Angel's Shock chapter 2


 The following is a work of total fiction. I have never met Darren or Daniel and like everyone else apart from them and their partners I do not know their true sexual preferences. I do not mean any disrespect or harm to either of them.
 
Just then they heard the bathroom door opening and Angel came downstairs. She walked over to the drinks cabinet without a word, poured herself a vodka and coke which she drank, then poured herself another.
 
"Angel..." Darren began.
 
"How long?" She asked without looking at either of them. "How long have you two been fucking?"
 
"It's not just fucking, Angel, I love Danny and he loves me."
 
"Whatever! How long? Have you been at it from the start, since you first met? Was it before we got engaged? Is that why you asked me to marry you? You felt guilty, is that it? How long?"
 
"Not from the start, about six months. We never meant for it to happen, honestly, it just happened. I'm really sorry, but please believe that I love you. I always have loved you and I always will. What Danny and I have doesn't affect you and I. I promise it will never affect us."
 
"It already has. How can you say you love me and then say you love Daniel? You can't love us both. Why? Wasn't I enough for you? Didn't I satisfy you? You always said I did, obviously I didn't. Does he do it better for you?"
 
"Of course you satisfy me, Angel, you always have, we have a fantastic sex life. That's not why I got involved with Daniel. It's just different with him, not necessarily better. I get different things from Daniel, things you can't give me."
 
"Obviously. I can't go up your arse like he can!"
 
"Don't be crude Angel, it's not like you. It's not just about sex, Danny and I love each other."
 
"Well congratulations! I hope you'll both be very happy together. Just don't expect me to be around to witness it. I always believed you and I were made for each other, we were soulmates. Then he comes along and it's all over."
 
"Please don't say that, I don't want to lose you. Please let's work this out."
 
"So what? You expect me to share you with Daniel? You get us both? Don't you think that's being just a tad greedy? If you love him, you're not going to give him up are you? I can't share you, so we are finished. I won't ask you to choose, you'll probably choose him anyway and after what I've just witnessed I can't stand to be with you anymore. It's over. I hope you have a great life together. If it's any consolation I can see the attraction, you are both very handsome men and if you're both gay it's natural that you would fall for each other."
 
"I'm not gay," said Darren. "If I was I wouldn't love you. I'm bi-sexual. And I do love you. Please reconsider, I know I'm being greedy but I love you both, I don't want to lose or hurt either of you."
 
"Call it what you like, you've still been fucking a guy! Is it just Daniel or have there been others I don't know about? Hey are you two careful? Could I have caught something from you?"
 
"Angel, just because I've made love with another man it doesn't mean I have some disease, you know. We are both clean I promise you. I would never put you at any risk; you are far too precious to me. There was never anyone else. You both took my virginity."
 
"Well I feel very special, don't you Daniel?" she said full of sarcasm.
 
"Angel, Darren really never meant to hurt you. Please don't be bitter, I know it's been a shock, but think of all you've shared over the years. Doesn't he deserve another chance? It's really not his fault he just cares too much that's all. I know we should have told you about our feelings for each other but Darren didn't want to hurt you. I'm truly sorry you had to find out like that. You weren't supposed to be here tonight."
 
"I came back early because I was missing Darren. I thought he might be missing me too, obviously I was wrong. I'm sorry I spoilt your fun. Don't mind me if you want to go back and finish what you were doing. I'm going to bed anyway, I can't cope with this tonight. Just keep the noise down ok. Goodnight." She finished her drink and went upstairs to bed.
 
"Danny I have hurt her so much. She'll never forgive me for this."
 
"At least she's staying. Once she's slept on it she may feel different in the morning. As I said if she makes you choose between us, choose her. She can give you more of what you want than I can. As for our career maybe she'll let us continue if we promise to never be alone together, then she'll know it's just professional. I want you to be happy babe and if I have to give you up for that to be possible then so be it!"
 
"Why are you so good to me? You're so understanding, you've had to put up with being second best for the past six months. Only having stolen moments together when we can. It would be so much easier on you if you found someone who is free to love you like you should be loved. I do love you. I love you, as much as I love Angel, I don't want to lose either of you. Why does life have to be so complicated? Why weren't we made to have two partners each?"
 
"Because we're not meant to be greedy! As for us I would rather be your 'bit on the side' than to not have you at all. I love you; I never felt this way about anyone else, man or woman. I'm happy to take what I can get from you, but like I said I will move aside so you and Angel can have a proper crack at a life together if she can't face sharing you. I love you."
 
"I love you, too Dan." Then they put their arms around each other and kissed.
 
"Will you be ok Dar? I don't want to leave you alone but I don't think it would be a good idea for me to stay tonight. If I'm not here in the morning, you guys can have a proper talk and maybe work it out."
 
"Yeah, you're right. It will only upset her even more if you're still here in the morning. I'll be ok. I'll see you tomorrow."
 
"Ok love. Call me?"
 
"Yeah I will. Drive safely. Goodnight."
 
"Goodnight." Then they kissed goodnight and Daniel drove home alone.
 
Darren went up to the spare room and went to bed. He kept thinking over everything that had happened, wondering if Angel was asleep, what she was thinking. It was a long time before he finally drifted off to sleep.
