Everlasting Love(Pt12)
Joe poured more wine into Evelyn’s stemmed crystal flute. Sitting the bottle back in the bucket of ice, he picked up his glass. Joe let his eyes wonder over her face, they stopped on the pulsing in her throat before traveling down to the gentle swell of her breast. Even at 43 she took his breath away.
Evelyn glanced up and saw him appraising her over the rim of his glass.
“What?”
“Your stunning tonight.” Joe told her reaching across the table to take her hand. Joe brushed his lips over the soft skin of her hand.
Evelyn’s heart thumped in her chest by the simple gesture and the desire in his eyes.
“You’ve made me very happy Evelyn, by giving us a second chance.” Joe said lowering their hands to the table.
“I love you and it took a lot of thought Joe, on my part.”
Joe shifted in his seat. “Something else for you to think about.” He said and slid the small black velvet box across the table. “Will you marry me?”

Amber pulled the broken pieces of the knob from the door. Her arms ached from repeatedly hitting it with the hammer. She had stopped at one point and looked for the key and cursed under her breath, because she couldn’t find it.
Dropping the hammer she stood there a moment to catch her breath before pushing the door open. Stepping cautiously into the dark room, the smell that rented the air made her swallow hard. Reaching for the light switch she flipped it…nothing.
“Rick.” She called out stepping further into the room. Amber strained her eyes to see in the darker shadows that the hall light didn’t reach. Moving further in, her foot kicked one of the bottles.
“Uncle Sav are you in here?”
“You haven’t called me that in years.”
Amber turned at his voice. She could barely make out the out line of his body sitting on the floor in the corner. “No I haven’t.”
“What are you doing in here?”
“I was worried about you. I wanted to see if you’re alright.” Amber took a step toward him.
“Well I’m not and don’t come any closer.”
“Why?” Amber noted the deep tone in his voice, the way his speech was off a bit and realized that he was talking around his fangs. “Rick come into the light so I can see you.”
“No.”
“I just want to help.”
”I don’t want or need your help, now get out.”
“Please Rick tal….”
”GET OUT!!” Sav screamed at her.
Amber took a step back, he had never raised his voice to her before and it stunned her, but only for a moment, then anger rose. She spun on her heels and left the room. Coming back about ten minutes later she clicked on the flashlight and swung it around the room.
The bright beam fell on Sav in the corner. She gasped at his appearance, and tears burned her eyes.
Sav turned his head away and threw up his hand to ward off the brightness of the light. Shifting to sit sideways so that Amber couldn’t see his face.
Amber gathered her courage and went over to him, she crotched down beside him, ignoring the smell of sour sweat that covered him. “Rick.” she lightly touched her arm.
Sav cringed from her touch and scooted away.
“Rick you have to pull yourself together, not for yourself, but for Kyle, he needs his father.”
Sav was slowly shaking his head and started softly humming.
“Do you think any of this will be solved if you stay like this? No it’s only going to get worse. What’s it going to take to make you see that everyone needs you?”
“Nobody wants me anymore.” Came his barely there whisper.
Amber leaned forward and tugged on his shoulder. “Daddy wants you…I want you.”
Those words spun in his mind, the woman that said them. His movement was swift and Amber didn’t know what hit her until she opened her eyes to see Sav above her.
Amber couldn’t move, he had her pinned to the floor with his body. The sliver of light that they lay in offered her a full view of his face. Sav had a wild look in the depth of his amber eyes, fangs full extended.
”Do you have any idea what it feels like to be abandon, empty inside? I have nothing inside anymore, no one.”
“It doesn’t have to be that way.”
“It’s my reality now.”
Amber didn’t understand what he meant by ‘his reality.’ She noticed the color get deeper in his eyes.
“You want me?” Sav hissed in her face.
“Yes.”
“This wanting of yours cost me the one man I love.”
“Mine?” Amber found her voice of anger. “You wanted this as muc…”
“Then have me you will.” He angrily growled close to her lips.
Amber didn’t have time to protest as Sav’s mouth come down hard on hers, pushing against her lips with his tongue. She sucked in a sharp breath when his hand closed roughly around her breast. Amber started trying to push him off by his shoulder.
Sav tore his mouth from hers, rose up and ripped her shirt open. The thin material of her slacks gave way easily under his strength.
The stinging on her legs from where he tore her pants away, Amber’s mind screamed at what he was going to do. She started hitting and screaming at him to stop. But she knew from his state of mind that he wouldn’t.

Evelyn gasped, covering her mouth with her hand, staring at the 2ct marquis cut diamond in white gold, nestled in the black velvet box. Tears sprang to her eyes and spilled down her cheeks. This was so unexpected, she didn’t know what to do. Every time she broached the subject of getting married, Joe would knock it down and always refused to. Now all of sudden he was asking her to marry him. Was it because she was giving their relationship another try or the fact that Sav was no longer a part of his life and he was on the rebound.
She was unaware that Joe had slid into the seat beside her. “Evelyn.”
She turned tear filled eye to him. “W..what changed your mind?”
“The thought of losing you, not having you in my life.” Joe brushed the tears from her cheeks with his thumb. He then picked up the box and removed the ring, taking her hand in his, Joe looked deep in her eyes.
“Marry me Evelyn.”

Amber’s cries went unnoticed, his weight pinned her to the floor, her arms stretched above her head, as Sav thrust hard into her over and over. His free hand rough over her breast and sides, his mouth crushing, bruising her already swollen lips. The smell of his body, stronger now, as he began to sweat, the animal like grunts deep in her ears.
This is not how she wanted their joining to be, this wasn’t love, this was his madness taking over his mind.

Evelyn stared into those green eyes that she has loved all these years, saw the hope, the promise of a future together, but still, the hint of emptiness there for Sav.
She took a shallow breath. “Yes Joe, I’ll marry you.”
The smile lit up Joe’s face, spread to hers, as he took Evelyn’s finger and slid the ring on, then brought it to his lips.
Joe wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her close. “I love you.”
”I love you more.” She whispered in his ear.
Joe leaned back, kissing her deeply.
“This calls for a toast.” He told her grabbing the bottle and filling up her glass. He picked his up. “To the most beautiful woman that I can finally call my wife.”
“Finally.” Evelyn giggled and touched his glass. The soft cling of crystal rang in their ears.
Joe gulped his down and poured more. “Do you want a big wedding or something small and simple?”
“Oh…simple I guess. Family, close friends.” Evelyn looked down at the ring and grew quiet.
Joe titled her head back up to look at him. “Happy.”
“Yes, very much.”
“So am I.” He kissed her again and moved back over to his seat. He sipped his blood wine steadily watching her.
“Joe.” Evelyn started, reaching for his hand. “I want you to do something for me.”
“Anything.”
“Talk to Amber, make things right between the two of you.”
Joe’s smile faded and he pulled his hand away. “I don’t know if I can do that yet.”
“She’s heartbroken over what happened and she misses you.”
“Where would you like to get married?” Joe tried to change the subject.
“In our bedroom, does it really matter?”

Amber dug her fingernails into Sav’s back when he released her hands, hoping that would stop him, it was no use, he was lost in the act of slamming into her body. She felt his weight shift above her, his hand gripping her chin, to push her head aside. The sharp points of his fangs scrape her throat, then plunged deep. Amber let out a strangled cry, felt the building pressure as he took her blood. The throbbing of his cock as he came deep inside her.
The first mouthful hit his tongue and burned like fire when he swallowed. He tried to pull away, but Sav’s mind was not his own as lust and need drove him to take more. The love for the man he now tasted in her blood, kept him latched to her throat, pulling hard on the tainted blood as it burned like acid across his tongue and down his throat.

Joe chuckled at her choice, swirling the last of his drink in his glass. “No I gues….” His voice trailed off, the glass slipped from his finger, shattering on the table.
Evelyn looked up at him, the stark fear plain on his face. “Joe what is…?”
Joe slammed his hands on both sides of his head, a pain filled yell rumbled from his chest. When he opened his eyes, they had changed to a light amber color. He bolted from his seat, tripping over the leg of a chair at the table beside them, he plummeting to the floor, hitting with a grunt.
Evelyn hastily grabbed her stuff and ran after him as he scrambled to his feet. “Joe where are you going?”
”Home.” And he was out the door.
Tom the restaurant owner stopped Evelyn just as she reached the door.
“Is everything alright?”
”I’m not sure Tom. I have to go, I’ll come by tomorrow to pay the bill.”
“That will be fine.” He called after her.
Evelyn hurried out to the car, glancing around for Joe, she didn’t see him anywhere. Sliding behind the wheel and she revived up the car, roaring from the parking lot, heading toward home.

In the Wales countryside, Nick was strolling around the grounds of his ancestral home. The castle had long since fallen to decay and could barely be seen where it once stood. The lush green rolling hills remained the same, as they were in his childhood a thousand years ago.
Nick surveyed the land around him. He wanted to rebuild the castle in its entire splendor and glory. Fill the rooms with furniture of his childhood, most of which remained safely packed away.
The sights and sounds of a thousand years ago filled his head. His mother buying goods from the gypsies, while his father tended to the livestock. His little sister, Fleur ran around the courtyard chasing the chickens, her laughter floated on the wind around him.
That laughter faded away, to be replaced by a wail of anguished pain, sending him to his knees in the wet grass. Nick barely pulled himself together and focused on the pain and it’s source. Struggling to his feet, he blocked most of it out and leaped into the air, flying as fast as he could toward the green island of Ireland.

Halfway around the world, Phil’s startled cry pulled Gail from her sleep. She placed her hand on his arm as he clutched his head.
”Phil what is it?” she asked, alarm for his well being in her voice. He never woke in the middle of the day from bad dreams and this frightened her.
“aahh…something…” Phil scrambled from the bed and snatched up the phone, his hand pressed to his forehead. “Get the plane ready, send a car…NOW!” he screamed into the phone. Phil slammed it down, his hands shaking as he dressed quickly.
Gail didn’t ask questions as she too dressed and followed him to the living room to await the car. Something was terrible wrong, Gail knew as she watched Phil pace the floor.
