"I got a funny feeling
The moment that your lips touched mine;
Something shot right through me,
My heart skipped a beat in time."

Kelly slowed down before turning back around to where Carrie had stopped jogging, "Why you stopped?"
"I'm done," Carrie waved her off.
"Done?" Kelly laughed softly. "We haven't even gone a mile."
"I'm out of shape."
Kelly eyed her pointedly, "Out of shape? Your so little the wind could blow you away."
"There's a difference between being small and being in shape," Carrie frowned.
Kelly stepped forward, noting her pale cheeks, "You ok?"
"Yea," she nodded as Kelly put her hands under her elbows to steady her. "Just haven't run in a while."
"You should've told me."
"You just seemed so excited this morning."
"Yea, cause I wanted to show you the park. We didn't have to run in order to do that."
Carrie nodded, taking a deep shaky breath.
"Maybe you should sit."
"I'm fine. Just need my heart to realize I've stopped running."
Kelly laughed softly, pulling her closer.
Carrie smiled, reaching up and pulling the hood of the light jacket the Texan was wearing over her head playfully, "I like France."
"Yea?"
"Nobody knows me in France. That's nice," she explained, her hands sliding inside Kelly's hood, cradling her face gently. "I can look at you however I want. I can touch you however I want."
Kelly smiled.
"Aw, heck, now my heart's never gonna slow down," Carrie fussed teasingly. "And don't think just because you're wearing sun glasses that I can't tell you're rolling your eyes."
"It is nice," Kelly agreed. "I'm not that well known here like other places, so the small amount of people that would actually be able to recognize me in other countries is lessened till like zero. I love it."
"So..." Carrie smiled, stepping closer, her thumbs stroking the shorter girl's cheeks. "Hood covering your face...sunglasses...nobody can really recognize you anyway...nobody even around..."
"You're gonna kiss me?" Kelly asked softly.
"Is that ok? We've never really kissed in public."
"It's not really public. We've only come across one other couple in here."
"So does that mean I have your permission?"
Kelly nodded, tilting her head to the side as Carrie leaned forward, pressing their lips together. Her arms wrapped around the country singer, holding her to her.
Carrie pulled back slowly, brushing their noses together before placing a kiss on the tip of Kelly's, making her giggle. "I can't wait for the day that I'll be able to show you off to the entire world."
"I'm totally your trophy wife."
"Totally," Carrie agreed. "Guess that goes against what you've been singing about the past couple years."
"I'm ok with that."
Carrie laughed softly, leaning forward again and kissing the corner of her mouth.
Kelly shivered.
"Cold?" she teased.
"Suddenly very warm, actually."
"Maybe you should take off a layer," Carrie replied, slowly unzipping the thin jacket she was wearing.
Kelly's eyes followed her hand as she bit down on her bottom lip.
"Besides, you feel better with less clothing," Carrie smiled, holding her closer.
"Care..."
"Hmm?"
Kelly looked her in the eyes, "I think we should go back to the hotel now."

Carrie giggled as Kelly collapsed on top of her. She bushed her now damp bangs off her forehead before kissing her there, "Yea, totally better with less clothing."
"Damn..." Kelly breathed.
"I know. I totally rocked your socks."
Kelly laughed, reaching up to place a kiss on her lips before laying down and snuggling into her neck.
Carrie smiled, rubbing her back, "This is so perfect."
"Yea," Kelly nodded. "Can I ask you something?"
"Duh."
"In the park, you made a comment about showing me off..."
"Kell, in no way do I think of you as some trophy. I was just joking."
"No, I know, it's not that. It's just...it may be a while before we can be out in public like that. I wanted to make sure you knew that."
"Sweetie, I know," Carrie assured her.
"And that's ok, right?"
"That's perfectly fine. So what if it takes a while? I plan on being with you for way longer than a while. I was in no way trying to push you or anything because I'm not ready for that; I just wanted to let you know how proud I am to call you my girlfriend, even if it's only to you and a couple of our friends."
Kelly pushed herself up, looking around the room.
"What's wrong?"
"Speaking of friends...where's Kate?"
Carrie cocked her head slightly, "Has the shower been running since we got here?"
Kelly blushed, "Yea...I just didn't register."
Carrie laughed, "Girl definitely got an ear full."
"Come on," Kelly shook her head, laughing as well. "We need to get dressed. We totally have to apologize when she gets out."
"Apologize? Who's to say she didn't enjoy it? I mean, I would totally enjoy listening to us."
"Care..."
"Ok, ok, I'm getting dressed."

"I don't know why they left;
I won't ever understand
Foolish hearts and careless hands;
I'm not like the rest of them;
I'll be here forever,
Till my last breath."

"Kate," Kelly sat beside her on the bed. "We are so, so sorry. We totally forgot that you were in here. I swear we would never do that intentionally."
"It's ok. I get it. I know what it's like to love someone," Kate patted her knee.
Kelly furrowed her eyebrows.
"Seriously, don't worry about it. I'm just thankful that y'all were able to make it through last night without going at it with me in the same bed."
She laughed softly, "We're not completely void of all self-control."
Kate raised an eyebrow, "Who knocked all the stuff off the night stand?"
Carrie blushed, "Ok, so at least we're not void of all self-control beforehand."
"Guys, seriously, no worries. Just...double check that you're alone next time?"
They both nodded.
"Good," she smiled. "Now, I've got to see how bad Jill and Ashley's hangovers are. What time are we leaving for the wine thing?"
"Noon," Kelly replied.
"Ok, see y'all later."
Kelly watched as she walked to the door. She turned to Carrie who was standing in front of her with a smile. She reached out, pulling her down to where she was straddling her lap.
"You guys..." Kate fussed. "At least wait till I'm out the room."
Kelly blushed, "I thought you were."
"I forgot my key," she laughed, shaking her head as she grabbed her room key off the dresser. "I swear..."
"So..." Carrie smiled at the sound of the door closing. "What's with the thinking face?"
"Something she said."
"About?"
"Us being in love."
"Kell, we just started dating," Carrie brushed a curl behind her ear. "Don't worry about that."
"So, it's ok if it takes a while?"
"Of course it's ok. Baby, I want it to take a while. Everything has just happened so naturally with us...I love that. I don't want either of us rushing anything."
"What if it doesn't happen?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I've never been in love before. What if I just can't fall in love with someone?"
"Of course you can fall in love with someone."
"I've tried."
"Really? Because something tells me that you haven't."
"Well, shouldn't it be something you shouldn't have to try at?"
Carrie thought for a moment, "Yes, it should, but at the same time, it can't happen if you're dead set against it."
"I wasn't dead set against it," Kelly frowned.
"You didn't love David, and nobody can blame you for that. He was an asshole. You didn't love Graham, why?"
"He's an asshole."
"Not when you first started dating, though, right? He wasn't really an asshole until the end. Yet, you didn't love him. You weren't even close, right?"
"Right," she admitted softly.
"Why do you think that is?"
Kelly shrugged.
"Kell..." she urged.
"Because I didn't want to get hurt again. What happened with David sucked, and I didn't even love him. The thought of that happening with someone I actually loved...it scared the crap out of me," Kelly sniffed. "And rightfully so, look how he turned out."
Carrie reached up, brushing a tear away for her, "Scared?"
"Scares," Kelly corrected.
"Kell..." Carrie cradled her face.
"I know," her eyes fell.
"No, look at me."
She looked back up.
"I will never do that to you," Carrie said firmly. "I will never hurt you."
"Promise?" Kelly could feel herself tearing up again.
"I promise," she nodded, pulling her into a hug.
