"I can’t wait to see you.
Want to see if you still got that look in your eyes,
That one you had for me before we said our goodbyes."

Shanna raised an eyebrow as her baby sister set a plate of cookies before her on the coffee table, "What did you break?"
"This is my house," Carrie reminded with a laugh. "It's ok if I break something."
"Ok, what do you want then? I know you...you only cook your famous chocolate chip cookies if you either broke something or want something."
"That's not true. Ask Kelly; I cooked them for her before we even started dating."
"And you didn't want anything from her?"
Carrie blushed, "I didn't know that at the time."
Shanna chuckled, taking a cookie.
"Well, I don't want anything. I just wanted to say thanks for coming stay with me. I haven't really spent time by myself since I started hanging out with Kelly, and I wasn't really looking forward to it."
"No problem," Shanna patted her knee as she sat beside her. "I am glad we got to talk the other day. I've missed getting to tease you for all your dorky moments."
Carrie smiled, "I'm glad we got to talk too."
"Ok," Shanna put her cookie down, wiping her hands before turning to the country singer. "What do you want? Just go on and spit it out."
Carrie bit her bottom lip, nervously taking a deep breath, "Ok, so all I have tomorrow is radio interviews in the morning. I don't have anything tomorrow afternoon or the next day and the day after that I don't have anything until the afternoon."
"Ok..."
"Kelly's in Texas."
"Ah..."
"With a private jet we could be there in less than three hours."
Shanna nodded, "And you really want me to come?"
"Well, I don't want to just leave you when you came all the way over here to visit me."
"But you really miss her."
"Yea," Carrie admitted.
Shanna sighed, "Alright."
"Yea?"
"Yea...I figure I owe her an apology anyway."
"I already told her you apologized."
"I know, but I should do it in person."
"Thank you," Carrie threw her arms around her, hugging her tightly. "Thank you so much."
"Can you do me a favor though?" Shanna asked as she pulled back.
"Of course."
"Can y'all try to keep the p.d.a. in front of me to a minimum. I know that maybe a lot to ask, and if that offends you, I'm sorry, but--"
"No, I get it. I totally get it. You said you'd try, and you are by coming with me. The least we could do is meet you half way."
Shanna smiled, "You're a good kid, you know that?"
Carrie shrugged, "So I've heard."

"There's only us,
There's only this,
Forget regret,
Or life is yours to miss."

"Who are we looking for?" Shanna asked as they searched the small Texas airport.
"Kelly's brother," Carrie replied.
"Kelly's not picking us up?"
"She doesn't know we're here. It's a surprise."
"She doesn't know I'm here?" Shanna turned to her. "Is that smart?"
"Looks like we're gonna find out," Carrie shrugged, a smile forming at Jason waving at them.
"Hey," he grinned as she hugged him. "How was the flight?"
"It was good. Thanks for coming pick us up. There's no way I would've found my way back to y'alls house by myself."
"No problem," he assured before turning to her sister, holding out his hand. "You must be Shanna."
"Yes, and you're Kelly's brother?" Shanna shook his hand.
"Jason," he nodded.
"Nice to meet you."
"Is it true that you gave my baby sister a hard time?"
Shanna shifted uncomfortably, taking her hand back.
"Jay..." Carrie fussed gently. "That's done with, ok? I promise she's not going to cause any problems, right?"
"Right," Shanna agreed.
Jason frowned, eyeing her carefully before turning back to the country singer. "So are y'all ready to go? I only told Kelly that I was going pick up some more ice cream, so I don't have long to get back."
"You couldn't have come up with a better lie?" Carrie giggled as he took a bag from each of them, leading the way out of the airport.
"You know I can't think fast on my feet."
"And y'all think I'm the one that shouldn't be allowed to do interviews?"
"It was all Kelly," Jason did his best impersonation of her. "She made me. I was drunk. I'm innocent."
"Shut up," Carrie laughed, pushing him playfully. She noticed her sister tensing out of the corner of her eye. "Just a joke," Carrie promised, wrapping an arm around her as they walked out the door.

Carrie's hand was raised to knock on the open door as she walked into the short Texan's bedroom but opted not to when she noticed her sitting on the floor, facing the wall, small paint brush in hand, bucket of white paint beside her. Carrie titled her head to the side, curiously. She smiled as she walked into the room. "So, basically what you're saying is you lied to me about doing promo and really have been finger painting this entire time?"
Kelly's head turned quickly, her eyes wide, white paint streaks across her face. She jumped up, tossing the brush into the paint can before throwing herself onto the taller girl.
Carrie laughed, catching her and hugging her tightly, "Mmm, I missed you."
"I missed you too," Kelly kissed her neck then her cheek then her lips.
Carrie beamed as she pulled back, "So what in the world are you doing, Picasso?"
Kelly grinned like a little kid as she took Carrie's hand, leading her to the wall. She tugged her down so that she was sitting next to her and handed her a notebook that was scribbled all over.
"What are these?" Carrie flipped through the notebook. "Are these lyrics?"
Kelly nodded, finishing the lyric she was painting on the wall, "You know how sometimes when something happens, you turn on the radio and there's this song that just fits your mood perfectly?"
Carrie nodded.
"It's like that all the time for me...only not the radio, just songs popping into my head that just sum up everything perfectly."
"So you write them down?" Carrie looked down at the notebook.
"Yea, until I get a chance to update."
"Update?"
"Update," Kelly motioned to the walls surrounding them.
Carrie smiled, "So that's what that's what the point of this room is...I've always wondered what the lyrics were for."
"Yep," Kelly nodded.
Carrie turned back to the lyrics that were freshly painted before them, "Tension, oh it's rising. I see you looking at me, and I think I like it...I don't know that song."
Kelly turned to her with a raised eyebrow, "Excuse me?"
"What?"
"Are you saying that you don't even know the lyrics to your own girlfriend's song," she smirked.
"I, uh, um..."
Kelly giggled, giving her a quick kiss, "God, I missed how cute you are. No worries, hun, not many people know that song. I never released it."
"So what's it from?"
"The song's called 'Come Here'."
"No, I meant the moment."
"Oh...let me give you a hint...it happened in this very room."
Carrie furrowed her eyebrows in thought, "Was I here for this?"
"Yep," Kelly nodded.
Carrie chewed on her bottom lip.
"Come on," Kelly smiled, offering her a hand up. "I'll give you another hint."
Carrie allowed the other singer to guide her over to the bed, watching as she sat on the edge of the it, facing her, "What are you doing?"
"Role playing. I'll be you, and you'll be me."
"Ok?"
Kelly looked up, meeting her eye as she smiled mischievously, her fingers dancing along the hem of the taller girl's shirt. She raised it slightly, brushing her lips against the newly exposed skin. She raised the shirt even higher, kissing her way up her smooth stomach, feeling Carrie's hands running through her hair. She kissed her lower abdomen, her lips dancing along the waistband of her jeans before pulling away. "Remember now?"
Carrie nodded, her eyes darkened as she stared down at her.
Kelly grinned, reaching up, and pulling her down on top of her as she laid back.
"So..." Carrie's fingers trailed along her jaw. "How many of these lyrics are from a moment between you and I?"
"Quite a few, actually. I just started doing this not too long before I saw you at the hospital that day."
"That's a lot of moments," Carrie looked up, studying the walls.
"And I'm thankful for everyone of them," Kelly drew her attention back to her. "I've really missed you."
"You too," Carrie nodded, leaning down and kissing her softly. She pulled back, leaving a kiss on her forehead. "I should tell you something though."
"Ok?"
"My sister's here."
"Which one?"
"Shanna."
"Oh..." Kelly titled her head back. "And you left the door open?"
"She's down stairs," Carrie shrugged when Kelly looked back at her. "And she's trying."
"She's ok with being here?"
"Yea. Do you want to go down and say hi?"
"Alright," she took a deep breath.
