"And did I mention that
I’m in lack of a loving hand;
And the nights go long,
And I can’t seem to start again."

Kelly looked up, wide eyed at the sound of someone knocking on her hotel room door.
"Baby..." Carrie purred in her ear over the phone.
"Shit," Kelly cursed, sitting up. "Shh, Care..."
She climbed off the bed as they continued to knock. She looked in the mirror, quickly retying the strings on her pajama pants. The sound of Carrie breathing heavy in her ear sending a shiver down her spine, "Care, shh, someone's here."
"Kell..."
Kelly opened the door, accidently hanging up at the sound of Carrie's voice rising, "Shit."
"Everything ok?" Kate studied her carefully.
"Yea," Kelly replied, her voice several pitches higher than normal. She cleared her throat. "Um, yea, everything's fine. Come in."
Kate followed her into the hotel room, "Ashley said to tell you she's running late."
"Late? Late for what?"
"Movie night," Kate reminded.
"Movie night...yea...I forgot..." she admitted.
"Were you sleeping?" Kate asked, noticing the bed that was all messed up.
"Um, no, just talking to Carrie."
Kelly's phone started to ring.
"Speaking of," she gave a nervous laugh as she answered it. "Hey Care..."
"Did you hang up on me?" her voice was a little shaky.
Kelly struggled not to smirk, "Yea, sorry. Someone was knocking on the door. You ok?"
"No...no, I'm not, and do you want to know why?"
"Why?"
"Because I'm horny as hell and my girlfriend just hung up on the me in the middle of phone sex!" Carrie exclaimed.
Kelly pulled the phone back from her ear, her face turning bright red as Kate's eyebrows flew up, "Um...Care...Kate's sitting right next to me, and you said that kinda loud."
"I don't care. It's her fault, anyway."
Kelly laughed softly, signaling to Kate she'd be right back as she walked into the bathroom for a little privacy, "Care, I'm sorry. Someone was knocking and I got nervous."
"You didn't have to answer," she could hear the pout in her voice.
"We're having a movie night. I completely forgot about it. Are you mad?"
"I swear if I didn't have to be up for four in the morning, I'd fly over there so we could finish this in person."
Kelly laughed softly, "You sure you have to go to that interview?"
"Don't tempt me," Carrie warned. "So...movie night, huh?"
"Yea," Kelly nodded.
"Who's all gonna be there?"
"Just me and Kate and Ashley."
"Sounds fun," her voice softened. "I wish I were there."
"Me too," she agreed.
"Do me a favor?"
"Of course."
"Apologize to Kate for me."
"Sure," Kelly giggled. "Poor girl has heard way more than her fair share these past few weeks."
"Well, if you would've said something..."
"I tried, and don't you take your sexual frustrations out on me," she teased.
"Ugh."
"Baby...go take you a nice bubble bath and relax, then go cuddle up in your bed and get some sleep. It's getting late over there, anyway, and like you said, you have an early morning."
"Ok," she yawned.
Kelly smiled, "I miss you."
"I miss you too," she replied sweetly. "I'll call you after the interview tomorrow?"
"Sounds perfect."
"Bye baby."
"Bye Care," Kelly hung up the phone.

"If I traded it all,
If I gave it all away for one thing,
Just for one thing."

Carrie studied the woman across the table from her nervously.
"So, how's everything?" Shanna asked.
"Good," Carrie nodded.
"Kelly has a new album coming out, I heard."
"Yea?" Carrie smiled slightly.
"Yea, I was just flipping through the channels, and she was on a talk show or something," she shrugged.
"Yea," Carrie bit her lip. "She's doing promo right now."
"And are y'all..."
"Still together? Yes."
"Do you know for how long?"
"For a very long time if I have anything to say about it."
Shanna nodded, poking at the noodles on her plate.
"I know you just want to protect me," Carrie said softly.
"That's all I'm trying to do," she agreed.
"You don't have to protect me from Kelly. Trust me, she'd never hurt me."
"It's not her I'm trying to protect you from. It's everyone else. Do you know what people will say about you?"
"I don't care," she frowned.
"What about your career? I know you care about that. You've worked so hard for it. Are you willing to just throw it all away for her? Do you like her that much?"
Carrie's jaw tensed as she fought back tears, "Yes."
Shanna sighed, "Don't cry."
"I really like her."
"I can see that," Shanna replied, reaching out to tuck a curl behind her baby sister's ear. "I just want what's best for you."
"And if I said Kelly is what's best for me?"
"Do you truly believe that?"
"Yes," she sniffed.
"Then I'm not gonna fight you on this."
"You'll try?"
"I'll try," she agreed.

"Hey Ace," Shanna smiled as they walked into Carrie's house, the small dog jumping at their feet. "Was he clothesless the last time I was here?"
"Yea," Carrie laughed softly. "Kelly's idea. She was right. He loves it."
"Cute," Shanna nodded, following her into the living room.
"You want something to drink?"
"No, I'm good," she sat down.
Carrie joined her on the sofa.
"So...you have a girlfriend..."
"Looks like it," she nodded.
Shanna watched her carefully, "Why didn't you tell her you were a virgin?"
"I don't know," she shrugged, blushing slightly. "Embarrassed I guess."
"That's not something to be embarrassed about. You should've been proud."
"Of being a twenty-five year old virgin?" Carrie raised an eyebrow.
"Well, it wasn't from lack of opportunity. It was a choice."
"Yea, I guess, but still..."
"So, I take it she wasn't?"
"No," she shook her head. "That was actually one of the things we talked about when we were just friends. This guy she used to date--he was totally using her."
"That sucks."
"Yea."
"I'm guessing y'all have talked about it now?"
"Yea, of course."
"And she's ok with it?"
"Yea, she was a little hurt I didn't tell her, but she didn't have a problem with it. She actually tried to recreate it for me. She set up this totally romantic night when I met her out in France."
"That's sweet...wait, why'd you say tried?"
"Um, well, I was kind of a little too eager to go slow..."
Shanna's face managed to turn redder than her sister's, "Oh..."
"Yea..."
"Well, um," she cleared her throat. "I guess the appropriate response from your older, more experienced sister would be to say that it's good that you two, um, click on that level...that's important in any relationship."
Carrie had to hold back her laughter.
"Hey, come on, I'm trying here."
"I know, I know," she held up a hand in apology. "And I love you so much for that."
"You better," she replied with a smile.
Carrie stretched out on the sofa, laying her feet on her sister's lap.
"So...what else have you told her?"
Carrie frowned.
"Ah...Carrie, you shouldn't lie to her about this."
"I'm not lying to her."
"Hasn't she not noticed anything?"
"A couple times."
"And what did you say?"
"That I went to the doctor, and I'm on medication...that's the truth."
Shanna sighed.
"I'm fine, ok? I took the medicine, and I'm fine. I don't see why I should worry her about nothing," Carrie folded her arms.
"You don't think she'd want to know?" she asked softly.
"I think...I think that she has been through a lot these past few months, and I promised that I'd always be there for her. If she thinks something's wrong with me...I don't want her to run."
"She's a runner?"
"Big time. Relationship issues out the wazoo."
"And what do you think's better? Her getting nervous about you being sick and maybe, possibly leaving in which case she wasn't right for you anyway, or her finding out that you've been lying to her since the beginning?"
"How will she find out that I've been lying to her? I'm perfectly fine," Carrie reminded. "And why are you so worried, anyway? I get that you're trying and all, but I doubt you'd be seriously upset if she and I didn't last."
"I just...if you're doing this relationship thing, I want you to do it right. This isn't something you can take lightly."
"I know, and I don't."
"So, you'd give up your career, and lie about your health for God knows how long just to make this girl happy?"
Carrie nodded.
"Well, all I've got to say is that she better be willing to do the same for you, otherwise I'm calling this thing off...not because she's a girl, but because she is no where near good enough for you."
Carrie laughed lightly.
