As the credits finally showed up on the screen, Jonathan pressed the stop-button on the remote and Gary quickly wiped his eyes not wanting to show the other guys that the final part had made him quit emotional. When the lights went back on in the room, he saw Mark blinking tears away too and they sheepishly grinned at each other.
“Nicely done, Jon.” Howard stood up, reaching for another beer and slapped Jonathan on the back.
Mark and Gary nodded in agreement.
Jason looked round the room and suddenly felt overcome with a home coming feeling. It was nicely done. They had just seen the documentary as it would be shown on TV in two weeks, and more importantly, tomorrow night during the premiere. Jason had been worried that the documentary would be too much of everything, too much hysteria, too many lies and too many sob stories. He was pleased with the outcome, even though seeing again how Robbie didn’t show on that final night was hard. It had been a magical night that night, things that had been lying under the rug for far too long had been talked out and they genuinely had a great night with each other. Had he wondered a couple of years ago if these guys had been just colleagues, that night he was assured that these men were his friends. They knew him very well and it was nice to fall back into the warm hug that was Take That. Tomorrow night, in front of everybody who meant something in the pop world, they would make their first appearance since 1996, as Take That. And Jason was nervous as hell.
Charlotte was nervous as hell too, she was making her first public appearance with her soon to be famous again boyfriend in front of thousands of people. She had been running around all day like a mad woman preparing for her wedding. She had gone on a quest for the perfect dress. It had taken some shopping sprees from hell, she had taken Jason to go shop with her for a dress at first, but as he had bought his suit in the first store they entered not even bothering to try it on but just giving his sizes and pointing what colour he thought looked “alright”, she knew he wasn’t going to be any help. A million dresses, two tantrums and one nervous break down later she had phoned Dawn and asked what she was going to wear. Dawn was in the middle of her second nervous break down, as she had not taken her man out to find her the perfect dress, but her children. They decided to meet a day later, Daniel and Emily with their grand parents and their credit cards on stand by in their pockets. In the end, they both settled for Chanel dresses. Ridiculously expensive, but they looked stunning. Dawn had bought a black, tight overknee dress with massive cleavage that made her perfectly trained body look even better. Charlotte nearly found it unbelievable that she had given birth to two children and looked like that. Charlotte had settled for a shocking red satin dress. The dark colour of her hair was a perfect match with the red, the front of the dress seemed decent and the high collar gave it a serene, virgin like appearance, but it was the back of the dress that did the trick. The cleavage was made in the back of the dress and it went down to just a few inches above her bum. She had thought it was too provocative but Dawn had convinced her she looked stunning. When she had put it on for Jason when she’d come home and twirled in front of him feeling like a princess, she saw by the look in his eyes that the dress was a hit.
She was now in front of the TV, sipping from a glass of wine and trying not to think of all possible things that could go wrong tomorrow.

Robbie looked at Julia who was sleeping on his sofa. Again. He and Julia had gotten closer and closer over the last year, a week after the Howard incident at Gary’s house, she had phoned him and said she missed her friend. Robbie, afraid to tell her he was feeling much more than just friendly feelings, had said nothing but welcomed her back with open arms. He’d much rather have her with him, even if she wasn’t feeling the same thing for him than not have her in his life at all. She visited him regularly even on tour, he had put her on the list as his legal advisor and so nobody asked strange questions when she was there. He was amazed that no paparazzi had ever tried to make a link between them, normally every woman he winked at was in the papers the next day.
Robbie covered Julia with a blanket and gently kissed her forehead before he went upstairs and lay in his own bed, contemplating whether or not to go to the premiere of the documentary tomorrow night and wishing it was Julia who kept the cold side of his bed warm.

Charlotte slipped the dress over her head and was pleased with her image in the mirror. Jason entered the bathroom, buttoning up his white shirt.
“Wow,” he said looking at Charlotte who nervously pushed her hair behind her ears.
“Do I look alright?” she asked him
“Alright? Love, that is thé understatement of the year.” He stood behind her and looked at her via the mirror, slowly letting his hands glide over the soft fabric of her dress and stopping at her hips. He lowered his head and placed a kiss in her neck.
“Oh no,” Charlotte protested. “Not now, I’ve still gotta do my make-up and hair and we should be leaving in an hour”.
“Oh come on,” Jason pleaded, nibbling at her ear and his hands finding her bare back. Charlotte turned round and pulled him towards her for a kiss. As he pushed her against the sink, she knew a kiss wasn’t going to be enough.

Robbie and Julia were ushered in via the back entrance. When Robbie had announced that morning that he was planning on going to the premiere of the documentary, Julia had offered to come along. She thought it was really important for him to be going and made it seem as if that was why she was coming along. In reality she wanted to find out whether seeing Howard would make her weak to the knees again. Since a few weeks she’d noticed that Robbie was treating her completely different, he was avoiding physical contact with her while they’d always been very cuddly. Maybe he thought she was falling in love with him and didn’t want to get her hopes up? She’d thought it ridiculous, she in love with Robbie. But since a few days, thinking about the possibility had made her curious. Yes, she still felt something for Howard, but she was also sure that he was in the past. She needed to move on, and Robbie had been there for her all the way. He was friendly, made her laugh and was good looking. He was also very different than Howard.
As they were seated at the back of the Coronet Theatre, Robbie gently squeezed her hand as they sat down and Julia felt her stomach tingle.

Dawn, Charlotte and Emma were already at the theatre. The girls had been in touch several times now and especially Dawn and Charlotte got along fine. Charlotte was by far the most nervous out of them three, Emma being an actress had done these sort of things often and Dawn as a dancer had been to her share of parties and premieres. When they’d arrived outside, Emma was immediately recognised by a photographer and was asked to pose for a picture. Charlotte looked at the girls that were obviously waiting for Take That to arrive as they were all looking around nervously and checking their cameras. None of them looked hysterical and a girl with long blonde hair waved at Dawn.
“How’s Gary?” she shouted.
Dawn smiled and gave her the thumbs up.
Charlotte was amazed with the relaxed reactions of both women and was nearly peeing her pants because she was sure she’d fall over on the red carpet before getting inside.
They went inside where they were received with champagne and finger food. Charlotte ate nor drank because she was scared to ruin her dress. Ten minutes later, they were escorted to their seats at the front row in the theatre, waiting for the boys to arrive.

“Shall we just go to the pub and give it a miss?” Mark broke the nervous silence in the limo that was now two blocks away from the theatre. They all laughed nervously, but Jason was seriously considering taking Mark up on that offer.
“D’you reckon there are actually people out there?” Gary asked, for the first time expressing his worst nightmare.
“Of course,” Howard said, rubbing his sweaty hands on his pants for what seemed like the fiftieth time. “Our parents will be there at least,” he added and they all cracked up again.
Silence returned as the limo pulled into the street of the theatre, the sounds outside were drowned out by the thick glass of the car but approaching their destination now, they all saw the pack of girls that were standing at the entrance of the theatre. Behind the girls were photographers and on the red carpet were two camera crews.
The doors opened, cheery screams rose from the girls, not the shouting they’d gotten ten years ago but still, an impressive welcome. Flashes were all around them and microphones were already shoved inside the limo.
Gary swallowed.
Howard rubbed his hands on his pants one last time.
Mark checked the presence of cigarettes in his back pocket again.
Jason licked his lips.
A huge dark figure appeared in front of the microphone, pushing the photographers to the side and keeping the door opened as he peered inside.
“Let’s go guys, and by the way, nice to see you again.” James grinned inside the limo.

Dawn grabbed Gary’s hand when she heard his confession about wanting Robbie’s career. She snorted when the crazed fan told the audience about telling her little boy that Gary was his daddy and Gary nearly had to leave the room because he was in such a fit of giggle because Dawn had muttered “Obsessed cow,” when she came on.
Charlotte cringed when she heard the crowd roar with laughter to Jason’s sad attempt at denying he had sex with Lulu. She was in shock upon hearing Howard’s suicide thoughts and her heart melted when she saw Gary at the piano with his two kids. Most of all she was shocked by the images of mass hysteria from the fans and she rubbed Jason’s eye when she saw one of the fans onscreen poking her fingers in his eyes as Jason pouted he could still feel it.
Robbie felt himself sink lower in his chair when he heard his own voice say that Nigel was one of the most disturbed individuals he’d ever worked with. Why did he have to say that so boldly when camera’s were aimed at him? Why did he still work in a little nasty undertone about Gary? Sometimes he didn’t even understand himself.
All Mark could think about was the gorgeous girl sitting next to him. He was so proud to be finally able to show off Emma to the world. He was madly in love with her, and as he felt her hand searching his he sighed deeply, completely happy.
Howard was convinced he’d seen her. He was absolutely sure it was Julia he’d seen sitting at the back of the theatre, hiding behind huge sunglasses and sunken low in her chair. She was with Robbie, again. He’d have to talk to her.
Julia felt her throat tighten as she saw Robbie’s eyes tear up on the big screen. Telling the world how he’d give up all of his success to have the happy family home Gary had. She glanced sideways and saw him chewing his finger nails. She felt her hand glide to his knee and gently squeezed it, showing him she cared. His hand grabbed hers and their fingers intertwined. For a moment, she felt blissfully happy.

“James, mate how are you?” Finally the screening of the documentary was over, and right now Take That stood glowing with pride in the foyer of the theatre, shaking hands and raising glasses with old friends and fans. Mark had finally found James again, Jonathan had looked up a lot of old friends that used to work for or with Take That, and James was definitely one that they all wanted to see again.
“I’m fine Markie, alive and kicking mate! Why don’t you introduce me to the missus? Nice catch!” he winked as Mark pushed Emma forward proudly and introduced her to James.
Gary was talking to a group of girls that were invited as special guests, they had been major fans ten years ago and enthusiastically they were telling him old stories of their concert experiences and feelings about the break-up. Gary swelled with pride as the girls told him that he looked better than ever.
Howard and Jason had joined Mark and James and were gleefully digging up memories about crazy situations they’d been in.
“…and do you remember?” James hiccoughed with laugher, “that gig where Howard fell down the stairs backstage in Germany? The loudest crashing sound and then his roaring laugher!” He pointed at Gary who looked innocently over at them not understanding the laughter.
“Who wouldn’t remember Barlow’s dirty laugh?!” Someone said from behind them and they all turned their heads in unison to see who said it.
“Oh my Lord,” Jason began, already laughing his head off. “Raymond Cokes, I can’t believe you made it!” They slapped each other on the back in an old friend style hug. As if rehearsed Mark and Howard both started singing “All we watched each night was Ray” and James got them all some more champagne.
Charlotte and Dawn were over at the buffet. Charlotte was starving by now and was carefully nibbling from the delicious fish cakes but avoiding all sauces because of dripping hazard. Jonathan was balancing three glasses of white wine towards them and they thankfully accepted them from him.
“Cheers,” Dawn toasted.
Jonathan looked at the lads who were now all together laughing out loud at Gary’s so-called dirty laugh which he produced immediately when asked.
“I think you should know,” Jonathan started quickly gulping down some wine as if gaining some more confidence, “that tonight I will offer Take That a chance to do a come back tour.”
Charlotte’s mouth fell open in surprise.
Dawn looked at her husband, roaring with laughter and his face baring the happiest smile she’d seen ever since Emily’s birth.
“I think that is a great idea,” she finally said softly.
“I had no idea,” Julia was rubbing Robbie’s back, the two of them were still seated in the theatre.
“I love my job but at the same time, I hate it. Why can’t I have a normal life too? With a lovely wife and kiddies. I always screw up.” Robbie sniffed.
“You don’t always screw up Rob, and you will have a lovely wife and kiddies one day.”
“Yeah? Well, sometimes that’s hard to believe. Did you see how happy he was? I want that.”
“I’m very proud of you for doing this tonight. I know it wasn’t easy to be confronted with this footage. Believe me, you will be as happy as Gary is too, maybe even happier!” she added laughing.
“You are too kind Jules, you’re the best.” He looked at her and longed to kiss her more than ever.
“Jules, I erm..” he fiddled with his shirt.
“What?”
“Let’s get our car and go home, I don’t feel like acting all reminiscent.”
Julia stood up and Robbie wanted to kick himself for his lack of guts.
“Allow me to introduce these fine ladies,” Gary was already slurring his words but Dawn didn’t care, it had been a while since they had been to a proper party and tonight, she was having a blast.
“This is Emma, Mark’s latest love interest,” he winked at Emma who shook the man’s hand that was now facing her.
“And this lovely lady here, is Charlotte. She is already living with Jay so don’t try anything funny.” Charlotte locked her eyes quickly with Jason’s who winked at her.
“Aha, and this,” the man took Dawn’s hands, “Is our Dawnie, lovely to see you again Dawn.” He kissed her on both cheeks as Dawn explained to Charlotte: “This is Mike Stephens, former musical director of the guys during their tours.”
“Nice to meet you,” Charlotte nodded.
“So, when are the first rehearsals for that awesome reunion tour of yours?” Mike mockingly asked, not having the slightest idea of what Jonathan was about to propose them in a few hours. Charlotte and Dawn exchanged knowing looks.
“I thought they were now?” Mark laughed, and he did a dance that looked remarkably like the Sure dance.
“Oh my God, I can’t believe you remember that!” Howard roared.
“Wait for it, I even remember this,” and Gary sunk to his knees, raised his hand above his head, folding his hands together and brought his arms forward.
The whole crowd was now looking red from either laughter, or in Dawn’s case, slight embarrassment.
“Bloody hell,” Jason said “Gaz honestly, we couldn’t charge people to watch you fuck up the Pray routine!”
“Well, we could start practising if we wanted,” Howard said, while looking at a familiar face that was approaching them now, “our guitarist has arrived!”.
A man with a huge grin, long hair and two glasses of champagne in his hands was welcomed into the group.
“Thumbs up for the bubbly,” he said, handing one glass to Mike.
“Leave it to Milton to check out the alcohol facilities,” Mark bellowed.
Take That seemed back for good.

Julia looked at Robbie who shyly walked out of the theatre, his shoulders pulled up high as if hiding behind them. Photographers and other journalists present, started whispering immediately upon spotting Robbie in the crowd. Robbie ignored the more cheeky ones who started asking questions straight away.
“Why didn’t you show up Robbie?” one man with a microphone asked.
Robbie smiled his cheeky grin, said nothing but turned around in dismay.
“I need a drink,” he said through gritted teeth, more to himself than to Julia but she heard him anyway.
“Ignore them, let’s go,” Julia answered softly tugging on his arm.
Robbie stood dead in his track.
Julia turned around too, and there she saw the whole gang. Gary, Mark, Jason, Howard, Dawn, Emma, Charlotte, Mike and Milton, they all looked at Robbie. He said nothing and just stood there, his eyes to the ground.
Howard searched for Julia’s gaze but Julia had made eye contact with Charlotte and all of a sudden felt emotional, she knew her friend had been living with Jason for a while now and they always been so close but their contact had faded over the years, she saw the same look in Charlotte eyes.
Charlotte made the first move, “I’m so happy to see you Jules,” she said as she hugged her friend and felt a sigh of relieve from Julia.
“I missed you Charlie,” Julia said.
“I missed you too,” Charlotte handed her a glass of wine, “Drink?”
“I dunno, Rob and I were just about to leave.”
Robbie wanted to bite his fingernails when he saw who was coming up to him and grabbed him by his shoulders.
“Rob, let’s forgive and forget, I am truly sorry if ever I was miserable git. Which I probably was at some point. It was just…you know.” Gary stammered as he knew that everybody in the foyer was now watching this display; finally the confrontation. Gary versus Robbie, who’d win?
Robbie looked up, “I understand mate, I am sorry too. I’ve said things…it was all…”
“Don’t worry about it, it’s all in the past.”
They looked at each other for a short moment and when Gary held out his hand for Rob to shake, Robbie took it and pulled Gary into a hug.
“I guess we can do one drink,” Julia smiled and Charlotte gave her the glass of wine.
Robbie’s heart was beating wild as all of them now shook hands and they all started chattering nervously. His brain screamed for alcohol but he ignored the addictive reaction of his body and clutched his glass of Tonic. Just Tonic. He felt the sweat trickle down his back and opened up the top button of his shirt.
Mark saw his former best friend struggle with himself, noticed his nervous fiddling and felt sorry. He pulled him to the side, passed him a cigarette and jerked his head towards the back exit.
“Go on, we’ll have a smoke outside,” Robbie gladly obliged and followed Mark outside.
Julia saw Rob go outside with Mark and decided to do a quick loo visit. She left her glass at Charlotte and Dawn’s and disappeared in the ladies room.
“How’ve you been?” Mark asked, what he meant to ask was if Rob was still doing drugs and alcohol but he was afraid to ask, scared to interfere too much with his privacy.
“Alright mate, I’m alright.” He raised his glass of Tonic to Mark, understanding perfectly well what Mark meant.
“I’m glad you decided to come tonight,” Mark said.
“Yeah, you know what…So am I!” Robbie answered, and he meant it.
Julia washed her hands above the little sink in the toilets and checked her make-up. She applied a little extra lip gloss and some more perfume. Combing her fingers through her hair, she opened the door to re-enter the foyer.
As she didn’t expect a person to be standing outside the door his both hands on the door sill blocking her way, she stumbled and fell into his arms.
“Jesus, what the hell are you doing here?” Julia talked before she looked and when she finally did look, the piercing eyes of Howard were upon her face.
She wanted to speak again but swallowed her words.
“I need to talk to you,” Howard said calmly.
“Talk? Or are you planning on kissing me again?”
“Would you hold it against me if I did?” he asked cheekily.
Julia didn’t even know the answer to that question and looked at him, awaiting his questions.
“I’m sorry,” he sighed, “I’m sorry I cornered you last time but I have to know…”
“Howard, please,” Julia rolled her eyes.
“Please, let me finish!” He interrupted her. “I want to know, but if you don’t want to talk about it than I shall have to accept that. And I will.”
Julia saw Robbie getting back inside over his shoulder. Howard saw her looking.
“Still your `friend´ then ay?” he asked.
“Yes, he is very important to me.”
Howard felt her remark like a stab in the back, he wanted to be important to her too.
“He is crazy about you,” Howard said. Maybe he said it out loud so it would sink into his own brain, so he could accept that as well.
But his comment also sank into Julia’s brain, and all of a sudden she made up her mind.
“I know, look, I have to go.”
“Go make him happy Jules,” he held her hand a second longer than necessary, “I hope he makes you happy too.”
She nodded and walked away from Howard, towards Robbie who waited for her with her coat in his hands.
They both got in the blinded limo and Robbie pulled her closer.
“You ok?” he asked her.
“Yeah,” she sighed and looked at him, wearing a big grin. “See, it was a good idea to come here tonight.” She said.
“You’re right, as usual. Thanks for making me go. I was shit scared though.”
“I know, I’m so proud of you!”.
Julia looked into his eyes and all the cheekiness had disappeared from his face. They seemed to move their faces closer and closer to one another. Julia felt his warmth, his strong arms holding her, the slight whiff of nicotine that surrounded him, his bitten fingernails.
“Did you ever imagine this moment?” Robbie whispered.
“What moment exactly do you mean?” She answered, her throat dry.
“This moment, that second before I will kiss you?”
“Are you going to kiss me then?” She asked
“I dunno, I don’t think I have the guts,” he said.
She smiled and touched his face, felt the stubble on her hands and the tickle in her stomach. He was so sweet, so much like her, so Robbie.
“What if I ask nicely?” she tried.
“Go ahead..”
“Would you kiss me Rob?” she softly said.
“Pleasure is all mine,” he growled low in the back of his throat and finally, his breath was on her lips and his mouth claimed hers.
Julia felt how her body had been waiting for this for far too long.
“All this time, I was looking for someone and you were right here,” he said once they’d gotten home and Robbie led her inside his house.
Julia closed the door behind her and threw her coat on the floor.
“We have a lot of catching up to do indeed.”
