My Babies Daddy

Nikki took a deep breath as she sat in a chair in front of a large dressing table mirror, as her mother curled her hair, and pinned it into place on top of her head. Nikki spoke up “Mom, could you please leave a few barrel curls to frame my face?” Karen nodded.

Karen had gotten up earlier and her hair had already been placed in a bun at the back of her head. Her makeup was subtle skin tones and peaches. She was dressed in a lilac coloured three piece suit. It was originally going to be a two piece. But Karen decided to have a matching trousers, waist coat and jacket set.

She paired the suit with a pair of white low heeled strapped shoes. She had a matching hat with white roses on it, waiting in her bedroom, which she would put on before the wedding.

Nikki was currently wearing a black silk dressing gown, with a Chinese floral pattern in gold. Her makeup and nails had already been done. She had chosen a square shaped nail with a French manicure.

Amanda, who was already dressed in her dark lilac silk floor length spaghetti, strapped dress that had beaded embroidery around the chest area, and she was wearing her white heeled shoes. She was doing Nikki makeup, before Starla would do her hair and makeup.

She had blended a light creamy coloured liquid foundation into her face, neck and forehead. That had been followed by a subtle bronze coloured blush, to really bring out her upper cheekbones.

Nikki agreed with Amanda that the subtle amber shadow blended in with a little bronze shadow on her lower lid complimented her brown eyes and skin tone. Her upper lid had been dusted with a nude coloured shadow.

Nikki had chosen a mild brown coloured eye liner for her lids and under her eyes, which had been blended in with a very subtle amber coloured shadow. Her long and naturally curled lashes were made even more pronounced with dark brown mascara.

Amanda and Karen had suggested a light brown lip liner, followed by a slightly darker shade of lipstick to even out the pencil. And finally a clear and shiny vanilla flavoured gloss, to give her lips an even more prefect pout. Nikki agreed and allowed Amanda to do this.

Once Karen had finished pinning up her hair in barrel curls, she carefully pinned the tiara to rest in front of the curls, before she helped Nikki to put in a pair of white diamond stud earrings and put on a golden necklace with a diamond teardrop on it that she was allowing her daughter to borrow for the day.

Next Brittany entered the room. Karen started to place barrel curls in Brittany’s hair, then pinned it on top on her head with pins that had lilac coloured rhinestones of them, which sparkled brightly.

Brittany then placed in a pair of stud earrings that were a purple stone in the shape of a small heart, her golden necklace matched her earrings. They had been a gift from Nikki. Vanessa, Ashley and Amanda would be wearing the same.

Amanda had gone next door, so Starla could do her hair and makeup. Starla like Karen had already been up and dressed three hours ago. She was wearing matching white shoes, and was dressed in a suit the same colour, similar in style, but a knee cap length skirt instead of trousers.

Her hair had been placed in a pleat, and her makeup was in slightly darker tones compared to Karen’s. she would put on a hat identical to Karen’s before the wedding was due to begin.

Vanessa was in the bathroom in the joining room next door. She still had her morning sickness. Ashley knocked on the door before Nikki answered it. She entered Nikki’s room and grimaced. She shook her head and said “Poor Ness, she’s really having hell in the bathroom.”

Nikki cringed sympathetically and asked “Still got her morning sickness then?” Ashley nodded and replied “Yeah she does. I’m going to go and ask if someone can get some camomile tea and some crackers for Vanessa.”

Ashley was already dressed. She was one of the first up and was wearing a dress and shoes that matched what Amanda was already wearing. Her hair had been curled like Brittany’s, but she instead of having it pinned all up, had half pinned up with the same Lilac rhinestone pins, and half down, curling down her back. Her earrings and necklace matched the ones Brittany was wearing.

Nikki told Ashley “Make sure they only give her a small cup full and not a large mug. Too much will have the opposite effect of what you want. At least it did with me. Do that just in case she’s the same. You can never be too careful.” Ashley nodded and left.

An hour and a half later Vanessa was dressed, and her makeup and hair were all done, thanks to Starla. Her hair had been curled and pinned half up and half down, with the same rhinestone pins as the others. She was also wearing the earrings and necklace like the others.

Karen and Starla had just finished helping Nikki into her wedding dress and veil. Just as Amanda entered the room, Nikki was slipping into her shoes, and her mother was buckling them for her, as Nikki at five months pregnant was having hell bending over, especially with her rounded stomach in the way.

Karen then had her daughter lift the long hem of her gown, before rolling an ivory garter, out lined in lilac coloured lace, and paused at her thigh. Nikki then lowered the hem of her gown once more.

Amanda looked lovely with the same style as Brittany. She had just visited the other side of the mansion to see how the men were doing. Zac, Elijah and the others were already dressed. Zac was nervous.

Amanda beamed at Nikki and told her “You look gorgeous, really you do.” She added “Oh by the way, Zac is ready to start keeling over, he is so unbelievably nervous.” The others laughed, while Nikki paled even more.

Karen exclaimed “Don’t tell her that, I’ve only just managed to calm her down, and convinced her Zac does love her and wants to marry her. She’s a bundle of nervous, just like her husband to be is.”

Just as Starla was about to hand out the flowers to everyone, Elijah knocked on the door. Vanessa straightened out her shawl around her shoulders and picked up the small poise of white roses, wrapped in the same material Nikki’s veil was made of. She them opened the door and let Elijah in.

She called out over her shoulder “I’m going to go and see if I can knock some sense into Zac, for Nikki, before he drives the others crazy.” Elijah called back to her, just as she was leaving. “Oh give him a message for me, tell him Elijah said his Mrs’s to be looks hot, seriously hot.”

Vanessa laughed and waved over her shoulder as she walked down the hallway and out of sight. Elijah then turned back to face Nikki and said “Your dad will be heading down in twenty minutes, but first of all there are two guys who arrived last night, and wish to come in and wish you luck.”

He added “By the way you look really beautiful Nikki. Zac is one lucky pretty boy. If I wasn’t so crazy about Amanda then I’d go for you myself.” Amanda joked, as she walked up to her boyfriend “Ha, you better be.” The others laughed.

Amanda told Nikki, "I’ll meet you downstairs before the wedding." Nikki nodded, as Amanda, Ashley and Brittany straightened out their shawls, before grabbing their own posies, and left the room.

Elijah placed a kiss on Nikki’s cheek and told her “I’ll see you downstairs. I’m going to going and shake up that husband of yours to be. We can’t have the pretty boy going off his head now, can we?” Nikki laughed and playfully smacked him on the arm.

Elijah made a mock sound of pain, and playfully clutched his arm, as he turned to leave out of the door, and called out “Oh, you wound me, how could you Nikki.” The three women laughed at him.

Starla went next, and placed a kiss on Nikki’s cheek and said “I’m looking forward to you joining the family for real. I’ll see you downstairs.” Nikki smiled at her and nodded her thanks.

Lastly Karen placed a kiss on her daughter’s cheek and handed her a bouquet of pure blood red roses. She then straightened out the back of her veil one last time and told her. “I’ll see you downstairs sweetheart. I’m just going to go and get my hat ready for the wedding.”

She added before turning to leave “And of course I’ll send your father up in fifteen minutes. The wedding is due to start in less then twenty minutes.” Nikki nodded her thanks and watched her mother leave.

She then turned to face the mirror, and took in her reflection. She was still getting used to seeing the baby bump that was clearly showing, and it was only going to get bigger. She cringed at the thought.

A few moments later came another knock on the door. Nikki called out “Come on in.” She picked up a bottle of perfume, just as the door opened, to reveal John and Christopher. She beamed at the men, who played her on screen parents, as she sprayed some perfume on her neck then her wrist, and rubbed both together.

John and Christopher were eyeing Nikki in awe. There was pride colouring both men’s faces. John slowly walked up to Nikki, who was still standing in front of the mirror, just staring at her reflection. John stopped to stand at her side.

Christopher was standing nearby. He said “Well, look at you, all grownup and about to become somebody’s wife. You’re looking stunning Nikki. And you’re glowing, look at that stomach of yours. How many are in there again?”

Nikki chuckled and replied, whilst placing a hand over her rounded stomach “Twins.” John let out a low whistle and commented “Zac never does anything in halves does he?” All three of them laughed at this.

John placed a kiss on her cheek and asked “You look truly stunning by the way. And answer me this one question. Are you happy, really truly happy?” Nikki beamed and nodded and replied “Oh trust me, I’ve never been happier or more content. I’ll be even more content when I can legally say Zac is mine and mine alone.”

John added “You’re both so still very young. You’re both about to exchange vows and rings, and if I’m correct, in another four months you’re both going to be the parents of not one baby, but two. This is a huge responsibility you two are taking on here. But I have every faith that both of you can do this, and still come out smelling of roses.”

Christopher chuckled and added “I’m with John here, you both are far too stubborn and in love for it not to work. I’m just trying to imagine what it’s going to be like on the set this time around when we film the sequel for Hairspray.”

John chuckled “Exactly. Whose going to be taking care of those babies whilst you two are filming, as you know this shoot is going to last at least six months?” Nikki replied “My mother will be back on set with me, but not to watch me this time, but to care for the twins when I and Zac are not available to do it.”

John smiled “It should be interesting and entertaining having the babies on location with us.” Nikki said “Normally we wouldn’t have, but they’re going to be so young when we start filming. They’ll only be two months old when we start. Zac and I agreed we wouldn’t feel right being without them.”

Nikki laughed and added “Zac is already so protective, and they’re not even born yet or completely developed.” John and Christopher laughed at this. John commented “Christ, can you imagine if one of those twins turns out to be a girl, imagine what he’ll be like when she’s old enough too start dating. I pity the poor boy that tries to date her.”

Christopher joked “He’ll probably be one of those fathers that every boy fears like the plague. And his daughter will be terrified to bring a boy home to meet him and you. You’re going to have your hands full, just trying to stop him from strangling the poor boy.”

Nikki cringed and shook her head and mocked pleaded “Oh god, please stop, I don’t even want to think about it. I’ve got over sixteen years before that starts, even then that won’t be enough time for me to prepare.” John and Christopher laughed again.

Both John and Christopher placed a kiss on her cheek and wished her good luck, and told her they’re be downstairs waiting for the ceremony to start.
