Shinya's stomach twisted with worry. Kyo had brought him somewhere public, a bad sign. Shinya had already figured it was a bad sign because it was a public place. A place that was shameful to loose face.
This was a very bad sign, indeed.
Kyo couldn't even bring himself to look at Shinya. He got a cigarette out from the pocket in his pack and stuck it between his lips, hoping Shinya wouldn't notice the slight tremor in his hands, but of course he did. It had been almost a year since they were together, Shinya knew almost every nook and cranny that made Kyo who and what he was. Kyo sucked on the cigarette and blew the smoke out nervously, aiming it away from the drummer. Shinya looked down.
"Talk to me....onegai shimas..."
"I..." Kyo looked nervously at Shinya. Kyo didn't say anything else until after he took another drag and blew it from his mouth. "Shinya-kun...you...you know I love you. I love you more than I've...ever loved another person in my entire life. More than my family, friends...More than Dir en grey..."
His last words held such bitterness that Shinya stared at Kyo.
"Why are you saying this to me?"
"Shinya-kun, we...we can't see each other anymore."
Shinya's whole body froze. His heart stopped beating, he stopped breathing. He couldn't feel anything except a slight prickle-like senstion that covered his body. Had he died in that moment, he didn't think he'd even realize or care. Kyo and he weren't going to be together.
"D-...doushite....?"
"I'm tired of Kaoru-sama riding my ass about it."
Shinya stared at Kyo and felt the stare turn into a glare. That's IT? The ONLY reason he's breaking up the best and only love Shinya ever, ever felt was because he was angry with Leadersama?
"Well, that's pretty damn selfish, don't you think?"
It was Kyo's turn to stare at Shinya. "What the fuck did you just say to me?"
"I said you were being selfish, breaking up our relationship because Kaoru-sama is giving you a hard time about it."
What the fuck is wrong with him? "You don't understand!"
"I understand perfectly well. God forbid you should suffer for someone you "love", Kyo-san."
Kyo stood and glared at Shinya, his nostrils flaring in anger. He clenched his fists and tried with all of his might not to strike out and hit Shinya. He clenched his teeth and gritted out, "I'll have you know that he's saying I'm not doing my job, that I'm ruining Dir en grey. Can you understand that are you so stupid that I have to spell it out for you again?"
Shinya stood and glared down at the vocalist. "Stand up to him, Kyo-san! You are our vocalist!"
"Don't you think I've fucking tried?! I've done everything from getting angry to begging to ignoring him. He won't budge, dammit!"
Shinya turned and put his back to Kyo, trying to take this all in. He'd seen the way Kyo and Kaoru looked at each other. It was never a nice look, it hadn't been that way for the past four months.
"I guess this our first and last fight then. Oyasumi nasai." Before Shinya could turn to try and stop him, Kyo had left, walking quickly toward the bus stop. Shinya watched helplessly as he saw Kyo get onto the bus and leave without so much as a backward glance, leaving Shinya alone, freezing cold, and not from the weather.
