Chapter Eleven
"Brian, he's gone. Come upstairs with me," Aleera said, putting her arms around her husband from behind.
"He's not gone, he's still out there watching us like the pervert he is," Brian replied.
"So what? He can't see us if we're upstairs with shutters closed."
He looked over his shoulder at his wife, smiling.
"You found the master bedroom, didn't you?" he asked.
"I did," she replied, smiling.
"Do you like it?"
"I do, but I would love it if you where up there with me."
"If you insist I should join you, then I guess I will."
"Oh, I do insist," she said, walking backwards and pulling him with her. "There's a big bed up there, and it'd be awfully lonely if I had to sleep in it alone."
"I can't have that happen," Brian said, turning around and scooping her up into his arms. "I love you, Aleera."
"I love you too, Brian," she said, smiling and putting her arms around his neck.
"Hey, Brian, did I leave my......."
She looked over his shoulder to find Jimmy standing in the door way, staring at them.
"Jimmy, if you don't leave, I'll rip off the reason your parents named you "James"," she said.
"I'm gone," he said, turning around and pulling the door shut, running off towards the woods again.
"We should get upstairs," she whispered.
"Good idea," he replied, walking out of the kitchen.
He quickly made his way down the hallway and across the foyer, easily taking the stairs two at time even while carrying Aleera.
"Brian, what're we going to do up here?" she asked, feigning innocence, as he carried her down the hallway.
“I don’t know,” he replied, carrying her into the bedroom and kicking the door shut. “What should we do?”
“Hmmm, I think I have an idea,” she replied, letting the blanket she’d wrapped around herself fall to the floor when Brian put her down. “What do you think?”
“That sounds like a wonderful idea,” he said, smirking as he moved towards her and the bed.
At The Mansion.......
Zacky and Johnny where cleaning up the broken glass from their balcony doors when they heard loud yelling, followed by a splash come from outside.
“That sounded like Jimmy,” the smaller man said, looking at his husband.
Zacky stood up and stepped out onto the balcony, looking down at the pool.
Jimmy was floating face down in the water, and two dark shapes where stalking around the pool.
Matt came out of the shadows from the direction of the house, saying something Zacky couldn’t hear to the two figures circling the pool.
“I’ll be right back, Johnny,” Zacky said, glancing back at his husband before he hopped the rail and dropped ten feet to the ground.
The two shadows stalking the pool came running at him, until he said,
“Loki, Oden, knock it off.”
The two werewolves stumbled to a stop in front of him, the younger of the two falling over and landing at his feet.
“Matt, what’s going on?” he called, looking at his friend.
“I don’t know, he probably got shit faced again and freaked out,” the bigger man replied.
“Should we get him out of there or let him soak for awhile?’
“I’ll get him,” Matt said, taking his shirt off and jumping into the pool.
“What happened guys?” Zacky asked, at the two men.
“We thought Master Plague was an intruder,” Oden, the bigger of the two, said, helping the younger man stand up.
“When we gave warning, he only ran,” Loki said, watching Matt fish Jimmy from the middle of the pool.
“So Jimmy took off running when you guys gave him a warning instead of telling you who he was?”
The two nodded. “Weird.”
“Zacky, come and help me get this idiot,” Matt called.
“Just a second, Matt,” he called back, then he looked at the werewolves again. “You two can go back to work.”
“Thank you, Master,” they said before they turned and disappeared back into the shadows.
“Dude, come and help me,” Matt called again. “Or I’m going to leave him here.”
Sighing, Zacky walked over to the pool where Matt was waiting at the edge with Jimmy.
“You push, I’ll pull,” he said, reaching down and grabbing Jimmy under his arms.
“Ready?” Matt asked.
“Yeah,” he replied, “let’s get him outta there.”
Matt put his arms around Jimmy’s legs and lifted him out of the water while Zacky pulled him up onto the concrete patio, laying him out on his back.
“Okay, Jimmy, wake up,” he said, prodding Jimmy with his foot as Matt climbed out of the pool. “C’mon, Jimmy, rise and shine.”
Jimmy’s head lolled to one side, but he didn’t move. “James, get up. You’re not being funny.”
Matt approached the two, concern very evident on his face as he watched Zacky kneel down by their friend and pat his face. “Jimmy, Jimmy, get up.”
Jimmy sat up suddenly, his eyes wide, and vomited on Zacky before falling over again.
Matt caught him before his head hit the concrete.
“He puked on me,” Zacky said, looking at the foamy red-tinged bile covering his chest and arms.
“It’ll wash off,” Matt said, glancing at Zacky before he looked at Jimmy again and noticing he was paler then normal. “There’s something wrong with him.”
“Let’s get him inside,” Zacky said, standing up.
Matt nodded in agreement, and between the two of them they got Jimmy to his feet and dragged him to the doors which stood open leading into the house.
Johnny?, Zacky thought.
“Is Jimmy okay, Zacky?” Johnny asked.
No, there’s something wrong with him. Call Dr. Atherton and tell him it’s an emergency.
“I’m on it, baby.”
Thank you, Johnny, Zacky thought as he and Matt carried Jimmy down the hall toward the foyer.
“Matt, what’s going on? What’s wrong with Jimmy?” Val asked when she saw her husband and Zacky dragging a limp Jimmy between them.
“He’s sick,” he replied, and as if to prove he wasn’t faking it, Jimmy threw up again, the foamy red bile hitting the black marble with a sick sounding splat.
“Don’t worry about it,” she said when she saw the look on Matt’s face. “Put him into the family room.”
Zacky and Matt did as they where told, carrying Jimmy into the lounge only used by the family and put him onto the couch sitting against the wall.
“Zacky?” Johnny called.
Yeah, baby?
“Dr. Atherton is on his way,” Johnny replied. “I’m gonna go and wait for him. Where are you guys?”
The family room, Zacky replied.
“Which one? There’s like six family rooms.”
You know what, I’ll come and wait with you. Meet me at the front door.
“Okay,” Johnny said, then as soon as his presence had appeared in Zacky’s mind, he was gone.
“Dr. Atherton is on his way,” Zacky said, noticing that Matt and Val where staring at him. “I’m gonna go and wait for him with Johnny.”
Matt only nodded.
“Shouldn’t we call Brian and Aleera?” Val asked.
“Good idea,” Zacky said. “if Daisee and Marie where there first, and Aleera sent them over here, he probably started out there looking for them.”
“I’ll call’em,” Matt said, looking at Zacky. “You go and wait for the doctor.”
The smaller man nodded, leaving the room. “Keep an eye on him, Val.”
She only nodded, stroking Jimmy’s hair when he groaned and tried to curl up into a ball. Matt took a final look at his ailing friend before he left the room to make his phone call.
