Josh was having the time of his life in Indiana. He took Louisa to all his old childhood and teenage haunts and two nights before they were due to return to New York he took her out on a date while his Mother and Max minded Josef, Sam and Ben. Now it was after dinner on the night before their return to New York and Louisa was sitting at the dining table busy uploading the dozens of photos she had taken during the previous ten days.

Having fun?’ Josh whispered approaching her from behind and rubbing her shoulders.

‘Hmm I am’ Louisa replied with a smile leaning into his touch ‘I’m going to upload the lascivious pics of you later when we go to bed’

‘Shhhhh!’ Josh hissed ‘I don’t want everyone to know what we get up to with your camera’

‘J everyone’s in bed we’re the only one’s downstairs’ Louisa said ‘no one’s going to find out about our experimentation with the Pentax’

‘Good because I want to keep that between ourselves’

‘But maybe when we get home I’m going to go and by some lingerie so we can do a proper shoot’ Louisa whispered as Josh leaned in to kiss her on the neck ‘want to come with me or would you prefer the surprise?’

‘Hmm I might go for the surprise I’m not sure I’ll be able to control myself if I see you try on lots of lacy sets’ Josh whispered his hands drifting down to her breasts where he lazily kneaded them ‘I’d be forced to take you hard and fast up against the wall’

‘You have no idea how close I am to saying yes you know’ Louisa whispered as Josh pulled out a chair and sat down next to her.

Josh was suddenly cut off from finishing his sentence by his blackberry ringing shrilly and the caller I.D flashing up ‘Edna’ the name of his long time manager.

‘I wonder what Eddie’s ringing me for?’ he said in surprise ‘’scuse sweetheart Hello?’

‘Oh great Josh I’m glad I got you’ Edna said in a relived tone ‘How’s things back home?’

‘Good just winding down before we fly back to New York tomorrow’ Josh said ‘what’s happening?’

‘I’m ringing to ask you a huge favour’ Edna said ‘how would you like a holiday season gig?’

‘Depends what the gig it’ Josh said as Louisa got up and began massaging his scalp.

‘How would you feel about doing the Rockefeller Plaza tree lighting?’ Edna asked.

‘What happened to Christina Aguilera doing it?’ Josh asked ‘NBC have been promoting the hell out of it the last couple of weeks’

‘She’s come down with Shingles and has been ordered onto immediate bed rest’ Edna said ‘and NBC want to go for a more classical look. Yo Yo Ma has already agreed to perform and I know Brian Avnet is trying to get Josh Groban to sing’

‘Shit Eddie the tree lighting is four days away I need more time to rehearse than that’

‘Please Josh you’d be helping out a whole lot if you did this for me’ Edna pleaded ‘and I doubt you’ll need that much time to rehearse you’ve been playing Christmas carols since you were small. They’d be a part of your DNA by now wouldn’t they?’

‘Well....yes’ Josh conceded ‘I suppose the same would go for Ma’

‘I was going to pull out that angle if I had to grovel’ Edna said with a laugh ‘Tom the director is good friends with Brian Avnet and Groban and with Illuminations rocketing up the Billboard charts at the moment having him at the tree lighting would boost that further. It wouldn’t do the sales of At Home With Friends any harm either’

‘Ed I released that over a year ago’ Josh said.

‘I know that but you’re as popular as Groban is on the classical side of things Josh if you do this is could boost tings a little’

‘I’ve only just come off tour I was kinds hoping for a quiet rest of the year’

‘J that was two months ago I promise if you do this for me I will leave you alone for the rest of the year’ Edna pleaded ‘you’re my guy Josh my star client. You’re the reason I stay in the business well past the normal retiring age. I love working with you’

Josh laughed heartily.
‘Alright I’ll do it’ he said ‘email me the details and I’ll be in touch with you when I get in tomorrow alright? Just give me a few hours to settle back home and drop Jo back at Lisa’s and I’ll come to the office alright?’

‘I love you Joshua Bell seriously if I was thirty years younger I’d date you’ Edna said with a relieved laugh.

‘Ha ha’ Josh said dryly ‘well that’s Louie’s job now I’ll let her know you fancy me though’

‘Ha ha’

‘I don’t know if you should let Rich know he might head for the divorce courts if he find out you’re lusting after a man twenty five years younger than you’

‘Oh hilarious Joshua I don’t know how Louie puts up with you she must be an extraordinarily strong willed and determined woman to put up with that sort of deplorable humour’ Edna said dryly ‘I’ll be in touch alright? You Louie and the boys have a safe trip home’

‘Thanks Eddie we will bye’

Josh hung up.

‘You’re doing the tree lighting?’ Louisa asked in surprise massaging his scalp hard.

‘Yeah Eddie conned me into it’ Josh said with a sigh ‘I don’t mind really but it only leaves me three days to rehearse once we get back to New York which means I’m not going to be able to spend any time with you. I had planned on taking you upstate for a couple of days just for some time away for us alone’

‘We can do that after the tree lighting don’t worry’ Louisa said kissing his crown ‘gives me loads of time to go lingerie shopping. I might take Mel my friend from work’

‘Yeah take a friend with you she’s less likely to want to do salacious things to you in the changing rooms’ Josh murmured reaching up and rubbing her hands ‘and if she thinks you look good I’ll most definitely think you’ll look good’

‘J you’d think I’d look good in a bin liner’ Louisa said dryly sitting back down at her laptop.

‘That’s true’ Josh chuckled ‘My new nickname for you will be Bin Bag Babe’

Louisa rolled her eyes.
‘Make yourself useful and go and make u a hot chocolate’ she said in amused exasperation ‘I’ve nearly finished uploading all the pics once that’s done we can go and have a bath together’

Josh lit up like the Vegas stip.
‘Really? He said with a goofy grin ‘promise?’

‘Yes but only if you promise to move your delectable arse into the kitchen and make me a hot chocolate’ Louisa said with a grin ‘will you do that?’

‘Anything for you sweetheart’ Josh said with a cheesy grin giving her a wink.

‘Arse kisser!’

Josh returned several minutes later carrying two mugs of piping hot, hot chocolate.

‘Hmm thanks for that that’s yum’ Louisa said with a sigh ‘you have talented hands they’re not just good at playing the Strad and feeling me up you can cook too’

‘I’m more than just a one trick pony’ Josh said with a chuckle as he trailed his free hand up the inside of het thigh ‘I have several tricks in my repertoire for the most part the ones I’ve used have made you scream my name more than once’

‘Oh I have not screamed I can’t here’ Louisa said dryly ‘once we’re back in New York and the boys goes home it might be a whole ‘nother story though’

‘I don’t know if we’re going to have the time to get up to any mischief’ Josh said making a face ‘as soon as I get back to Manhattan I’m going to have to start rehearsals for the tree lighting probably day and night to make up for lost time’

‘Well it’s your birthday not long after the tree lighting maybe we can celebrate early afterwards’ Louisa said with a grin ‘would you like to come back to Long Island?’

‘Thanks that’d be nice’ Josh said softly brushing her cheek ‘maybe if you’re ready we can go a bit further than we have been'

Louisa lifted up her legs and put them on his lap.
‘You really have no idea how close I am to going all the way with you’ she said ‘but I can’t, not yet. You understand don’t you?’

Josh set down his mug of hot chocolate and leaned forward kissing her on the lips.
‘I do’ he whispered ‘as I’ve said all along no pressure. I can hold myself in you know. And anyway it’s kinda fun all this teasing we’re doing don’t you think?’

Louisa got up and straddled his lap.
‘It is’ she whispered dipping her head to kiss his neck ‘we both manage to make each other come and that’s all we’re after at the moment.

‘Sit on the table’ Josh ordered patting her backside a minute later ‘come on’

Giving him a strange look Louisa got up and sat on the dining table. ‘No chance of some more extra curricular activities?’ Josh asked with a grin tucking himself back into his trousers.

Louisa began packing up her laptop.
‘You’re insatiable’ she said ‘we’ve only just finished some extra curricular activity. I’m exhausted really I am. If you’re a good boy I might if I see fit wake up up tomorrow morning in the same way’

Josh grinned.
‘Sound great’ he said kissing her softly on the cheek

‘Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen this is the first boarding call for United Airlines flight twenty seven from Iniana International Airport to La Guardia in New York. All passengers holding passes for this flight are kindly asked to make their way to gate four in the departure lounge in preparation for our scheduled departure time of twelve thirty PM’

‘Well that’s us Mom we better head off’ Josh said embracing his mother ‘I’ll see you again at Christmastime okay?’

‘Sure thing honey you take care of yourself’ Shirley said hugging her son hard ‘have fun at the tree lighting’

‘Bye Bye Nanna!’ Josef piped up hugging Shirley around her legs ‘I wuv you!’

Shirley scooped Josef up and hugged him.
‘I love you too sweetie’ she said ‘you look after your Dad and Louie won’t you?’

‘Uh huh’

'We'll look aftta Daddy and Louie too!' Ben piped up ad Shirley hugged them goodbye.

'You do that boys I'm counting on you' Shirley said.

Shirley then stood up and embraced Louisa.
‘It was lovely having you in Indiana honey’ she said ‘you’re welcome here anytime, don’t be a stranger’

‘I won’t be I promise’ Louisa said.

Shirley hugged Louisa again.
‘Thankyou for making my Josh happy again honey’ she whispered ‘he’s become a different person with you I haven’t seen him this happy in a long time. It’s wonderful seeing him smile again and I know you are the sole reason for that’

Louisa went bright red.
‘That’s alright’ she mumbled ‘I just enjoy being with him you know?’

‘I know exactly how you feel honey I was there with Josh’s father years ago’ Shirley said rubbing Louisa’s arms ‘I’ll see you again soon huh? You have a great Christmas and New Year won’t you’

‘I will definitely’

‘You two girls finished talking about me then?’ Josh interrupted with a wry smile.

‘Who said we were talking about you honey?’ Shirley said ‘you’re entirely too nosey Joshua Bell’

Louisa let out a great snort of laughter.

‘I’ll be in touch Mom tune in for the tree lighting won’t you?’

‘Wouldn’t miss it honey not get on your plane’

With Josef and the Twins waving madly Josh and Louisa joined the line waiting to board the flight. They had their tickets scanned then walked down the sky bridge and into the aircraft.

‘So what were you and Mom talking about?’ Josh asked as he strapped Josef into his seat.

‘None of your business’ Louisa said with a giggle ‘it was girl talk not suitable for nosey little boy’s ears’

‘Daddy’s nosey!’ Ben giggled.

‘Yeah Benny he is’ Louisa said with a grin sitting down and doing up her seatbelt ‘now I know where you get it from’

‘I’m not nowsey!’

‘Not as much as your Dad anyway’

Two and a half hours later Josh and Louisa’s plane touched down at La Guardia. They collected all their luggage and took a taxi back to Louisa’s house in Long Island.

‘How long can you two stick around?’ Louisa asked throwing open the lounge room curtains and bathing the spacious room in mid afternoon sunshine.

‘As long as you’ll have us’ Josh said ‘But I told Lisa I would have Jo back by seven thirty’

‘Well it won’t take long to drive there you can stay here for a bit’ Louisa said ‘Josef d’you and your brothers want to watch a movie for a bit?’

‘Yeaaaaaah!’

Which one would you like?’

‘Shrek!’

‘Okie dokie I’ll put it on for you and your Dad and I are going to go and sit on the back porch if you need us you know where to go alright?’

‘Uh huh’

Louisa put the first Shrek movie in the DVD player and set Josef, Ben and Sam up. Then when he was engrossed in the film she led Josh out onto the back porch where Louisa lay down her head resting in Josh’s lap and her hair spilling over the armrest.

‘I had loads of fun in Bloomington you know’ Louisa said with a sigh as Josh stroked her hair ‘I’d love to go back sometime’

‘Well you’d be welcome anytime’ Josh said ‘clearly everyone loves you after seeing how happy you make me’

‘I really make you happy?’ Louisa asked softly.

‘Yeah you do, ridiculously so’ Josh said rubbing her belly ‘really you did right from the moment I met you. I’ve been walking around with my head in the clouds and a stupid grin on my face for the last nearly three months’

‘I have noticed the stupid grin’ Louisa said with a giggle reaching up and rubbing his face ‘it’s an extraordinarily attractive expression on you’

‘Glad you think so’

‘So do you want me to meet you at your place Thursday night?’ Louisa asked ‘or come over during the day?’

‘I’ll let you know what time will be the best’ Josh said inhaling the brisk air deeply ‘I’ll probably be in rehearsals all day with only a short break to come home and get ready. I’ll ring you when I’m on my way back to Gramercy Park’

‘I’ll taxi it in so when we come back here you can drive the Porsche’ Louisa said ‘I love that car’

‘I’ll take you upstate sometime then you can open up the throttle on the highway’ Josh said ‘though if you get me a speeding ticket you’re paying for it’

‘Oh gee thanks’ Louisa said rolling her eyes as Josh laughed heartily ‘you arse Joshua Bell you literal pain in the arse’

Three hours later Josh and his sons made to leave.

‘I’ll see you Thursday sometime’ Josh said kissing Louisa by the front door ‘I’ll be in touch alright?’

Louisa squeezed his backside.
‘You better be or I’ll get you behind closed doors and spank your lush arse’ she whispered in his ear.

‘Can you do that anyway?’ Josh asked lacing his fingers through hers.

Louisa kissed him hungrily.
‘Maybe Thursday night after the tree lighting’ she whispered ‘I have some shopping to do in the meantime’

‘Any clues?’

Louisa winked.
‘Nope I want to surprise you’ she whispered ‘now go or I’ll molest you in the hallway’

‘Okay....boys time to go guys!’

Josef came racing down the hallway with his brothers with Mocha bouncing around them.

‘Can we come visit again Loo Boo?’ he puffed.

‘Of course you can kiddo you, your brothers and your Dad are welcome here anytime’ she said crouching down and hugging him ‘I love spending time with you both you’re both very special to me’

‘Especially Daddy?’ Josef said with a grin.

‘Especially you both’ Louisa said ‘now you be good for Mummy and Daddy won’t you? I’ll see you soon’

Josef wrapped his chubby little arms around Louisa’s neck and squeezed with all his might’

‘I wuv you Loo Boo’

‘I love you too sweetie. Have a safe trip home’

‘Okay’

‘I’ll be in touch’ Josh said taking Josef’s hand ‘you look after yourself’

‘Of course, see you soon J’

‘See you soon sweetheart’
