Part Eleven – Reunion
“My Prince.” The voice that whispered to him was so very, very familiar, but it seemed as though it were a dream. For why else would he be hearing Toshiya in this place? There was no way that Blood and Darkness would let them near one another . . . was it? So, for that reason, Kyo told himself he was hallucinating. He cuddled up in his pillows more, having been returned to his cage after the session before the full-length mirror hours ago. He sighed softly into the fluff he was snuggled to, and felt as he began to melt into the darkness of his mind that would bring sleep. That peace was disturbed yet again by the phantom of his love, but that next time it was by a touch accompanied by voice. The tips of strong fingers brushed his bare shoulder gently, and once more, that whispered appeal. “My Prince.” Kyo almost jumped to feel it, and he came from the depths of the waking mind’s sunset immediately. No one ever dreamed of feeling touch among the pixies. That had to have been real!
In seconds, he was awake, and looking at the form of his beloved through the gilded bars of his cage. Toshiya was kneeling, his strong fingers wrapped around the silver, bejeweled bars which kept them from one another. He looked at Kyo with sad, yet loving eyes – and reached through the bars towards the blonde with one hand after releasing the gilded prison. “My Kyo.” Toshiya whispered, stroking the trapped pixie’s face with the tips of his fingers. “I was so afraid you were dead.” There were tears in the tall beauty’s eyes, and as Kyo pressed his cheek to the touch, he reached up and took Toshiya’s hand, pressing his full palm against his warm flesh.
“I’m alright, Totchi.” Kyo replied, closing his eyes once more and drinking in the simplistic touch of another demi-fey. He could feel tears coming to him as well; having been denied this simple pleasure and comfort for so long. Especially from the one he loved. The Prince of Dragons stroked the other pixie’s hand gently while he was held, and soon, he kissed the tall one’s palm gently. He opened his brilliant eyes, allowing the other to see how they shined like jewels even more so with tears in them. “I’ve missed you so much. How… how did you get to come in here?”
“A friend came and got me while our captors are out hunting down one of their own.” Toshiya whispered in return, leaning in close to the bars. There was a tiny, conspiratorial smile on his lips. “He says he’s seen you before. Came to you here himself. Isn’t Shinya beautiful, Kyo?”
“Yes, he is.” Kyo smiled in return, taking his love’s hand from his cheek so he could hold it in his hand and stroke the other’s skin lightly. He felt Toshiya squeeze his own hand in return and the other man smiled and laughed. Both were crying then, sobbing softly as they gazed at one another through the sparkling bars which trapped the blonde inside. “Do we have much time together?”
“No. The hunts for lawbreakers are relatively fast, you see. The one who . . . the one who . . . owns me now . . .” A soft blush of shame formed across the snowy beauty’s cheeks. “He can scent the blood of those whom his kind have rightfully condemned.”
“But . . . aren’t the Cwn Annwn all gone?” Kyo whispered softly. “The last King was the one whom controlled . . .”
“The Wild Hunt still holds power. The Gabriel Ratchets still bay at their prey and even Gytrash still walks this world to fool mortals into his traps. The Sidhe did not leave behind them their magic, or the frightful things they could control when the Goddess turned her eyes from them. In fact, they merely grew darker. My . . . master . . . He is not of the Cwn Annwn. But his magic is similar. Almost as if he were descended of them, though there is nothing of a beast in him.” Toshiya’s eyes then narrowed. “Not as there is something of the beast in the one who holds you captive, my Prince. But such wording should not be spoken where Blood and Darkness may hear us. Lord Daisuke has told me much about The Prince of the Sidhe.”
“Lord Daisuke?” Kyo’s question was almost a scoff. He tilted his head lightly, looking at Toshiya with a raised eyebrow. “You speak his title with such clarity I’d think you harbored honest sincerity in using it.” He drew his hand slowly from Toshiya’s, but the tall beauty grabbed him and held his fingers tightly, lacing his own through the blonde’s. “Toshiya.”
“Kyo. I have no adoration for him. I’m merely stating the form of his name in the fashion how he asks me to address him, for it is all I know to call him.” He watched as the blonde prince turned his face away, his eyes closed and his head slightly bowed. Toshiya could not read the expression but so deeply.
“Your voice held something else.” Kyo’s tone was soft, but there was darkness within it. Slowly, he looked up at his beloved. “However, since our time together is short. . . tell me what you know of Kao . . . of Blood and Darkness.”
“You call him such a familiar term as his very name?” The beauty moved from the bars, standing as he did. “And yet you scold me for calling my Master by the title he bayed me address him as?!”
“Your Master? You dare to put yourself on the level they’ve created for our kind?! Go then, get away from me! You wish to be a slave and call him your Master!”
“I did not mean it like that!” Toshiya cried out, turning back towards Kyo. “I was merely stating . . .”
“There is no other way to mean such a word. Only a slave calls another his Master.” The blonde growled - his fangs on display for the tall beauty to see. Toshiya backed away, even though Kyo was locked in his cage, unable to lash out at him.
“I called you Master once.” Wide, gray and snow eyes filled with tears, and Toshiya gripped the collar around his neck lightly, staring at the form growling at him behind the gilded bars.
“And what did I tell you the day that you did, you foolish thing?”
“You . . .” His voice caught on the words. “You will be no . . .” There came a soft gasp, and tears rolled down the leggy pixie’s cheeks. The beautiful hand which had just minutes before been holding Kyo’s went towards his lips, touching them gently as Toshiya shook his head. “Kyo . . . My Prince, I . . .”
“You will be no slave to me.” Kyo told him, his voice low beneath the growl. “Nor to anyone else.” He’d been gripping the bar directly before him as he spoke. And, as he finished his words, he let it go, and slowly turned from the other. “It appears I was wrong. You have betrayed me, Toshiya. You’ve defiled the spirit of our people.” Kyo closed his eyes, and he felt his nose twitch as he growled once more. “Get out of my presence.”
For a long moment, Toshiya did not move. “Kyo . . . Lord Daisuke told me how you moaned for the Prince of Blood and Darkness. I smelled your scent all over the man myself. We both know what enjoyment smells like - enjoyment versus rape. We’ve smelled it so many times from mortals in the forest. As we’ve smelled it many times in the caves where our kind breed. The scent he carried. . . it was forced, but there was no lack of enjoyment from you. Was there?” He watched as Kyo’s back went rigid, and he shook, believing that no matter what happened after that moment, he and Kyo would never be at peace with one another again. “You say that I’ve defiled the spirit of our people? Perhaps you should look in the mirror, my Prince. For you seem to be enjoying the collar around your neck as well.” The tall beauty then turned, and all but ran from the room. As he went, he knocked against a piece of furniture, tipping over an antique to roll across the floor, into the eternal darkness of Kaoru’s room. Toshiya either did not notice, or did not care, for he vacated the quarters with a slam of the doors, not picking up the item he’d knocked down. He also did not see that a small cloud of sparkling smoke had began to pour from it, curling in the air like a soft mist in the early morning air. He’d released something rather sinister into the room of Blood and Darkness, something so sinister it had to be locked away forever, in the endless shadows of the Sidhe Prince’s room once he’d recovered it from the mortal world.
Kyo was on his hands and knees, his head bowed down, his breath coming in short, sharp gasps. Tears were rolling down his cheeks, and his heart felt like it was twisting in his chest to rise into his throat. His claws gripped into one of the pillows he was over as he sobbed, softly, quietly, over the words shared by himself and the one he loved most in the world. He did not notice that there was a figure in the darkness, watching him as he mourned the love he thought lost forever in harsh words. Nor did he notice that the figure waved its hand silently in the air. The lock on Kyo’s cage clicked lightly, and the door swung open, swaying on its hinges.
In the darkness, the figure disappeared, as if it had never been there in the first place, its job for the time being was done.

*Notes - Wow. : x I didn't see that. . . wow. LOL. Once more, my muses surprise me!! Anyway, after this chapter, it might start to get a little wonky. I hope it really doesn't start to get stupid. I'm trying very hard with all the folklore I'm including. And yes, next chaper, the 'sinister' thing which . . . well, you'll see. : D I just hope I do it right -.- Anyway, I didn't want to make Die too much like Doyle from Laurell K. Hamilton's Meredith Gentry series. . . so Die got associated with the Cwn Annwn instead of the Gabriel Ratchets. I may or may not touch on that more. I'm not sure. XD We'll see!! I hope this wasn't too stupid. I suck at drama -.-;*
