The media had already gotten a few photos of our kids, but Chris and I tried to keep them out of the spotlight as much as possible. However, I had a new album coming out, and I had an appearance on Leno. I thought it would be nice to bring the kids along to see their dada in action. I brought the idea up to Chris the day before we were to fly out.
“I don’t know. You want them on the show?” Chris asked. “I’m not sure I want fans, photographers, and who not all over them. Bliss gets scared easily, and I’m not even sure Colin would appreciate all that attention.”
“I’m not talking about on air. I’m just talking about bringing them along, and letting them see their dada perform.”
Chris sighed. “I still don’t know.”
“Come on. We’re all flying out to Burbank anyway. You guys might as well come to the show to support me. I want you there besides.” I took Chris’ hand in my own and kissed it, looking at him in the way I knew he could never resist.
He smiled. “I suppose it wouldn’t hurt. But we cut out right after. I don’t want our children being swarmed.”
“Deal,” I agreed. “I can hardly wait!” I clapped my hands together. “It’s going to be so nice having you three there to support me.”
“We don’t have to be there to support you. You know I’m always going to support you whether I’m there or not,” he said.
I nodded. “I know. That is one of the many things I love about you.”
“I don’t want to hold you back, but you haven’t changed your mind about the small club tour, have you? I know it’s selfish, but I just don’t want to see you off for four months, traveling outside of the country. I’d miss you too much, and it’s not good for the twins to be on tour all the time—especially at only three,” he said.
I shook my head. “Don’t worry. You and the twins are my number one priority. I’m still only doing a twenty-eight date tour, and it’s at small clubs. I’m doing Canada, but that is the only out of the sates gig I’m doing, so don’t worry, baby. You’re not holding me back. I want to be back with you and the twins. You guys make me the happiest. I just wanted to get my music out there a bit, and this will do just that. After a month and three weeks, I’ll be done with the tour, and all yours again, baby.”
He grinned. “Then it’s my turn to put an album out. I promise not to do a long tour either.”
“Well, good, because I’d be lost without you.” I walked over to him, and sat down on his lap.
“Ugh! You need to get to the gym before that tour,” he teased.
The twins laughed at this. Since they were now three, they were able to feed themselves. Right now, they were enjoying their bowls of Cheerios.
“Shut up and kiss me now while you still can. When the kids get older, they’re going to find it disgusting when their parents kiss in front of them,” I said.
“Well then, I had better get all the kisses in that I can get, hm?” Chris asked.
“I guess so,” I agreed, my eyes lowering.
We kissed, and Bliss giggled. “Daddy and Dada kiss.”
Colin started ming kissing noises, and Bliss followed suit.
Chris and I broke the kiss, and grinned at our kids.
“I still say they are going to be geniuses. They’re so smart for their age,” I said.
Chris nodded. “They really are. They even learned to go potty on the toilet pretty quickly.”
I smirked. “Well, it did take us ten tries, and Colin did partially pee in Sanjaya’s mouth. He’s definitely my son.”
Chris rolled his eyes. “He’s our son. Still, ten tries is pretty good. It wasn’t his fault when he peed in Sanjaya's mouth. Sanjaya and Sligh were the ones too dumb to know what a protector shield was. Gina told us both twins did go in the toilet that night. I’m just gad you and I were able to get the twins to always go in the toilet instead of in both the toilet and their diapers. Can you imagine if we still had to change their diapers?”
I made a face. “I think I’d hire a diaper changer.”
Again, Chris rolled his eyes, but he smiled nonetheless, and kissed me one more time.
Both twins giggled this time, and made the kissing noises again.
Chris and I broke apart, and laughed with our twins. We made kissing faces back at them and they laughed even harder.
I got up out of Chris’ lap, and headed over to Bliss. She had gotten really attached to me, as Colin had gotten attached to Chris.
“All right, let’s get the rest of your cereal into you, you sillies,” Chris said, walking over to Colin.
Our twins smiled at us, and we smiled back at them as we fed them the rest of their breakfast.

It was the twin’s first plane ride. Bliss seemed to be a little scared, and was clinging to Blake for dear life. She had screamed when we tried to put her by the window seat, so we had given her an aisle seat, while Blake took the window seat. She had sat in his lap for a lot of the trip, but now that we were landing, she had to remain buckled in her own seat. Still, she was leaning over the best she could with the arm of the seat between them.
Blake held her hand in his and stroked her hair. “It’s all right. We’re landing now. We’ll soon be on the ground,” he assured her.
Colin, on the other hand, was a different story. He was fascinated with the plane.
“Oo…” Colin said with awe as he put his hands on the plane’s window. He peered out, looking down below as cars passed by on the road below. “Cars, Daddy! Look at cars!” He pointed.
I smiled, and peered over his shoulder. “Yes, they look like the ones you play with since we’re up so high, but they are actually the size of the cars dada and daddy drive,” I told him.
He sat back down and smiled. “No!” he said, as if he didn’t believe it.
“Yeah!” I said,
He laughed, and looked again. His seat belt was protesting.
“Come on, baby. You have to sit now, okay? We’ll be landing soon.” I gently pushed him back down into his seat.
“Okay, Daddy. I sorry.” He sat forward in his seat.
I smiled, and leaned over and kissed his head. “You’re such a good boy.” I stroked his blonde locks. The older he got, the more he really did look like Blake’s little Mini Me. In fact, he currently had a blue shirt on that said Mini Me in white lettering. Blake had found it at the mall, and bought it on the spot.
Once we landed, and got off the plane, Bliss was in better spirits. She was laughing, and rolling her own suit case along. It was light pink with dark pink crowns all over it. We had both her name and “Daddy and Dada’s princess” stitched in it in dark pink. She loved it!
For Colin, he had a dark blue suite case with green turtles all over it. We had his name and “Future beat-boxer” stitched in green on it. We didn’t know what else to put on it. Blake insisted that we get future beat-boxer put on it because he was going to teach Colin to beat-box once he was old enough to learn. I thought it was cute. Colin really was going to be a mini version of Blake.
Colin chased after his sister with his suit case, and Blake and I had to run to catch up to them.
“Hold on, guys! Daddy and I have to get the rest of our suit cases!” Blake called after them.
The twins currently had their carry on bags.
Blake caught Bliss, and tickled her ribs. She giggled. “You can run fast for a three-year-old.” He picked her up and kissed her cheek.
I caught Colin, and picked him up. “No running. Daddy doesn’t want to lose you.” I kissed his cheek. “You hungry?”
Colin nodded.
“All right, then be good and stay with Daddy and dada, all right? After we get situated in our hotel, we’ll go get dinner.” I set Colin back down, and he hugged my legs. “Okay, Daddy. I love you.”
I stroked his hair. “I love you too, baby. Very much!”
Colin continued to hug my legs for a moment, and I rubbed his back a couple times.
“All right, let’s go,” I said.
Colin let go of me, and walked by my side. Blake was on my other side, and Bliss was on his other side, walking slower now like Colin was.
Blake put his arm around me. “You’re such a good father.” He rested his head on my shoulder.
I smiled. “You’re a good father too.” I kissed his cheek, and then we headed to the luggage carousel. I couldn’t help but feel as if I were the luckiest man on earth. To me, I was.

The next day, we arrived at Jay Leno. We kept the kids close by our sides, for we didn’t want them running off again.
I was a little nervous. I mean, if anything went wrong, and the kids got swarmed by paparazzi, it was on my hands. It was my idea for the kids to come along, after all. However, the media had been respectful of us so far, and I knew that especially in the studio, things should be all right. I was sure NBC studios wouldn't have disrespectful workers on staff.
I soon found that I didn’t have to worry. The workers were really nice. It started with wardrobe.
“Aw! Are these your twins?” Cassy, the lady in charge of my wardrobe asked as I came into the room holding Colin’s hand with Chris by my side, holding Bliss.
I nodded and grinned. “Yep! This is Colin, and my husband is holding Bliss.” I was so proud to be showing them off!
“Well, hey there!” she said to the twins. She turned to me. “Is it okay if I give them both a lollypop?” she looked at Chris too.
Chris set Bliss down. “Sure!”
I nodded. “Yeah, Chris and I aren’t those kind of parents who won’t let their kids have soda or sweets. They’re only kids once. We figure, why not let them enjoy their childhood?”
“Do you two want lollypops?” Cassy asked the twins. She took out a coffee canister that had been converted into a lollypop holder.
Bliss and Colin smiled, and ran over to her.
She laughed. “I’ll take that as a yes.” She held the canister down to them, and let them pick.
Colin picked a green one, and Bliss picked a purple one.
“What do you say?” I asked them.
“Thank you,” Colin said.
“Thank oo,” Bliss said, still not quite grasping the concept of the “y” sound.
“You’re very welcome,” Cassy said, leaning down to their level. She stood back up. “They are so cute!”
Chris and I both grinned and told her thank you.
As Cassy started holding up outfits to me to see what I looked best in, another lady came over to us.
“Hey, guys. My name is Francheska. I was a big fan of both of you when you were on American Idol, and now I love your original stuff too. You guys are great.”
Chris and I both blushed, and thanked her.
“We all pulled straws to see who got to do your hair, Blake. Skyler won. However, anyone has dibs on the kids. Could I do your daughter’s hair just for fun? I can make her look like a princess.” Francheska winked at Bliss.
“Uh oh. You said he magic word,” I said.
Chris’ face was already lighting up, as was Bliss’. Bliss knew that word. Chris had drilled it into her head.
“Sure!” Chris said. He got down on his knees in front of Bliss. “Do you want this lady to make you up like a princess?”
Bliss giggled. “Princess! I wanna be princess!” She clapped her hands together repeatedly.
Chris chuckled, and stood back up. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
Fracheska clapped her hands together as well. “Excellent! Colin can come too. I’m sure Gregory would love to do his hair.”
“Do you mind if I go with them?” Chris asked me.
I shook my head. “Not at all. Go get them made up, and we can meet back here before I go on.”
Chris kissed me. “I love you. I’ll be back.”
I kissed him back. “I love you too, and you better.”
Chris left then, and I turned my attention back to Cassy.
She smiled as she held up a plaid vest to me. “I can tell you two really love each other.”
I watched as Chris helped Bliss sit in a chair a few yards away. I smiled to myself. “We really do,” I said in all honestly. We really, really, do.
B∞C
“You’re going to look so pretty by the time she gets done with you, Bliss!” I told Bliss.
We had her chair turned sideways so that she wouldn’t be able to see herself in the mirror until Francheska was done.
“I look like princess!” Bliss said, excitedly.
I nodded. “Yeah! You’ll look just like a princess.”
“I even have a tiara for her that I snatched from wardrobe. When I’m done with her hair, I can put a little makeup on her, and maybe even find her an outfit from wardrobe. We can find something that fits here. Here at NBC studios, we are always prepared. We have outfits of all kinds and all sizes,” Francheska stated.
“Well, just don’t put too much makeup on her. She is only three, and I hadn’t planned on her wearing makeup until she is at least thirteen,” I said. I didn’t want Bliss growing up before it was time to. Plus, I have seen a lot of mothers in the past who would doll their daughters up at a young age, or put them in beauty pageants. The daughters would turn out to be trophies more than children, or, worse yet, slutty. I was certainly not going to let that happen to Bliss!
“Don’t worry. She already has flawless skin. I’m just going to put a tiny bit on her—light colored blush, some pink eye shadow, eye glitter, and a light pink lipstick with clear gloss. She’ll look naturally beautiful,” Francheska assured me.
I sighed. “All right. I guessed that wasn’t too bad. Even so, this was going to be the last time until she was a teenager that Blake’s and my daughter wore makeup!
I glanced over at Colin on the other side of me. Gregory was spiking Colin’s hair. He grinned at me, when he saw me watching. “I’m going to make him look just like your husband. Cassy is dressing Blake in an outfit that was worn by some soap opera character, I forget who. Anyway, the character had a son, and there was an episode where they dressed in the same outfit. The son was a year older than Colin, but we can make the outfit fit Colin.”
I smiled. “So, Blake and Colin will be wearing the same thing?”
Gregory nodded. “Yep! And I’m going to style Colin’s hair the same way Skyler plans to style Blake’s hair. I’m putting the same makeup on Colin that Blake is getting too. But don’t worry. Obviously it will look like he isn’t wearing any makeup at all since he is a guy. Well, boy.”
I nodded. I was looking forward to seeing how that turned out. Colin was going to look so cute just as Bliss was going to look so beautiful. I could hardly wait!
A half hour later, the twins were done. Their makeup and hair was done, and they had their outfits on. They looked adorable.
Bliss had her hair piled on top of her head and curled like a princess’. She had a silver tiara with fake pink jewels in it. She had a lacy, flowing, pink dress, and on her feet were clear heels. The heels were only about an inch, but her shoes looked like Cinderella’s. Her nails were painted bubble gum pink. She was surely my little princess now. She looked so beautiful, and could easily model.
Colin had on a white dress shirt with a blue and green plaid vest over it. He had on creased white dress pants. His dress shirt was untucked. On his feet were navy sandals with no socks. His hair was spiked just like Blake’s. I couldn’t help but shiver when I saw him. It was uncanny how much he looked like Blake did at that age. If I didn’t know any better. I’d say Blake was his blood father.
“Do I look like a princess, Daddy?” Bliss asked me.
I smiled, and took her into my arms. I picked her up and kissed her. “Only the prettiest princess in the whole universe!” I kissed her cheek, and she smiled.
“I love you, Daddy. Oo my prince,” Bliss said to me.
I had tears in my eyes. It was the sweetest thing she had ever said to me. I kissed her cheek. “I’m honored.” I would enjoy being her prince until she grew up and met her real prince. I set her back down.
“She’s so smart. I don’t know of any three year old who has ever said something so smart like that,” Francheska said with awe.
I smiled. “Well, I really enforce her being a princess at home. You know, Daddy’s little princess. She also watches DVDs at home that have princesses and princes in them, so she picks up on it.”
“I see,” Francheska said with a wink. “That’s so adorable.”
I turned to Colin. “And you! You look just like your Dada. He’s going to be so proud!” I picked him up and kissed his cheek as well. “Look, at you. I didn’t think it was possible for you to get any handsomer than you already are, but you did. When you get older, you’re going to have girls all over you.”
Colin just smiled. I knew he couldn’t understand exactly what I was saying, but I knew that he was smart enough to know he was being praised.
“Daddy like?”
“Yes, Daddy love. I love you, and I love how you look,” I said, giving him one more kiss before setting him down.
Colin smiled big, and hugged my legs. “I love you too, Daddy.”
“You have the cutest kids ever,” Gregory commented.
I grinned proudly. “Thank you.”
Just then, Blake came walking down the hallway, and Bliss ran over to him. “Dada, do I look like a princess?”
Blake briefly glanced at her. “Later, sweetie. Dada has to go on TV now.” He walked past her.
Bliss’ little face crumpled. “Dada don’t like my dwess.”
My heart sank. I knew Blake was just in a hurry, but he should have known better than to brush her off. She was only three. I picked her up and kissed her. “Dada loves it. Trust me. He’s just busy right now. He’s going to be on TV! Want to go see him? He’ll see your dress when he is done.”
“Okay,” Bliss said.
So, I took Colin’s hand in my left hand, and Bliss’ hand in my right hand.
Francheska then led us to where we could watch Blake from backstage. There were TVs set up to let us see him.
“Dada!” Colin said excitedly. He reached up to the screen. Blake was displayed on the screen as he talked to Jay.
I smiled, and picked him up, allowing him to touch the screen.
“Dada!” Colin said, laughing, and gently pounding on the screen.
I laughed. He was so cute.
“I go see Dada!” Bliss said.
I turned just in time to see her running out the door and onto the stage.
“No!” I exclaimed. I tied to catch her, but it was too late.
“Uh oh!” Colin said.
I bit my lip. Uh oh was right.

“So, when does the new album come out, Blake?” Jay asked me.
“It comes out one week from today, actually. I start the tour a week after that.”
“Tell us about it,” Jay ordered. “How long is it and where?”
I grinned. “Well, it’s going to be a twenty-eight dates, and it’s just a small club tour within the US. Though, I do have one Canadian date. It will last from July first to August nineteenth. You can look it up on my Website, blakelewisofficial.com.”
“Cool! So, how are you and Chris doing?” Jay asked next.
I smiled. “We’re doing great, thanks for asking.”
Suddenly, I saw Bliss run out from the side door and come running towards me. I panicked for a split second, but then just found it funny. Man, that girl could run! I could definitely see her running track once she was old enough to.
“Dada!” she said when she got to me.
Jay laughed. “And who is this cute little girl?”
“She’s my daughter,” I said proudly. “This is Bliss.” I picked her up, and kissed her cheek. “What are you doing here, sweetie? You’re supposed to be waiting backstage with Daddy.”
“I wanted to show oo princess dress,” she said.
The audience all awed.
“Well, you look beautiful. I know you’re daddy’s princess, but you’re also dada’s princess.” I kissed her cheek.
Bliss smiled, and quickly kissed me on the lips. Then she wrapped her arms around me, and rested her head against my chest.
“She’s a cutie! You’re a lucky man,” Jay said.
I grinned. “Thank you! Yes, I am.”
“Why don’t you come on our, Chris? Bring that adorable son of yours out,” Jay then said.
The audience cheered, and Chris came out, holding Colin’s hand.
Again, the audience cheered.
The stage crew, brought out another chair.
Chris shook Jay’s hand, and then thanked the stage crew for bringing him a chair out. He then sat down in it with Colin.
“So look at this little guy! He’s a mini version of you, Blake!” Jay said.
I grinned as I saw how Colin was dressed exactly like me. He looked just like me. It was scary, yet so adorable!
“How are you doing Chris? Are you happy?” Jay asked Chris.
Chris grinned brightly. “Yes, sir! I am so happy. I have two beautiful kids, and I couldn't ask for a more perfect and beautiful husband.”
I blushed. “I’m the one that has the beautiful perfect husband,” I said.
Chris smiled at me.
“Come on, give him a kiss. You know you want to,” Jay said, to me or Chris, I wasn’t sure.
Chris and I grinned at each other, and then kissed. Of course, we got a loud awe from the audience again.
“So, are you coming out with a new album?” Jay asked Chris.
Chris nodded. “Yes, I am. I am not going to tour until after Blake is done with his tour though. We kind of alternate our schedule for the twins.”
“Well that’s good. It’s good to see you both getting out there, and yet still keeping your priorities straight.” Jay turned to the camera. “Well, we have to cut to a commercial now, but when we come back, Blake Lewis is going to perform his new single, ‘Some Like it Hot.’” He turned back to us. “Thank you Chris and Blake for talking with me, and letting me meet the kids. They are very adorable.”
“Thank you,” I said.
Chris nodded. “Thank you.”
Jay got up and came to us so that we wouldn’t have to disturb the kids. He shook our hands, and said hello to the kids.
The twins loved the attention after all, and I was really glad we had brought them now. Everything had worked out for the best.
B∞C
“Everyone, it’s Blake Lewis with his new hit single, ‘Some like it Hot!’” Jay introduced.
Blake’s band started up and Blake began to sing his song.
I took Colin’s hand in one of my own, and Bliss’ in my other hand. Then, the three of us danced.
Blake grinned at us as he sang. I caught his eye and grinned back.
He winked at me and I blew him a kiss.
He kissed the air in my direction when the guitar solo was on.
I sighed contently, and like I did every day of my life since meeting Blake, I prayed a silent prayer of thanks to God for sending Blake to me.
