Chapter 12: You Make Me Smile with My Heart
∞♥♥∞
January went fast, and before I knew it, February had arrived. Chris and I were going to meet up at our house for Valentine’s Day, so I wanted to make the day special. I had an idea that I hoped he wouldn’t find too cheesy. It might have been a little cheesy, but I figured he’d like it. I had gotten the idea from some show I had been flipping through. The characters were having a masked ball, and throughout the length of the ball, the girl left her boyfriend clues, sending him on a scavenger hunt to find her. If he found her by the time the masks came off at midnight, she would give herself to him. I thought it was a cool idea if you take away the whole ball thing. Also, I planned on Chris finding me well before midnight. Even if he didn’t, I was going to give myself to him. I had gotten us a room at the same hotel where he had first made love to me. I hoped he remembered. Then again, I was sure he couldn’t forget. I knew I never could.
I went about making the clues, and I even got a friend in on it. There would only be five clues. I didn’t want to have to wait forever for him and have the whole night wasted. I was so excited to start the game.
When the time finally came, and all the notes were left in place, I gathered up everything I needed for our hotel room, and then called Chris on his cell to put phase one into action.
He picked up on the second ring. “Hello?”
“Hey, baby. Are you on your way?”
“I’m on the plane right now. In fact, the stewardess is giving me the evil eye. She reminds me of Sanjaya. I'm not supposed to be talking on the cell while were in the air.”
“Ugh! She reminds you of Sanjaya? I’m glad I’m not on that plane!”
“Be nice.”
“I’m never nice when it comes to Sanjaya. We have a love-hate relationship.”
“I’m rolling my eyes.”
I smiled. “I figured you would be.”
“She’s headed over hear now. She’s gonna tell me to turn it off, I’m sure.”
“Well, before you go, I need to ask. Can you get a cab back to our house? I have something I need to do last minute.”
“You have all this time to do whatever it is you have to do. What could be more important than picking up your boyfriend?”
“I’m sorry. Don't be mad. I just—”
“Chillax! I’m just kidding. I’ll take a cab. It’s no big deal. Just don’t keep me waiting long, all right? I miss you, and I want to be with you.”
“I won’t be long. I promise! I love you.”
“I love you too. Gotta go! Bye.”
I hung up the phone, smiling, for I knew Chris probably had to go so abruptly because the Sanjaya stewardess had made him turn his phone off.
With one final check to make sure I had everything, I left the house, having made sure to lock up behind me. Finally, I went to go set our hotel room up for what I hoped was an incredibly hot and romantic Valentine’s Day.

I wasn’t mad, but I was curious as to why Blake couldn’t pick me up. I didn’t mind taking a cab, but still...
Once I arrived at the house, I paid and tipped the driver, and then I walked up the walkway. Blake wasn’t home, so I had to use my key to get in. It was a good thing I hadn’t forgotten it, I thought.
I shut the door behind me, and then headed up the stairs to relax. I might as well take a shower before Blake arrived home, I figured. Then again, it might be fun to wait for him and take one with him.
When I got to the bedroom, I was surprised to see a note on the bed. I picked it up and read it.
Welcome home, baby. I have decided to play a little game. I am somewhere special for Valentine’s Day, and I am eagerly awaiting your arrival. However, in order for you to get here, you’re going to have to find me first. You will have to find a series of five clues. After you have found the fifth clue, you will find me. Your first clue will be an easy one, but as you play on, it will get harder. Don’t worry. If you’re not here by dinnertime, I’ll send in the search party. Ha! Turn this note around for your first clue. I love you. See you tonight! -B
I grinned. What was that boy up to? I wondered. I turned the note around, and read his first clue.
Gambling can be fun as long as the game is won. Let’s play like they do in the city of sin. I have a king. You need this card to win.
I thought about it for a moment. The only card that could beat a king was an ace. Ace! I knew that meant that Ace must have the second clue. I called him up on his cell phone, hoping that I wasn’t wrong about this. Otherwise, I was going to look pretty stupid.
He picked up right away. “Hello, Chris. What may I help you with?”
“This is going to sound weird, but... Do you have the second clue?”
“Of course I do. However, I am under specific instructions that you have to come to my place before I can give you the clue.”
“Can’t you just give it to me over the phone?”
“Dude! What part of ‘I am under specific instructions that you have to come to my place before I can give you the clue’ did you not understand?”
“All right, all right. Sheesh!”
Ace laughed. “I’ll see you when you get here.”
I hung up the phone and left the house. I hoped the next clue wasn’t too hard to understand. This was kind of a cute game, but I was eager to get to Blake. I missed him so much.
When I got to Ace’s, I didn’t even turn the engine off. I was just grateful that Blake and I each had a car at our house. We had bought the cars when we realized that it was much more convenient for us to both be able to come and go as we pleased. His was a red Camaro, and mine was a green Mini Coop.
Anyway, I rang Ace’s doorbell.
“Who is it?” came his voice on the other side of the door.
“It’s Chris.”
“Chris who?”
“Ace, quit playing.”
“What? Chris is a very common name, you know.”
I sighed. “Chris Richardson.”
He opened the door, grinning widely. “Good to see you again. Here is your next clue.” He handed me a small index card. I have to go now. I’m supposed to be meeting Taylor. He’s in town, and we’re going to go catch up with a few people.”
I nodded. “Have fun.”
He pat my shoulder. “Good luck!”
“Thanks. Bye.”
“Bye.”
I got back in my car, and then read the next clue.
Cupid’s sent an arrow straight to my heart. Go to the Venice Boulevard and find what were made of at the Mini Mart. P.S. It rhymes with Blake fix.
I thought about it for a moment as I headed to the Mimi Mart. What rhymed with Blake fix that you could get at a grocery store? Blake... Bake... Cake... Cake! Cake... Bix, Cix... Kix... There was a cereal called Kix, but cake Kix wouldn’t make any sense unless they had a new flavor I didn’t know about. Dix. I smiled at this one. Fix, Gix, Hix... Hicks? Was Taylor the second clue? Why would he be at the Mini Mart though? Jix, Kix, Mix... “Cake mix! Duh!” I slapped my own forehead. I was going to have to step it up for the next clue. It shouldn’t have taken me that long on this clue, I knew.

I had my massage oils that Chris had gotten me for Christmas setting on the night stand. I had packed both Chris and I an overnight bag, so I had unpacked our clothes into the drawers, and stuffed the bags aside. Candles were lit all over the room, and I had the bed and a good portion of the floor covered in white rose petals. The petals were white because it had been a white rose that I had given Chris our last night of the American Idol tour.
Finally, I had his present waiting on his side of the bed for him. Ace had informed me that Chris had picked up the second clue. I would wait a bit longer to order our food. I didn’t want it getting cold.
I just remembered to put the CD in the portable player I had brought, so I did so. I had made a mix of songs that I felt defined us.
Once the CD was in the player, I knew that all I could do now was sit back and wait for Chris to find me. I sat in a chair and turned the television on, settling on SpongeBob. I hoped Chris found me soon. I was eager for history to repeat itself.

I knew I must have looked like an idiot, looking through all the cake mixes. I almost gave up when I didn’t find anything. Maybe there were cake flavored Kix after all, I thought. I was just about to leave for the cereal aisle, when a piece of paper caught my eye. It was taped to the back of a red cake mix box. It was the very last box.
I quickly snatched up the box, and took off the note. I smiled, for there was the third clue.
I miss you like crazy. Where do we go when we’re feeling lazy?
I smiled. I knew this one. A couple months before, a new Stone Cold ice cream parlor had opened up. When we didn’t want to stay home doing nothing, yet were too tired to go clubbing or do anything strenuous, Blake and I liked to go there to relax and have ice cream. We always got our favorite table by the window.
I went to Stone Cold and headed straight for our table. Unfortunately, a couple was already sitting there.
I blushed. “Excuse me. I’m sorry to bother you, but could I just check under your table and under your chairs? I know this sounds odd, but I’m on a scavenger hunt, and I think the clue has led me to here.”
The girl grinned. “I know you! You’re Chris Richardson!”
I nodded and smiled. “That would be me.”
“You can check anything you want!” she said, standing up.
“Can I get your autograph?” the guy asked, handing me his napkin.
“Sure. Do you have a pen?” I asked the girl.
The girl nodded, and took out a pen from her purse. “Here’s some paper too. It’s better to sign than a napkin.” She took out a tablet.
I laughed. “All right. Thanks.” I got both their names, Frank and Wendy, and signed one for Frank, and one for Wendy.
I gave Wendy a hug, and shook Frank’s hand, and then finally they let me look.
I checked underneath their chairs, and then underneath the table. It figured it was the last place I looked. I took the note from underneath the table. I then thanked Frank and Wendy and bid them goodbye before heading back into my car to read the forth clue.
For this next clue, you don’t have to look far. You’ve had it with you all along. Look under your...
“Why did he trail off? Under my what?” I asked myself out loud. “Shouldn’t it rhyme with far?” As soon as the words left my mouth, I knew what he meant. I had it with me all along. Since there was no way for Blake to have planted the note somewhere on me, I knew the only logical explanation had to be my car. Car rhymed with far, and it was with me all along! I pulled over, and got out of the car. I looked underneath it. Sure enough, taped with masking tape underneath the car, just within reach on the driver’s side, was the next note.
Do one more thing and you’ll be done with all your chores. Drive to the place where we first made love. I’ll be waiting in the lobby; all yours.
I smiled, and got back into the car. I then headed straight for the hotel. I could hardly wait to take him in my arms and kiss him like crazy for thinking up something so romantic. I honestly didn’t know he had it in him.
B∞C
I smiled when I saw Chris walk through the doors of the hotel.
He saw me right away, and rushed over to me. He handed me a wrapped gift, and then pulled me in for a hug, and I gladly hugged him back.
“Thank you! I’m glad you found me all right. Happy Valentine’s Day, baby,” I murmured in his ear.
“Happy Valentine’s Day. You got us a room here, I presume?
I grinned and nodded. “Of course I did.”
“Well then let’s go up to it so that I can properly thank you.”
I moaned at his words, and nodded towards the elevator. “Let’s go. I managed to get us the same room as last time.”
He grinned. “Really?”
“I had to pull some strings, but yes.” There was another couple that had already gotten the room, but they were more than happy to move to another room when they found out that it was I who wanted the room.
We got into the elevator and headed up to our room. When we got there, I used the key and got in, making sure to get in first so that I could see Chris’ expression when he entered the room and saw all the candles and rose petals.
I set the present he gave me down on top of the drawers, and then stood back to watch is reaction.
His eyes got big, and his mouth literally dropped open a little when he saw the candles I had lit all around. His eyes fell to the rose petals on the floor, and followed them up to the bed, where his gift was waiting for him.
“This is perfect, Blake. When did you do all this?”
I smiled. “Today while I waited for you to find me. I didn’t order our food yet. I didn’t want it to get cold. I wasn’t sure how long it would take you to find me. You can be pretty slow at times.” I winked at him to show that I was only teasing him with that last part.
“Ha, ha. I think you’d be pretty proud of me. I figured them all our pretty quickly. Though, I’m ashamed to say the cake mix one took me a little bit longer than it should have.” He blushed.
“Don’t worry about that. All that matters is that you’re here with me now.” I took him into my arms and kissed him.
He kissed me back. “What do you say I properly thank you before we order our dinner?” He wriggled his eyebrows up and down at me.
I grinned. “I say you’re becoming far too much like me.”
“Is that a bad thing?” he asked.
I shook my head. “No, I guess not.”
“I’ll open this later.” He set his present down on the night stand.
He went to kiss me, but I pressed a hand to his chest. “Just a second.” I walked over to the player, and pressed play. Instantly, Maroon 5’s “She Will Be Loved” began to play. It was the song that was playing when we had made love for the first time. I took Chris into my arms again. “Now. Where were we?”
He wrapped his arms around me as well. “You remembered our song.”
“Of course I did. How could I ever forget?” I kissed him.
“I love you.” He kissed me back.
“Now, can we please stop talking so that you can make love to me?”
He grinned. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
B∞C
Everything came full circle when I made love to him. It reminded me exactly of the first night we had made love. Of course, this time we were even more firm in our relationship. I hoped that we would be together for many more years. Heck, I hoped we would be together forever.
Afterwards, we showered together, and then slipped into bathrobes.
Blake ordered our dinner, and I relaxed on the bed. It felt good to be able to relax after all the running around I had had to do earlier.
When Blake finished ordering, he sat down next to me.
“Thanks, by the way, for making me go all the way to Ace’s instead of just letting me find out the clue by phone,” I said.
He grinned. “Hey. I couldn’t make it too easy on you.”
“It was worth it in the end anyway,” I said.
“While we’re waiting for our food, do you want to open our gifts?”
I nodded. “We might as well.”
He got up and grabbed the present I gave him, and then sat back down on the bed.
I reached over and took mine from the bed stand.
“We’ll open them together,” he said.
“Okay.”
“One. Two. Three.”
We both tore open the paper to our presents.
I smiled when I saw the engraved frame that contained a picture of Blake staring at me during Hollywood week of the show.
“Do you like it? I found that picture Online. I guess I was caught staring at you before we even got to know each other. I actually remember that. I was thinking how handsome you were, and how you kind of looked like JT, only hotter.”
I looked at the frame again. It was silver, and had the infinite sign engraved on top. On the bottom, the words “Love at first sight” were engraved. There were hearts engraved along the sides.
“It’s perfect. I love it so much!” I was happy to see that he was indeed watching me. I wasn’t even aware of it in the picture.
He looked at his gift. It was a pair of black leather pants that laced in the front. “These are kind of cool.”
“I know it’s not something you would normally wear, but I saw them and couldn’t help but think how hot you would look in them. In fact, I’m sure I’m going to be completely insatiable for you whenever you wear them,” I said truthfully.
“Well in that case, let me put them on now.” He grinned, wriggling his eyebrows up and down suggestively.
I shook my head. “Trust me, you can have me all you want tonight without having to wear those. I want you to stay in that bathrobe until I take it off you.” I nodded towards the pants. “Save those for my birthday.”
He nodded. “All right. These will actually be cool to wear to clubs.”
“They are going to be tight, so you better wear underwear with those. I don’t want anyone else seeing what only I should see—even just the outline,” I said.
He laughed. “Deal.”
“Now come here and let me have a little appetizer before dinner,” I said, sticking my hands in his bathrobe and gently stoking the skin of his stomach.
He moaned, and pulled me down on top of him. “Gladly.”

Our Valentine’s Day had been even better than I hoped it would be. I swear after that night, as cliched as it may sound, Chris and I were more in love with each other than ever before.
Five days later, was his birthday. I flew down to be with him in Virginia. I figured he’d like to spend it there with his friends and family.
We were going to go out to dinner with his parents and sister, and then we would go bowling with his friends after that. Then it would be to a hotel to have “dessert”.
I decided to have a little fun. When we were eating, I let my hand rest on his lap underneath the table.
He rubbed the back of my hand, not seeming to know what I had in mind.
When I began to rub his crotch over his pants, he visibly jumped.
“What’s wrong?” Phyllis asked.
Chris blushed. “Nothing. I just got the chills all the sudden.”
Michelle, his sister, smirked. “More like his boyfriend has his hand where it shouldn’t be.”
I quickly moved my hand, feeling my face heat up. I had never been more embarrassed in my life. I couldn’t even look at anyone.
“Serves you right,” I heard Chris mutter under his breath. I detected a little amusement in his voice.
Very funny, I thought, not amused at all.
B∞C
After dinner, I hugged my parents and sister, and kissed my mom on the cheek. I thanked them all for the birthday gifts they gave me.
I had to smile to myself as Blake awkwardly said goodbye, barely catching anyone’s eye.
“Ah, don’t be embarrassed. I’m glad to see you love my brother so much,” Michelle said, hugging him.
He hugged her back, still a little red. “Thanks!”
“Boys will be boys,” my mother said with a chuckle.
“I’m going to have to teach you how to be more subtle,” my father said to him, winking.
Blake nodded, getting even more red now.
I laughed, and he rushed to the car.
Bowling with my friends was fun. They all loved Blake, so it was a great time. I got some great gifts as well.
However, when we got to the hotel, that was my favorite part of the night.
We undressed each other, and he lay me on the bed down below him, instantly kissing my lips, and moving down further. He licked and nipped at my neck, causing me to me to moan. He then kissed further down and circled his tongue around each nipple, scraping his teeth gently over them.
I moaned, and ran my fingers through his hair. He kissed and licked his way down my chest and stomach, and then he placed a kiss on both of my inner thighs.
“Blake, please don’t tease. It’s my birthday,” I said, my voice rugged already.
He smiled up at me. “Well, since it’s your birthday....” He licked the head in a slow and circular motion.
I groaned loudly, and arched my hips.
He gently held my hips down and licked over the middle before then taking me all the way down.
I closed my eyes and threw my head back, letting my fingers play with his hair again. He had recently died it dark again. I loved it dark. I always thought it made him look older.
He moved his mouth up and down on me, and I could hardly take the pleasure. I tried to hold back, for it would be highly embarrassing to lose it that soon.
At one point, he sucked only the head, moaning against it. It was impossible for me to hold back then. I gripped his hair and screamed out his name.
He smiled against my cock as he drank down everything I had. He then let my cock slip from his lips, and made his way up to my lips. “Good, baby?”
“Heck yes!” I said.
“Mm... Do you mind if I make love to you now, birthday boy?”
I grinned. “It would be an even better present than that cologne and designer shirt you gave me.”
He grinned too, and kissed me hard.
I moaned as I tasted myself on him. This was going to be a really good birthday I knew.
