Chapter 12: Damage Control....Again
"We have to tell them." Brandon said. Brittany was holding an ice pack on his cheek.
"What the fuck guys?! Why do I feel we can't leave you all alone for one fucking day?!" Angel looking at Brian. He had a swollen lip, and a black eye. She went up to him and shook her head.
"Are you okay?"
He nodded, "You should see the other guys though! Andy and Ethan were like superheroes and we were like their sidekicks! It was awesome!"
"Okay, babe focus. What happened?"
"It happened so fast. I don't know where to start." Ethan said as Alex took his hand bruised hand.
"Where's Andy? I thought she was in here." Katie said looking around the dining room.
Everyone looked around with confused looks and the back door opened. Andy walked in talking on her phone.
"It's not your fault Megan. Neither Chelsea's. I'm sorry but what your brother did was uncalled for and he just wouldn't stop. He threw the first punch and I was defending myself. Look, I'll think about it, but I can't promise anything. I hope you and Chelsea will still come to the wedding." Andy sighed and nodded listening to what Megan was saying.
"Like I said it's not your fault. Maybe Ross should see someone. This crush he has turned into something that's starting to hurt people. Okay, okay, I'll see you then. Give your mom and dad my best and I hope they're not too mad." She paused again and smiled, but grimaced when she felt some pain.
"I look forward to it. Thank you both for understanding as well as your parents. We'll see you in a few days. Bye." Andy hung up her cell phone and looked at everyone.
"I guess we have a lot to explain."
"Yes you do, now come on your turn. Seems you and Ethan got most of the beating." Dr. Samson said pointing towards one of the chairs. Andy limped towards it and sat down.
"First thing's first left leg, gonna do some range of motions." Dr. Samson said as Andy slowly lifted her left leg.
"Okay start from the beginning." Lynn said sitting next to Andy.
"Guess, I'll start off by ow!" Andy nearly jumped out of her chair.
"Sorry, seems it's the same spot that bothered you months ago. Okay, gonna move it the other way."
"Like I was saying. Where we were is where dad and I go hunting every season. Except this last one since I was on tour. Anyway, we're close with the family and we hunt on their property. I grew up with their kids. Megan, Chelsea, and Ross. Turned out Ross had a huge crush on me and still does. According to Henry, his dad, Ross was really upset when I came out."
"Alright, knee looks pretty good. Just that same spot seems to bother you. How's the pain been since?"
Andy shrugged, "I'll get it mostly when I wear my brace, but it's brief. Or if I have sudden movements. Other than that, nothing too major. But the pain only last about a minute or two."
Dr. Samson nodded and pulled up a chair and started to look over Andy's face, "Continue."
"Anyway, Megan, Chelsea, and Ross met up with us at the bar. Ross was looking out of sorts since he walked in. According to his sisters, he had his life planned out with me. He's also one of those guys that would say that I haven't met the right guy yet. That he was the right guy all along."
"I hate this guy already." Kayla said looking at her brother touching his shoulder.
"Man, if I was there I would have decked him."
"Yeah where were you through all of this?" Wendy asked.
"Oh, I had to get back here actually. Grandpa was driving our dads crazy. So after the zip line, I came back. Just to get Grandpa off their hands. Henry was heading back this way with Opal I guess to check out some hotels. He mentioned he didn't like doing the online thing. Then, Andy called and told me to come here." Addy explained.
Andy chuckled and then let out a small groan, "Yeah, he never got the hang of his computer. Dad and I had to help him sometimes. He's more into the whole 'I have to see it for myself' type of guy."
"We're getting off subject. Andy continue please." Hayley said taking Michael's bruised hand in hers.
"So we're all at the bar, having a good time, playing pool, drinking, catching up. The jukebox was going. We were having fun."
"Then, Ross got a little too handsy with Andy, and that's when David and I stepped in." Ethan said.
A few hours earlier:
"Dude, I don't know if I can do another." Andy said struggling to keep her face straight.
"Oh come on! It's your bachelor party! You gotta get drunk!" Taylor said patting her on the back.
"Actually it's her BACHELORETTE party. She's still a girl ya know." Ross said with a scoff. Andy looked at him and rolled his eyes.
"It's my BACHELOR party Ross. I'm with my best guys! Of course Megan and Chelsea are here too. But I'm just one of the guys!" She said with a slight slur.
"You're still a girl." Ross said under his breath and walked away.
"Seriously what's his deal?" Clint asked looking at Megan and Chelsea.
"Ignore him, he's just jealous he didn't snag Andy here!" Megan said putting her arm around Andy and they laughed.
"She's always been one of the guys. Even growing up I noticed her style changed around fourteen. She was always a tomboy." Chelsea said.
"OH MY GOD! ANDY IT'S OUR SONG COME ON!" Megan said pulling her away from the table and onto the small dance floor.
"Hey, who are those guys with Ross and why do they keep looking over at Andy?" Zac asked the guys and they looked in his direction.
Sure enough Ross was standing with a group of guys. They would look at Andy then back at Ross. Ethan didn't say a word he just put his drink down and went on the dance floor. He didn't dance, but he felt he needed to be there. It wasn't long until the rest of the guys joined. Surrounding Andy like bodyguards.
"Try to keep an eye on him. I really don't like the way he and his friends are looking over here." Alex told Brian. He nodded and passed on the word the other guys.
The next song came on and everyone cheered. It was one of their favorites. They all got lost into the song, they didn't see Ross and his friends come on to the dance floor.
Andy was having fun dancing with Ethan, Megan, and Chelsea. She didn't see Ross come up behind her. He smirked and put his hands on her hips. Andy quickly turned around seeing Ross. She shook her head gently pushed him away and laughed. She turned back around to Megan and Chelsea and began to dance again. At this point Ross came up to her again and put his arm around her waist pulling her close.
"You know I can make you feel so much better than her." He said in her ear. This time she jerked away from him.
"The fuck is your problem Ross?!" She asked and started to storm off the stage. He grabbed her pulled her towards him forcefully.
"Ross! Let her go!" Megan said trying to break his grip from Andy's arms.
"You just never had a REAL man! A man and woman are supposed to be together! Now, let me show you how a REAL man handles a woman!" His face was inches from hers when he was instantly pulled away from her.
Andy saw Ethan and David holding him, "I don't think she wants to dance with you!" David said.
Ross shrugged them off, "She'll run to me. She will."
"Fuck you Ross! I will NEVER fucking run to you! That's NOT how a man would treat a woman!" Andy yelled at him.
"Just give him a chance sweetheart! You should be over your lesbian phase by now." One of the guys said chuckling along with Ross's friends.
"In case you didn't hear it's the twenty first century. Andy's already taken!" Clint told him standing next to Andy.
"Fine, you wanna be one of the guys?! Then be one of the guys!" Ross rushed up to Andy and punched square in the jaw. She stumbled back and before she could recover Ross tackled her to the ground.
Megan and Chelsea were yelling at him to get off of her. Andy's friends were trying to get to her but Ross's friends started to fight them.
Ross had his hands around Andy's neck choking her. She couldn't catch her breath but she remembered what her dad taught her about self defense. Also what she saw in the movies. She had her hands on his face and dug her thumb into one of his eyes. He screamed in pain and let go of her neck.
Andy was able to escape from under him and stood up, "Ross stop this! Stop this now! You don't have to do this!"
"You were supposed to be mine! You were always supposed to be MINE!" Ross got up and rushed up to her.
"Oh, fuck this shit!" She said to herself. She tucked down a bit and used her shoulder and hit him in the gut using her arms to wrap around him she picked him up and slammed him on the table.
"God damn it! Ross Davis stop this!" Yelled the bar owner. Her bouncers were trying to stop the fight but weren't having much luck. "Fuck!" She pulled out her cell phone and called the police.
"Andy!" Ethan yelled running up to her seeing her fall to the ground when Ross kicked her bad knee. She groaned in pain but stopped his knee that was about to go to her face.
She stood up and punched Ross right in the nose. She heard a crunch knowing that she broke it. He let out a painful groan and before she could defend herself he punched her again with more force. She could feel the blood in her mouth and she spit it out.
She blocked his next punch and punched him in his stomach. He bent over and she gave him an uppercut. She felt a pop in her hand and took a quick glance at it. She saw the bruising but she didn't have time to examine it closely when she heard a yell seeing one of Ross's friends rushing up to her with a chair.
She ducked as he swung and the chair broke against the wall. He stood there stunned for a moment and she stood in her defense stance. She heard another yell and saw Ross coming up to her again. Before she could react he had her in a head lock. She again remembered what her dad taught her. She was able to get her foot around and stomped hard on his. He let out a painful yell and let her go.
He stood up and started to laugh, "I'm so enjoying this!" He rushed her again, only this time she dodged him and he ran right into the wall. He turned around and grabbed her by her shirt. He was about to land another punch but all the lights came on and the police were telling everyone to get on the ground.
"This isn't over!" He punched her one more time. The last thing she saw was the police rushing up to Ross and putting handcuffs on him.
Now:
"Next thing I knew I was waking up in an ambulance. Cops came and I told them what had happened. Told them I was defending myself. One of them said everyone was saying the same thing. Ross was getting too handsy with me. I was uncomfortable and he threw the first punch." Andy finished the tale and Dr. Samson was done putting a piece of gauze on the corner of her forehead.
"Are you pressing charges?" Crystal asked.
"I am. Megan and Chelsea were trying to talk me out of it, but I told them that it got out of hand and that Ross needs to get some sort of help. After all these years, you would think he would have given up, but he didn't. I just hope this doesn't change things with his parents." Andy said.
Just then her cell phone started to ring, "Speaking of. Hi Mr. Davis."
"Andrea are you okay? I know you just called, but I wanted to make sure. The girls just told us the FULL story of what happened. I'm so sorry. If there's anything we can do name it."
Andy smiled, "It's not your fault Mr. Davis. I was just protecting myself and my friends were trying to protect me."
"I know, Megan and Chelsea explained everything. I'm also not blaming you for pressing charges. Ross hasn't been himself since you came out and I don't know why. I guess tonight was just icing on the cake for him."
"Thank you Mr. Davis. I just hope this doesn't change my family's relationship with yours."
"No, it doesn't. You and your family will ALWAYS be welcome here. I'm leaving Ross in jail. Opal, the girls, and I decided not to bail him out. He's going to be sitting in there for a while to think about what he did."
"I also hope this doesn't change your relationship with him."
"Oh, it's completely changed! He's a grown man and he acted childish tonight. Again, if there's anything we can do just name it."
"How about you, Mrs. Davis, and the girls come to the big party before the wedding as well as the wedding." She said smiling into her phone.
"Done. Also when this goes to court, we'll be at your side. Have good night Andrea, and again we're so sorry."
"It's alright Mr. Davis. We'll see you in a few days." She hung up her phone and looked around at everyone and she looked at Dr. Samson.
"What's the damage Doc?"
She sighed, "Well Brandon, Clint, Alex, David, Justin, Brian, Zac, and Taylor just have minor bruises and cuts. Michael may have a broken hand. All of you are going to have black eyes for the wedding. Ethan has a few bruised ribs, which I wanna get x-rayed, a sprained shoulder, a small fracture in his left hand. So he might have to get a cast depending on the damage."
Then she looked at Andy, "As for you, sprain shoulder, bruised jaw, I want you to see a dentist. Your nose isn't broken, you will have a massive black eye for the wedding. Bruised ribs luckily it's on the other side, unlike last time. Two dislocated knuckles which I popped back into place. You have some swelling and bruising in your knee. So I want you to see the orthopedic just to make sure there isn't any more damage. From what I can tell nothing's torn. You still have range of motion which is good.
Bruising around your neck. Your voice is hoarse, so I'm thinking there was some sort of damage internally I wanna get a closer look at. The cut on your head is going to need some stitches. So come see me first thing in the morning. Finally a swollen lip which will go down in a couple of days with ice and some ibuprofen."
She stood up and packed up her medical bag, "I gotta say, since I've been your doctor, you have been the most exciting patient I've ever had. Keeping me on my toes. Now I want you all to rest for the next few days. Before I go, I need to check your phone to see if your alarm went off."
Andy nodded and handed over her phone. Dr. Samson looked at it and raised an eyebrow looking at Andy.
"It went off twice. I'm guessing when the fight started, and about ten minutes ago when Lynn sat next to you."
Andy's cheeks went red and everyone just smiled. Dr. Samson gave Andy her phone back and finished packing up her bag.
"Now, you bunch won't be the best looking group at the wedding, but your wounds will heal up in time. Michael, Ethan, and Andy I wanna see you all first thing in the morning. I did all I could here. I can do more at the hospital tomorrow. Take it easy."
Andy tried to stand but Dr. Samson put a hand on her shoulder, "I can show myself out."
"Thank you for everything Doc." She gave her doctor a meaningful smile which Dr. Samson returned.
"Lynn she's in your hands now." She said with a smile and Lynn returned the smile taking Andy's hands in hers.
"Good night everyone."
"Let me at least show you out." Wendy said with a smile and the two walked out of the kitchen.
Melissa came towards the group, "We have a problem."
Before anyone could say anything Serenity rushed in, "Andy! You're all over the internet! What happened?!"
"What's going on?" Hayley said.
"The bar fight went viral. It's in the top ten trending stories right now." Melissa explained.
"I need to make a phone call." Andy said and everyone looked at her confused.
*********************************************************************************
"Is everything set up?" Andy asked walking into the living room.
Ethan nodded, "Yeah for the most part. Are you sure you want to do this?"
Andy nodded, "Gotta do damage control. After watching the video, I need to make a statement. Better do it now before Ross and his friends say it was me coming on to him."
"That's total bullshit. The video caught him hitting you first. You were clearly defending yourself! Same with all of us. Once he punched you that's when Ross's friends leaped."
"I know, I know, but you know how people can turn things around. Especially nowadays. That's why I wanna do a live stream, no breaks, no commercials, I want it to be raw."
Ethan put a hand on her shoulder, "I get it. But do you really need two people here to ask questions?"
Andy nodded, "Yeah, Robin from Equal Magazine, and Maria from Entertainment Music. The one I did the exclusive with. You remember Robin from Georgia. She's been trying to turn things around since. But I also asked for her editor in chief to be here too."
The front door opened they heard muffled talking. They turned around and saw Megan, Chelsea, Mr. and Mrs. Davis walk in. They made a beeline for Andy and they each gave her a hug.
"I can't believe my son did this to your face. I'm so sorry." Mr.s Davis said giving Andy's hand a tight squeeze.
"He knows better than to hurt a woman. Doesn't matter what their preference is. I raised him better than that." Mr. Davis said.
"That night we went through his room and found a lot of weird stuff. I'm not sure what happened. After all of this, I do remember him saying that being gay was wrong, and I shook it off, because we were drinking that night. Andy I'm so sorry. I should have caught it sooner." Chelsea said.
Andy shook her head, "No it's okay. We all thought he was a good person. People change. I guess we didn't really know him at all."
"We also found an engagement ring with your name on it. It was like he was really determined marry you." Megan mentioned.
"This sounds like one of the TV movies you see on that one network." Andy said with a small chuckle.
"Thank you all for being here on such short notice. I just wanted to set the record straight about everything. The video shows a lot of stuff and the comments have been fifty fifty at this point. I'd rather do this now, than wait."
"Least we could do. Like we said what he did was uncalled for and it should not have happened." Mr. Davis said.
Lynn walked in and Andy smiled, "There's someone I want you to meet." She took Lynn's hand and introduced her to the Davis family. They hugged her just as everyone else crammed into the living room.
Robin and Maria were talking with Melissa and Robin's editor in chief. Melissa was going over how she wanted this to play out. Andy told them this was a raw interview and they could ask any questions they wanted, she wouldn't hold back.
She called Cam and Terry so they could help with the set up. Andy wanted all the guys, Lynn, and Ross's family part of this interview so they could put in their input about everything.
After a few minutes of everyone discussing what was going to happen, Melissa said they were ready.
Andy and Lynn took the two seats in the center and everyone took their seats on either side of them. Robin and Maria took the two seats across from them with their papers and they both did some last minute preparations.
"Okay, we're live in five, four, three, two, one." Melissa said and the camera turned to Robin and Maria.
"Hello everyone and thank you for joining us today. I'm Maria with Entertainment Music." She said with a smile at the camera.
"And I'm Robin with Equal Magazine. Today we're doing an on the spot interview with photographer and musician Andrea Hill and her friends."
"Andrea wants to set the record straight about what happened three nights ago in a bar fight. We're coming to you live from her living room. We will also be taking any questions you might have for Andrea and her friends. Again thank you for joining us today." Maria said with a smile and turned to Robin.
"First I wanna say thank you for letting Maria and myself to be part of this." Robin said with a smile.
"Thank you for coming at such short notice and doing this for us." Andy said with a smile.
"I want to first start out by a little history you had with man that confronted you at the bar. I see his family is here as well." Robin said.
"Ross and I grew up together. Every year my father and I would go hunting on his parents' property. I grew close with his sisters as well. Mr. and Mrs. Davis I hold dear to my heart. They were like a second family not only to me but my family too." Andy explained.
"In the video you can hear Ross say 'You're supposed to be mine. You were always supposed to be mine.' What did he mean by that?" Maria asked.
"Ross had a major crush on Andrea growing up. He even had thoughts about marrying her and having a life with her." Chelsea said.
"Then, when she came out, he was hurt, but still determined. He wouldn't give up on her." Mr. Davis said.
"We even tried to set him up with other women that would spark his interest but nothing would come of it. He would say 'They aren't her.' We knew he was referring to Andrea." Megan said.
"It seems this small crush turned into some sort of obsession?" Robin asked and everyone nodded.
"You could say that. His room was covered with pictures of Andrea. As well as articles about her. When he found out she was dating Lynn seriously, he took it really hard. Kept saying she never met the right man. That he was the right man for her. She just needed to give him a chance." Mr. Davis said with a shake of his head.
"Does this change your relationship with your son? Your brother?" Maria asked. The Davis family nodded.
"It has. I taught my son to treat women with respect and to be courteous towards them. Never to hit a woman no matter what. Always try to talk it out with them. No matter how angry he would get." Mrs. Davis said.
"Let's get to what started the fight. Andrea in your own words what happened?" Maria asked.
Andy took a deep breath and Lynn gave her hand a squeeze. Andy turned to her and gave her a small smile, then looked back at the two women.
"Well we were at the local bar and I was with my friends." She started to say indicating the guys sitting next to Lynn.
"We were having a good time. Then, Megan, Chelsea, and I went onto the dance floor because one of our favorite songs was playing. We were dancing and having a good time. My friends joined in not too soon after. We got lost in the music, and he came up behind and put his hands on my hips. At first I thought it was Ethan, because he and I kind of joke around like that.
But when I turned and I saw him smiling at me. I just shook my head and gently pushed him away. I turned back around to dance with his sisters. Then he put his arm around my waist said something in my ear and I got uncomfortable."
"What did he whisper in your ear?" Robin asked.
"That he could make me feel better than she could. That's when I jerked away from him and asked what his problem was. I was about to walk off the dance floor and he grabbed my arms telling me that a man and woman were supposed to be together. That he would show me how a REAL man handles a woman." She looked at Ethan and David.
"At that point David and I stepped him and pulled him away from Andrea." Ethan said.
"What happened after?" Robin asked.
"He then said that if I wanted to be one of the guys, then I'll be one of the guys, and that's when he punched me." Andy explained.
"I've watched the video and I can tell that you were defending yourself. You even told him to stop." Maria said and Andy nodded.
"I said that he didn't have to do this, but he kept going. I did all I could to defend myself. I remembered some self defense moves my dad taught my sister and I as a kid. I never thought it would come in handy one day."
"The bar owner even tried to stop the fight. Even the bouncers were involved trying to stop it." Maria said.
"They were trying to get Ross's friends off of us. Once Ross hit Andrea, his friends started to attack us." Justin said.
"We did notice him and these group of guys at the bar glancing at her every now and then. That's when Ethan went onto the dance floor. Then we followed kind of forming this protective circle around her as well as Megan and Chelsea." Zac explained.
"But I think we all got lost in the music and didn't see him and his friends come onto the dance floor." Michael said.
"Before he hit her, one of his friends did say that she should be over her 'lesbian phase' by now." Brandon said.
"Really? He actually said 'lesbian phase'?" Maria asked.
"He did, which to me was weird. I knew that I was into girls at a really young age, but I never acted on it until I really knew who I was at nineteen. But I didn't officially come out until I was twenty." Andy told them.
"Here's a question from a viewer, they would like to know if you think this was a 'hate crime.' What are your thoughts?" Robin asked.
Andy shrugged, "I wouldn't say that. I would say that he was in this rage because he didn't get what he wanted. I think it was just years of built up passion that turned into something violent. He wanted what he could never have. Like what you said Robin his crush turned into an obsession. It just got out of hand."
"Lynn what are your thoughts on this whole situation?" Maria asked.
"All in all, I'm just glad the police came in when they did. I'm glad Andrea is going to be okay as well as our friends. I don't know what I would have done if he did anything more." Lynn said covering their hands with her other one.
"There's so much violence in this world and for this to happen to someone I love just hurts even more. We've all been through a lot, and we all want peace. Of course it seems wherever we go, something happens. But our relationship had stood through much worse than this. Yet, here we are." She gave them a smile and turned to Andy.
"We're gonna get off subject for a moment. Andrea in our last interview you said you had someone special in your life. Would that someone be the woman sitting right next to you?" Maria asked.
"Yes. Lynn and I have been together for a while and we have plans for our future. Like she said our relationship has been through some rough patches. But we work it out together and we are open with each other. In my past relationships it was hard for me to open up. But with her, she cracked me and now I feel as though we are stronger together." Andy kissed the back of Lynn's hand and looked at her again.
"Classic love story." Robin said with a smile, "Looks like we have another question from a viewer. So this person says that you must have done something to provoke Ross. Maybe it was the way you were dressed or the way you acted around him. What would say to that?"
Andy scoffed and shook her head, "Wow, I had a feeling something like that would come up. I can tell you right now I did nothing to provoke him. I was with my friends having a good time. I don't wear dresses, or anything like that. I was dressed in a pair of jeans, my favorite pair of VANS, and a band t-shirt. So for them to say something like that is kind of what some people would say when a women would come forward about an assault on them. That's complete nonsense, if me dressing in casual clothes provokes a man."
She took in a moment and let out a breath, "As for the way I acted around him, I feel as though I acted as myself. He was the one that walked into the bar looking glum, and standoffish. He was the one that was acting weird around us, where as I was trying to include him in conversations. But he would only make one or two comments."
"Andrea's right. She would try to have him part of the group, but he would keep going back to his friends that showed up." Megan told them.
"For some one to say that Andrea provoked him is down right bullshit. He may be my brother. But that statement just goes to show that women can't seem to dress the way they want to dress. Doesn't matter if they're gay or straight. For all women out there we dress the way we want to dress because we are comfortable and we want to be free to be who we are." Chelsea told them crossing her arms.
"Very well put. I just wanna say for all of you to be here and to be by Andrea's side is amazing and goes to show that she has a great support system. For her to speak out and for you to support her is outstanding. We're getting a lot viewers praising your courage right now." Robin said with a smile.
"Thank you. Thank you all." Andy said with a smile.
"Now, here's another question from a viewer. They would like to know how did Ross become this way and what made him the way he is now." Maria said.
"To be honest we don't know. But that night we went over to his apartment and started to look through everything. He had some books, and articles about things that we didn't know about. When Andrea came out a lot of his views changed. We taught our children that no matter what a person's race is, sexual orientation, or beliefs are to not judge them. That everyone one is a good person. We all have good in our hearts, and to just get to know a person, before you make any judgments. Times are changing and they're always changing." Mr. Davis explained and his family nodded.
"We think after Andrea came out he fell into a group of friends that were a bad influence on him. But we didn't judge him. We did notice a lot of his beliefs changed over the years. We never talked to him about it because we wanted him to come to us first." Mrs. Davis said.
"We live in the now, and we stay positive no matter how bad things get. We always think of positive ways when a horrible situation happens." Megan told them.
"What's the positive in this whole thing for you?" Robin asked.
"That everyone is okay for the most part. Nobody was hurt to the point they had to get taken away in an ambulance. I also want to say thank for the police for getting there so quickly. Who knows what might have happened if they hadn't shown up when they did." Chelsea said.
"Whoa. This is interesting." Robin said looking at her phone, "One of the viewers claiming to be one of Ross's friends is saying that Ross was planning on taking Andrea to the alley to....." Robin couldn't finish the sentence. She looked up at Andy and she could already tell she knew.
"I need a minute. But keep rolling." Andrea said and stood up. She walked out of the room and went into the kitchen. Lynn stood up and followed her.
"Okay, we'll come back to that. So Ethan can you tell us what was going through your mind when this happened."
Ethan cleared his throat and started to explain his side of the story.
Meanwhile in the kitchen Andy was leaning against the counter with her head down. Lynn came up to her and gently touched her back.
"Hey, what's going on?" Lynn asked and Andy turned around.
"Um, this is going to sound weird, but I kind of had this dream or nightmare or something last week."
"It's okay, you can tell me." Lynn gently touched her cheek and Andy looked at her and nodded.
She painfully cleared her throat, "Okay so I remember being in a bar someplace and the guys were there. Um, everything was a little fuzzy. Next thing I knew I was being held down, or held up against a wall or something. It was cold, raining and I saw this figure, and from the deep voice I knew it was a guy."
Lynn gently wiped a tear that escaped Andy's eye as she continued, "I felt naked. I could feel the rain hitting my skin, the cold breeze and his breath on me. Next thing I knew he, um, he, just, he just," Andy couldn't finish and Lynn wrapped her arms around her.
"Hey, hey, shhh, it's okay, he can't hurt you. I'm here, I'm right here. You're safe." She whispered as Andy let out a sob. Lynn just held her close. Andy just needed a break from all this. Just a little break. Lynn had a thought to hopefully help Andy get away for a bit.
Back in the living room the interview continued.
"I have to say, there's this one part in the video where Andrea lifts Ross and slams him the table. Did any of you see that and what was going through your minds? I mean, I know there was a lot going on, but for some one of Andrea's build to lift a guy like that was just wow." Maria said as everyone smiled.
"My first thought was 'Holy shit! Did she really do that'?! That was crazy!" Brian said.
"I don't know if was her defensive instincts or just pure adrenaline but to see her do that kind of boosted my confidence in her." Clint said.
"She's never taken any self defense classes, she learned a lot from her dad growing up. She would tell me when they would play around he would tell her how to get out of a hold or how to get out of a situation. When I saw him having her in a headlock she stomped on his foot and he let go of her. I would have never thought of doing something like that." Ethan explained.
"A lot of viewers are praising Andrea for defending herself and for all of you coming to her defense. Both men and women. We're also getting some negative comments about what happened. One even saying that Andrea should have just taking the beating because women are not to fight back. What do you have to say to that?"
"What I can tell you is that whoever those people are need to come out of the rock they're living in. Women are making so many strides. They're more powerful than they think, and they're voices are finally being heard. There's still road blocks, but they're powering through them. They're leading the way for those that are too scared to have a voice. Don't be afraid to have a voice. Speak up, speak out. They're braver than they know." Brandon said.
Andy and Lynn came walking back into the living holding hands. They took their seats and smiled at everyone.
"I'm sorry about that. I just need to moment to recollect my thoughts." She said and the women waved her off.
"Are you okay?" Robin asked and Andy nodded.
"For the most part. If it's okay with you I would like to go back to that comment."
They both nodded and Andy settled into her chair.
"I had this weird dream about a week ago. I was in a dark alley and there was a figure, a guy. I felt the rain, the cold and I just felt exposed. I felt as though I couldn't break free. I woke up in a cold sweat and couldn't go back to sleep. I didn't think much of it until that comment."
"Would you say you had some sort of premonition about this?" Maria asked.
"I'm not sure what it was. But I did have a sense of deja vu once we got to the bar. But I never put two and two together until now."
"We heard the bar owner is going to be pressing charges against Ross and his friends. What about you?" Maria asked.
Andy looked over at the Davis family and they all nodded.
"I am. At first I didn't want to. But when I came to after his final punch I saw what his friends did to my friends and the damage he caused."
"Mr. and Mrs. Davis how do you feel about Andrea pressing charges?" Robin asked.
"We're all for it. We discussed it as a family and decided not to bail him out. We want him to think about what he had done." Mr. Davis said.
"After the fight, Andrea and I talked. I did try to talk her out of pressing charges, but then after seeing what he had in his room my mind changed." Megan said.
"We don't blame her for wanting to. I would too if I was in her shoes." Chelsea said with a nod.
"He acted out of character and for Andrea to do this would hopefully open his eyes to everything. We stand by her. Most families would stand by their family members but this is something we can't support our son in." Mrs. Davis said her tone making it clear on their decision.
"Did this come as a shock to you all? The way Ross handled the situation?" Robin asked.
"Definitely. Especially the impression he left on my friends for meeting him for the first time. Michael even said he got a bad vibe from him the moment they met." Andy said and Michael nodded.
"What kind of bad vibe did you get?" Maria asked.
Michael shrugged, "It's one of those things when you met someone and give off this weird vibe and you can't figure out why. That's what I felt. Somehow I knew we weren't going to get along right from the start. When I shook his hand I felt this chill down my spine. But I also just wanted to give him a chance and maybe just see if it was just my imagination."
"It's crazy to think you thought you knew someone all your life and then, something changes. Growing up he was kind, and fun. Even after I came out, he was still the same. I guess him getting the news that I'm in love with a woman set it off." Andy explained.
"He was actually putting on a good front for a while. I could tell. Even when Andrea first started dating women. She would ask us advice on somethings and I noticed he would stiffen up, or leave the room. I started to think about that a couple of days go." Chelsea said.
"We're getting some comments off the subject about Andrea and Lynn. A lot of viewers want to know if there's wedding bells in the future. Would you two care to comment?" Maria asked.
Andy and Lynn looked up at Melissa and Serenity they both smiled and nodded. Andy then looked at Lynn as if to ask permission to make the announcement. Before all of this they decided to announce to the world about their marriage and about the wedding.
"We actually do have to make an announcement and I would like Lynn to make it." Andy said giving Lynn's hand a small squeeze.
Lynn smiled and gently kissed Andy's cheek, then looked back at the two women, "Andrea and I have been married for close to a year. She proposed to me and on the same night our PR manager officiated the small ceremony. My parents were there as well as Andrea's. In a few days we're actually having the formal ceremony with our family and friends. We kept it secret because we were scared of what would have happened since Nicole and Vicki."
Both Maria and Robin looked at them in shock. Not knowing what to day. Everyone else was smiling and some even gave out a small chuckle.
"I'm sorry I'm just a little surprised. I knew something was up in our last interview. I saw your ring even asked about it. How did you two manage to keep a secret for so long?" Maria asked.
"Well, we came to an agreement to keep our heads down. For the last year, I was on tours being a photographer for some bands here and there. When an agency picked me up to sign me I knew I wanted to marry Lynn. I didn't want to break up. I wanted us to stay together. When I came to the decision to ask her I was nervous because we weren't even together for a year yet." Andy explained.
"First I wanna say congratulations on getting married. Second, did you keep this a secret from your other family and friends?" Robin said.
"Thank you, and yes we did. We trust our family and friends, but again we just wanted to keep our heads down. We would stay in contact and we even planned the wedding in secret. We just told everyone that didn't know not too long ago." Lynn said.
"Comments are blowing up with most people saying congratulations and wishing you two the best. Someone is asking if this is what triggered Ross's outburst. Would you say it did?" Robin asked.
"Thank you everyone, and yes I think it might have. He did overhear me say that and he stormed out of the bar, that's when Chelsea went after him." Andy said looking at Chelsea and she nodded.
"If you don't us asking, what was your conversation about?" Maria asked.
Chelsea sighed and shook her head, "When I went after him, he was outside on his phone talking to someone. He said he would see them soon and that he could use some back up. I didn't know he was inviting his friends. Anyway, I told him that he shouldn't be so rude and to come back in there and celebrate with Andrea. It was supposed to be a happy day with her. Also that we only see her once a year and we didn't see her last year.
He then went on this rant about how last year he was going to try and be with her and this year was supposed to be their year as a married couple. He was upset that his plan fell through when Andrea didn't come last year. He told me that whoever she was married to wasn't right for her. That he was meant to be with her. I still have no idea where he got that idea. I yelled at him telling him that he should be happy for his friend and to come back inside and congratulate her. After a few minutes he said fine and he would. We walked back in but he stopped me." She took in a deep breath and let it out.
"He told me he would be lying about being happy for her. I kind of berated him saying that she's finally happy with someone and he needs to man up and be happy for her. That his crush should have been long gone by now. He should have gotten over her years ago. He told me that he wouldn't get over her and that's when he walked up to Andrea and finally said he was happy for her. Andrea shook his hand. I mean, I don't blame her. I feel if she would have hugged him then, things would have been set off then. He didn't like that they shook hands. After that exchange his demeanor was just different." She finished explaining.
"During the night he even made a comment that it was Andrea's bachelorette party not bachelor party because she was still a girl." Taylor said.
"Really? Can you go into more detail?" Robin asked.
"We were taking shots and Andrea said she didn't know if she could do anymore. That's when I said it was her bachelor party and she deserved it. Then, he made that comment. Andrea then said she was one of the guys and will always be. After that he walked over to his friends." Taylor explained.
"Andrea any thoughts?" Maria asked.
"I mean, I look like a guy, sometimes I feel like I think like a guy, and I get along better with guys. I do things the 'typical' guy would do. I'm big into sports, I like to hunt, go mudding in my truck, playing catch with my dad and friends. I even shop in the guy section for clothes. It's just who I am. I have guy friends and I have girl friends. But again that's just who I am. I even joke around with guys and even ask them advice on women. But at the end of the day I'm still a woman. Just because my physical appearance is of a guy, I'm still a girl at heart.
Don't get me wrong I get weird looks when I go into the women's bathroom out in public but it doesn't bother me. I know who I am and I wouldn't change anything about it."
"If I may comment on that too?" Megan asked and everyone nodded.
"Andrea was always a tomboy. I noticed her style change around fourteen. Ross noticed it too. He would make comments here and there about how she would look better as a girly girl. Andrea would just laugh him off saying she was more comfortable in guy clothes. I remember them getting into a huge argument about that when she was about seventeen. He demanded she wear girl clothes the next time he saw her. She told him to fuck off. The next year she came back in her normal style. Ross didn't talk to her the entire visit."
"I remember that. I wasn't even hurt, I was angry. I confronted him saying that if he couldn't accept me for who I am, then we couldn't be friends anymore. He then said he didn't want to lose me as a friend. I told him to accept me then. He finally came around, but I knew he didn't like it." Andy said.
"Do you think you could forgive Ross?" Robin asked.
Andy shrugged, "Maybe in time, but for now I can't. Forgiving is hard to do. Maybe one day I will but for now I just can't."
"Davis family what about you?" Maria asked.
"We're with Andrea. Maybe one day, but for now we can't. We consider Andrea as family and he hurt our family. That's really hard to forgive." Mrs. Davis said reaching over and giving Andy's hand a squeeze.
"Time to wrap up guys." Melissa said and they all nodded.
"Before we go, do you any of you have any final thoughts?" Robin asked.
"I just want to say thank you to everyone tuning in today and listening to our side of the story. I just wanted to put this out there before rumors started. I wanted to do the damage control before other media outlets twisted everything. I called both of you because I trust both of you. I appreciate your honesty when it comes to things like this. I also want to thank the Davis family being here. I wanted them to tell their side as well. To my friends for always having my back. To everyone that helped me put this together. Finally to my wife for standing by me through everything. I love you all. Lynn," she said turning to her.
"This rollercoaster keeps getting crazier and I love you even more for sticking by me. Thank you." She leaned in and gave Lynn a soft kiss on the lips and everyone 'awed' at them.
They pulled away and laughed.
"Anyone else?" Maria asked.
"I think Andrea said it all, but I also want to say that I love her courage and strength for coming forward about this. I fell in love with her for so many reasons and this is one of them. Thank you to everyone for their support, also for your questions. Thank you to our friends and family. Thank you again for the Davis family for being here. I hope this cleared a lot of things up. Also, we would like all of you to be part of our wedding. I talked it over with Andrea and we've decided to live stream our wedding which will be on October 8th." Lynn said with a smile.
"Comments are really coming in. People are saying they're excited and thanking you both for letting them be a part of your big day. Some are even saying they can't wait for you two to start a family. Anyone else have any final thoughts?" Robin said.
Mr. Davis cleared his throat, "We want to thank Andrea for letting us come in and explain everything. We know when something like this happens a lot of people lose their connection with someone close to them, but not her. She wanted to make sure our truth was out there."
"Andrea brought us all together over the years. I think I speak for all of us when I say we thank her as well for letting us be a part of this so that way everyone could hear our sides too. Like Lynn said, we hope this clears everything up and hopefully people will see we just want our truth to be out there." Ethan said and everyone nodded.
"Thank you again for having us doing this interview. For all of you that tuned in thank you for joining us. Thank for your questions, and we hope this was eye opening. For me personally it definitely was." Robin said.
"Same with me. Thank you all. From everyone here and to our viewers. You can follow us on our social media for more exclusives we may have. For Entertainment Music, I'm Maria."
"For Equal Magazine, I'm Robin. Thank you for joining us."
"We're wrapped, but keep the stream going." Melissa whispered to Cam and he nodded. Everyone stood up and they all gave Robin and Maria hugs. They all started to get in the midst of conversation. When Melissa said they were going to keep rolling just to get some behind the scenes footage.
Andy offered to get everyone something to eat. Alex commented saying he was starving and they all laughed. She knew exactly where she wanted to go. She let out a sigh and Lynn came up to her wrapping her arms around her waist.
"I'm proud of you."
Andy smiled and wrapped her arm around her shoulders, "For what?"
"Not being afraid to speak out. Being able to put your truth out there."
Andy smiled and gently kissed her forehead, "Thank you for standing by me."
"I wouldn't be anywhere else. After we eat, I have some things to do. I'll meet up with you later tonight." Lynn said with a smile.
Andy nodded, "Okay, just be careful. After this interview, I don't know how much backlash we're going to get."
"I'll bring Ethan, and Clint with me. They'll be my bodyguards." Lynn said with a chuckle and Andy chuckled along with her.
"Sounds good. Let me know if you need anything while you're out and about."
"All I need is for you to bring your sexy ass to me tonight." Lynn said smile leaning in.
"You mean my sexy flat ass." She let out a soft laugh.
"Shut up and kiss me."
"That I can do."
The two leaned in and kissed softly. Once again everything they were worried about just disappeared. All that mattered was that they were okay and even though things seemed down. They knew they would always have each other.

Andy walked into the coffee shop and waved at her parents. Per order of her wife she was to stay out of the house for a few hours because she had a surprise for. Andy didn't question it and called her parents. They were out and about getting last minute things for the party and she asked if they could meet up. They told her to meet them at the coffee shop her mom loves and she would tell them everything.
She walked up to the table and gave her parents each a hug and she sat down. A young man came up to her and asked if she would like anything. She asked for a latte with two extra shots of espresso. He smiled and told her he would be right back.
"Are you sure you need those two shots? I mean your heart." Susan said looking at her daughter.
"I'll be okay. It's been a long few days. The next few are going to be hectic."
"Let me see your hand." Kevin said and she held out her hand that had medical tape on two of her fingers holding them together.
"Dislocations?"
"Two knuckles."
"Here we go." Susan said trying not to roll her eyes.
Kevin let go of her hand and really looked at her, "What did the dentist say about your jaw?"
"Just some swelling, nothing's broken, no loose teeth. Just ice and ibuprofen."
Susan stood up and waved at someone but Kevin and Andy were still talking about her injuries.
"Ribs?"
"Just bruised, none cracked or broken?"
"Stitches?"
"Eight."
"Neck?"
"Bruising on the outside. Slightly bruised vocal cords."
"Knee?"
"Nothing torn, just bruising and swelling. Just ice and more ibuprofen."
"Shoulder?"
"Sprained. Do some range of motions at home. Again ice, ibuprofen."
"Eye?"
"No internal damage. Just a black eye."
"Ross?"
"Found out through Dr. Samson he has the following. Broken nose, three broken ribs, bruised lower back, broken hand, broken foot, broken arm, dislocated shoulder, hairline fracture on his tibia."
Kevin smiled, "That's my girl."
"Andrea!" Andy turned around at the voice and saw Cathy and Tim coming towards them. She smiled and stood up to hug them. They did the same with her parents and they joined them.
"We just got off the phone with Lynn. She told us everything. We even saw the interview and the video. Are you okay?" Cathy asked sitting down next to Susan.
"For the most part. I'll heal in time."
"Dad taught you well huh?" Tim asked with a smile.
"That he did. Never thought all those times we would play around he was teaching me something. Oh I may have half blinded Ross too dad."
"Stick your thumb in his eye?" He asked with an amused smile taking a sip of his coffee. Andy returned the smile and just shrugged. The young man returned with Andy's latte and asked if Cathy and Tim wanted anything. After they put in their order he smiled and told them he would be right back.
"Okay let's get off the subject of the bar fight and focus on the wedding. We noticed you and Lynn didn't register anywhere. Is there a reason?" Cathy asked.
"Wait, we're supposed to do that?"
"Of course! Wedding gifts. Things you're going to need!" Susan said looking at her daughter with a shocked expression.
"But we already have what we need. The house is fully furnished, there's kitchenware, plus the house in Georgia. We have everything. Well I personally think we do. I'm not sure what Lynn thinks. I'll ask her though." Andy told them.
"You do that and give us a call so we can tell everyone what to get you." Susan told her as she took out a pad of paper and pen.
"Everyone has RSVPed. The seating arrangement is done. The food is taken care of. What about the music? Are you going to do a band, or a DJ? Have you two decided on a wedding song yet?" Susan asked looking up at her daughter who looked lost.
"Uhhhhhhh...."
"Oh, look at her she has no idea what's going on. Bless her. Susan, maybe this would be better if we talked to Lynn about this. I mean didn't Andrea give her full control except for the food and colors?" Cathy asked.
"Andrea, you mean to tell me this entire year, you didn't help?"
"Mom, need I remind you I was traveling all over the world the past year. I don't know how to plan a wedding. I just know that I wanted my favorite colors, and to help out with the food. That's it. Everything else was her choice. So whatever Lynn wants she gets." Andy explained.
"Honey, this is your wedding too. It has to have your touch." Kevin said.
"I know dad, and my touch is the colors and the food. Everyone already has their suites and dresses. We have who we want to officiate. We have our bridesmaids, and groomsmen picked out. Our maid of honors and our best mans. Angela and Rhea are our flower girls. Trevor is our ring bearer. We have our photographer. We decided that I won't see her in her wedding dress until she walks down the aisle. I want to truly be surprised." Andy told them and she took a sip of her coffee.
"Andrea!" She heard and turned around in her seat seeing Ethan rushing up to her.
"Hey! What's up?"
"You need to get to the house. Something's happened." He said out of breath.
"Is Lynn okay? What's going on?" She asked standing up.
"Just go!" He said.
"Okay, okay, okay." She pulled out her wallet to pay for her latte.
"Sweetie just go. We got your coffee." Kevin said.
"Okay, I'm sorry. I'll call you guys. Love you." She said as she rushed off.
"Ethan is Lynn okay?" Susan asked and Ethan smiled and sat down in the chair Andy was occupying a few moments ago.
"Yeah, she just has a surprise for Andrea is all. Everything's fine. Lynn wanted to take Andrea's mind off things so she planned out something for her." He said taking a sip of Andy's latte and coughed.
"Holy shit that's strong!"
"Ethan! Language!" Susan said and he gave her an apologetic smile.
*******************************************************************************
Andy put her key into the lock and rushed into the house, "Lynn!" she called out into the dark house. "Lynn! Are you okay?!" She called out again but heard nothing. She went to reach for the light switch but saw a small glow coming from the stairs. She finally got a good look around and saw small candles on the stairs.
She also noticed some rose petals. On her guard still she held her keys out to use as a weapon, just in case. She slowly started to go up the stairs, trying to figure out what was going on.
She reached the landing and there was a note on the rail. Written on it was her name. She took the note and read it out loud, "I know the last few days have been a little stressful. I hope tonight I can take away some of it." Andy smiled and noticed the rose petals and candles led towards the master bedroom.
She walked towards the bedroom and slowly opened the door. She had to catch her breath when she saw the room. Decorated in more rose petals, candles and music softly playing in the background.
She saw the bed had rose petals spelling out her initials as well as Lynn's and the word forever. She also noticed a small black box in the middle.
"May I have this dance?" Andy heard the voice and she smiled. She turned around and saw Lynn looking beautiful in a silver floor length strapless dress. She walked up to Andy and wrapped her arms around her neck.
"You look beautiful." Andy whispered wrapping her arms around her waist. "You did all this?"
Lynn nodded, "I wanted to do something for you. Just so you can have a break from reality."
"It's amazing thank you." She leaned in and kissed Lynn softly on the lips. When they pulled away they rested their foreheads against each other's and started to slowly move to the music.
"There's something else." Lynn whispered. She let go of Andy and reached for the small box on the bed. She took it in her hands and opened it. Inside was a ring at first it look just like a plain wedding band. Then Lynn started to explain.
"I met with your grandfather today. He said he wanted to give you this on your wedding day. But he felt it would be better if I gave it to you. We went to get it resized to fit your finger. He even said that I should engrave it. He said he only wore it a few times. He wanted to keep it in the family." Lynn smiled and Andy gently wiped a tear from her cheek.
"He said since I have your grandmother's ring, he wanted me to give you his ring. He told me that our love reminds him of his and your grandmother's. He said it was supposed to be Jake's when he would get married. But since Jake passed away it was either you or Addy. Whoever would get married first. On the outside I had them engrave those words on the ring you have now, because I know how much they mean to you.
"On the inside, I have the date that night you changed my life. That unforgettable night in Charlotte. Along with words forever and always. At first I told him I didn't want to ruin it, but he told me to make it special for you, since it's yours now. He even said that I was the first girl that you were seeing that got to meet him. Is that true?"
Andy gave out a little chuckle and nodded, "It is. None of my exes ever met my grandparents. You're actually the first to meet most of my family. The others never made past my sister and my parents."
"Why me?"
Andy looked at her and smiled. She raised her hand and gently tucked away a loose strand of Lynn's hair and then touched her cheek, "Because a voice in my head told not to. That they weren't worth introducing the rest of my family to. Then I met you and the voice was gone. I'm gonna be honest with you I was nervous when you met him. But when I saw you two together in Florida talking and laughing, that's when I truly knew I wanted to marry you."
Lynn smiled and sniffled a little, "I can't believe someone like you came into my life. My world turned upside down and you lit up everything in me. You brought me back to life and you did all that by just one look."
"I always thought finding the love of my life was a myth. But then you slapped me." They both let out a light laugh. Then, Andy continued, "That's when I knew. I knew I was in love with you. I knew you were the love of my life. I just knew. You're the light that leads me out of the darkness that surrounds me. This world is so black and white, but then I see you and you're the only one I see in color.
I love you Lyndsey with all that I am, with all my heart. I will love you forever and when forever is gone. You know sometimes I think about that PVRIS song 'St. Patrick' and the line that says, 'I love the way you let me breath instead.' Because you do. You don't crowd me or smother me. You let me be and you let me have my space when I need it. I'm so in love with you, and I fall in love with you every day." Andy finished.
"If we keep going like this, I think we're not going to know what to say at our wedding. But knowing you, you're going to find the words like you always do. I love you Andrea. I want to tell you just how much, but I can't, because no words can describe what I feel for you. Maybe I'll just keep you in suspense until the wedding."
"Oh! Just keep my hanging why don't ya?!" Andy said playfully putting her hands over her heart as if she was hit in the chest. Lynn laughed and shook her head.
"Can I put this ring on you now or do you want to wait?"
Andy smiled and pulled her close, "I think I'll wait. I want my grandpa to be able to see you put it on at our wedding. I feel like it'll be more meaningful for him."
Lynn nodded, "I agree. I'll do the same with your grandmother's ring. I'll keep it off until then and wear the band you put on me at our first wedding." She closed the box and walked over to the night stand and set it down. She rummaged through one of the drawers and found what she was looking for.
She smirked walking over to the bedroom door and closed it. Then, she leaned against it and bit her bottom lip looking at Andy.
"Ohh, I know that look. What are you thinking?" Andy said taking off her hoodie and then sat on the bed.
"Oh, nothing just thought we could have some fun." She said walking up to Andy and then straddle her lap.
"What's behind your back Mrs. Hill?"
Lynn again bit her lip and revealed a pair of handcuffs, "I think it's been long overdue Mrs. Hill."
"I think so too." Andy smiled and grabbed Lynn as she let out a little scream and she was on her back on the bed.
Andy stood up and took off her shirt, "I hope you're ready for a long night. Because we have a lot of making up to do." She said with a smirk and crawled up to Lynn.
She softly kissed Lynn's lips. Tonight was definitely long overdue for the both of them.
