lieing telling him it was fine. They both sat down at the small table Gerard exitedly telling Mikey about all the jobs that he was going to apply to, Mikey telling Gerard about the fake fights and drama of his supposed school day.
“Ha I seem to have forgotten how crazy school was even if I’ve only been gone a couple days.” Gerard began carfully filling out the aplications in his best handwritting.
“Gerard are you going to finish High school, you really need to, if I get a job and you have one, I could, I’ll give you the money I make, together it should be enough for us to live off of... I mean if its ok that I stay with you, together we could make it, don’t you think...” Mikey was looking at the different job applications Gerard had, wondering if it was ok for him to apply for a few, to help his brother out.
“You know Mikey I have been thinking about that, I want to finish High school, I only have a year left and it would be a shame not to finish, I don’t know though, mom and dad arn’t gonna let you live with me, not after what happened...” Gerard’s voice trailed of as he recalled the events that got him kicked out of his home and thrown into the harsh world on his own.
“They will if I tell them I’m gay... I mean they kicked you out without even knowing if you where, and you where just trying to calm me down, they shouldn’t have kicked you out.” Mikey stood up and made his way over to his back pack, ready to call home and telling them that he was gay, telling them that he was going to live with Gerard and that they were going to make it on their own, even if they were “fags” as their father would say.
“Mikey, stop, don’t call them now, not over the phone at least.” Gerard took the cellphone out of Mikey’s hands and put it back into his bag, taking him back to the little desk, “come on fill out an application for now..”
“I can’t stay at home Gerard, not if your not their, mom and dad are never home, and they won’t care, I need someone there I need someone with me, I... I can’t, I just just can’t, I need to talk to you, I just don’t...”
“Mikey, something’s wrong I know that, I know your having trouble telling me, and I want you to tell me when your ready...”
“Can we go some where, like to talk, get out of here, maybe go for pancakes?” Mikey knew the tiny old diner was near by. It was cheap and had the best burgurs, but Mikey loved to eat breakfast at odd hours. (a/n: who dosen’t!! I go get pancakes at 2 in the morning!!)
“Sure of course, same little diner we always go to?” Gerard grabbed his wallet out of the back pocket of the clothes he wore for his day at the work source building and his jacket as they headed out of the door, and into the direction of the diner.
The sun was slowly setting around him, the with the suns last dying rays shining threw the leaves of the trees casting an almost heavenly appearence to the world around him. Everything seemed calm and everything seemed right with the world at the moment. Mikey knew to not buy into it, this had to be the calm before the storm, there was always a storm on the horizon, yet their was always a rainbow beyond that.
