A/N~ Hehe I updated. I was wondering if I could get a review or two? Ya know. Just so I know that my story doesn't completely suck. PLEASE?!
Chapter 2
I sat staring out the window, the rain was pouring down on outside our small suburban home. It was about 4:30, on a cold February afternoon. It was one of those days that you could feel the cold down to your bones and in the pit of your stomach. I was never one for winter; I'm more of a summer girl. It's just because everything is just so simple in the summer, you don't have to worry about anything.
I'm weird don't mind me. I guess I'm just very thoughtful today. I shook my head and stood up, stretching my body. The bad thing about rainy days is how it makes you ache. You just want to crawl into bed and cry. They can just be depressing.
"Hey, Jay Jay." Ashlee ran into the house drenched with water. I just looked at her oddly.
"What happened to you?"
"Long story..." Ashlee rolled her eyes and laughed a little.
"Tell me!" I giggled a little bit, and smiled happily for my friend.
I threw her a pair of my dry clothes; since we were the same size it was easy to share our stuff. She walked to the bathroom, closed the door and began to change. I stood outside the door talking to her.
"Well you know, Adam, right?"
"Adam... gorgeous Adam Rutgers?" I called back to her leaning against the wall adjacent to the door. Adam was this good-looking guy in her school. He had everything, money, athletics, and the heart of every girl in St. Joseph's, Ashlee's school. Well maybe he was missing something... morals. From what I had heard, he was a bit of a player. Hopefully for Ashlee he wouldn't be like that for her.
"Uh huh!" I could here her giggling through the door and jumping up and down. She was always boy crazy, but I knew even Adam couldn't make Ashlee forget about Josh. I don't think anyone could. She had just fallen too hard for him.
"Damn! What happened?" I asked as she came out of the bathroom.
She wore a pair of my black adidas pants and a white tank top. And me, being the tomboy wore a pair of baggy jeans and a light green shirt. I mean I'm not a complete tomboy, if I want to I can be girlie, but I could care less. I don't know. Ashlee is the complete opposite of me in some ways. She's more of the girlie girl. She takes care of herself more, and I guess she is happier with herself than I am.
"Well, he asked me out, and we walked home together, in the pouring rain. We got to my door and he just kissed me. It was just all too perfect." She sighed and spaced out dreamily. I smiled happily for her.
"That’s awesome. I'm so happy for you, Ash." I said and she looked up at me.
"Jess, let's talk..." She pulled my hand and sat down on the couch. I don't know how she did it, but she had fixed her soaking wet hair and made it look decent. I could never pull that off.
"About what?" I popped a piece of gum into my mouth and sat back in the couch.
"You." Ashlee said and I looked at her like she had 3 heads. About me? Okay…
"All right..." I looked away from her and stared down at the floor. I knew what was going to come. One of those sisterly advice, lovey-dovey talks. I really hate those.
"Jess, You’re getting older now... You’re in junior high... and soon you'll be in high school..." I let out a long sigh as she spoke. I knew where this was going; my sister had the same talk with me. "You need to start taking care of yourself..."
"I take care of myself thank you very much." I stated and rolled myself.
"Listen, all I'm saying is you should at least put on a little make up or something." She suggested, I didn't say anything. "Or how about this, you let me make you over."
"Make me over?" I raised my eyebrow at her and she shrugged.
"Come on, Jess. It'll be fun!"
"Oh God… All right fine." She grabbed my hand and ran upstairs, pulling me along after her. I just gave in just because there was nothing else better to do. Buffy wasn't on tonight anyway.
"Go shower and I'll pick out your clothes." She squealed and searched through my clothes.
I sighed and walked into my bathroom. It was white and peach tiled. It was cute with a picture of a flower on the wall. I stripped down and got into the shower, washing my shoulder length dark brown hair. Well, it's not exactly shoulder length, a little longer. But length doesn't matter; I usually wear it in a ponytail anyway.
I stepped out of the shower, drying myself a little and wrapping my bathrobe around myself. I walked into my room to find this outfit picked out on my bed. This silver belly shirt with a glitter star was laid out on it, along with this jean skirt, but it wasn't really a skirt, it has shorts underneath them, I think it was a skort. I shook my head and stared at her.
"I'm not wearing this."
"Jess, come on. This stuff is brand new and plus we're going to visit the guys at the studio." Ashlee stated and I looked at her defiantly.
"We're not going to the studio." I said confused, as I scratched my head through the towel covering my wet hair.
"Yeah we are. Josh just called and said to be ready in an hour." She smiled and I looked at her. "I invited Adam, You think Josh will get jealous?"
I shrugged as she pulled me down to my vanity, pulling my hair down and brushing it. She smiled to herself, hopeful.
******************
About 45 minutes later, both Ashlee and I were ready. I was in the outfit Ashlee picked out for me, the silver belly shirt, and the denim skort, along with a pair of these silver and white platform sketchers. She had done twisties in my hair, these small braids on the top of my head and then came down in curls.
I felt a little uncomfortable, no one had saw this much of my body except if I was in a bathing suit. But I did look pretty, I had to say that much. I had this light blue eye shadow on, and this pink gloss on my lips. It just brought light to my face.
Ashlee had on a pair of bell-bottom jeans with a heart on the leg. She wore a pink off the shoulder top with a matching color belt. Her blonde hair was up in a claw clip, I don't know how she pulled it off, but it looked like she spent 3 hours on it when it was more like 5 minutes. She sat at my vanity doing her make-up with such ease and care. I sat on my bed watching her in awe. How the hell did she get it so perfect?
"So..." She said smiling at our reflections in the mirror as she lightly applied a neutral color eye shadow. "What do you think of Justin?"
"Huh?" I looked at her like she was crazy. "He's weird."
"Do you think he's hot?" She inquired with a small giggle. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window. The rain had started to ease up, it was barely drizzling now.
"Ewww... No!" I exclaimed with a sigh. "Why do you?"
"No, But I thought you guys would look cute together." She turned around and grinned at me.
"Oh God eww! What the hell would give you that idea?" I stared at her with my nose scrunched up and crossed my legs on the bed. I let out a yawn as I stretched my arms.
"I don't know... maybe the reason your so mean to him is because you really like him." She winked at me and slapped my arm lightly.
"Okay how about no? Maybe I'm nasty to him because I really can't stand him?" I suggested with a smile. She rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Okay right, Jess." Ash stood up and smiled to herself, as if she was keeping some huge secret from me. "Let's go wait downstairs."
We walked down the stairs and waited in the living room for Adam to come and then for JC to pick us up. I hope JC wouldn’t be to mad that this guy was tagging along with us.
Finally Adam came through the doorway and threw his arms around Ashlee, pulling her into this deep ass kiss. My mouth practically dropped to the floor. When they pulled away Adam looked at me and smiled.
“She’s so cute.” Adam looked at Ashlee and smiled. I rolled my eyes and looked back out the window. I absolutely HATE being treated like I’m a little girl. HELLO! I’m 13 not 3. “Hey hunnie, what’s your name?”
“Its Jessica, asshole.” I looked at him and raised my eyebrow, looking him up and down.
“Okay then…” Adam turned to Ashlee and took her hand. He didn’t even listen to what I said. What an airhead. “So where are we going?”
“Okay so we’re gonna go to Battery Studio in Manhattan.” Ashlee smiled a little bit, shooting me a nasty look for my last comment. “Her brother’s in a band so he’s gonna pick us up and take us there.”
“Awesome I’m in a band too, maybe I could get discovered or something.” He joked and I just looked away, ready to burst out laughing. Stupid pretty boy. “What kind of music does your brother do, Jesse?”
UGH! I wanted to hit the guy right there and then. NO ONE is allowed to call me Jesse. NOONE. My grandma used to call me, Jesse. Shesed sed away last January, and I guess I just really miss her. We were pretty close and now that she’s gone everything is just so empty, so emotionless.
“He does pop and my name is Jessica. Not Jesse.” I glared at him and he still didn’t get the hint that I didn’t like him. Oh man what an asshole.
“Oh really… well I rap…” He told me and I just burst out laughing. I swear to God I almost pissed my pants right there and then. “I come from the ghetto… ya know?”
“Do you now?” I smirked a little. “So where exactly are you from, Alex?” I messed up his name purposely, just to piss him off. Ashlee kept trying to calm me down and get my to shut up but I couldn’t let this one go.
“Well uh… Dylan Hills… and my name is Adam…”
Oh man! That just sent me into hysterics. Dylan Hills? That is the freaking richest neighborhood in Brooklyn. All the snobby people who don’t want to live in Manhattan live there.
“Oh yeah that’s real ghetto.” I said sarcastically and looked out the window for JC. What a fucking idiot this guy was. I really didn’t know what Ashlee saw in him. Yeah he was cute but he had no goddamn brain. If it were me, I would need someone I could have a decent conversation with. It’s not only about looks; it’s about personality too.
15 horrible minutes later, JC came running into the house, almost tripping on the white and black marble floor in the front room.
“Nice one!” I just fell into hysterics. Today was just turning into a day of mocking morons.
“Don’t laugh at me!” JC held onto the wall to sturdy himself and then slowly walked over to us.
“Thank God you’re here. Alan here was gonna rap for us.” I hit him on the back a few times and Ashlee gave me this death look. I wonder how many of those I had gotten already?
It was funny cause even JC had given me a nasty look. I just smiled at him, and walked outside into the car. Joey, one of JC’s band mates was seated in the front while Justin was sitting in the back. I shot a fake smile at Justin and threw my arms around Joey, giving him a hug.
“Jess?” Joey looked at me and just stared in amazement.
“What?”
“Oh damn girlie! You look amazing! “ Joey grinned at me and nudged Justin. “Doesn’t she look pretty?”
“Pretty doesn’t even describe how she looks.” Justin beamed at me, and I just looked away from him.
“Yeah, I let Ashlee dress me.” I stated plainly and looked out the window as Joey played with one of my curls. “Oh and let me warn you, Ashlee’s boyfriend is a moron. I mean a complete retard. The guy had no brain… and he raps…”
I shook my head while Joey and Justin started to laugh. I smirked as JC got into the front seat and Adam and Ash got into the back. We were all pretty squished together, I could hardly move.
“Okay someone get on someone else’s lap, I can’t move.” Ashlee said and no one moved. Hell, I knew she was talking to me but I wouldn’t listen.
“Jess, just get on Justin’s lap. Jus, you don’t mind do you?” Joey smirked at Justin and he just blushed a little bit.
“Na, I don’t mind.”
“Okay then it’s settled, Jess, sit on his lap.” Ashlee practically pushed me onto his lap and I just sat there in humiliation. Ugh! Why did I always get stuck doing that stuff. Why did they always force me to be the little lacky.
So yeah, we drove to the studio and I couldn’t help but feel awkward. JC kept looking back at me in the mirror and I purposely wanted to do something just to piss them all off. Especially Justin. But I would. All in time.
