“What is wrong with me!” Kelly yelled to herself finding the closest thing to her which was a book and threw it across the room. Carrie finally made it to her car. She got in her car and sat for a couple of minutes. She hit her hands off the steering wheel.

“Dammit!” Carrie yelled hitting the steering wheel once more. She put the car in reverse and slowly made her way down the driveway.

“No! No!” She pulled the car forward and put it back in park. Leaving the car door wide open she rushed to the front door. She didn’t bother knocking she went right in and found Kelly leaning against the counter her head in her hands. Carrie sniffed causing Kelly to look up, she wiped away her tears with one hand.

“Why are you here?”

“Because I have to do this,” Carrie said approaching Kelly, cupping her face capturing Kelly’s lips with hers. Kelly tried to push Carrie away, but she soon found her lips moving with Carrie’s. Carrie’s tongue licked Kelly’s bottom lip asking for an entrance. Kelly opened her mouth allowing her tongue to enter. Kelly wrapped her arms around Carrie’s waist pulling her closer. Carrie moaned into the kiss. Kelly slowly pulled away from the kiss and opened her eyes. She looked at Carrie who still had her eyes closed and moaned at the loss of contact. Carrie slowly opened her eyes. She looked at Kelly, who just looked shocked.

“What was that?” Kelly whispered.

“I’m in love with you. I have been since the day you came to see me when you wanted me to close the door in your face. That’s why I couldn’t because I loved you and still do. And when I saw you at the Dallas stadium for the first time after that I fell in love with you all over again. Especially after what you did for Benny. You are the one Kelly. You are the best, yeah you made a mistake and I’m sorry I kept hanging that over your head. But you are the best for me because you are the best. And I’m not leaving because right now you need all the support you can get and plus you aren’t even in Texas close by your family, so I’m not leaving. I know you still love me and I know that I’m not ready to be in a full relationship yet but I want to work on it with you I need you in my life without you in it I might die. And I know you feel like that too because I heard you when you thought I was asleep a few months ago. It’s up to you Kelly I want you again, but I want to take things really slow,” Carrie paused Kelly had started crying a little while ago. She continued, “I love you Kelly.”

“I don’t want to do this alone,” Kelly cried. “And I want to be with you, but I’m so afraid I’ll hurt you again and I don’t want to. I’m so in love with you that it hurts. I really want this to work because I know that you are the one. But I don’t deserve you. I’m such a mess when it comes to love. I shut everyone out. I leave them behind. I want to let you in Carrie I really do, but then I might get hurt and I’m so afraid.”

“I won’t hurt you.”

“That’s what I said to you and look where we ended up.”

“I love you,” Carrie said.

“Carrie I don’t want you to get hurt again.”

“I love you,” Carrie repeated Kelly cried harder.

“Carrie please I can’t hurt you again.”

“I love you,” Carrie repeated again tears falling from her eyes.

“Carrie…” Kelly cried pleadingly.

“I love you,” Carrie repeated.

“I love you too,” Kelly said giving in. “I love you too so much. I want to take this really slow though. I want you to be able to trust me. I need time to let you in.” Carrie shook her head in agreement. Carrie pulled Kelly into a hug. “I don’t want to fight this whole thing alone.”

“I’m right here and I’m not leaving you,” Carrie said softly. Kelly took both of Carrie’s hands in hers, instead of saying anything Kelly leaned up and gave Carrie a light kiss on the lips. After pulling away Carrie reached up with her right hand and caressed cheek then slowly wiped the tears away. She pushed a few loose strands of hair behind Kelly’s ear, then put her hand on Kelly’s cheek. Kelly placed her hand on top of Carrie’s. Carrie smiled and Kelly returned her smile.

“I love you,” Kelly whispered.

“I love you too,” Carrie whispered back. Kelly never letting go of Carrie’s hand led her up the stairs to her bedroom. Kelly laid down first. Carrie laid down slightly atop Kelly. She put her head on Kelly’s chest so she could listen to her heart beat. Carrie’s right hand slowly started playing with Kelly’s hair as her left hand held Kelly’s right hand. Kelly’s left hand slowly caressed up and down Carrie’s back. An exhausted Kelly finally felt comfortable enough to fall asleep. Carrie realized she was asleep when her hand stilled on her back and her breathing evened. She kept playing with her hair anyway. She watched Kelly sleep. *She looks so beautiful. Like an angel* Carrie thought as her eyes suddenly became heavy and sleep finally overtook her.
