so, woohoo to new reviewer, welcome. and yea, her stories are always a little different about when exactly she wrote the song, but kelly wrote 'addicted' sometime between the ages of 17 and 19. she said she had had this major crush on a somebody, and her friends asked her why she couldn't seem to get over it, and "addicted" was her response. lol, it's a little dark and twisted, especially seeing as the situation it was written for and how young she was (comparing to such things as taylor swift's "Teardrops on my guitar" which, she was about the same age, same situation, totally different songs), but it's probably my favorite song off her second album. so anyways...update time.

Carrie waited, leaning against her car door in front of Kelly's apartment the next afternoon after school, her hands fidgeting nervously. She watched as the Texan hurried down the stairs, checking her watch for the time.
"What the hell?" Kelly frowned as she spotted Carrie.
"Need a ride to work?" Carrie asked with a nervous smile.
"I can take the bus."
"Kelly, please, let me make this up to you," Carrie said, hurrying down the sidewalk to catch up with her. It had been another day of the shorter girl avoiding her, and Carrie felt even more terrible with each second that passed. She had sat with Kelly and her friends during lunch, but Kelly didn't even look at her once.
"Haven't you done enough?" Kelly asked sharply.
"You wrote that song, didn't you?"
"Oh my God," Kelly groaned. "Drop it! Ok? Just drop it!" her voice softened as she stopped to turn to the blonde, "Why can't you just drop it?"
"I seem to remember having this argument already with you, except I was the one asking that," Carrie replied, slipping her hands into her jean pockets.
Kelly sighed, wrapping her arms tightly around herself, "Is there a point to this? Because I can't afford to be late."
"I'm sorry," Carrie shrugged. "Apparently that's not enough, but that's all I have."
Kelly looked at her curiously, "Why? Why are you sorry? You haven't even known me for a week. We aren't friends, you made sure to establish that. So why don't you stop?"
"Because I was wrong," she admitted. "All of it. I was wrong. You were my friend. Or at least, you were the closest thing I had to that over here. You went out of your way to help me when you didn't have to. And I am so sorry that I screwed that up...that I screwed up what little trust we had. Can we just...can we start over?"
Kelly looked into her eyes, the sincerity in there was undeniable. And if she was being completely honest with herself, then she'd have to admit that for some reason she had missed the girl standing before her over the past few days, despite only having just met her. She closed her eyes, praying that she wouldn't regret this. "Alright," she nodded, despite all of her instincts screaming at her not to.
Carrie couldn't help but grin, "So, you want a ride?"
"Sorry, I don't ride with strangers," she replied.
"Kelly," Carrie frowned.
Kelly offered her a small smile, "Just not yet, ok? Next time?"
"Next time," Carrie nodded, watching her walk off.

Carrie pulled her car along side of the small red one that Ashley was standing beside in the movie theater parking lot that was completely empty except for one other car.
"What the heck is this?" Carrie asked, getting out of the car, suddenly finding herself fearful.
"Girl's night," Ashley shrugged.
"At twelve thirty in the morning outside of a closed movie theater?"
"Closed only to those who don't know people with a key," Ashley smiled as she started to walk to the large building. "Hurry up, it's cold."
"Why are you even helping me?" Carrie asked as they reached the front doors which were indeed locked.
Ashley pulled out her phone, dialing quickly, "Hey, I'm here, come let me in."
She hung up her phone, turning to the blonde, "Because I'm tired of seeing my best friend walk around like somebody ran over her puppy, alright?"
"We made up," Carrie replied.
"No," she shook her head. "If y'all had actually made up, she would've invited you again to come with us tonight, huh?"
Carrie frowned, "She said not yet."
"So, y'all haven't made up. But I suggest that you had better fix it, and fast because if you don't do it soon then I'm not gonna let you fix it because I hate seeing her like this, and being you're the one that made her like this, the best thing to do would be for you to stay the hell away from her, right?"
Carrie looked at her helplessly.
"And obviously you don't want that, and neither does she so fix it," Ashley said firmly as Kelly came up to unlock the door. She opened it, pausing as Ashley walked in, causing her to be left standing face to face with Carrie.
"What are you doing here?" Kelly asked.
Carrie looked passed her to Ashley.
"Fixing it," Carrie replied.
Ashley nodded, walking away.
Kelly closed the door behind the taller blonde, locking it once more.
"There's nothing to fix," Kelly said. "We're fine, remember?"
"Then why doesn't it feel like we are?" Carrie asked.
"Carrie, I just..." Kelly sighed, looking up into the hazel eyes staring back at her nervously. Kelly reached out, wrapping her arms around the girl and pulled her into a hug.
Carrie was frozen at first, completely caught off guard, but soon realized that she wasn't returning the gesture, and wrapped her arms around the smaller girl's waist, hugging her tightly. The Texan really knew how to hug somebody.
"I'm sorry," Kelly whispered in her ear.
"Me too," Carrie replied as they pulled apart.
"Carrie, I really do hope we become good friends," Kelly admitted. "Because I like you a lot, I do. You just have something about you that's so just...I don't know, and I love that. I just, I want to get to know you. Does that make sense?"
Carrie looked at her confusedly.
"No, I guess not," Kelly laughed softly. "Ok, um, I want to get to know you as a person. Things started off kinda weird for both of us, and we kinda skipped that part which is not usually how I work. We just kinda went straight from strangers to strangely close for the short time we knew each other which I think is what went wrong. I think we both just need to relax about all of this. Does that make better sense?"
"Yea," Carrie nodded.
"Good," Kelly smiled.
"So, I guess I should go," Carrie said, motioning to the door.
"Go?" Kelly asked. "I didn't say that we couldn't hang out. Carrie, that's the last thing I want. I guess, that didn't make sense after all. Ok, let's try this one more time. I just...trust is important to me, you know? When I'm friends with someone, that relationship means a lot to me. I'd do anything for my friends, and when I met you, I really thought I could be that way with you too, and honestly I'm really hoping we still can, so I just want to us to be able to be honest and open with each other which is going take a while, especially after this past week, but in no way do I not want to hang out with you."
"Good," Carrie smiled in understanding, looking around the empty movie theater. "So exactly how illegal is this?"
Kelly grinned, "How illegal are you willing to get?"
