Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. I do not know Kelly Clarkson. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
So, um, yea, i'll probably use a couple more kelly's songs, but they'll have to be the ones she wrote when she was younger, and there's one for sure she wrote when she was sixteen, one that she began before idol, but finished it after, and another one she wrote i wanna say it's after idol, but that'll be a no on carrie's songs, cause i mean, she hasn't really written any, besides the co-writes on her latest album. and, lol, it's 2000, and yes there were cell phones...i had to google it to make sure, cause i remember getting my first one my freshmen year in high school which was 2002, but i know my siblings had one before that, lol, they were the ones that kinda just looked like a cordless phone you'd find in a house, but a little smaller, anyway, update time.

"Kelly slow down," Carrie laughed as they raced down the handicap ramp in one of the theaters.
"Shh," Kelly giggled. "They're gonna hear us."
They were involved in a game of tag that easily beat any other game of tag that Carrie had ever played. Everybody was paired off, their wrist tied to their partners. The real trick was the fact that they were on rollerblades.
"Shit," Kelly cursed as she couldn't slow down and they both ran into the wall at the bottom.
"Remind me again how I got paired with the clumsiest person?" Carrie asked.
"Because we're the closest in height to each other," Kelly explained, their hands linked together to keep the string around their wrists from breaking. "Get down!" she hissed, pulling them both to the ground, hidden by the front row of seats as they heard voices entering the theater.
Carrie bit down hard on her bottom lip to keep from crying out as she banged her knee on the floor.
"Sorry," Kelly smiled cutely as the voices left.
Carrie shook her head, laughing.
"So, you're having fun?"
"How can I not have fun?" Carrie asked. "I got to watch the newest romantic comedy that isn't even released until next week for free while vegging out on way more candy than the American Dental Association would ever approve of, and now I'm playing the most retarded game of tag ever invented."
Kelly beamed, "Good. Cause we do this a lot."
"So, this is where you work?" Carrie asked, looking around from where they still lay on the floor, turning the flashlight that each team was allowed to have back on. With just the running lights down the aisles, the theater became rather dark.
"Yea, one of the places. Me and Jebbie. The one with the straight, kinda dirty blondish hair," she reminded.
Carrie nodded, "One of the places?"
Kelly shrugged as they struggled to get to their feet without falling, "Who doesn't need money?"
"True," Carrie laughed as they cautiously made their way back up the ramp. "So, about this getting to know each other, what do you want to know?"
"Um...way to put me on the spot."
"Well, you wanted to know."
"I wanted to find out," Kelly corrected as she peaked her head out of the door.
"Ok, then can I ask you something?"
"I don't know, can you?" Kelly turned back with a smirk.
"May I?" she rolled her eyes.
"Yes, you may," Kelly laughed.
"Did you really write that song?"
"Yea," she nodded, turning back around to look out the door.
"It was amazing," Carrie admitted softly.
"It's raw," Kelly replied.
"Like you."
Kelly turned back, raising an eyebrow. Carrie just shrugged in response.
"Come on," Kelly smiled, tugging her forward as soon as the coast was clear. They raced down a long hallway, finally finding a comfortable pace for both of them so that they weren't falling down every five seconds. They were about to turn a corner when Carrie saw a pair of girls flying around the corner at the opposite end of that hall. She spun them back around, slipping behind a cardboard cut that was shaped as three-sided 3-D rectangle for the next great action-adventure flick, pinning Kelly between her and the wall, and pulling the advertisement to them so that they were completely hidden inside of it.
Carrie found herself holding her breath as Kelly looked directly into her eyes, trying to catch her breath, their faces mere inches apart.
"Hi," Kelly whispered with a light laugh.
Carrie put her free hand on the wall right on the side of Kelly's head, trying to support herself so that she wasn't squishing the Texan. It wasn't helping at all. Every time she breathed out, Kelly was forced to breathe in.
"Nice hiding spot," Kelly grinned.
"You're the one that wanted to get closer," Carrie smirked, playfully leaning in. "Close enough for you?"
"Not nearly," Kelly replied, catching on to the game.
Carrie laughed, and Kelly quickly covered her mouth with her hand.
"Shh," she giggled.
Carrie smiled widely as Kelly's eyes danced with excitement.
"Turn off the flashlight," Kelly whispered. "I think some of the light might be creeping out the sides."
Carrie did as she was asked, feeling one of her rollerblades slip, causing her to fall completely onto Kelly. Kelly quickly wrapped her arms around her waist, catching her. Carrie felt her cheeks flush at the compromising position they were in: their bodies fully squished together, one of her legs in between Kelly's, their faces pressed against each others.
"S-sorry," Carrie managed.
"It's ok," Kelly replied, her lips grazing Carrie's cheek just to the side of her mouth. "Just don't move, cause if you do we'll both fall. Wait till they pass."
"Question?" Carrie offered.
"Alright," Kelly laughed.
"When was the last time you were this close to someone?" Carrie grinned.
Kelly smiled, "I don't know if I know you well enough for that yet."
"Aw, come on. It's just girl talk."
"I don't really date," Kelly admitted.
"Really?"
"I keep pretty busy with work and choir and school and stuff."
"Ah, so it's been a while then?"
"Yea, we'll leave it at that," Kelly nodded.
Carrie laughed.
"You're slipping," Kelly commented, feeling the taller blonde sliding out of her grip.
"Ok, hold on," Carrie replied, searching for the wall again with her free hand, but finding Kelly's stomach instead.
"No tickling," Kelly laughed.
"Sorry," Carrie smiled. "I can't see at all."
Kelly took Carrie's hand and guided it to the wall behind her. Carrie put her weight onto her hand, pushing herself up along Kelly's body.
The Texan took in a sharp breath.
"You ok?" Carrie asked quickly, feeling the tip of her nose touching Kelly's. "I didn't hurt you did I?"
"I'm ok," she blushed.
"How much would this suck if one of us had bad breath?" Carrie giggled.
"Um..." Kelly grinned.
"Shut up," Carrie laughed. "We're both chewing the same type of gum. I got it from you, remember?"
"That's what they all say."
Carrie stifled another laugh at the sound of rollerblades on the carpeted floor.
Kelly held her breath, holding onto Carrie tightly.
"You think we're good?" she whispered.
"I think so," Carrie nodded.
"So how do we do this without busting our asses?" Kelly giggled.
"Ok, um, I can hold myself up I think," Carrie said, leaning on her arm. "Can you push the cut out away from us?"
"Yea, just...don't move," Kelly replied, having to push herself completely into Carrie in order to reach the cutout behind her enough to push it back. "Sorry," she whispered, her breath tickling Carrie's ear.
"You're good," Carrie assured her, swallowing hard.
"Ok, got it," Kelly smiled, leaning back against the wall.
Carrie turned the flashlight back on, smiling as the Texan's face came into clear view, "Well that was fun."
Kelly laughed, shaking her head as Carrie got her balance, and guided them out from behind the advertisement and back into the hall. "Definitely interesting."

"What time is it?" Carrie yawned as the group of girls groggily made their way to their cars.
"Half past a monkey's ass," Ashley replied.
The girls laughed, and Kelly linked arms with Carrie, glad that all in all the night had been a success. She and Carrie were back on speaking terms, and the new girl seemed to fit in quite well with her friend's after all.
"So who's going where and with whom?" Jessica asked.
"I'm going home," Kelly raised her hand.
"You snuck out, didn't you?" Jessica laughed.
Kelly smiled sheepishly.
"So who's bringing the escapee back?"
"I can bring her," Carrie offered. "I'm going that way, anyway."
Kelly grinned, wrapping her arms around her, hugging her as they walked, "I knew I liked you for a reason."
"Alright, anybody else needs a ride?" Jessica asked.
"No, we're going with Ashley," Mary replied.
"Yea," Lyndsey nodded.
"Ok, be safe."
"Yes mommy," Kelly smiled.
Jessica laughed, pushing her playfully, making both her and Carrie stumble.
"Too early in the morning," Carrie grumbled, finding her balance.
"Night y'all," Kelly waved to the rest of them as they reached Carrie's car and climbed in.
"You really snuck out?" Carrie asked as she started the car and pulled out of the parking lot.
"It's not like a bad sneak out," Kelly replied watching as Carrie yawned again. "It's just an 'I'd rather not have my mom worry about where I am' sneak out. Are you sure you're ok to drive?"
"Yea," Carrie shrugged her off. "It's not that late."
"It's four-thirty," Kelly replied.
"Seriously?"
Kelly nodded.
"No," Carrie groaned, her shoulders slumping.
"What? What's wrong?"
"If I go home at this time in the morning, my parents are gonna flip," she frowned.
"You can stay at my place, if you want," Kelly offered.
"Really? Cause you'd be seriously saving my life."
"Well, anything to save your life," she smiled.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you."
