We Meet Again – Pt. 17
“Mr. Hayes! Is it true you’ve been staying at Daniel’s house for the last week?”
“Mr. Jones! Are you and Darren lovers?”
“Darren! Wasn’t this break unexpected?”
“What does your record lathinthink about the rumors that you and Daniel are lovers?”
“Is Savage Garden being reformed?”
“Why are you here?”
“What do your parents think about the rumors?”
Darren glared, mumbling under his breath, as the barrage continued. He narrowed his gaze as the nurse looked up, realized he was looking at her, and blushed under his stare.
At that moment, he dearly wanted to hurt someone. Demand to know why she had called the press. But he was more concerned about Daniel. He chanced a look back at Daniel. He seemed to be doing well. He stood just behind Paul, who was talking on his cell phone.
Darren turned back toward the reporters, who were still tossing questions without break. He closed his eyes and sighed. Why the hell wasn’t Leonie here? Why couldn’t she just accept him and Daniel?
“All right, everyone clear the hall!”
He opened his eyes and looked up. Hospital security was clearing out the reporters. He swallowed dryly. Waited nervously as he wondered how the hell they were going to get out to his car unhindered.
A man appeared in front of him then, and he belatedly realized the man was not a reporter, and he should pay attention.
He shook his head slightly. “I’m sorry?”
“I wanted to apologize. I’m Brian Fellowes, hospital administrator. I don’t know how this happened, I’m—”
“Ask her.” Darren nodded toward the desk nurse. “She was talking to one of the reporters. She knew who we were when we got here. I’d certainly like to know what her part was.”
Ryan stepped aside then, allowing Paul to exit the room. Daniel moved up to stand behind Darren, as Paul greeted Brian.
“Good to see you again, Brian.”
“Lucky for you I was making night rounds today,” Brian replied.
“Well, I do appreciate you stepping in. I’m sure no one knew of our visit tonight,” Paul indicated Darren, Daniel, himself, and Ryan.
“I can guarantee you we didn’t tell anyone.”
Brian nodded. “I promise you it will be investigated. The problem now is how to get you out.”
“Darren, give your keys to Ryan, explain to him where your car is. He can drive it to your house.” Paul decided. “You and Daniel come with me. Brian, if a few of your security people could walk with us? I’m parked in the staff garage, but there’s no telling if the media has breached security there or not.”
“Sounds like a good plan.” Brian agreed as he radioed for more security.
Darren handed his keys to Ryan. Told him what his BMW looked like, and where he’d parked it.
They started out as soon as the security people arrived.
“Darren, Daniel, why are the two of you together after so long?”
So, they’d even made it to the parking garage.
Darren growled as a camera flashed. He grabbed the camera—probably not the best idea, since the strap was still around the photographer’s neck.
“Why can’t you people leave us alone?”
The photographer fell to his knees, grabbing at the camera strap; as the security people seized the reporter.
Daniel dropped the guitar case, and wrapped his arms around Darren from behind; lifting him up and away from the photographer, who’s breathing quickly returned to normal as the security people reached for him.
“Darren, get hold of yourself! This won’t help!”
Darren struggled in Daniel’s strong grip, cursing and shaking his fist at reporter and cameraman alike. He stopped struggling when security escorted reporter and photographer away--the reporter shouting about lawsuits.
“Yeah? Well, just bite me!” Darren yelled after them.
He turned his head to stare at Daniel, when Daniel started shaking him. Daniel’s arms finally loosened, as he doubled over in laughter.
“What?” Darren demanded angrily.
“You—you—” Daniel broke off as another fit of laughter seized him.
“Daniel…” Darren used his warning tones, seeing nothing funny about their situation.
“Bite me…? You’ve been in the States too long, Darren.”
Daniel laughed again, and moments later, Darren began to laugh too. He laughed harder when he noticed Paul smiling at them.
“Shall we make a break while we can?” Paul suggested.
“Good idea, I think.” Darren nodded, picking up the guitar case, and grabbing Daniel by the arm.
Once in Paul’s car, and away from the hospital, Paul congratulated Daniel on his quick thinking.
“It could have become quite out of control if you hadn’t grabbed Darren.”
Daniel shrugged, a small smile on his face. “Darren’s temper should be well known by now with the media.”
“Perhaps, but the fact that you were able to act can’t be given enough credit. Could you have done it a month ago? Two?”
Quietly, Daniel shook his head, studying his hands.
“You are getting better, Daniel.”
They arrived at Daniel’s house to see Ryan talking with the security people at the gate, and Leonie’s car in the driveway.
Darren groaned. “Like the day hasn’t been bad enough. What the hell does she want?”
“Darren! I’m surprised at you.”
“After what she said to you? And me? How do you expect me to act?”
“Well, at least wait and see what she has to say—”
Eyebrows rose, and then frowned, as Darren stared at Daniel. He grumbled under his breath, then shrugged and nodded.
“Alright,” he replied with a sigh. “I—I’m just afraid to get my hopes up. She’s already done a pretty good job of dashing them.”
Daniel gave him a quick kiss as they got out of Paul’s car.
“Do you want me to stay?” Paul asked as Ryan walked up.
Darren looked at Daniel.
Daniel smiled. “No, I don’t think I do. It’s just Leonie.” He shivered suddenly, and Darren gave a nervous smile.
“Right, just Leonie. Well, we’re used to her. I suppose we won’t be any the worse for wear when she leaves. Now that we have each other to console us after she’s through with us.”
Still grinning, Daniel nodded. “Exactly.”
“I think we’ll see ourselves home, then.” Paul said, as he and Ryan shook their hands. “See you Monday.”
“We’ll be there.” Daniel promised.
They watched while Paul drove off. Each knowing they were delaying the meeting with Leonie. Finally they looked at each other, aware they could put it off no longer.
“Ready?”
“I suppose.”
“What do you think she wants?”
“After the way she left, I don’t think I care.”
“Dazza.”
“I mean it… well… maybe… I guess I’d like to have her back. I do miss her.”
“I thought so. So, let’s go find out before we drive ourselves crazy with ma.”
.”
“Okay.”
Darren sighed as he entered Daniel’s house.
“Leo?” Darren called out cautiously.
“In here,” she called from the kitchen.
Leonie was setting out a plate of chocolate éclairs. The smell of fresh brewed coffee filled the room. A tray of cheese and crackers already sat on the table.
Darren stared at everything, before turning a suspicious look on Leonie. “Just what is going on, Leo?”
She glanced up sheepishly, her eyes darting between Darren and Daniel.
“I—I’m trying to apologize. By bribing you, quite simply,” she looked at the towel she was wringing in her hands. “I’m sorry, Darren, Daniel. I was… I don’t know… I acted unforgivably, I know. But… would you? Please?”
“Just like that?”
She nodded awkwardly. “I know I have to prove myself to you again, but I am really sorry.”
“No one else want your acerbic personality for a P.A.?”
“Darren!”
Darren turned toward Daniel. “Well, Daniel? I’m still upset about what she said when she was here last time. You know how it tore me up!”
Daniel walked up, and put his hands on Darren’s cheeks. Looked at him tenderly. “Yes I do. That’s why it’s important for you to forgive her. You’ve known her longer than you’ve known me, Dazza. Don’t you think that friendship deserves a second chance?”
They stared at each other for long minutes. Finally Darren nodded. “Yes. You know I want to.”
Daniel leaned down, and kissed him tenderly. He moaned, then blushed as he quickly looked at Leonie.
Her mouth was open. Then she closed it, bestowing them with a quirky smile.
“I-um… I guess congratulations are in order.”
Darren smiled then. Leonie walked up, and he hugged her.
“Thank you, Leo,” he whispered huskily; afraid he was going to cry any moment.
She kissed Darren on the cheek, and then hugged Daniel, too.
“So what say we sit and relax. I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve called your folks to come over. I want to discuss our options, now that it’s been on the radio you were seen together at Prince Charles Hospital.”
“Already?” Darren groaned.
Leonie nodded. “You have told your folks, right?”
“I told mine, Leo. We haven’t exactly told Darren’s, yet.”
“But I’m sure my Mum won’t be surprised… I doubt my Dad will be, either, knowing my Mum.”
They all chuckled at that.
“So, are you planning on confirming what Michelle started?”
“Soon, but not yet,” Darren replied. “Not till Daniel’s ready.”
Leonie looked at Daniel.
“I’m doing a lot better, Leo. This positive reinforcement training is amazing.”
“What happened to your wrists, Daniel?”
A ripe tomato would not have been any redder than Daniel at that point.
And the way Leonie’s eyes bulged, Darren couldn’t help but laugh. Soon Leo and Daniel were laughing too.
She shook her head. “I would never have figured you for a sub, Daniel.”
He blushed again.
“Quiet, yes, but a sub?” She grinned evilly. “Well, I promise I won’t bring it up again. Unless your folks do.”
Daniel groaned quietly.
“Don’t worry, Danny. When I’m through, your parents will never know. Come on.”
Darren stood up and grabbed Daniel’s hand.
“Don’t you want coffee first?”
“Nope.” Darren replied shortly. But he did grab an éclair as they left the kitchen.
“You two better be quiet up there!”
Darren smothered a giggle behind his hand, as he and Daniel ran up the stairs.
In the bedroom, Darren locked the door.
“Just to be safe,” he grinned. Then he held the éclair up to Daniel’s lips.
Daniel’s lips curved as his eyes darkened. He opened his mouth, and Darren moved the sweet treat closer.
Teasingly rubbed the end of it over Daniel’s sensuous lips, before slipping the end into his mouth.
Darren’s own mouth opened as he slid the end into Daniel’s mouth. Looking much like a mother encouraging her child to accept the spoon.
Daniel closed his eyes as he bit into the chocolaty sweet.
Some of the filling spilled onto his lower lip and chin. Before he could stick his tongue out, Darren was licking his chin, sucking on his lower lip, and then thrusting his tongue into Daniel’s mouth.
Daniel moaned and shivered involuntarily.
“I thought maybe… I owed you for this morning.”
They moved toward the bed, Daniel tearing his shirt off as they went.
They stopped beside the bed. Darren set the éclair on the nightstand. The bedroom seemed to be getting quite a bit hotter.
He pulled his shirt over his head, and tossed it aside. Then Daniel’s fingers were at his jeans, undoing the button, lowering the zipper even as his fingers brushed firmly against Darren’s arousal. A heated smile at the reaction his touch caused.
His fingers moved quickly to Daniel’s jeans, and soon both were gazing hungrily at each other.
Darren grabbed Daniel, spun him and pushed him back onto the bed. Falling on top of him. Daniel grunted as Darren’s mouth captured his in an impassioned kiss. Groaned into his mouth.
When they broke for air, Darren reached over to pick up the sticky offering again. Smiling, he brought it up to Daniel’s lips again. Mimicked his earlier actions completely and was soon running his tongue over Daniel’s lips. His strong jaw. Sucked on the lobe of his ear. Felt the rumble of Daniel’s deep moan as he moved his lips to suck at the sensitive spot in the curve of his neck.
He fed another bite to Daniel, then moved his lips down to Daniel’s chest. His tongue traced the outline of each rib as Daniel whimpered and wriggled. Ran his fingers through Darren’s hair, tangling them in the sweaty strands.
After covering Daniel’s chest in glistening liquid, Darren slid back up, the touch of their groins causing both to moan lightly.
Taking the last bit of éclair in his own mouth, Darren offered it to Daniel.
Daniel raised his head, his lips touching Darren’s, a tingle rushing through his body as they shared the last of the treat. He pulled Darren to him, as their kiss deepened.
Then it was Darren’s turn to gasp in surprise, as Daniel rolled him over; ending with Daniel on top, grinding their hips together as he did so.
“Ohhh…”
“I want… to make love… to you… Dazza,” Daniel breathed in-between a flurry of kisses to Darren’s face, neck and shoulders.
Darren rolled his hips, and was rewarded with a moan from Daniel; retaliated by kissing and licking along Darren’s collarbone. Twirling his tongue in the dip, then latching onto one of Darren’s nipples.
“Oh, god!” Darren screamed as he bucked wildly.
Daniel held firmly, teasing mercilessly.
“Ahh… oh… Da—Danny… st-stop… no… oh god…!”
“Tell me…”
He moved to Darren’s other nipple. Hanging on as Darren’s movements became wilder. Groaned loudly at the heat building between them.
“Please… god, Danny… Danny… please… I need you… now… please!”
Daniel reached into the bedside drawer for the lube, nearly losing his place on the bed as Darren’s back arched suddenly.
Squeezing lube onto his fingers, Daniel quickly, but gently prepared Darren, smiling as the Diva suddenly became incoherent--moaning, and whimpering, tossing his head side-to-side.
Daniel couldn’t stop the deep moan that reverberated through his chest at that moment.
Darren pulled Daniel to him, and they kissed again, as the sweat and passion quickly built between them.
Soon, the sounds of harsh breathing… panting… soft moans… filled the room.
Grew louder.
Ended with high-pitched cries of ecstasy.
As they fought for breath.
Struggled to return to earth.
Leonie’s voice sounded from outside the door.
“Darren? Daniel? Your parents are here!”
