Chapter 16: The Big Day
Andy groaned opening her eyes. She sat up and answered her phone, "Hello?" She said in a groggy voice.
"Oh please don't tell me you're JUST NOW WAKING UP!" She heard Wendy yell.
"Ow! Eardrum! Wendy it's like five in the morning!"
"No Andrea it's almost nine! Where the FUCK are you guys?!"
"No it's not, it's-" Andy's eyes went wide when she checked her watch.
"Fuck! FUCK! FUCK!" She yelled quickly standing up, "GUYS WAKE THE FUCK UP!" She yelled again kicking the guys on the living room floor.
"We overslept! We gotta get to the church! Ethan! Addy! Justin! WAKE UP!" She yelled throwing pillows.
"Get here Andrea! I told Lynn you were stopping for coffee. Shey's on the way now to drop off coffee to you guys so it'll look like you got it. You all were supposed to be here an HOUR ago! Your suites are here and so are your shoes! By the way, seriously with the shoes?!" Wendy said aghast.
"Okay, okay, okay, we're getting up. I need to shower, I smell like a bar. We all do. I guess we got carried away drinking last night." Andy said hearing the guys groan as they started to wake up.
"Just get here before Lynn thinks you left her at the altar!" Wendy hung up and Andy sighed.
"GUYS! WE'RE LATE! Why didn't we set our alarms?!" Andy said hoping over the guys.
Ethan stood up and yawned, "Uhh that was my bad, I forgot to remind everyone." He said sheepishly.
"For fuck sake Ethan!" Andy yelled grabbing some clothes from her duffel.
"Shey's bringing us coffee. Lynn thinks we're getting coffee. I can't believe this! I'm so hungover right now!" Andy tried to find her footing as she rushed down the hall.
"This is a great start to the day." Clint said getting up from the other couch.
Michael rubbed his head, "Okay, okay, we have two showers. Andy's in one of them. We need to take quick showers and get going. Oh I hope Shey brings bagels."
"I'm gonna shower." Ethan said stumbling through the living room.
"Think we can get to the church before ten?" Addy asked.
"If we all decide to brush our teeth in the shower, I don't see why not." Brandon said.
"I'm sure Andy is doing that right now." Brian said and they all laughed, then groaned.
The doorbell rang and Alex rushed over to the front door. He opened the door and smiled at Shey. He helped her with the cup trays and a couple of paper bags.
"Oh my God! What did you guys do last night?!" She asked as she walked in seeing the empty beer bottles, plastic wrappers from the snacks, empty pizza boxes, and plastic cups.
"Guess we got a little carried away." David said walking up to them. Andy came rushing out of the hallway drying her hair with a towel.
"Next! We gotta get going guys!" She said rushing to her duffel and pulling out a pair of socks.
"I'll go." Clint said grabbing his backpack and rushed towards the bathroom. Ethan brushed passed Clint, and Alex grabbed his small bag.
"My turn." He gave Ethan a quick kiss and rushed towards the other bathroom.
"Thank you. Yes, we'll be out all day." Andy said into her phone. "How soon can you get here? Okay, we should be gone by then, hold on one second." She covered the speaker on her phone and looked at Michael.
"Hey Michael, I'm having a cleaning crew come over while we're out. Do you have a spare key anywhere?"
"Uh yeah, I can leave one by the back door. Can you trust these guys?" He asked.
Andy nodded, "Yeah, it's the same company that cleaned up after the party in Georgia. I have an account with them. I also have them clean the townhouse in Boston twice a week."
Michael nodded, "I can leave one under the mat by the backdoor. It'll open it. Just make sure it gets put back."
"Thank you." She said and he gave her a wink. She continued to talk into her phone as she packed up her duffel bag. She hung up and zipped up her duffel. She stood up and finally noticed Shey standing there with her arms crossed, not looking too happy.
"I'm sorry, I'm soo sorry. We didn't set our alarms like we were supposed to. We'll be there soon I promise." Andy said with almost panic in her voice.
Shey came up to her best friend and put her hands on Andy's arms, "Andy calm down. I know you will. Just take a breath. We don't need you going to the hospital today of all days. There's a back entrance. Call me when you're close and I'll let you in. As soon as you get there get changed."
"Andy why don't the ones that already showered go with Shey and we'll catch up. That way we're all not scrambling at once. Shey can sneak you guys in, and then we'll call you when we're close and you can sneak the rest of us in." Brandon suggested.
"Okay, so who is all showered?" Shey asked looking around.
"So far Ethan, Andy, and here comes Clint and Alex." Brian said.
"You four come with me. The rest of you ESPECIALLY David since you're Lynn's best man, need to get to the church as soon as possible. Guests are gonna be arriving soon." Shey said and they all nodded. David grabbed his overnight bag and rushed towards one of the bathrooms, Brendan right behind him to use the other.
"Okay you four with me right now." Shey said point at Andy, Ethan, Alex, and Clint. They said their byes and rushed out of the door. They got into Shey's car and they were off.
"Shit, shit, shit!" Andy said.
"What's wrong?" Clint asked.
"Lynn and I are supposed to drive off in my truck! I hope Brandon has the spare with him." She said pulling out her phone and finding Brandon's number. After two rings he picked up.
Andy was talking to Brandon as Shey was speeding down the road trying to get to the church. Michael was right, he didn't live too far from it.
"Good news, Brandon has the spare key. He's gonna send Brendan to pick it up. Clint you know the routine right?" Andy asked turning around to look at him in the backseat.
"Sure do, Becca and I would work on it almost every day after work." He said with a smile.
"Awesome! I do wanna TRY to have one more run through." She said.
"What routine?" Shey asked as she turned into the church parking lot.
"You'll see." Andy said with a smile.
Shey pulled up to the back entrance and she parked the car. When she turned it off they all got out and rushed to the door. She opened it and they followed her to one of the rooms.
"Okay, here you go, your suites are in the closet and I'll let Wendy know that the four of you are here." Shey said as she was just about to leave Andy stopped her.
"Real quick DO NOT tell Angel, and thank you!" Andy said finished with a smile and gave her a hug. Shey smiled and returned it. They let go of each other and she told them they needed to get ready.
"Jennie is almost done with everyone's hair. Do you want me to send her your way when she's done?" Shey asked as she reached for the door.
"Yes please, I just need her to help me style mine. I can never get it right." Andy said as she looked in the mirror and sighed.
"Will do. Okay, I'll see you guys out there." She said with a smile and she closed the door behind her.
Andy went over to the closet and opened it. She smiled seeing ten garment bags hanging up. Each had their names one it.
"Okay, Ethan here's yours. Alex, yours, and Clint here's yours." Without even turning to the guys she just handed them out and they each took their suites.
"We about to look super sharp boys!" Clint said with a smile as he unzipped the garment bag.
Andy shook her head when she grabbed hers. She couldn't wait to put on the suite.
"Hey are we covering up our black eyes?" Alex asked.
Andy shook her head, "I'm not. I didn't plan on it."
"Same." Both Clint and Ethan said at the same time. Alex just shrugged and the four started to get ready. Clint was just about to take off his shirt when his phone started to ring. He answered it and waved over to Andy.
"The guys are almost here." He whispered to her. Andy told Ethan to go meet them in the parking lot and try to stay out of sight from the girls. Ethan nodded and left the room.
"How do you think Lynn is doing?" Clint asked taking off his shirt.
"She's a little more level headed than me so she might be doing okay." Andy said taking off her VANS.
"But she does get nervous before a big performance. So I'm sure she's nervous." Alex said looking at his untied bow tie confused.
The door opened and Ethan led the rest of the guys in. Andy smiled and told them their suites were in the closet. They all started to get ready. They were all talking and laughing. After a rough morning things started to turn around.
Meanwhile in another room down the hall Lynn and the bridesmaids were almost ready.
"Are you ready to put on your dress?" Angel asked with a smile.
"I need some air." Lynn said and rushed out of the room. The women stared at each other with confused looks. Angel put gently put down Lynn's wedding dress and followed her out. She went through the back entrance and found Lynn pacing on the sidewalk.
"What's wrong?" Angel asked coming up to her.
"I don't know. I think I'm about to have a panic attack." Lynn said trying to catch her breath. Angel rushed up to her and put her arm around her.
"Is this like an excited panic attack or a nervous panic attack?" Angel asked.
"I have no idea. I need to check the main hall. Make sure everything is set." Lynn said and Angel nodded.
"Okay, okay, come on." Angel held onto Lynn helping her walk back into the church. They walked through the hallway and entered the main hall of the church. Lynn let go of Angel and started to look around.
Everything seemed perfect in Angel's eyes. But then she heard Lynn talking to some of the people doing the final set ups. Angel shook her head watching Lynn.
"How is she doing?" Justin asked as he came up to Angel.
"Shockingly, she's a bridezilla. Been on us about everything. She got up at five started banging around the house trying to get things ready. She kept saying we had to leave at six to get here. I've had like three cups of coffee at this point." Angel told him with a shake of her head.
Justin smiled, "Who knew our Lynn would be THIS nervous."
Angel chuckled and nodded, "How's Andy? Is she just as nervous?"
Justin shrugged, "She seems fine. We had a rough morning. We all literally got here about forty five minutes ago. We overslept. Wendy called Andy waking her up, and well, like I said it was just a rough morning."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait! You mean to tell me all TEN of you got here forty five minutes ago?!" Angel said trying to keep her voice down. Just then Lynn rushed up to them.
"Where's Andy's truck?! Her and I are supposed to ride in it together to the reception! Where is it?! Justin! What's going on?! Is Andrea even HERE?!"
"Lynn calm down take a breath. Andy's here. She's here. We all just got changed. Brendan is getting Andy's truck and he should be here any minute. We forgot to get it last night. Remember she rode with Michael to his place. She didn't take her truck." Justin gently took her hand in his.
"Everything looks perfect. Calm down. Andy can't wait to see you! She looks great! I'm sure you will too! Now, take a deep breath and calm down. Everything is going to be amazing. Jennie is in there right now fixing up her hair. Speaking of hair," he smiled and really looked at Lynn.
"I love it! Now, you finish getting ready. I'm sure Andy is going to cry seeing you walk down that aisle." Justin smiled and gave Lynn a hug. She gave out a sigh of relief and knew he was right. She was freaking out over nothing. They pulled away from each other and Lynn smiled.
"Guys, I'm ACTUALLY getting married!" She said with a small laugh. She covered her mouth with her hand and shook her head.
"Well, you're already married." Angel told her smiling.
"I know, I know, but for some reason this wedding is making it real. An ENTIRE year of planning and it's all come to this. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all." She shook her head and put her hand over to stomach. She let out a breath a looked at her two friends.
Brian and Alex came up behind Justin and Angel. They were smiling walking up to Lynn.
"The blushing bride. How are you?" Alex asked giving her a hug.
"Had a small panic attack, but I think I'm okay now. Just having this coming into light is just so surreal you know? I always thought I get married in my thirties not my twenties. I feel like I'm still dreaming of this day. But I'm not dreaming anymore it's real. It's really happening." Lynn said looking at her best friends. They all smiled back at her.
David came up to them and Lynn rushed up to him. He smiled and pulled in for a tight hug. They stayed like that for a few moments and pulled away.
"My little sister is getting married. Again." He said touching her cheek.
She smiled, "How's Andy doing?"
"She's good. Her and the guys are bantering back and forth. I had to get out of there. They keep making fun of each other like brothers do. Addy is in on it too. Little weird." He said with a chuckle.
"Kind of like what we do, but they're banter is different. Lot of cussing and always trying to hit each other in the dicks. It's weird." Alex said shaking his head.
"Remember what Ethan and Andy always say every time they're in the kitchen?" Angel asked.
"Once a line cook, always a line cook?" Brian asked.
"Yup, Andy's back with her friends. So, of course they're going to be acting like that. Just like at the rehearsal dinner when almost everyone went home." Angel said rolling her eyes.
Justin laughed, "I'm gonna go check on her. You," He said pointing at Lynn, "Finish getting ready. Guests are about to arrive. Andy's pretty much ready."
"Yeah not bad for us getting her an hour ago." Brian said with a laugh.
"WHAT?!" Lynn said looking at him.
"That's my cue to leave." Justin said and he rushed away. He rushed down the hallway and quickly entered the room where Andy and the guys were getting ready. Ethan was helping Andy put on her suit jacket.
"Dude, you better get your bride. She became a bridezilla in a manner of three hours." Justin said adjusting his bow tie.
Andy chuckled and shook her head. She was about to say something when Brian walked in and closed the door, "So um, Lynn isn't happy." He said with a nervous chuckle.
"What's wrong? What happened?" Andy asked turning to him.
"Well, we kind of told her we all got here about an hour ago." He said sheepishly.
"Oh God! I need to talk to her." She took out her phone and found Lynn's name. She quickly tapped her name and waited for Lynn to answer.
After one ring Andy heard her voice, "Hey you."
Andy smiled, "Hey beautiful. How are you?"
"I'm great, considering the fact that you and the guys got here around an hour ago! Whereas we've been here since seven!"
Andy closed her eyes and let out a sigh, "I know, I know, I'm sorry. We didn't set our alarms last night. We also got a little carried away with the drinking. But we're here and we're ready."
"I can't wait to see you." She smiled hearing the smile in Lynn's voice.
"I can't wait to see you either." Andy said. Brendan rushed in a little out of breath.
"Sorry guys, but I had to double back. I forgot I left my suit at my place, but the truck is here. Now come on let's go decorate it." He said with a smile and all the guys rushed out.
Andy shook her head, "Are you okay?" She said into her phone.
"I'm more than okay. I can't believe this is actually happening. I think you were right about the beach. It was simple and easy. This is a pretty big deal."
"Oh, don't tell me that the famous Lynn Gunn is nervous to stand in front of all of our friends and family. This coming from the front woman of an amazing band that sold out the O2 in a matter of hours."
Lynn chuckled, "What about you? Are you okay?"
"I get to marry you all over again. I'm more than okay. The only person I'm excited to see is you. Any morning sickness today?"
"At little, but not as bad as it was last month. I can't wait to tell them."
Andy smiled again, "I can't either. The guys suspect something, but I shot them down."
"I think the girls suspect something too. But they haven't told me anything."
Andy heard a knock on the door. She went over it and opened it up. She smiled seeing her mom and dad.
"Hey my parents are here. I'll meet you at the altar." She said with a smile.
"I love you." Lynn said in a soft voice.
"I love you. I'll see you soon." Andy hung up her phone and gave her parents a hug.
"Sweetheart! You look amazing! Guests are starting to arrive. How are you feeling?" Susan asked taking her daughter's hand in hers.
"I'm good. Little nervous, but good. The guys are decorating my truck right now. Kelly should be here any minute to take pictures." Andy said.
Kevin put a hand on her shoulder, "We love you and we're so proud of you. We just wanted to check in and see how you are doing. We're gonna check on Lynn in a few minutes. Her parents are in with her now."
Andy nodded smiling at her mom and dad, "I love you both. Thank you for everything." They hugged each other once again and the two left the room.
Andy sighed and looked at herself in the full length mirror. Her hair was styled just right. The black suit fit well with the other three colors. She loved her Slytherin boots, and couldn't wait to fully break them in. She adjusted her emerald tie and smiled. Today was going to be a good day.
In the room down the hall Cathy was drying her eyes seeing Lynn in her wedding dress for the first time.
"Honey, you look so beautiful." She said pulling her daughter in for a tight hug. Tim too was drying his eyes.
"You really do sweetheart." He said putting his arms around his wife and daughter. They stayed like that for a few more minutes and let go of each other.
"You two stop it! I'm gonna ruin my makeup!" She said with a small laugh. Angel handed Lynn a tissue and she quickly thanked her.
"Does Andy know you're wearing a dress?" Cathy asked and Lynn shook her head.
"No, I wanted to surprise her." Lynn told them just as they heard a knock on the door. Wendy went to answer it and she smiled seeing her parents.
Kevin and Susan hugged their young daughter telling her how beautiful she looked. They pulled away from each other and the couple looked over at Lynn.
Susan looked over at Lynn and she could feel the tears coming to her eyes. Same with Kevin.
"Now, don't you two start too! I just got done with my own tears!" Lynn said dabbing her eyes again.
"We just came from checking in on Andrea. She looks amazing. But you, you look breathtaking." Susan said with a smile going up to her and giving her a tight hug. Kevin right behind his wife.
When they let go, Kevin gave Lynn a hug as well, "I never properly said it, but welcome to the family." He whispered and Lynn smiled as they pulled away.
"Thank you Kevin." She said in a soft voice.
"We're gonna look in on Andrea. We'll see you guys out there." Tim said with a smile. He gave his daughter one last hug as did Cathy and they walked out of the room.
Tim put his arm around Cathy and they reached the other room. He knocked on the door and heard Andy voice telling them to come in. He opened the door and let Cathy in first.
Andy smiled seeing the two of them. Cathy walked up to her and gave her a hug. When they pulled away Tim did the same.
He smiled and put a hand on her shoulder, "I know I said it last year, but welcome to the family."
"Thank you. It truly means a lot. Also for you both to be here." She told them with a smile.
"We wouldn't miss it for the world." Cathy said giving Andy's hand a gentle squeeze.
"You look so handsome! How are you feeling?" She asked and Andy sighed.
"I'm a little nervous, but good. Had a rough morning, but we made it." She told them.
"We just checked on Lynn she looks so beautiful." Tim said.
"I can't wait to see her." Andy smiled.
The door opened and a woman in her mid twenties walked in with a camera. Andy smiled and waved her in. The guys followed behind her.
"Kelly! We haven't seen you since the show in Boston! How are you?!" Cathy said going up to her.
Kelly smiled, "I'm great! When I got the call I couldn't turn them down! It's so good to see you both!" She said and gave Tim a hug.
"I can't wait to get pictures with you and Lynn!" She said with a smile.
"We'll let you get to it. Let us know when you're ready for us. We're going to start welcoming the guests." Cathy said giving her one more hug. After a few more moments they left the room and Kelly came up to Andy.
Andy took her hands in hers and smiled, "Thank you so much for coming. I wish Matty was here too, but he's having a blast on tour."
"Thank you for calling me! I wouldn't miss this for the world! Now come on we're kind of crunched for time. I wanna get individual ones, then you with the two best men, the groomsmen. You with your parents, Lynn's parents, then the maid of honors, then all the bridesmaids. The flower girls, and ring bearer. After the ceremony, one of you and Lynn, then parents, wedding party, well you know the drill." Kelly explained.
Andy chuckled, "Just tell us where you want us and we'll follow your lead."
Kelly nodded, "Okay, let's do some shots in here. Then, head outside for some more. We'll end at the altar. Let's get some shots of you and guys just hanging out. Just act casual." She said taking her camera and started to take some shots of the guys.
Andy nodded and went up to Ethan and David, "Can I take a look at the rings?" She asked and they both nodded. They reached into their suit jacket pockets and pulled out a small box. One red and one black. The red one had a small silver ribbon whereas the black one had an emerald ribbon.
They both opened up the boxes and Andy smiled, "I can't wait to put this on her finger." She said softly. She leaned in closely and looked at the diamond ring. It was her grandmother's. The one her grandfather gave her when she was in Florida for her thirtieth birthday. Then she looked at the ring her grandfather gave Lynn. She couldn't believe it. They were going to wear her grandparents rings. She felt closer to them and she couldn't be happier.
"Okay, let's move outside guys." Kelly said with a smile. They all nodded and followed her out. Andy was the last one and she heard loud laughter coming from one of the rooms. She smiled and shook her head. She couldn't wait to see Lynn.
*****************************************************************************
"To Lynn!" Angel said raising her glass of champagne. The women repeated after Angel and touched their glasses together.
"One glass of champagne isn't going to hurt you!" Kim told Lynn watching her put down the glass.
"I just want to be level headed before everything starts." Lynn said taking a breath and smiled.
There was a knock at the door and they saw Melissa, Erika, and Kara walked in, behind them Mila walked in shyly. Lynn smiled seeing the four of them. She walked up to them and gave them each a hug, then she turned to Mila.
"I'm so glad you could make it." She said softly giving the young girl a hug.
"Thank you for inviting me. I came alone. Didn't really have anyone to come along with me." Mila said sheepishly.
Lynn smiled, "That's okay, come on let me introduce you to everyone." She took Lynn's hand and started to introduce Mila to her friends.
"So, how are we going to tell them?" Erika said crossing her arms turning to Melissa.
"Let's let them have this day. We can't ruin it. Let's wait a few more days.I'm pretty sure they're gonna have a second honeymoon too. But we just have to wait until everything settles down." Melissa said.
"Why can't these people leave them alone?" Kara asked shaking her head.
"Well, this all still a little fresh. This magazine is just trying to get dirt on a lot of celebrities. We're live streaming this too. Robin and Maria are out there setting up. I'm just fed up with this magazine. It's been two years. They haven't let up." Erika said. Melissa sighed watching Lynn smile as she introduced Mila to the others.
"The thing is Lynn and Andy are fresh meat. Remember six years ago they went after another famous couple?" Melissa asked and they both nodded.
"They were relentless until the couple broke up. Then all of a sudden Lynn and Andy are on the front cover. This magazine caused a break up. It's our job to make sure Lynn and Andy don't have the same fate." Melissa told them and they both agreed.
"Andy and Lynn are strong. They've overcome a lot of heat from the media and came forward with their truth. That's all the matters. Plus we do our own research, unlike this so called magazine." Kara told them.
There was another knock at the door and Brian popped his head in the room, "Ladies, sorry to interrupt, but Kelly needs the maids of honor and bridesmaids for photos." He told them with a smile. He looked at Angel and gave her a wink. After that he closed the door.
"Okay, guess that's our cue. We'll see you out there. Hey Mila would you like to be in some of the photos?" Angel asked.
"Is that okay?" Mila asked looking at Lynn.
"It's more than okay. Go ahead and go with them, I'll join you shortly. Andy and I aren't supposed to see each other until the ceremony. Go on." Lynn gave Mila a small kiss on her forehead, then Angel took her hand. The others gave Lynn a hug and they left the room. With Melissa, Erika, and Kara following them.
After a few minutes there was a knock at the door and she told them to come in. She smiled when she saw Justin walk in followed by the rest of the groomsmen.
All of them stopped in their tracks. They saw Lynn in her wedding dress and they couldn't believe how beautiful she looked.
"Guys, please don't start crying. I just got done crying and I don't think I can cry anymore." She said with a small giggle.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Alex said quickly wiping his eyes. As did the other guys.
"You look amazing." Brian said softly walking up to her giving her a hug.
"Never thought I would see the day you would be in a dress." Alex said with a smile. Lynn turned to him and gave him a hug.
"Andy is definitely going to cry seeing you." Justin said with a smile. Lynn let go of Alex and turned to Justin.
"David are you okay?" Ethan asked putting on hand on his shoulder. David quickly wiped his eyes and sniffled.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm good." He smiled and saw Lynn looking at him with a smile. He walked up to her and put his arms around her pulling her in for a tight hug.
"You look so beautiful. I love you." He whispered.
Lynn held her brother close, "I love you too. I'm so happy you're here with me."
David smiled and pulled away from but still kept his hands on her arms, "I wouldn't miss this for the world. I'm always going to be here for you. We all are."
Lynn nodded, "I'm always going to be here for you too. For all of you. "
Ethan, Addy, Brandon, Michael, and Clint walked up to Lynn. She hugged all of them and they all said how beautiful she looked. Clint said he had to meet Melissa, but to come get him when it was time to take pictures with Lynn.
Lynn smiled looking at Ethan, "How is she doing?"
"She seems good. No signs of nervousness. How are you doing?" He asked her looking at her with worried eyes.
Lynn sighed, "I'm a nervous wreck! I've done sold out shows, music festivals. Coachella! But this, this is too much."
David smiled and put his hand on her shoulders, "Calm down. You're going to be great! Are you nervous about what you're going to say before the vows?"
"Yeah, there's still so much I want to say. Plus who gets married after ten months?!"
Brian gently touched Lynn's shoulder, "Hey, hey, hey, some people married after three months. Just relax. You got this. Do you have notes or anything you want to go over?"
Lynn shook her head, "No, all I had to do is look at her and the words tend to come. I can't explain it."
They smiled and there was a knock at the door. Kelly came in with a smile and Lynn rushed up to her almost tripping over her dress. "Oh my God! I'm so happy you're here!" She said wrapping the woman in a tight embrace.
Kelly laughed, "I'm happy to! Congratulations! I can't believe this is happening!"
Addy gently passed by them saying he was going to get Clint for the pictures. When he left the two let go of each other and Kelly really looked at Lynn.
"You look so beautiful! I can't believe you're in a dress!"
Lynn giggled, "I know! I can't believe it either! I was thinking about doing a nice pant suit but we were shopping for the bridesmaids dresses and I saw this dress. I just knew I had to have it."
"Well, you look amazing! I just got done doing pictures with Andy, are you ready for yours?"
Lynn nodded and the door opened. Addy and Clint walked in and they both smiled. Kelly told them she wanted again to do behind the scenes with Lynn. They would do the same thing and again switch it up with the bridesmaids. She started to click away at her camera. Kelly told them to act natural.
Addy came up to Lynn and smiled, "Are you ready for all the crazy sports calls I'm going to give my cousin?"
Lynn laughed, "Oh I'm so ready. I've decided to try and get into the fantasy football stuff she does. Maybe I'll get the hang of it."
"We'll help you through it. Just be patient with her. She tends to get a little too excited about things. We also made a deal for today. She's not to look at ANY of the baseball scores until tomorrow." Addy told her.
"How did she take it?" Lynn asked.
Addy shrugged, "She said she already knew the deal and she wouldn't look at her phone all day today. Today is all about YOU and this wedding. Also welcome to the family." He said giving her a hug.
"Thank you. I can't wait for our get together's." She said as they pulled away from each other.
"Same here. Summer nights in Georgia are the best. I can't wait to see Boston." He told her and gave her hand a gently squeeze. Kelly said it was time for them to move outside. David offered his arm to Lynn and she looped hers through his. They smiled and they followed everyone out of the room. Lynn could hear chatter coming from the main area. She had butterflies in her stomach, but she knew they would calm down once she saw Andy standing at the altar.
****************************************************************************
Andy was standing at the entrance greeting the guests. She smiled seeing Robin and Maria doing the live stream. Her parents and Lynn's parents were waiting for their pictures to be taken with Lynn. She couldn't wait to see the pictures next week. She smiled and continued to greet the guests. Most she knew, some she didn't, she assumed they were part of Lynn's family.
She smiled seeing her Uncle Chris walk up the steps with Veronica. Antony and his wife Christina right behind them. She gave her Uncle a hug and also Veronica. She went to shake Antony's hand but he surprised her with a hug. Same with Christina.
"I'm so happy for you. Thank you for letting us be a part of this." Christina said with a smile gently touching her cheek.
"You all have been a big part in my life. I couldn't leave you out. Are your daughters coming?"
Antony nodded, "They'll be here shortly. They had to double back to pick up Dustin. We'll see ya in there." He gave her a gentle pat on her shoulder. Then the couple walked into the church.
"Nervous?" Chris asked her.
Andy shook her head, "Not really. I just hope I don't stumble over my words."
"You're a great speaker. Just tell her how you feel." Chris said gently putting his hand on her shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze, "We'll see you in a bit." He kissed her forehead, then he and his wife walked into the church.
Melissa came up to her and smiled, "We're almost ready. The guys and Lynn just finished up pictures. Kelly's getting pictures with Lynn and the girls now. Clint and I have been going over our notes." She gave Andy a hug tight embrace.
"Thank you for putting up with me." Melissa whispered as they pulled away.
Andy chuckled, "Thank you for putting up with ME. I know I've caused a lot of scandals the last couple of years."
Melissa took Andy's hand in hers, "Andrea! It's okay. These so called scandals you're talking about weren't your fault. You were caught in the middle. Don't ever think it was your fault."
Andy sighed, "I'm sorry, it's just that I can't help but feel guilty bringing in all this drama since we met. I'm trying to leave everything behind but it just keeps coming up."
Melissa was about to say something but Angel came up to them, "We're ready once the guests settle in."
Andy nodded and took in a deep breath, "How's Lynn?"
"She calmed down after a bit, but she's fine now. She can't wait to see you and I think seeing Mila kind of helped her settle down a bit."
Andy smiled, "She and Mila really connected when we were at Rick's. The two went on and on about sketching and painting. They barely touched their food. I kind of sat back and just watched the two of them interact. It was amazing. I sneaked a picture. I'll show you at the reception."
Clint came up to them and told them all the guests were settled in. Maria and Robin were set up by the altar and Kelly was snapping away on her camera. Kevin and Susan came up to her and smiled.
The groomsmen followed along with the best men. Andy wanted to go over everything one more time and Brandon put his hand on her shoulder.
"Andy calm down. Clint and Melissa will lead. Then, me and Shey, Justin, Lauren, Michael, Kayla, Alex, Kim, Addy, Brittany, Brian, Lisa, Ethan, Wendy, and finally David, and Angel. We're all paired up. Then, you follow with your parents. Angela and Rhea will walk down the aisle throwing flower petals, then Trevor right behind them. Then, Lynn and her parents. Everyone has their spots and the wedding will start." Brandon said as the bridesmaids and the maids of honor came up to all of them.
Melissa smiled when she heard light music playing, "Clint that's our cue." Melissa said and Clint smiled. The two gave Andy a hug. Melissa hooked her arm through Clint's and they started to walk down the aisle. The wedding party started to line up and Andy got behind David and Angel with her parents by her side.
With each step she took, she could feel her heart race. She grabbed her mom's hand and Susan looked at her, "Andrea are you okay?"
"Was Wendy able to give you my heart medicine?" Andy whispered.
Susan nodded and looked at Kevin. He reached into his pocket and took out the all too familiar pill bottle. He opened it up and gave Andy a small pill. She took it as her dad closed up the bottle and put it back in his pocket.
"You okay?" Kevin asked rubbing her back.
Andy nodded, "Yeah, yeah, I was fine earlier, but I guess now it's all just coming at me. Like it's really happening."
Susan took her daughter's hand and gently squeezed it, "Babe, you've been in front of thousands of people before. Why is this any different?"
Andy shook her head, "I don't know. I really don't."
Kevin smiled put his arm around her waist, "You're going to be fine, and I'm sure Lynn is just as nervous."
Andy nodded, "I love you both. Thank you so much for everything."
"We love you and we're so proud of you." Susan said kissing Andy on her cheek.
"Come on we're up." Kevin whispered kissing Andy on her forehead. Andy looped her arm through her dad's and she held onto her mom's hand. She took a deep breath and the three started to slowly walk down the aisle.
She smiled and nodded at her friends and family. Some were already wiping tears away from their cheeks. They reached the altar and Andy gave her parents each a hug and a kiss on their cheeks. They both kissed her cheek and they turned to take their seats in the front row.
Andy walked up the steps and hugged Ethan, "I love you bud." She whispered.
"I love you. I can't promise I'm not gonna cry." He whispered as they let go.
She chuckled and turned to Clint and gave him a hug. When they let go she hugged Melissa and then she stood where she was supposed to. The music changed and Andy saw her little sisters walk down the aisle with the help of her cousin Sherry. They looked absolutely adorable in their little white dresses and shoes. They were throwing the flower petals on the ground.
The crowd chuckled when Rhea stopped to pick up a few flower petals and put them back in her basket. Sherry looked up at Andy and shook her head with a smile. The two little girls looked up and saw Andy. Sherry knew what was going to happen. She quickly grabbed them and chuckled. She whispered something to them and they nodded.
It wasn't long until they reached the altar and Andy bent down and gave them both a hug and a kiss on the top of their heads. She told them they did a great job, and then told them to go to their mom. They giggled and rushed over to Susan. Andy gave Sherry a hug and thanked her for helping them down the aisle.
Andy turned her attention back to the aisle and saw Trevor walking towards her with a pillow carrying the rings. His eyes brightened up when he saw Andy and he wanted to run to her. But she held up her hand and smiled at him. He nodded remembering what he had to do. As he got close Andy kneeled down on her good knee and waited for him.
Once he reached the altar he rushed up to Andy nearly knocking her over. She laughed as well as the crowd. She kissed his cheek and told him he did a good job. David and Ethan took the rings from the pillow, and put them in their pockets.
Andy told Trevor to go over to Uncle Kevin and he did. He rushed up to him and Kevin picked him up and put him in his lap. With Ethan's help Andy stood up and smiled. She straightened out her suite as the music changed.
Everyone in the church stood up waiting for Lynn to make her entrance. Andy could feel her heart race again and she started to take slow deep breaths. She had to calm herself down. The doors opened revealing Lynn and her parents.
Andy put her hand to her mouth and she could already feel the tears coming. Seeing Lynn in her white wedding gown was enough to make her almost lose her cool. She cleared her throat as she continued to watch Lynn walk down the aisle with her parents. Andy also noticed Lynn changed her hair color. Gone was the blonde, and now Lynn was back to her natural brown.
Andy quickly wiped her tears away and let out a sigh.
Lynn looked up at the altar and could see Andy's reaction. She could feel her heart skip a beat once those doors opened. Once they reached the halfway point she just let her own tears fall. She felt her mom give her arm a gentle squeeze as well as her dad. They reached the last step and Andy went down to meet them. She hugged Cathy and Tim, then lifted Lynn's veil.
Lynn turned to her parents and they both gave her a hug and a kiss on her cheeks. They turned to join Kevin and Susan in the front row. The crowd sat down in their seats as Lynn looped her arm around Andy's and they walked up the steps. When they came to their spots Lynn gave her flowers to Angel. She turned back to Andy and the two held each other's hands.
"You look amazing. So beautiful." Andy whispered.
"Me? Look at you! You look incredible." Lynn whispered.
Andy gave her a wink and Clint cleared his throat.
"Ladies and gentlemen we are here to join Andrea Michelle Hill, and Lyndsey Gunnulfsen in matrimony. Now, before we start, is there anyone here that believes these two shouldn't be wed please say so or forever hold your peace." Clint said and everyone was quiet for a few moments.
When no one said anything Lynn and Andy let out a sigh of relief. It was Melissa's turn to speak.
"Today is a little different than most wedding ceremonies. Lynn and Andrea have asked Clint and I to officiate. One reason because we both have been in their lives for a long time and we would each like to share a story. My favorite story about Lynn is when she called me to tell she met someone new. I was a little hesitant because she was still hurting from her previous relationship. Then, she told me she met this person at a meet and greet. That for me raised red flags.
So I had to go and meet with Lynn while she was on tour. When she talked about Andrea her eyes lit up like I've never seen before. She was waving her hands around like a crazy person. Talking a mile a minute. Pacing back and forth. When she finally calmed down I knew I had to meet this girl that has stolen her heart. I honestly thought this was just a fling, but look at where we are now. When I look at these two, I see true love. A love that is definitely hard to find. They overcame a lot since they met. They came out stronger and loving each other more than ever. I'm so glad these two are together. I can't wait to see what these two have in store for their future." Melissa sniffled and quickly wiped a stray tear from her eye.
Clint gently rubbed her back and she chuckled, "Your turn. I need to collect myself."
Everyone chuckled and Clint cleared his throat. He looked at his friend and patted her on her shoulder.
"What can I say about Andrea that we all don't know? When I first met her she was this shy person that didn't really open up. Then after working together for a few months she started to slowly come out of her shell. I've seen her go through a lot of heartache. So when she told me about Lynn, I was a little hesitant as well. Andrea was still kind of reeling from her five year relationship. So I naturally thought this was just a rebound relationship.
But then I was able to hang out with them, and I noticed how Lynn would look at Andrea, and the way she would look at Lynn. I saw the connection and I saw something in Andrea's eyes that I've never seen before. I've never knew Andrea to slow down at anything. But then Lynn comes into her life and Andrea started to slow down just a little bit. These two balance each other out, and I'm so happy for them. Their future looks bright and I can't wait to see them take on the world together." Clint finished and he too had to wipe a stray tear from his eye.
It was Melissa's turn to gently rub Clint's back and they both smiled at each other. Melissa turned to the couple and spoke again, "Before we get to the vows, Lynn and Andrea have prepared something to say to each other. Lynn?"
Lynn smiled and looked into Andrea's brown eyes. She got lost in them for a moment and she cleared her throat.
"Andrea, I always thought I would get married later in life. I wanted to explore more and just wanted to see what the world had to offer. But then I met you and all of sudden became my world. You have this aura about you and I absolutely love it. You're so different from everyone that I've met. I was scared at first, but I put that fear aside and took wild chance. I didn't expect to fall for you at all. I didn't expect to fall in love so hard and so deep to the point where you make my heart skip a beat just by walking into a room. I can't wait to start a family with you. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
You've brought so much joy and happiness into my life I didn't know it was possible. We've been through so much these past couple of years, but here we are standing in front of our family and friends. Standing stronger than ever. I will love you forever and always. You are my inspiration, my rock, my best friend, and I'm still on this rollercoaster ride with you. I'm on this ride forever and I don't plan on getting off any time soon."
Andy lifted her hand and gently wiped a tear from Lynn's cheek. She kept her hand there for a moment and smiled.
"Andrea you're up." Clint said with a smile.
"No idea how to follow up to that." She said and the crowd chuckled. Andy cleared her throat and she looked into Lynn's dreamy hazel eyes. She kissed the back of Lynn's hands and then looked back at her with a smile.
"Lyndsey, I never thought I would be here. Being with someone who inspired me. Someone who brought me out of the darkness that always surrounds me. But you became my light. This bright shining light that I keep moving towards. No matter how dark it is, you're there to guide me through it. You keep me grounded and know when I need to stop to take in the moment. I've learned how to slowly relax and enjoy what life has to offer. You put my heart back together and you inspire me to this day.
I fell so hard so fast for you, I was scared out of my mind. But I knew you were a chance worth taking. I wasn't known to take any risk before meeting you. I thought I wasn't going anywhere in my life until you. Because of you giving me the push I needed, I began to live out my dreams. I didn't think was possible. All of this is because of you. I'm am honored to stay by your side forever and I can't wait to raise our children together." Andy and Lynn both looked at Mila and smiled. Then they turned back to each other.
"You are truly the love of my life and no matter where this journey takes us, I'm glad I'm with you. I love you always and until forever 's gone, I will still love you. You have my heart and will always have my heart until the end of time."
There wasn't a dry eye in the church. There was a few minutes of silence for everyone to collect themselves and Clint finally spoke up, "Okay Andrea repeat after me."
"I Andrea Michelle Hill." Clint started.
"I Andrea Michelle Hill."
"Take Lyndsey Gunnulfsen as my wife."
"Take Lyndsey Gunnulfsen as my wife."
"To have and to hold through sickness and in health. For better or for worse. For richer, for poorer. To love, to honor, to cherish until death do us part."
"To have and to hold, through sickness and in health. For better or for worse. For richer, for poorer. To love, to honor, to cherish until death do us part."
Melissa smiled and looked at Lynn, "I Lyndsey Gunnulfsen take Andrea Michelle Hill as my wife."
Lynn smiled through the tears, "I Lyndsey Gunnulfsen take Andrea Michelle Hill as my wife."
"To have and to hold. Through sickness and in health. For better or for worse. For richer, for poorer. To love, to honor, to cherish, until death do us part."
Lynn quickly wiped away her tears and took Andy's hand in hers, "To have and to hold. Through sickness and in health. For better or for worse. For richer, for poorer. To love, to honor, to cherish, until death do us part."
"Now, the rings." Clint said.
Lynn turned to her brother just as Andy turned to Ethan. After getting the rings from them Andy made eye contact with her grandfather. He smiled giving her a nod as he wiped a tear from her cheek.
"Lynn place the ring on Andy's left ring finger and repeat after me." Melissa said.
Andy held up her left hand as Lynn was about to place the ring on her finger.
"With this ring I thee wed."
"With this ring I thee wed." Lynn said as she placed the ring fully on Andy's finger.
"Andrea you're up." Clint said with a wink. Lynn held up her left finger and Andy placed the ring on her left finger.
"With this ring I thee wed." Clint said with a smile.
"With this ring I thee wed." Andy repeated and fully placed the ring on Lynn's finger.
Both Clint and Melissa smiled and took each other's hand. Then, they spoke together, "By the power vested in us and the website that allowed us to do this. We pronounce you wife and wife. YOU MAY KISS YOUR BRIDE!"
Andy smiled and pulled Lynn close and they leaned in and gave each other a soft kiss on the lips. The church erupted into loud cheers and applause. They pulled away from each other and Andy kissed Lynn's forehead, then rested her against hers, "We did it, again. I love you so much." She whispered.
"I love you. Oh my God I love you." Lynn whispered back. They kissed each other one more time and then started to make their way down the aisle. But they stopped by the row where Mila was and Andy waved her over for her to join them. Without thinking Mila made her way towards them and the three started to walk down the aisle.
Once they were back at the entrance they were met Kelly, and she led them towards the room they would stay in for a bit until the guest were outside waiting for them. The wedding party would meet them in the room so Kelly could get some quick pictures.
Lynn and Andy gave Mila a hug. Lynn gently put her arms on her shoulders and smiled, "Today is also about you. We filed the papers yesterday. We're going to do our best to have you be a part of our family."
Andy kneeled down on her good knee and smiled at Mila, "We still have a lot to talk about, but what we know for sure is that we want you to be our daughter. We want to be able to give you an incredible life. Good news or bad news, whatever happens, we will be a part of each others lives."
Mila had tears running down her cheeks and Lynn wiped them away. She helped Andy up and then Mila didn't say anything, she just put her arms around the two of them. They didn't hear the door open.
Angel and David walked in seeing the three of them. They smiled and quietly walked in followed by the wedding party. Andy was the first to notice them and Kelly said she wanted to get some more pictures with everyone at the altar. Mila was more than welcome to join them as well.
Andy nodded and they made their way back into the church. Meanwhile the guests were gathering outside ready to greet the newlyweds. Andy's truck was decorated with car chalk saying 'JUST MARRIED' with bows and ribbons coming off of it. As well as the traditional cans tied to her hitch. Brendan and Trey were passing out little packets of rice to throw at Andy and Lynn when they would walk through the doors.
Everyone was talking about how beautiful the wedding was and how amazing the couple looked. The shock of Lynn being in a wedding dress and changing her hair back to her natural hair color. Juliet mentioned Andy's boots and the people around her chuckled. After a few more minutes of the guests chatting, Erika came out of the church announcing the couple was on their way out.
She and Kara opened the doors and out walked Lynn and Andy arm in arm. They waved at everyone as Kelly rushed in front of them to start taking pictures. Andy and Lynn walked down the steps and everyone started to throw the rice at them. They laughed as they rushed towards Andy's truck.
After Kelly took their pictures at the altar Angel and Brian offered for Mila to ride with them and the others in the limo. At first Mila was a little nervous but Andy eased her mind saying that Angel and Brian were practically family. Mila gave her a small smile and nodded. It was settled. Mila would ride with wedding party to the reception.
Andy opened the passenger door for Lynn and helped her wife into the truck. Once Lynn was settled she closed the door and waved to everyone. She yelled at them saying she would see them soon. She rushed over to the driver side and got in. She smiled at Lynn putting on her seatbelt along with Lynn. She started up the truck and they were off to Peabody's.
She honked the horn as everyone cheered and waved at them as they drove away. Andy took Lynn's hand in hers and kissed the back of it.
"I know I said you looked beautiful, but I'm changing it to gorgeous. You look absolutely stunning!"
"Again, me?! What about you in that suit?! I wanted to jump your bones in front of everyone!" Lynn said giggling.
"You can jump my bones later tonight." Andy said giving her hand a squeeze. She moved her hand to Lynn's stomach and smiled.
"Are you ready to tell them?" She asked as she turned down the street to take the long way to the reception.
"I'm ready, if you're ready." Lynn told her putting her hand over Andy's and her other hand when to the back of Andy's neck. She started to absentmindedly run her fingers through the short hair like she has many times before.
"And we did come up with Godparents right?" Andy asked.
Lynn nodded. "These little ones are going to be spoiled rotten."
"Mila too. If everything goes through. I think would should make them her Godparents too." Andy suggested coming to a red light.
"Look at you already thinking ahead." Lynn said looking at her wife. Andy smiled keeping her eyes on the road.
"We have a lot to look forward to, and I'm glad I get to look forward to things with you. By the way, I bought three tickets for Okinawa. Figured we could take Mila." Andy said as the light turned green.
Lynn was about to say something Andy slammed on her breaks. She didn't hit anything or anyone but she heard Andy curse under her breath.
"Are you okay?" Andy asked looking at Lynn and she nodded.
"What happened?"
"I don't know, someone just ran out in front of the truck. I don't know where they went. Hold on let me pull over." She said as she pulled the truck over to a meter. Leaving it running she quickly got out and looked up and down the sidewalk. She didn't see anyone, but she saw movement down the block.
"Lynn! Call Ethan! Tell him we're gonna be a bit late!" She yelled and took off running down the sidewalk. She turned the corner and was almost hit with something, but she blocked it.
"HEY! HEY! Calm down! Are you okay? Are you hurt?!" She yelled at the person.
"You ran right in front of me! I just wanted to see if you were okay!" Andy said as the person fully turned around and gave her a smirk.
"Good to see you Andrea, been a long time." She said to Andy with a smirk.
Andy scoffed and shook her head, "Good, you're okay. Now, if you excuse me, I have to go back to my wife!" She said and started to run back to her truck.
She came up to her truck and shook her head, "Unbelievable." She said climbing in and slamming her door shut. She put on her seat belt and started to drive away.
"Everything okay?" Lynn asked putting a hand on Andy's knee.
Andy nodded and covered Lynn's hand with hers, "More than okay. I'm here with you and we're going to have an amazing reception." She kissed the back of Lynn's hand and they were off to the reception. Lynn wanted to ask what happened but she put the question in the back of her mind.
Nothing could bring them down today.
