Cured?. I'm really starting to hate myself, not only am I hiding out in the camps offices so I don't have to see her but I'm researching the damn doctor and his voodoo work. And I'm seriously concerning going for it just so I can spend more time with her. Pretending to be straight so she likes me.
I know she's gay, there's no doubt about it but my god is the girl in so much denial. This is so much more than I can take. I need to cave in and bring in the big dogs. I just hope the big dog doesn't drag Carrie out the closet kicking and screaming.
'Ashley?.......'She picks up on ring three.
'Don't Ashley me............'OK she's pissed. 'Your mother has been crying for the last hour because her new daughter in law used to be a stripper..........a very bad stripper..........'
'How do you know she........'
'Because she showed us..........'Ashley screamed so loud I have to pull the phone from my ear.
'She stripped?........'
'On your mothers kitchen table.............' Suddenly my afternoon with Carrie doesn't seem so bad.
'But.........'
'Why, you ask?...........all Jeanne said was so you dance........next thing we know she's on the table kicking the cups out the way and swinging her hair around........' I really try, I bite my lip and cover my mouth but can't help but laugh. 'Her bra whooshed by my head Kelly.........'
'And.....'I try to be serious. 'What did Jason say?.......' I cover my laughing with little coughs.
'I think he wet himself........'
'Oh Ashley.......'I'm laughing hard now and nothing I can do will stop me.
'So how's your girlfriend.......'That stops me.
'The reason I called..............'
'Oh you didn't kiss her?...........oh your mothers going to love this..........'
'What does my mother know?.............' Ashley's such a big mouth.
'She knows your crushing on Carrie.............and yes I was the one who told her..........' I roll my eye at the phone. 'And don't roll your eyes at me..............she likes hearing when you met new girls...........'
'Well this girl isn't going to be one of her favourites.............' I sigh.
'She pushing the doctor on you?..............'
'Apparently he's good............Ashley she's gay............' Damn I should have said a nicer way.
'Yea I caught that.........I'm mean the way she looks at you..............'
'And you didn't think of telling me?...........'Little miss know it all.
'Thought it would be more fun for you to find out on your own.........so......what happened........' She's in gossip mode now.
'She kissed a girl.........when she was sixteen and well lets just say her parents found out and........'
'Send her to the doctor.......'Ashley finished for me. 'Wow.....aren't you in deep........'
'She wants me to go to the doctor.......'
'Kelly.......'There's that tone of voice. 'Your not going to a doctor to cure you of being gay......you.. oh crap........' I can hear mumbling on the other end of the phone.
'Kelly......'Oh crap. 'Cured of being gay........little lady where are you..........'
'Hey mama..........' Ashley big mouthed little know it all.
'What is going on with you..........Ashley tells me your at a camp......what doctor........'I should hang up and never go home again. 'Young lady answer me..........'
'Mama I'm just.........'
'Where are you......'Yep just hang up. 'That's it I'm coming up there...............'damn she hung up. Damn she's coming. Damn.
