Chapter 19: Back To Reality

Ethan woke with a small groan, "Stop breathing so loud," he said with a grumble and pulled his the flap of his sleeping bag over his head.
"Stop talking so loud!" He heard Alex say with a grumble. He removed the flap from his face and sat up. He wanted to take his pillow and smack Alex with it but he decided that it would take too much energy. Also the pounding in his head would get worse. He just closed his eyes, laid back down and rolled over putting his arm on top of someone. He opened his eyes and lifted his head.
He saw David lying on his back with his mouth open and he let out a really loud snore. Which cause Alex to shoot up and he looked over at Ethan. He saw that he had his arm over David and he smirked. He wanted to join in the fun and put his arm around David as well. The two got closer to the sleeping David and they tried to not laugh too loudly.
Andy started a small fire so she could get some of the coffee going. She heard a groan and saw Brian coming out of his tent. She let out a small laugh when she saw him wrapped up in the heated blanket.
"Good morning sunshine," she said as she was pouring a cup of coffee and handed it over to him. He didn't speak just gave her a nod and sat down in one of the lawn chairs. He took a sip and let out a grateful sigh.
"Oh my," he whispered and took another sip. He then looked at Andy and noticed she was in her jeans, a t shirt, her boots, sunglasses, and beanie.
"How are you not cold? It's like eight in the morning."
Andy smiled and looked at him, "Well, the sun's out and it's a beautiful day in the new year." She told him with a smile and checked on the kettle. She heard rustling and saw Angel stumble out of her and Brian's tent.
Her hair was all over the place and Andy tried to hold back her laughter as she watched Angel struggle with her blanket. It seemed she couldn't get it to wrap around her properly. Andy wanted to help but she could tell how angry Angel was getting.
"Piece of shit!"
"What the fuck?!"
"Why can't you function?!" She groaned and grumbled.
Andy and Brian watched Angel struggle for a few more minutes until she was able to wrap the blanket around her. Andy was able to get a better look at her and she bite her lip because Angel's make up was smeared all over her face.
After they counted down last night Alex was the first to pass out. So Andy and David carried him to his tent and made sure he was comfortable. Not too long after that Angel was on the verge of passing out. Brian suggested they go to bed and Angel refused until he whispered something in her ear. That's when they hurried into their tent.
Ethan and David stumbled over to their tent with their arms around each others shoulders. Andy watched as they struggled to get into their tent. She was about to go over and help them out but they managed to get in. She shook her head and started to clean up around the camp. Just so they could get a head start for the morning. Lynn jumped in and started to help her out.
They didn't speak but every now and then they would look at each other and smile. When all the trash was collected, Andy was putting out the fire and Lynn took the trash to a near by trash can. When she came back over and saw Andy with a flashlight checking over everything.
"What are you doing?" She asked walking up to her.
"Just getting everything ready for the morning. Gotta get the kettle ready, get the firewood by the fire pit but keep it dry, and set up a small trap around the camp site so that nothing disturbs us while we sleep."
"How long will that take?"
Andy looked over everything, "About twenty minutes. Would go faster but Ethan went to bed and I normally have him help me out."
"Just tell me what to do and we can get done faster." She said with a smile.
Andy looked at her, "Are you sure? I understand if you wanna get some sleep." Lynn walked up to her and gave her a kiss.
"Come on teach me how to set up the trap."
Andy smiled and nodded. It didn't take the two of them that long at all. When everything was done they went into their tent and settled in for the night.

"Good morning bed head," Andy said to Angel giving her a cup of coffee.
"Shhhhh, you're too loud." She said taking the cup of coffee from Andy and took a sip. Brian started to rub her back and gave her a gentle kiss on her cheek.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" The three of them heard and they looked in the direction of David, Ethan, and Alex's tent. They saw David stumble out of the tent still in his sleeping bag trying to get away from it. Ethan and Alex came out laughing hysterically putting their arms around each other to help steady one another.
Lynn came rushing out of her tent bright eyed and bushy hair, "What happened?!" She asked with a worried tone.
Andy just pointed in the direction she was looking at. Lynn saw her brother trying to stand up in his sleeping bag. While the two others laughing really hard.
David finally got out of his sleeping bag and rushed towards Alex and Ethan, "I'm gonna KILL YOU!" He said to the both of them.
They both let out a small scream and started to run away from him. David didn't know who to chase first. He stood there for a few more seconds and ran after Alex.
Ethan came up to the group with a big smile but it slowly started to fade. Andy noticed him going a little pale. Andy knew what was coming and she just shook her head. She watched as he seemed to stumble and waddle at the same time far away from them. He hunched over and Andy turned her attention back to the others.
"So much for that." She said pouring three more cups of coffee. David and Alex walking over to them. They too looked pale but not as bad as Ethan.
"Last night come back to bite you in the ass too?" Andy asked with a smirk giving them each a cup of coffee.
"I shouldn't have run." David said sitting down in one of the lawn chairs, resting his head in his other hand as the other was holding a cup of coffee. Alex was doing the same after she gave him his cup. The third was for Ethan when he came back after he relinquished the drinks of last night from his stomach.
Andy shook her head and went back to her tent. Lynn watched as she rummaged around the tent and grabbed a small black bag. She went over to the coolers and grabbed a bottle of water, then walked a few more feet away.
Andy took off her sunglasses and put them on the back of her shirt. A trick she learned from her dad while growing up. She opened up her bag and pulled out her tooth paste and tooth brush, and started the process of brushing her teeth.
While she was off brushing her teeth Lynn was watching her and she was a little startled when she heard Ethan speak.
"She can't drink or eat anything until she brushes her teeth. She's weird like that. Even more weirder, every Sunday morning after she brushes her teeth, she'll have a cup of orange juice first thing." She looked at him and he smiled when he saw her disgusted expression.
Before she could ask Angel spoke up, "Lynn! Did she ask you?!"
"Oh yeah! What did you say?!"
"You better have said yes!"
"If you said no, I beg you to reconsider!"
Ethan smiled and just gave her a wink. They both turned around and she smiled, "She did ask and I did say yes."
"If my head wasn't pounding right now I would stand up and give you a hug." Alex said giving her a small smile. Everyone pretty much agreed and Andy came back over to them. She put her bag back in the tent and smiled when she came up to them.
She gave Lynn a kiss on her cheek and made her way to the camp fire. She looked at everyone and shook her head. She poured herself a cup of coffee and had an idea.
"Okay I know we had a bet, but I feel like I'm the one that's not really hung over. I'll start cleaning all this stuff up, if y'all just wanna gather your things and go to the Jeep."
"I'll help babe." Lynn said coming up next to her and put her arm around her waist.
She smiled and put her arm around her shoulders, "Are you sure? I mean I'll understand if you don't want to."
"You really need to stop asking me if I'm sure all the time."
Andy kissed her forehead and smiled, "I'm sorry it's just habit. I just want you to be comfortable with everything."
Lynn nodded, "We'll get there. We have a long way to go to understand and get to know each other more." They smiled at each other and gave each other a small kiss on the lips. Andy looked around at everyone and smiled.
"As the first day of the new year I would like to propose a toast," Andy said clearing her throat. "Don't worry y'all don't have to get up."
"Oh, thank God." Angel said and Andy chuckled.
"I just wanted to say that even though I had what I like to call my 'diva moments.'"
"Fuck yeah you did." Ethan said.
"Shut up Ethan!" Everyone said and he just laughed along with Andy.
"Some friends would turn their backs on me until I got better. Some would just out right not talk to me for months on end. Besides Ethan who has seen all of my downfalls and flaws y'all stuck by me. I'm not gonna lie I was really scared when I met your families because I honestly don't do well with parents."
"Are you kidding me? My parents LOVE you and Ethan." Brian said leaning back in his lawn chair.
Andy chuckled, "Thank you. Um, I also want to thank you for letting me and Ethan come into your lives. I know we've said this before, how we didn't think we would become this close to our favorite band. Or you become this close to fans. You've inspired me a long time ago and you continue to inspire me. I think I speak for Ethan as well when I say this. We can't wait to go on tour with you. We can't wait to explore these places with you. We can't wait to go on this adventure with you. Here's to you and here's to 2018."
Everyone smiled and raised their coffee cups, "Here, here."
"And I thought I gave great speeches." Alex said with a smile and everyone chuckled. Andy finished her coffee and took off her t- shirt and now she was just in her tank top. Without a word she started to get work on breaking down the camp.
Angel slowly stood up and walked over to Lynn, "Okay seriously, if I wasn't with Brian I would so go lesbian for your girlfriend."
Lynn smiled, "Girlfriend," she said softly looking at Andy. She watched her for a few moments and then her eyes went a little wide.
She grabbed Angel's arm and looked at her, "Oh my God, I have a girlfriend now."
Angel smiled, "Before you leave you and I need to have girl talk."
Lynn nodded, "How about lunch later after all this? I know Andy and Ethan have to do some stuff around the rental home. Plus I woke up to a few texts from my parents. They want to throw a going away dinner for them tonight. They invited everyone. Also Mark said he was gonna stop by their place and give them the low down for the tour. He also said that he has an announcement tonight."
"Sounds good. I'll meet you at your place. Think she'll do something for your birthday?"
Lynn looked back over at Andy and smiled, "She is full of surprises. I'm sure whatever she plans it's going to be amazing." Angel smiled and wrapped her arms around her and hugged her tightly. Lynn returned the hug. She couldn't wait to see where this year would take all of them.

"How much more do you have?" Andy asked Ethan as she came down the stairs with a basket full of clothes.
"On my final load and then I should be good. What else is left to clean?" He asked as he was putting the vacuum cleaner back together.
"Um I think just to check on the Master bedroom and the spare room. I know Angel and Lynn got ready in the Master room that one night. Then Brian and Angel stayed in the spare room."
He put the vacuum cleaner away in the downstairs closet. As Andy put down her basket of clothes by the laundry room near the downstairs bedroom.
"Oh and this room where David and Kara slept and when we had all the camping stuff here."
"What do you think, change the sheets or wash them?"
Andy looked at her watch and started to think about what her and Lynn talked about earlier when they cleaned up the camp. Lynn told her about the going away dinner that her parents wanted to throw her and Ethan.
Andy told her that before anything she and Ethan had to get some stuff done around the rental home. She understood and told Andy to just let her know when she should tell her parents when to start making dinner.
"Andrea?" Ethan said snapping his fingers in front of her face.
"I'm sorry what?" She asked.
He just shook his head, "I wanted to know about the sheets and blankets in the rooms."
" Oh, well how about we change out all the beddings and that way we can wash the ones we used and put them away. I'm gonna call Clark and Maggie to make sure they don't want us to stock up the kitchen again. I know they said don't worry about it but I just want to make sure."
She looked around the living room and waved her hand, "We might as well sleep down here tonight and tomorrow night. Plus we might have a pull an all nighter tonight after the dinner. We're gonna be cutting it close."
Ethan nodded, "Most definitely. Pretty sure we can use the two sleeping bags and sleep on the floor. Oh, and I'm actually done with the washer if you wanna get your clothes started."
"Alright cool, what do you wanna do for lunch? Nothing too heavy though since we're going to Tim and Cathy's tonight." She said walking into the laundry room.
"I think there's a sandwich shop that delivers. I'll check the take out menus." He walked into the kitchen and opened a drawer. He pulled out the stack of take out menus and started to go through them. That's when he heard a knock on the door. He lifted his head and he was confused.
They weren't expecting anybody at this time . He stayed in the kitchen for a few minutes and there was a knocking again, only this time louder. That's when Andy came into his view and mirrored his confused express. She made a move to the door but he put his hand up and he started to walk towards it.
He slowly unlocked the door and opened the door slowly. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw who it was.
He opened the door wide, "You just scared the shit of out us." He said and Andy sighed with relief too when she saw Mark walk inside.
He smiled, "Didn't mean to scare ya. Guess you weren't expecting anybody today?"
"Not really. Well, not until later." Ethan said and Mark nodded.
"Well I just wanted to say I spoke with the label and they are going to put you two on their pay roll. Best part is they didn't really have to question much. I put in a good for you two. So did Kara, Erika, and Melissa." He said with a smile.
"Wow, thank you." Andy said as she and Ethan gave each other a smile and looked back at Mark who was also smiling.
"So when you get back to Virginia just fax over your information. You know, full names, SSNs, birthdays, all that stuff. Gonna need a permanent address from you both as well, for tax purposes. Also you're gonna need your passports. There's talk of us going overseas. Don't know where yet, but there's gonna be some long flights ahead. Also Andy, I hear that in October you're going to be gone for about three weeks."
Andy nodded, "Yeah, I'm going to the Philippines with my family."
Mark nodded, "As of right now we don't have anything going on. If we do we'll get another photographer for the time being until you come back."
"I'll give you the fax number tonight and we'll get you both situated. I wanted to be the first one to say welcome to the team." He said and he shook their hands.
"Thank you, but you know you could've told us this tonight, or over the phone." Ethan said smiling.
"I know, but I got really excited. Also Andy congrats on you and Lynn. She told me this morning."
She smiled, "Thank you."
He nodded, "Also Erika is making a trip down, and Melissa will be there tonight as well, and of course Kara will be joining us. Tim called all three ladies and they all want to be there when I make the announcement. Oh, and Justin will be there as well. He's the touring drummer."
"Wait so the trio doesn't know?" Andy asked.
Mark shook his head, "No, we wanted it to be a surprise. Their families don't even know. All they know is that I've been putting in the paperwork for you both. Like I said we need your information so we can get you on the pay roll right away."
Andy and Ethan nodded as Mark continued, "So the plan is for you two to meet us where we're gonna have rehearsals. Ethan, so you can get used to tuning everything. Andy I'll talk to you about getting used to talking to the fans for the meet and greets. You've been getting a lot attention due to social media. So you'll get recognized a lot. Ethan you're slowing becoming more popular too.
The videos that were taking at your camp out have been getting a lot of views. Since Brian, Lynn, and Angel have tagged you both in some other things. I don't if you noticed on your social medias you've been gaining followers."
"We actually limited our notifications due to work texting us all the time. So the only ones that can reach us are our families, the trio, and Kara. I mean we've posted a few things here and there, but mostly only of us two. Anything that involved the trio I normally ask for permission first." Andy explained again Mark nodded.
"Understandable. We'll go into more detail about that in the next couple of weeks. Lynn is flying out the same day you two are leaving. For her cover shoot then she's going to spend some time with her other friends. Brian will be going overseas for a little while and Alex will be staying home. This is their down time to get away from everything for a while.
I know you two have your big move coming up and you have to get settled. Before you leave you will have my number. I'll send you the date we expect you. Also your plane tickets will be bought. We're gonna be gone from February until the middle of March.
Then there's a break, and we start back up in April until May. With some festivals in between. Lynn's also going to do that announcement in Ohio. Then, overseas for some more shows. It's gonna be a pretty busy year. Are you two up for it?"
It was a lot to take in for them and they looked at each other and nodded.
They smiled at him, "We can't wait." Ethan said and Mark smiled at them.
"You will also meet Lisa she's the band's manager. Think you'll like her, she's a sweetheart. You're going to be meeting a lot of people. From the merch people, to their whole management team, to the guitar techs, to vocal coaches, just everyone. Gonna be a lot of people to remember, but don't worry you'll see them enough to remember their names.
Oh and Andy when you're down there taking pictures gonna need your help with Lynn. I know you've seen the last tour and how she gets into the crowd during the encore."
Andy nodded giving him a little smile. She remembered when she saw Lynn climb onto the barrier and joined the crowd.
"Gonna need your help just kinda watching her and keeping her steady. Don't need anyone trying to grab her or be inappropriate with her. Ethan, might need your help with that too. Just in case. Any questions?"
Andy thought for a minute and she didn't want to have to tell Mark, but he needed to know. "Um, I do. But you might wanna sit down for this." Mark nodded and they walked into the living room and all three sat down.
"What's up?" Ethan stood up and he walked into the kitchen. Andy cleared her throat and looked at Mark.
"Before I leave to go anywhere I have my doctor take a look at me." She started to explain and Mark nodded.
"When we go back she's doing a full work up on me, because she found something wrong with my heart." Ethan came back with three bottles of water and offered one to Mark. He smiled and took it from him giving him a nod.
"What did she say is wrong?" He asked and Andy took a deep breath and started to explain everything.

"I know it's only been like a few hours but how does it feel being in a relationship again?" Angel asked sitting back in her chair. She picked up Lynn at her apartment and they went to lunch like they planned. Lynn smiled and blushed a little. Angel just chuckled at her friend and took a sip of her water.
"I gotta be honest though," Lynn started to say, "When we met at the meet and greet our eyes met for like a moment. Before I asked how they were and in that moment I felt my heart skip a beat. I ignored it at first and then Brian spoke up and I didn't think about it again. But during the show I kept looking for her. Then when I saw them come on the bus and it was her. I couldn't speak to her for while.
So when Lights, Party Nails, and Jordan came on the bus I got distracted with them. But when I heard Andy sing, I was drawn to her. Like a force was pulling to her or something." Angel smiled as she listened to her explain.
"I mean I NEVER thought I would be in a situation like this. Or even feel like this again. That moment on the bus when we hugged I felt this spark. I ignored it and then I felt it again when I put my hand on her leg. My heart was pounding, the butterflies were going, and I was trying to catch my breath. After we sang happy birthday to her, for the longest time it was just her and I. Nothing else mattered.
There we were on top of the tour bus looking at the stars and just talking. Angel, I was so comfortable with her so fast I got scared that I was going to do something stupid."
"But you didn't. You two didn't really have a true first kiss until you left for Europe. You never told me why it took so long."
Their server came by and dropped off their plates of food. They smiled and thanked her. She returned the smile and she said she would be back to check on them in a little bit. They smiled and started to get ready to eat.
"I don't know. I guess because I wasn't really, really, sure how she felt at the time. But I did give her a small kiss after Mary's. She was super sweet and romantic the entire time I was there. She like really attentive and making sure I was comfortable with everything. When she got that phone about work I was so disappointed."
"I remember you telling me that."
Lynn nodded, "But she didn't want me to be alone in a place that I didn't really know. So she called Ethan cause he was with the guys. That's when I knew that she would take care of me some how. Just by making sure I wasn't going be by myself around strangers."
"So do you feel differently with her than you did with you know who?"
Lynn nodded, "Oh, definitely. I don't know what it is just yet, but I'm sure I'll find out soon."
She smiled and Angel returned her smile, "I'm just glad to see you happy again. I mean, you were getting there. Making yourself happy, which is important. To be happy yourself before having someone making you happy ya know?"
"Totally agree."
"You really need to stop smiling right now." Angel said with a chuckle. Lynn put her fork down and leaned back in her chair and shook her head.
She put her hands on her cheeks, "I can't help it! My cheeks hurt so much from smiling!"
The two laughed for a few moments then Lynn's smile disappeared when she saw who walked into the restaurant. Angel turned around to follow her gaze and saw who Lynn was looking at. She turned back around and saw Lynn on her phone no doubt texting Andy.
"Is that?" She started to ask and Lynn nodded.
"How do those two know each other?" Lynn shook her head.
"They only have Andy in common. They both dated her. Do you think.....?"
"But doesn't Andy have them blocked on social media?"
"They could have fake profiles or something."
"I'll call Kara."

Meanwhile back at Andy and Ethan's, they were just finishing up their own lunch. After Andy explained to Mark what was going on with her heart and what her doctor wanted to do, he put in a few calls. Ethan put in an order for them for some sandwiches.
When everything settled Mark explained that Andy should ask her doctor for a list of doctors in the states they are going to visit. Or doctor's offices that she would recommend. Also to copies of whatever her doctor diagnosis her with just so in case anything were to happen they could have it on hand. As well as her medications. Andy nodded and told him that she would get all that information together after her appointment.
They continued to talk about the tour. Mark talked them about what to expect and what to be cautious about. They asked questions, mostly about rest stops and what's it like to be on a tour bus. Mark smiled and just told them that it's hard to explain and that it was something they would have to experience on their own.
It was then Andy heard her phone go off and she checked it. She quickly responded to the text message she received.
She started to clean up from lunch, "Um, we might have to meet Lynn and Angel." She said walking into the kitchen.
Ethan and Mark looked at each other sharing a confused look. They too started to clean up and met Andy in the kitchen. She was typing on her phone and looked at the two of them.
"They're actually going to come here."
"What's going on?" Ethan asked.
Andy sighed and just shook her head, "Well Lynn saw Nicole and Vicki."
"As in together, together?" Ethan asked.
"I don't know. All I know is that as soon as she saw them she wanted to leave. Because she's sure that they somehow saw all of our New Year videos, and pictures. She thinks they might have created fake profiles to see my stuff. But I never add anyone I don't know. I even check if we have mutual friends, and if I do I'll add, but if not there's no way."
"Go through your friends list at some point and clean it out. I'm sure they're getting a hold of Kara too." Mark said and Andy nodded.
"It just never ends does it?" Andy said with a sigh.
Mark gave her a small smile and put his hand on her shoulder, "It's gonna be okay. The first few months are gonna be tough. Your exes are seeing you with some one new. Let alone someone that's a lead singer of band. They're in the 'I can't believe I let her go' phase. It's gonna happen. Plus they're just super jealous that you're with some one that's more attractive than them."
Andy thought about the last thing he said and smiled, "That last part is so true. But you would think it's been nine years since Vicki and what? Two or three since Nicole? I just need them to leave me alone."
"And they will. You just have to keep ignoring them. Don't acknowledge anything they say or do. The black lash is gonna come, but we all know the truth. YOUR truth. They just want their fifteen minutes of fame." Ethan said after he finished doing the dishes.
"Ethan's right. That's all they want. Don't dwell on any of it. Everything is going to be okay. We all know your story and they're going to twist it as far as they can before you break and give in. Don't. The PVRIS fan base is strong and will stick by them no matter what. If we have to I'll talk to Kara and we'll arrange something to put your side out there first, before your exes start anything."
Andy nodded when they heard a knock at the door. Ethan patted Andy on the back and walked out of the kitchen to answer the door. "Put all this shit out of your head and focus on the tour and your new relationship. The positives. Come on, take a deep breath." Mark said and together they both took in a deep breath, "Let it out," together they let it go.
"Let all that negativity out. You're gonna be fine. It's gonna be a big year for them and you're gonna be a part of it. Also be proud on how far you've come with everything you've been through. I don't know your whole story but I know you're an amazing person. Keep being who you are and don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
Mark pulled Andy in for a tight hug and she returned it. They may not know each other that well. But in that moment they both knew that things were going to be okay.
When they let go of each other Andy was almost knocked over and the breath was knocked out of her. She wrapped her arms around Lynn and just held her.
Mark motioned for Ethan, Angel, and Kara to go into the living room. He followed after them. Before he closed the sliding door he caught glimpse of the two women standing in the kitchen just holding each other. He smiled and closed the door. He knew everything would work out in the end.

"Cathy! They're here!" Tim said as he walked towards the front door.
Cathy came rushing out of the kitchen wiping her hands on her apron, "Oh my, I thought they said eight not four!"
Tim opened the front door and smiled when he saw his daughter. He welcomed her with open arms and a kiss on top of her head. When they let go Lynn moved to her mom, as Tim welcomed Andy with a hug. When the greetings were settled he looked at them confused, "Where is everyone else?"
"Oh they're coming later, but Andy and I wanted to talk to the both of you alone first."
"Is everything okay?" Cathy asked with a worried look.
Lynn nodded, "Everything is perfect. We just wanted to clear some of the air before you start hearing things."
Tim nodded, "Alright, let's go into the kitchen. Cathy and I still have some things to prepare for tonight. Andy might need to put some of your skills to the test" He put his arm around Andy. Cathy took hold of Lynn's hand and they all walked into the kitchen.
Lynn sat down at the table and Andy stood by the island counter. Cathy checked on a pot she had on the stove. Tim opened up a cabinet and started to get out the plates and bowls for the night.
"What's going on you two?" Tim asked.
Andy stood straight up and cleared her throat, "I'm sure you've heard that Lynn and I have officially started our relationship."
"Oh yes, David told us. He even told us you asked for his permission to ask Lynn the question I know she was waiting for." Cathy said with a smile and turned around to look at Andy.
"He told us that it was the 'Southerner' in you to ask since he's her brother and all." Lynn looked at her and chuckled when she saw Andy's eyes widen.
"That's what he whispered to me last night at the camp. I thought it was sweet." She told Andy giving her a wink.
Tim chuckled and shook his head, "Is that something you were taught by your dad?"
Andy nodded, "Kind of. I mean growing up I always heard about the 'Southern Gentlemen' and how respectful they can be. Also with my dad's military background and my mom just drilling it into my head about being respectful that's how I learned."
"I really want to meet your parents." Tim said and they gave a small chuckle.
"But now down to some real stuff." Lynn said standing up and walking over to Andy taking her hand in hers.
"What's going on?" Cathy asked with a look of concern. Andy took in a deep breath and let it out. She looked at Lynn first, she gave her an encouraging smile a kiss on the cheek. She smiled at her and then looked at her parents.
"Turns out two of my exes know each other and Lynn saw them today. The two she saw have a history of trying to win me back. But then they would break my heart all over again. They also have ways of twisting words and trying to start rumors about me.
Now that I'm with Lyndsey I can only imagine what these two are going to do. I wanted to come to you both first and tell you that whatever you hear or see would be a twist on things. At least ninety eight percent of what they say are not going to be true. I do not have their phone numbers. I have them blocked on every social media possible and I even created a new e-mail account. I also plan on changing my number when I get back to Virginia.
Lyndsey and I had a conversation earlier about how this relationship is a fresh start for the both of us. We are both scared, but excited at the same time. We still have a lot to learn about each other, and I'm still trying to break out of habits from my past relationships. I want to be open and honest not only with her but her family as well.
You have opened up your arms and home to me and I can't thank you enough for that. I was really nervous to meet you for the first time. But now I'm slowly getting comfortable with being around you both. I can't wait to come back and spend the Holidays with you again."
Cathy smiled and didn't say a word but just wrapped her arms around Andy. Tim smiled and noticed that Andy's face was a little red and he could tell that she was struggling to breath, "Cathy, sweetheart she can't breathe."
Her eyes went wide as she pulled away, "I'm so sorry honey. Are you all right?"
Andy let out a chuckle and nodded, "I'm fine. Just took me by surprise is all." It was Tim's turn to give Andy a hug and Lynn was hugging her mom again.
When Tim and Andy pulled apart it he looked at his daughter and gave her another hug.
"I have a feeling she's going to keep impressing me without trying." He whispered and she let out a quiet laugh. They pulled away and he gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"Andy, thank you for coming to us about everything and being open and honest. We really do appreciate it. It's not every day your daughter's girlfriend comes to her parents and just opens up like that." Cathy told her as she stirred the pot.
"Onto happier things," Tim said and clapped his hands together. He took their hands and led them to the kitchen table.
They sat down and he smiled, "I'll put on a pot of coffee and you two will tell us everything you have planned for this year! Mark tells me there's going to be an announcement tonight. Don't tell us what it is we'll find out like everyone else, but tell us everything else!"
Andy smiled and Lynn looked confused for a moment. She forgot that Mark had mentioned an announcement tonight. But she brushed it off as she watched her dad start to make the pot of coffee. While she was watching her dad Andy was watching her with a smiled. She took her hand and gently ran her thumb over Lynn's knuckles.
There was that small shock of electricity again and Lynn turned to look at Andy. Hazel and brown eyes met again. Both were taken back to October and that night all over again. Andy brought Lynn's hand up to her lips and gave the back of her hand a small lingering kiss.
"Are you ready?" Andy asked.
Lynn smiled and put her hand on her cheek, using her thumb she gently rubbed her soft skin, "As I'll ever be. We're in this together, and like you said earlier, you're in for the long haul. So am I." Andy kissed the heel of her hand and looked back at her. Both were wondering how they got so lucky.

"If I could have everyone's attention please?" Melissa said using a butter knife to clink against her wine glass. Kara, Erika, and Mark joined her in front of the room everyone gathered in after dinner. She waited until the chattered died down and she gave a rare smile. She looked around the room and she could just feel the love, and trust in the air. She may be tough, but it was times like these she cherished the most. Even if her husband was being difficult with her at the moment.
Everyone turned their attention to them and she cleared her throat, "Thank you. First I wanna say thank you Tim and Catherine for making such a wonderful dinner for all of us tonight." There was a loud applause for them and the two smiled and raised their wine glasses as if to say they were welcome.
"Now, Lynn, Alex, Brian, and Justin you four are about to go on the next leg of your headline tour and we couldn't be more prouder of you." There was another loud applause and the four of them smiled and nodded. Angel gave Brian a kiss on his cheek, just as Andy was doing the same to Lynn. Ethan patted Alex and Justin on their backs, giving them both a smile.
"I'm going to turn this over to Mark, since he has more information on what's going to happen this upcoming tour." She said.
Mark stepped up and gave her a smile, "Thank you Melissa," he cleared his throat and tried to keep his smile small.
"Even though this was supposed to be a quick tour, we added some more dates until May. First, we want to congratulate the band on Coachella," again another loud applause.
"So, I was asked if two people could come along on this upcoming tour. I was told they could help out with some stuff that we might need some extra hands on. I put in some calls and did some paper pushing and within a DAY of submitting everything I got a response." He took a sip of his drink and he peaked around the room. He wanted to keep the suspense going.
After he took his sip he caught Lynn's eyes and gave her a subtle wink. She had her arm around Andy's waist and she pulled her closer. Andy just shook her head because she knew what he was going to announce.
"Andy, Ethan come on up here and join us." Andy gave Lynn a kiss on her cheek and she walked up with her best friend and joined the four in front of the room.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to welcome Andrea Hill, and Ethan Chandler to the PVRIS family. As of ten this morning they are officially part of our tour crew. Andy will be one of the photographers and Ethan will be helping out with equipment. Both will help out security, meet and greets, getting the stages set up, soundchecks, and among other things.
Things go well, they might stay on permanently with us. This is their trial run but I have a feeling they're going to pass with flying colors. So let us all welcome out new members and share some tour stories to get them ready next month." Everyone let out a few cheers, and louder applause rang out. Everyone started to gather around Ethan and Andy to give them either a hug or a hand shake.
Lynn was the last one to come up to Andy, "I knew he was going to talk to you guys today about the tour but I wasn't expecting this." She said smiling.
Andy kissed her forehead, "You and me both. I always dreamed to work for a record label but I didn't think it would come true."
Lynn wrapped her arms around her waist and smiled, "Are you ready for adventures, tears, laughter, arguments, sleep deprivation, long drives, long flights, boredom, love, loss, and new places?"
Andy looked up and pretended to think for a few moments and then looked at Lynn and smiled, "As I'll ever be." They both smiled and leaned in towards each other. Before their lips could met they heard their names being called. But before Lynn could turn her head to see who was interrupting them Andy was able to plant a small kiss on her lips.
"I would say get a room, but there's a lot to celebrate," David said with a small chuckle coming up to them.
"I gotta a fire going in the back, whenever you two wanna join." He said and put his hand on each on one of their shoulders.
"I like this, you two, it feels right." He said and without warning pulled Andy in for a tight hug. He let her go and gave her a smile, then he did the same with Lynn.
"I have a really good feeling about her," he whispered in his sister's ear and she just smiled as they pulled away from each other. He kissed her cheek, gave her another smile and started to walk away.
Lynn and Andy looked at each other and started to laugh a little. They put their arms around each other and started to walk towards the back.
When they joined the others they heard Brian say, "I like how the "kids" are out here and the "adults" are in the kitchen."
"Doesn't that always happen when our families get together though?" Alex asked and everyone nodded.
"Sounds like my family gatherings growing up." Andy said taking offering one of the chairs to Lynn. She shook her head and gestured for Andy to sit down first. Before she could ask if she was sure Lynn held up her finger and pointed at the chair for Andy to sit down.
"You better sit down Andrea, Lynn is a determined person." Kara said.
Andy sat down in the chair and Lynn sat on her lap. "So this is why you wanted me to sit down first. I see what you did there."
"What can I say? You have a comfy lap." She said and kissed Andy's temple. Everyone laughed and then Kara stood up and started to walk towards the house. It was just the eight of them.
"Back to reality in the next few days huh?" Ethan said and everyone nodded.
"Seems like it. Wish this didn't have to end so soon." Brian said, again everyone nodded.
"Andy were you able to relax at some point?" Alex asked with a smirk.
"Ha ha ha, funny. But yes there were times where I was able to just chill out."
"What? When you were sleeping?" Angel spoke up and everyone laughed again.
"Sleeping, double date, our proper date, night before camp out, night we cooked dinner, night we wrapped presents, last night. So yeah, but those were like towards the end. The beginning and middle were a bit rough. But I was able to enjoy my time here. Can't wait to come back."
"So what's next for you two after you leave?" David asked looking back and forth between Andy and Ethan.
"Well, packing mostly. Finish our time at Ynot. Say our byes, head to Georgia, set up the house, then head to you guys. What about y'all?" Andy explained then asked.
"David and I are gonna be scouting some local bands and just checking out the music scene. See if Mickey's and Woody's is still around. Haven't been to those places in a while." Alex said and David was nodding his head.
"Angel and I are gonna head to Thailand for about a week, then spend some time with some more family. Thinking about taking a detour somewhere. Maybe Seattle or Vancouver."
"Another to cross of the bucket list." Angel said and she gave Brian a small kiss.
"What about you Lynn?" Ethan asked.
"Well, I head to Ohio for the magazine and the announcement for the April/May leg of the tour. Head to L.A. for about a week visit some friends, then to Brooklyn to see Lisa and Erika for some more planning for all of us. So be ready for conference calls you three." She said pointing at Brian, Alex, and Justin who all just rolled their eyes.
"How's Penn treating you Justin?" David asked.
"It's home," he started to say, "You know all these people all of a sudden know you when they see your face plastered every where on social media."
"Speaking of social media," They heard and they all turned to see Melissa, Erika, and Kara walking up to them.
"Ethan and Andy have you checked your profiles?" She asked and they both shook their heads.
"The last thing I posted was pictures of Lynn and I at the Statue of Liberty, I think. Oh wait, New Years Eve." Andy said.
"We limited our notifications because work has tried to contact us to cut our vacation short. So the only people that are able to reach us is our families and everyone here." Ethan explained.
Melissa nodded, "Okay, I'm giving you my blessing to post what ever you want on your social medias now that you're part of the crew. But don't make any announcements without letting us know first. Understood."
"Yes ma'am." Ethan and Andy said at the same time.
"What ever pictures or videos you have of everyone feel free to post and tag them in. Since you haven't been fully on your social medias you'll notice an increase in your followers since you've been here. Andy I hear you've been having trouble with a couple of ex girlfriends of yours."
"You could say that."
"I also hear that they have a way of trying to get into contact with you?" She asked and Andy nodded.
"Okay, if they do let us know as soon as possible. I know you don't want to cause any trouble and it's not your fault by any means. If anything pops up that concerns you don't hold it back. You're with some one that's in a spotlight so to speak. I don't mean to put all this on you, but we just want to be careful with everything."
Andy nodded, "I understand, don't worry first thing that pops up that has to do with me or them I'll let you know."
"We also need to talk to Andy alone for a few minutes. Do you guys mind?" Erika asked and everyone looked confused but they all stood up and started to walk towards the house. Lynn stood up and gave Andy a small kiss on her lips and held her hand for a few moments before following everyone inside.
The three women took a seat across from Andy. No one spoke for a few minutes. Until they heard the back door open and close and they saw Mark coming their way. He gave them all a small smile and he sat down.
"We need to talk about what you and Mark talked about today about your heart." Melissa said and Andy just nodded. She knew this would pop up in a conversation at one point. She took a deep breath and let it out. She looked at the three women before and started from the beginning.

"Do they know we're coming?" Brian asked getting into Lynn's car. She shook her head and smiled.
"I just feel like it's their last day here, we should do something for them. I was thinking we all could cook dinner or something." She said as she started her car and started to drive towards Ethan and Andy's.
"Do we need to go to the store first?" Alex asked and again she shook her head.
"I found a recipe for a chicken francese, mixed veggies and roasted potatoes. I bought everything this morning. Figured we give them our own send off until we see them next month. Plus they had to put up with a lot of our PR people. I thought this could be our way of saying thank you. They also traveled all the way up here to spend the Holidays with us."
Alex nodded, "I agree. I mean they took time out of their work schedules too. Plus, from what Ethan's been telling me while they've been here, their work wanted them to cut it this short. Remember he said it last night."
"Oh yeah! I'm glad they didn't!" Brian said with a shake of his head.
Alex nodded, "Yeah, but they kept like two or three people from work just to keep up with the office gossip type thing. Or restaurant gossip so to speak. That may be a reason why Andy's been less tense this past week."
"Her mind seems to be on work a lot lately. Like she doesn't know how to stop that part of her mind or something." Angel pointed out.
"What do you think she's gonna be like on tour?" Lynn asked as she turned down the street.
"Well we all know she's a workaholic and can't really sit still for too long." Angel said.
"Wait unless she's at the movies, or a play, or driving." Alex said listing off a few things. Brian and Angel nodded.
"I think Lynn Gunn is going to change all of that." Brian said with a smirk and put a hand on Lynn's shoulder. She just smiled and pulled in behind the Jeep in front of the town house.
"You can't change a person unless they want to change for themselves."Angel said as Lynn put the car in park and nodded.
"I agree. I mean I was kind of annoyed with Andy and her work calls. Like Alex said they changed their settings to where work can't get to them. Plus her Uncle's restaurant is on hold until further notice. Part of me is scared though." She told them as they were all taking off their seatbelts.
Everyone got out of the car and Lynn opened up her trunk. "Scared about what?" Brian asked grabbing a couple of grocery bags.
"That when her Uncle says that the restaurant is up and running, she's going to go right back into it." When everyone grabbed a couple of bags she closed her trunk and they all walked up the steps to the door.
"Well, we'll come to that bridge when it happens. But for now let's thank them." Alex said with a smile and knocked on the door.
Ethan and Andy looked at each other with a confused look. They were folding the bed sheets and just doing some last minute stuff before they left tomorrow to go back home.
"Lynn?" Ethan asked Andy.
She shook her head, "No, thought she was spending today and tonight with her parents and the rest of her family. Same with everyone else." They both stood up from the couch.
There was a knock again, "I really wish this door had a peep hole." Andy said moving slowly towards the door with Ethan close behind her.
"Can you see out the window?" She asked and he moved over front window and carefully looked out. He let out a sigh of relief and shook his head.
"You're not gonna believe this." He smiled and walked up to the door and opened it. Andy watched as the four came inside with the grocery bags and they all smiled at her.
"What's going on?" She asked following them into the kitchen. Lynn put down her bags on the counter and came up to her and gave her a small kiss on her lips.
"We decided to come surprise you two and cook you dinner tonight." She told them
Ethan and Andy looked at each other with skeptical looks.  Angel caught it their looks and said, "Oh come on, we won't burn down the house!"
Everyone laughed and Alex started to push the two out of the kitchen, "You two go finish what you were doing and we'll take care of this."
Andy looked at her watch and it read that it was two in the afternoon.
"Wait it's two, it's gonna take five hours to cook a full dinner?"
Alex leaned in close to them as they reached the door, "We're trying something out of our comfort zone. So if you hear screaming please rescue us." He said as he pushed them out and closed the doors.
Ethan and Andy looked at each other and shrugged, "Guess we'll finish up the bed sheets and packing." Ethan said and she nodded. They went back over to the couch and continued what they started before the four came over.
"By the way dad called this morning. He, mom, Wendy, Trey, Michael, and Brandon have been slowly packing up our stuff. They already sent most of our kitchen stuff. Uncle Chris said all we really need is our mattresses and that's it. Figured we could put our stuff in the storage units he's giving us too."
"Wait what storage units?" Ethan asked placing a folded pillowcase on top of one of the piles of bedsheets.
"Well he knew we would have some stuff to bring down. But since the house is already furnished, he figured we would need somewhere to put our furniture and anything extra that we might have. So he gave dad the address for the units. Uncle Chris said they're already paid for and we just put our stuff in them. So you and I need to talk about what we could put in the units and what we are gonna keep in the house."
He nodded and the both picked up a two piles of the folded bedsheets and started to walk up the stairs.
"Are there already beds and stuff in the house? Cause if not I would like to keep my bed." They reached the top of the stairs and Andy opened the closet.
"We could have those beds move into the spare rooms and we can have our beds in our rooms." She suggested.
He nodded, "Sounds like a plan. What else do we have to do?"
"Are you all packed besides what you're gonna wear tomorrow?" She asked.
He nodded, "Yeah plus I figured take a shower tonight and all that cool stuff. What time is our flight?"
"Eight, mom and dad want to take us to breakfast when we get in. So Trey is gonna pick us up at the airport and take us straight to that one place that's a store and restaurant. Of course we go to mom's favorite place on our first day back."
Ethan chuckled and they went back down stairs. They sat on the couch and checked their phones, "Oh dad called again and texted."
"What's up?" Ethan asked her.
She shook her head with a chuckle, "Dad just being dad, sent me one of his 'raps' saying that he can't wait to see us and that he can't wait to meet Lynn."
"Of course he would. By the way, when you did your setting change who did you block from work?"
"Antony, Clint, Mark, Brendan. I kept Michael, Brandon, and Trey. You?"
"About the same. Hear about Brendan FINALLY getting a girlfriend?"
The two went back and forth about gossip they've been hearing about work while the four were in the kitchen trying to figure out the recipe Lynn found.
"Maybe we should ask them for help. I mean they make this all the time." Alex said cutting up some of the potatoes.
"I'm just not understanding this whole chicken process. Like how hot does pan have to be before we put the chicken in? Am I using oil or butter?" Angel asked reading the piece of paper. Lynn was cutting up some of the vegetables and Brian was getting the chicken ready.
"So what, it's flour then egg wash?" Brian asked looking at his copy of the recipe.
"Don't do anything yet. I have to know how hot to get the pan. I mean the picture looks great, and I want to get it to that color. This sauce looks easy enough. Hope it turns out right."
Angel put down her copy of the recipe and started to get things ready to make the sauce, "I just gotta figure out how to reduce it just right." She said to herself.
"We could always ask them," Alex said in a small sing song kind of voice.
"Hey, bright side on tour we have two chefs!" Brian said with a smile and they all laughed.
"Think they're okay in there? It's been a couple of hours." Andy said.
Ethan sat up from his laying position on the couch and looked into the kitchen. "They look really confused right now. But determined."
Just then they heard the smoke alarm go off and Alex came running towards the kitchen door. Andy and Ethan jumped up and started to open the windows. Alex came running into the living room followed by Angel, Lynn, and Brian bringing up the rear.
Ethan and Andy rushed into the kitchen and saw a pan on the stove that was smoking too much. Ethan opened up the kitchen windows and Andy grabbed a couple of dish towels and took the pan off of the stove and put it in the sink. She turned on the cold water to cool it down. She turned off the stove and she went over to Ethan to help him wave away the smoke from the smoke detector.
When it finally shut off and most of the smoke was cleared out they went to the living room and saw Angel and Lynn with tears in their eyes. While Brian and Alex were standing there hanging their heads in shame.
"So much for trying not to burn the house down." Andy said looking at the four of them with smiling eyes.
"What were you guys trying to make?" Ethan asked.
Alex looked up at him, "Lynn found a recipe for a chicken francese."
"And where did you run into trouble?" Andy asked crossing her arms trying to hide her smile.
"How hot I should get the pan," Angel spoke up. Andy bit her lip and walked up to Lynn and put her arms around her.
"We really appreciate y'all doing this but how about we take it from here." Ethan said with a smile.
"Better yet, how about we SHOW you how to make it." Andy said with a smile and kissed Lynn on her forehead.
"Told you we should've asked for help," Alex said to them and they all laughed.
Andy smiled with amusement, "Guess I'm gonna have to show you a thing or two in the kitchen huh?"
"Or you can just cook for me every night." Lynn said with a smile. She returned the smile and gave her a small kiss on her lips.
"Alright Ethan let's show them how it's done." Andy said and they all walked back into the kitchen.
2018 was off to an amazing start and they couldn't wait to start a whole new adventure. The future looked amazing and bright that they would stand together no matter what came their way. The first task was to conquer the kitchen and its many trials.
