"So, Don't you cry, tonight,
Rest your precious eyes,
Cuz all that you are: this beautiful child,
It's nothing they can change,
It's nothing you can hide,
It's nothing you should hide."

"So let me guess," Ashley smirked at Kelly as she walked into the kitchen. "After having some crazy tofu breakfast, you realized you'd need something of more sustanance for lunch so you came home?"
"I can hear you, you know," Carrie replied as she poured herself a glass of water.
"Sorry Cowgirl, didn't see you."
"I bet," she laughed softly, wincing when Ashley patted her back.
Ashley turned to Kelly who grinned, "Don't tell me...rug burns?"
"More along the lines of tile bruises..." Kelly laughed. "Hard floors don't give as much as carpets. Found that out last night."
"You're kidding," Ashley turned back to Carrie.
Carrie shook her head, pulling up the back of her shirt revealing the marks.
Ashley laughed, "Wow...y'all two are definitely special."
"Don't be jealous just because you're not having crazy hot sex, like us," Carrie fixed her shirt, walking to sit with Kelly at the counter. "I mean, how many times last night?"
Kelly held up her hand, wiggling all five fingers, smiling as Carrie kissed her.
"But hey, I'm sure sitting at home, reading a book and watching television was just as fun," she turned back to Ashley.
Ashley narrowed her eyes.
"Y'all..." Kelly fussed, laughing as she wrapped an arm around Carrie. "Play nice. We have the day off. No rehearsals. No meetings. No lawyers. No press. Let's just have fun, ok?"
"Fine," Ashley sighed.
"That's the spirit," Kelly teased.
Ashley shook her head, unable to hide her smile, "So y'all are gonna have to go pick up Kate because her car's giving trouble, and I'll go to the store and pick up a few things, and we'll meet back here, ok?"
"Ok," Kelly nodded, hopping off of the stool, looking at Carrie. "Hey, can I drive?"
"Sure," Carrie nodded. "You know...I don't think I've ever ridden with you driving before."
"You haven't," Ashley replied. "If you had, you wouldn't still be alive."
"Shut up," Kelly grabbed her keys. "I'm a good driver."
"I'm sure there are about a hundred squirrels up there in squirrel heaven that would beg to differ."
"It's not like I hit them on purpose," Kelly pointed out.
Carrie laughed, kissing her temple, "Come on, speedy. We should get going before PETA comes after your ass."
"Y'all suck," Kelly nodded firmly.

Carrie gripped onto the dashboard with both hands, as she reminded herself to breathe.
"Oh come on, it wasn't that bad," Kelly turned the car off after parking in Kate's driveway.
"You almost ran over that guy on the bike," Carrie pointed out.
"But I didn't."
"You practically jumped that curve."
"Practically."
"You ran two stop signs."
"I didn't notice them," Kelly shrugged. "I was singing."
"Never again," Carrie shook her head, taking the keys from her. "You are never driving us anywhere again."
"Oh come on...it wasn't that bad," Kelly insisted as they got out of the car.
"Elephant on speed," Carrie nodded. "I totally understand what Jason meant now."
Kelly frowned.
"Aw, baby," Carrie wrapped both arms around her at the sad look in her eyes. "I was just joking. You're not that bad...maybe we can look into getting you into a couple classes or something?"
"It's not that," Kelly brought a hand to her cheek as she nodded towards Jill's car that was loaded with boxes.
"She's moving already?" Carrie asked in shock.
"Looks like it."
"Talk about tactless," she shook her head, rubbing Kelly's back as they walked to the door.
Kelly knocked a couple times, smiling as Kate answered, "Hey, you ready to go?"
"Almost...you guys can come in for a sec."
Kelly turned to Carrie.
"It's my house now," Kate reminded. "I can have whomever the heck I want over."
Kelly nodded, following Kate inside as she held onto Carrie's hand tightly. She felt Carrie squeeze her hand as they walked down the hall as Jill was walking out of her room with another box.
Jill turned back, walking back into her room, closing the door loudly.
"Well, that's mature," Carrie frowned, following the other two into Kate's room.
Kate nodded, looking in her closet for a pair of shoes.
"When you said she was moving, I didn't think you meant so soon," Kelly commented, sitting on Kate's bed.
"She said there's no point of her waiting around here," Kate explained. "But whatever, good riddance."
"Kate..."
Kate turned to her with a small smile, "It's ok. No use pouting over things you can't change, right?"
"I'm sorry," she shook her head.
"Don't be. Never be sorry for that," Kate pointed at her and Carrie's hands that were still linked tightly. "Ok?"
"Ok," she nodded, smiling softly as Carrie kissed her cheek.
"Good," Kate nodded as well. "Ok, so I gotta to go the bathroom real quick, and then we need to grab the cookies out of the oven, and then I think we'll be good to go."
"I'll go get the cookies," Kelly offered.
"You sure?"
"Yea," she squeezed Carrie's hand as she stood.
"Kell..." Carrie protested softly.
"I'm sure," she winked at her before dropping her hand as she walked out of the room.
Kelly walked to the kitchen, digging around for an oven mitt before opening the oven and pulling out the chocolate chip cookies with a smile. She stretched up to reach into the top cabinet where she knew the paper plates were, pulling one down.
"Kate, I've got all my stuff I need for now. I'll be back for the rest later...or I might just send somebody," she heard Jill's voice approaching.
Kelly turned, watching as Jill turned the corner into the kitchen.
"Oh...I thought you were Kate..."
"No, I think you're looking for someone a little taller and a lot more patient," Kelly frowned.
Jill nodded, watching as Kelly turned her back to her and started to transfer the cookies from the pan to the paper plate.
"When Kate said you were moving, I didn't think it'd be in one day," Kelly thought out loud.
"No reason for me to hang around here," Jill shrugged.
"Yea, that's what Kate said you told her. Pretty shitty thing just to bail on your best friend like that and leave her with all the bills and stuff."
"I told her I'd pay my half of this month and next month's stuff to give her time to figure out what she wants to do."
"Meaning, you think she's going to change her mind and come back to you?"
Jill frowned, "She's a bit more strong-willed than that...especially with you around, telling her she's making the right decision."
"What does that mean?"
"It means that we both know how much she looks up to you. You're like her heroic big sister or something. She'd do anything that you asked her too. I can't compete with that."
"It's not a competition," Kelly pulled out the foil, wrapping it over the top of the plate.
"Well, either way, as long as you keep telling her that this is ok, she's not going to come to her senses."
Kelly turned to her, "You make it sound like we've brainwashed her or something."
Jill shrugged again.
"You are unbelievable," Kelly shook her head. "Like...I don't even know how to respond to that and be able to keep the ability I have to call myself a Christian."
"How can you to begin with?"
"No," Kelly held up a finger, her eyes turning icy. "No, no, no...don't even go there with me. You forget that I'm declining my right to sue you for breach of contract with your quitting...don't make me change my mind."
Jill crossed her arms.
Kelly shook her head, grabbing the plate of cookies, "You know, it's people like you that make this a world filled with hate."
"If it weren't for people like you, there would be no need for hate," Jill replied as Kelly passed her.
Kelly froze, her jaw clenched, as she called out, "Care..."
Carrie quickly walked out of Kate's room. She took one look at Kelly's face before hurrying to her, "Come on...we'll just go wait in the car. Kate said she's almost done."
Kelly nodded, allowing Carrie to guide her out of the small house.
Carrie opened the passenger door, helping Kelly in before rushing around to the driver's seat, getting in as well, "You want to talk about it?"
Kelly shook her head.
"That bad?" she asked. "Should I go back in there?"
"No," Kelly placed her hand over Carrie's. "It's not worth it, at all."
"But you're really upset."
"Just shocked," she watched as Carrie slid their hands together. "I guess you can't really imagine someone being like that until you've actually seen it with your own eyes."
Carrie nodded, "Well, I'm sorry you had to see it."
"If it wasn't with her, it would be with someone else," she shrugged.
"Yea, but someone else isn't one of your closest friends."
"Thanks for reminding me."
Carrie winced, "Sorry."
"No, I'm sorry," Kelly turned to her. "I'm just aggravated now, because today was supposed to be a very relaxing, fun day, and now she's ruined it."
"You shouldn't let her ruin it. Like Kate said, no use pouting over things you can't change."
"You do realize that Kate didn't go into the bathroom to actually use the bathrom, she went in there so we wouldn't see her cry, right?"
"Yea, I figured that," Carrie sighed.
"But you're right," Kelly kissed her hand. "Once we get back home, no more thinking about this. It's just gonna be us, hanging out with a couple friends, having a nice day, ok?"
"Ok," she agreed as Kate walked out of the house, towards their car.
"All set?" Kelly asked as Kate climbed into the backseat.
"Yea," Kate nodded, watching as Jill brought another box out to her car. "Let's get out of here."
"Should've let you kick her ass," Carrie mumbled under her breath as she pulled out of the driveway.
Kelly smiled, kissing her hand again.

"I guess you don't need it;
I guess you don't want me to repeat it,
But everything I have to give I'll give to you."

"So, have you made plans for your date, yet?" Kelly asked as Kate helped her gather up the snacks.
"I don't know...I'm thinking about cancelling," Kate admitted, grabbing the popcorn out of the microwave. "I'm not really in the mood to go on a date."
"You're not cancelling," Kelly turned to look at her.
"I really just don't feel up to it."
"Because of Jill?" she frowned.
Kate shrugged.
Kelly sighed, "I wish you knew how sorry I am that you're having to go through this."
"You don't have to be sorry."
"Even so, I still hate seeing you like this."
"I feel...I just feel so lost, you know?" she shook her head. "Like, I knew who I was. I was Jill's best friend. I was one half of a singing duo. I was a third of your back up singers..." her voice trailed off as her eyes started to water. She sniffed back the tears, "Now I have no clue who I am, or what I'm supposed to do with my life."
"You're still a singer," Kelly pointed out. "That hasn't changed."
"I'm not a solo artist. My voice isn't made for that."
"You never know until you try."
"And when it doesn't work out?"
"You'll always have a job with me. I mean, I plan on touring until I'm like a hundred, so you don't have to worry about that."
Kate laughed softly, wiping her eyes.
"And hey," Kelly grew stern for a moment. "You are not cancelling that date, got it?"
"Kelly..."
"No," she shook her head. "You're gonna go out with this guy, and you're gonna have a great time, and you're gonna forget about all this mess, even if just for a few hours, ok? It's the least you deserve."
Kate sighed.
"I mean, it."
"Ok," she relented.
Kelly waved her to her, and Kate smiled softly as she bent down, allowing the Texan to kiss her forehead, "You're a great kid, and you should be happy and having the time of your life right now. I'm gonna do everything I can to make sure that happens, ok?"
"Thanks," her smile grew a little.
"Ok, now that we've got that cleared up," Kelly grabbed the plate of cookies and brownies. "Let's go."
"I thought I made more cookies than that," Kate noted, grabbing the two bowls of popcorn.
"You did," Kelly nodded. "I ate some on the drive back. I was a tad bit stressed, and cookies help."
Kate laughed as she followed her back to the living room.

"Ok, ready?" Ashley asked, holding up the timer while she looked over Carrie's shoulder, holding the buzzer in case she said any of the words she shouldn't. "Last round. You guys need five to beat us, and become Taboo champions."
"You ready?" Carrie asked Kelly.
"Yea," Kelly grinned.
"Ok, go," Ashley turned over the timer.
"Ok, um..." Carrie looked at the card. "Ok, so we had sex on this last night. It's the reason why my back's all messed--"
"Tile floor," Kelly replied quickly.
Carrie giggled, going to the next card, "Oh, ok...they're little, mini...vehicles...um...well, it's the second place we had sex."
"Go carts."
"Right," Carrie switched cards. "Ok, we tend to eat this when fueling up to go another round."
"Peanut butter," Kelly nodded.
"Good." Carrie laughed as she saw the next card, "The third place we had sex."
"Swimming pool."
"Yep," she switched to the next card. "Ok, so we were about two seconds from having sex on this after drinking wine."
"A train!" Kelly exclaimed.
"That's five," Kate smiled, trying to stifle a yawn.
Kelly grinned as she lunged forward, wrapping her arms around Carrie, kissing her fully.
Carrie beamed when they broke the kiss, "We rock."
"No, y'all are just really horny," Ashley corrected.
Kelly laughed, "Well, either way, we won, so we get to pick the movie this time."
"Ok, but nothing sappy, alright? I can only handle so much of that stuff, and y'all definitely fill my quota."
Carrie smiled as Kelly kissed her again, "You pick."
"You sure?"
"Yea, go ahead," she nodded as Kelly stood, offering her a hand up. "And we totally call sofa."
"You can't call sofa," Ashley replied.
"Do you want to know what we did on that sofa?"
"You what?" Ashley's eyes grew wide. "That sofa is public property. That is not allowed to happen on the sofa."
Kelly laughed, shaking her head as Carrie stretched out on the couch.
"This is not funny," Ashley insisted as Kelly put a DVD in before walking back to Carrie and laying down with her.
Carrie wrapped her arms around her, kissing her temple, before nodding for Kelly to look at Kate who had already fallen asleep on the recliner. "I was just gonna say I spilled some water on here, earlier...but there you go, jumping to conclusions, Ashley."
"And she calls us horny," Kelly shook her head. "She's the one with the dirty mind."
"Can't blame her, though. I mean, going without sex for so long...it's bound to always be on your mind."
"I have plenty of sex, thank you very much," Ashley replied firmly.
"With other people?" Carrie asked curiously.
Kelly covered her mouth to hide her laughter.
"Kelly..." Ashley's eyes narrowed. "Control your girl."
Kelly bit her bottom lip, to keep a giggle from escaping as she looked at Carrie.
"Shouldn't dish it out if you can't take it," Carrie shrugged innocently.
"What happened to you being all quiet and polite? I miss that," Ashley nodded.
"I'm still polite," Carrie looked at Kelly for help.
"You do say 'please'," Kelly smirked, feeling her heart speed up as she held Carrie's gaze.
Carrie grinned, "My momma taught me well."
"Ok, yea, I'm gonna throw up," Ashley walked to turn off the lights before pressing play on the remote.
"You wanna wake Kate for the movie?" Carrie whispered.
Kelly shook her head, "Let her be. I doubt she's gotten much sleep the past few nights with everything going on."
Carrie nodded, sitting up.
"Where are you going?"
"You want a blanket?"
Kelly nodded, kissing her as she got up, and walked to the decorated chest that held the blankets. She grabbed two, walking to the recliner and placing one gently over Kate before walking back to the sofa and laying down. She wrapped her arms around Kelly pulling her on top of her as she fixed the blanket over them.
Kelly melted at the feeling of Carrie's hand slipping under the back of her shirt, rubbing a soft circle. She kissed her softly, her thumb grazing her cheek, whispering, "I love you, you know that?"
"I know," Carrie nodded, smiling. "I love you too."
Kelly shook her head, "Not the kind of love for people you care about. The different kind of love...I'm in love with you."
Carrie's heart fluttered, "Y-yea?"
"I told you I was gonna love you some day," she smiled softly.
"And I had all the faith in the world in you," Carrie nodded, incapable of describing the feeling that was swelling up inside herself at the thought of Kelly saying it first as anything other than a surge of pride. She leaned up, kissing her sweetly. She closed her eyes tightly at the feeling of tears starting to form.
Kelly's smile grew as she pulled back, "You're so cute when you're emotional."
Carrie laughed softly, running a hand through the Texan's hair, "I'm in love with you too."
"The different kind of love?"
"The most amazing kind of love," she nodded as Kelly brushed the tears off her face.
Kelly beamed, kissing her again.
"Just because the lights are off, doesn't mean you can use it as an excuse to make out," Ashley notified both of them.
Kelly giggled as she broke the kiss, laying down on top of Carrie. She snuggled into her, resting her head on her chest, just under her chin as she watched the opening credits for the movie come on.
Carrie kissed the top of her head, going back to rubbing gentle circles on her back, unable to hold back the huge smile that was tugging at the corner of her lips.
