“This,” said James pointing at the dress that now lay on the kitchen table, “Is not an obsessed fan, this is beyond obsessed.”
“Whatever it is, it scared the crap out of Charlie, and me” Jason rubbed his chin thinking about Charlotte who was still sleeping upstairs.
“Well, this is out of my reach too. You need to get the police involved mate, I cannot protect you from people who are this disturbed man.”
“D’you really think I oughta get the police involved?” Jason whispered a little heated.
“Mate, do you really think this is a burn hole?” James asked, his dark eyes squeezed to little black marbles.
Jason felt the look of disbelief wash over his face.
“Whatever it is,” James quickly moved on seeing the shock in Jason’s body, “It is a warning, I don’t know what for but you might wanna look for another place to stay for a while. And I don’t wanna blow my own horn, but it could be wise to hire me and Paul again, just for the time being.”
Jason nodded.
“You get Paul on the phone, I’ll call the police,” James kept his head straight, “It might be wise to have my name on the statement and not yours, else it’ll be all over the papers by tonight.”
Jason sighed and reached for his phone.

Charlotte sat at the kitchen table in Dawn and Gary’s house, Daniel was playing outside on his new trampoline and Charlotte couldn’t help but smile every time his little head appeared through the kitchen window, Emily was sitting in the kitchen too, making drawings at her own desk and softly humming an unidentified tune.
Jason and James were talking to the police at Jason’s house after Jason had dropped her off at Gary’s. After his little chat with James, Jason had woken her up and told her what James had said and he’d shown her the dress. Charlotte was so terrified she wanted to leave the house immediately. She had phoned Dawn who had instantly invited the both of them into her house for as long as they wanted.
“Honey, you can stay here for as long as you like,” Dawn told Charlotte while handing her a mug of hot tea.
“Cheers,” Charlotte cupped her hands around the warmth. She still felt a little uncomfortable invading in their privacy like that. Dawn felt that too.
“It’ll be great to have each other around the house, with all these big Take That plans coming up, believe me you need to get a job inside the Take That factory to see your man once in a while. At least we’ll have each other.”
“I really wanted to enjoy this with Jason, you know, he’s really insecure about all this but I know he’ll love it once things get going. He already started dancing again.”
“Me too,” Dawn grinned.
Charlotte sighed, “This was supposed to be a happy time, now I feel like a hunted animal.”
“The police will find out pretty soon who’s responsible for this and then it’ll all be over, don’t you worry,” Dawn sipped from her tea.
“Mummy?” Emily stood next to Dawn, her big blue eyes shining across the kitchen table.
“Yes love?” Dawn picked her up and cuddled her into her lap.
“Is Charlie not happy?”
Charlotte quickly wiped away her tears.
“Yes auntie Charlie is a little sad, that’s why she’ll stay with us for a little while.” Dawn explained the little girl.
“Uncle Jay too?”
“Yes uncle Jay will come too.”
Emily looked at Charlotte for a moment and then wriggled out of her mothers cuddle and went over to her little desk where she had been drawing minutes earlier. She picked up a piece of paper where she’d drawn on and walked over the Charlotte, handing her the drawing.
“I actually made it for mummy, but you can have it if you want to.” She said with a comforting voice and Charlotte took the paper overwhelmed by her sweetness.
“You are too cute,” Charlotte smiled and kissed Emily on her head. Emily beamed and then hopped through kitchen to go outside and minutes later Dawn and Charlotte sat in the kitchen enjoying their tea and listening to the loud giggles of Emily and the excited screams of Daniel outside.

The first couple of nights, Charlotte slept bad. She relived everything in her dreams during the nights, had a hard time falling asleep and felt like a wreck when waking up. Dawn forced her to take a few days of from work so she could calm down a little. After that, things went better. The kids loved having her around the house to play games with and Charlotte adored them. As Dawn had predicted, Gary and Jason and the other lads were incredibly busy. Charlotte was amazed by all the work that had to be done before they could even announce their tour.
After the announcement their lives had changed significantly. The train that was called Take That was picking up speed again after being stationed for a long time. Interviews, pictures and fans came back into their lives. Fame was most difficult for Jason who had always enjoyed his work but found it hard to cope with the adoration, especially with the recent events around his house and his girlfriend he was suspicious as hell and thought every fan was a nutcase.
Gary was insecure too, he had been slashed in the press ten years ago and now here he was again back in the spotlights. What if the press would rip them apart again? True, the reviews for the documentary had been splendid but still…a comeback tour was something completely different. He did enjoy their renewed cooperation though, and found new inspiration for songs, songs that looked remarkably like material Take That could have sung. He kept it to himself for now though.
Howard noticed the change during his DJ gigs, all of a sudden there were more girls at the venues. Giggling girls that looked like they would never go to the sort of events he played, they came just to see him. Take That fans were still everywhere as if they had been hibernating. He loved the respect he now received when talking to people in the music business. Ten years ago they had been popular but were not taken very seriously, this time people wanted to hear their story and England seemed to be proud to have one of their biggest entertainment bands back for a little while.
Mark loved the whole thing, he was enjoying the media attention, the fans the whole package. He’d already spent a couple of nights with Gary, talking about maybe trying to write some songs together. Gary hadn’t told him, but Mark knew that Gary was already writing music and had written some choruses and verses to new songs. Mark was also writing but was still too insecure to show his new stuff to Gary, even though Gary had admitted to Mark that he loved his solo albums. Mark hoped that Take That was going to do more than just this comeback tour but he hadn’t yet talked about that.

“..and five, six, seven and turn!” Dawn pushed Gary’s right hip into the direction he was supposed to turn, Gary’s mind wanted his body to turn the other way around and so again he messed up the routine.
“Again,” said Dawn earnestly and she started counting again. Gary looked sweaty but determined. He hated learning new routines, actually he hated routines period. He did the routine five, six times again each time it got a little better but it still wasn’t looking like how Jason and Howard did it. At the other end of the rehearsal room Mark was having the same problems, he too looked sweaty and about to give up. Mark looked at Gary who was trying his very hardest.
“She’s drilling you mate,” Mark laughed when Gary made eye contact.
Gary wiped his forehead, “Nah, she’ll only let me practise with the hot Spanish chick when I know the routine back to front.”
Everybody laughed because they knew it was a joke intended for Howard. Howard had been practising his routines in advance because he didn’t want to look like a fool once he had to start practising with the tango dancer.
“Shut up you losers,” Howard said but he laughed the loudest.
“That’s enough for now,” Kim Gavin turned off the music and Mark and Gary both gulped down some water.
“Lads you have auditions for the band in an hour and a half or so, Milton and Mike are already here so take a shower and we’ll have a quick lunch and select some people for the live band ok?” Everybody nodded and they all headed to the shower cubicles at the end of the room.
Rehearsal were going pretty well, even though it was still very early and even too early to start proper rehearsals, the lads had all decided that they wanted to do things right. A too late start might mean early injuries and they all had been out of the game for a long time. They were now going over the old routines and just started on an idea Howard had, to turn It Only Takes A Minute into a Tango. They’d already recruited a tango dancer.
Their creative juices were full flowing, even more so after their short visit to Vegas. Jason didn’t really wanted to go because he didn’t want to leave Charlotte alone at home. Dawn convinced him she wasn’t alone at home and reluctantly he did go in the end. They had seen massive shows, Mark and Howard had forced Jason and Gary to go see Celine Dion which Gary hated, Gary insisted on seeing Cirque du Soleil which Howard hated because he thought clowns were freaks but in the end they had seen lots of new stage techniques and possibilities and they even got closer together as a band.
Dawn saw Gary’s twinkling eyes as he slid in the shower cubicle with her.
“Dear God,” she rolled her eyes, “How old are you?” but she did smile as he turned on the water and quickly pulled his sweaty shirt over his head.
“Why? I’m only taking a shower with my wife,” he said innocently and before she could protest he’d pulled her underneath the running water, still wearing all of her clothes.
“Gary!” she shrieked and they heard all the other lads protest loudly of their underwater action.
“You look good,” Dawn whispered as she glanced at Gary’s well trained torso.
“You do too,” Gary looked at her blonde wet hair that surrounded her face, the soaking wet pink tank top she was wearing which was now completely see-through. He pulled her in his arms and Dawn took his face in her hands with both of her hands, gently kissing the tip of his nose.
“I’ve got it!” Gary suddenly said as Dawn had finally squeezed herself out of her wet clothing and had started to rub shampoo in his short hair.
“What?”
“We have to build an on stage shower, and do some singing in the rain for Back for Good like we did in the video,” Gary looked like a little kid who’d just found a way to fly to the moon.
“Did I just hear you think of a grand idea while you are naked in the shower with your wife?”
Howard’s voice echoed through the shower cubicles.
“Stop eavesdropping you dirty pig,” Gary shouted back.
“I’m just amazed by your thought process mate,” Howard replied.
Mark’s rippling laughter filled the air.

Jason felt his phone vibrate for the third time in his pocket and started shifting nervously on his seat. The lads were sitting next to him on one site, and Milton, Mike and Kim sat on the other site, in front of them a drummer was showing his stuff as he was auditioning for a position in the Take That live band.
“Excuse me,” Jason whispered as he was desperately worried about who was calling him. He knew it was Charlotte somehow. Everybody knew of what had happened and even though everybody had said that it was just a one off crazy thing, they were all worried that it might not be.
As he walked out of the room, he saw on his phone display that it was indeed Charlotte.
“Love?” he answered the phone.
“Hi sweety,” he heard her calm voice and knew she was alright.
“You ok?” he asked anyway.
“Yeah, everything’s fine. Look, I’m going round our house with your brother to pick up some stuff I really need. D’you want me to bring you anything you’ve left there?”
“No, I’m alright. Charlie?”
“Yes?”
“Be careful, right.”
“I will, Justin is with me nothing can happen.”
“See you later then.”
“Love you.”

Charlotte enjoyed the warm sun behind the window of the car. It was cold outside but the sun was doing her best to make the earth a little warmer.
“Must be strange to be there in a minute don’t you think?” Justin turned the car into the street where Charlotte and Jason had their home.
“I wonder if we didn’t overreact a little, I mean yes I was scared to death but it seems like it was a random act of madness.” Charlotte put on her sunglasses as they arrived.
“I don’t think you overreacted, you can never be too careful these days. Someone was in your house, why would anybody do that?”
Charlotte sighed and didn’t know the answer to that question. She’d gone over the whole story in her head thousands of times and had never been able to come up with an explanation for it.
They entered the house and Justin watched Charlotte as she collected some books that were lying around the living room. The house was quiet and they both felt like visitors in it.
“I’m going upstairs to get some clothes and then we can leave, I don’t wane stay here long.”
Charlotte walked up the stairs and Justin sat on the couch.
She picked out some clothes and put them in a bag. Charlotte looked around their bedroom and felt a little sad. Deep down inside, she knew that they would never return to this house to live in it again, she would never feel safe here again.
She picked up the photo that stood on the bedside table on Jason’s side. It was a framed photo of the two of them, taken in the hotel that they had stayed in for a weekend break. During that weekend they both had realised that they were really very much in love with each other. On the photo, Jason was wearing his favourite huge sunglasses but his big smile gave his face a happy expression, Charlotte’s lips were pressed against his cheek and even with her eyes closed you could tell from her face that she was having the time of her life.
Charlotte smiled at the picture and carefully placed it on top of her clothes in her bag.
Justin still sat on the couch as he listened to Charlotte packing her stuff in the bedroom. He looked around his brothers house and felt a bit of an intruder. He and Jason had a close bond, being twins that was not an uncommon thing, but because Jason had not been there very often when he was younger ever since the Take That split they had gotten even closer together. He was glad he got along with Charlotte too. He’d never much liked the girls that Jason had brought home, they were either a little stuck up or more interested in Jason for his money than anything else.
He heard Charlotte coming down the stairs and stood up to walk to the door, when he opened it a strange beep caught his attention. He looked around in surprise over at the alarm system. Hadn’t Charlotte turned it off when they had entered the house?
Then he noticed something strange, the green light of the alarm that should be indicating that the alarm was off wasn’t showing up. Neither was it red, like it would be when the alarm would be switched on. Normally this would mean that there was no power, but the lights in the hall were most definitely on. As he got closer to the alarm he suddenly saw the small white wire that was connected to the alarm, leading back to the door. Obviously with opening that door, he had put something into operation. When he had traced the wire back all the way to the meter cupboard he knew something was awfully wrong.
“Charlotte!” was all he could say because a second later the huge explosion pushed all of the air out of his lungs and the pressure that was released from the meter cupboard sent him flying against the wall where he collapsed on the floor and just before he slipped into unconsciousness he felt the bones in his arms and ribs snap from the blow.
Charlotte felt the heat of the explosion roll over her like a wave and the smell of burned hair filled her nostrils. Instinctively, she ducked down to avoid the heat. Fear filled her veins when she saw Justin’s body falling down on the ground, his arm in a weird angle and his face twisted in a grimace of pain. A rain of glass from the window behind her, which was blown to pieces, came falling down on her back and it was the pain that brought her back from having a panic attack. She crawled down the stairs on hands and knees, the glass pieces cutting into her flesh and when she finally reached the floor she felt something warm and liquid run over her face, she touched her eyebrow and saw her fingers were red with her own blood. She had to reach Justin and bring him to safety but there was no way she would be able to leave the house through the front door. Still crawling, she sobbed out loud “Come on, Come on!” The air she breathed was lacking oxygen and she could tell from her shaking limbs and the blackness that appeared before her eyes every other second that she was choking on thick smoke that had filled the house.
“Justin,” her own voice sounded funny and she started coughing.
Justin didn’t move and so she pulled him up underneath his arm pits and dragged his body away from the door towards the patio doors in the living room. Because she had trouble breathing, within seconds she was worn out and had to let go of Justin. She crashed down onto the floor besides him and lost all sense of orientation. The room seemed to dance around her and black spots were everywhere. Her brain told her to breath but as she opened her mouth wider and wider, there was nothing to breath in but smoke. A raging panic spread through her body and she felt her eyes bulging, her heartbeat rising and then there was nothing but blackness.
