Kaoru was sitting on the cold floor while Kyo was being raped again and again by Die’s soldiers. “I realised right away…” – flashbacks invaded Kaoru’s mind: every spell he cast as favours, Saeko and Die… he continued – “Right away… but I couldn’t go back!... What have I done?” – Kaoru sat on his bed, lowered his head and begun to sob.
Toshiya went to sit next to him and patted him on his back:
“Kaoru, you came to your senses just in time… Eight years ago, I became terrified by what we were doing and… I left the circle.” – Toshiya wasn’t sure if he should tell this, but, when he saw Kaoru listening carefully, he sighed and continued – “It was right after that. Ando Daisuke, known as Die… was the guy who was supposed to serve as our sacrifice.” – Kaoru shook and gasped when he heard that, but he continued to listen – “Just before his death, he made a deal with the devil. That deal, the life he was given by the devil is about to come to an end so Die plans to take Kyo’s body and defy the devil.”
“Impossible! How?!” – Kaoru couldn’t believe in all this.
“He knows how.” – Toshiya answered.
Kaoru then remembered Die’s last words, before throwing him out of the apartment:
“Tomorrow… that’s what he said… tomorrow night, if I get in his way, he’ll kill me.”
“I see… he will perform the ritual on the Night of Walpurgis just like eight years ago… but, Kaoru, we are still able to stop this!” – Toshiya said, offering a simple smile.
“Eh? What are you saying?” – Kaoru asked surprised.
“But we need time…” – Toshiya’s smile disappeared to be replaced by an expression of agony.
“Professor Toshiya, what’s the matter?” – Kaoru asked worried.
“This won’t stop. They gave me a large amount of those pills… I thought I was used to this, but…” – another wave of desire ran through Toshiya’s body and he embraced himself, shaking.
