It had been almost a week since her rendezvous with Peter Steele, now here she was back home with her grandfather and her older brother Jack. Going to the concert was one of the best idea's she had had in a long time, too bad she was forced to take her snotty cousin along, but in the end all turned out even better than she had hoped for.
She yawned and sat up in her bed and stretched. After a night in Peter's arms, she longed to be there again. She was feeling the pangs of loneliness and wished she had someone to hold every night, instead of hugging her pillow. She wished to be held the way Peter held her, his grip tight and possessively all night.
Humming to herself quietly, she climbed out of bed and took her shower, then finished getting dressed. She retreated to the kitchen for a quick brunch, grabbed her bag with a change of clothes and then headed off to the night club Jack owned and ran. It would be another long night at the Rose, but she was used to it.
Jack had some mystery band playing tonight and refused to give her any details as to who they might be.
Her brother liked to get the undiscovered bands to play at the club. He had some friends in the record companies who came almost nightly to check out new prospects.
The car pulled up in front of the night club. Peter arrived an hour or two earlier to speak with the owner and to get the stage set up. A few of the roadies followed behind in the bands equipment truck. His mind wasn't really on the gig or anything, just on his Jasmine girl.
After signing an autograph or two he was led upstairs to the office. "This is so fucking cool," gushed the girl who brought him up, "Lee is just gonna flip when you step into the office!"
Peter gave her an amused smile and knocked on the door.
Leena stood looking out the bay window that over looked the club floor. From where she stood, she could see just about everything that went on below. The darkened room was lit merely by the few spice apple scented candles she had scattered around the office. Jack wasn't a candle person but she was and he never argued when she brought the candles in. He rather liked the scent, though he would never admit it to her. The room was warm and filled with dancing shadows from the candles as their flames flickered. "Come in."
Peter opened the door and stepped inside the room, closing the door silently behind him. He took a deep whiff of the air and sighed.
Leena turned around to greet him and froze where she stood. "What on earth are you doing here?"
They stared at each other for a minute then Peter closed the distance between them. Leena backed against the wall and stared at him wide eyed. She never dreamed that she would see him again, let alone in her brother's nightclub. "We're playing here tonight, or so I was told that is."
The door burst open and Jack came walking in, his arms filled with past ledgers. Leena dashed over to help him as he dropped them onto the table rather loudly. "Here they are Lee, all of the past accounting records. Do you think you can sort through them and figure out why the hell it says I'm in the hole, Maury better hope I don't find him.. if I do.. I'm sicking you after him!"
Leena smiled and nudged his arm. Jack looked up and smiled. "Ahh Peter Steele, pleasure to meet you, I see you've met Leena."
Peter smiled and nodded then took a seat in front of the desk. Leena sat on the couch with one of the ledgers open half reading and half listening to the conversation between the two men.
"This building is fairly big, we have rooms for you and the other band members to hang out in and also a section for you to store anything you don't need. This has a lock on it and only I or Leena have the keys to get into it. I assure you your things will be quite safe if you decide to use it." Jack went on about the security he had and assured Peter that he had bouncers at each door leading in to the night club.
When the meeting came to a close both men stood up, Leena looked up in time to catch Peter's eye. He winked at her and resumed following her brother downstairs.
After a few hours the nightclub was alive, the music was loud and Leena moved across the room to the window to peek downstairs. There were people on both levels some dancing and other's just standing around listening to the music. There were two bars, one on each level and both were busy.
Most of the people who came to the club were gothic, pale skin and lots of black and peircings. That was ok though, both Leena and Jack were alittle gothic themselves, but minus the white skin.
She could see Jack moving around the floor as Type O Negative played on the stage, the bouncers at their posts and the security were stationed on either side of the club. All plain clothed of course.
Leena shed her street clothes and slipped into her black floor length dress and heels, Her hair hung loosely around her shoulders. Nothing fancy, she just wanted to look nice as she usually did when she was at the club watching the bands.
She slipped down the stairs and greeted those who spoke to her, taking a place at the bar next to Jack she leaned on his shoulder and whispered to him. "I'll be looking at those books for a while, there's some withdrawals I don't have receipts for as of yet."
After a few minutes Jack excused himself to make another round of the club, he was always one to be on his toes and wanted to be aware of anything and everything.
Leena leaned on the bar and stared up at the stage, her eyes glued to the deep sultry voice as he bellowed out the lyrics to "The Dream is Dead".
"Champagne glass of blood and wine
On chocolate hearts I dine
Candles weeping waxing tears
Ten for roses each one a year - disappear
Arrows fester in my heart
Each memory another dart
Love and death both colored red
Showing my past, the dream is dead
Another lonely Valentine's Day
I can't believe that things turned
out this way
And though I hate to see you go
I know it must be so
Another lonely Valentine's Day
Nobody will break your fall
All for none, yeah, none for all
Nothing's so cruel as the truth
Join the Festival of Fools
Nobody will break your fall
All for one, yeah, none for all
Nothing's so cruel as the truth
Join the festival, my fools
Another lonely Valentine's Day
I can't believe things turned
out this way
And though I hate to see you go
I know it must be so
Another lonely Valentine's Day
The dream is dead"
Once the song was over Leena motioned for another drink. Sitting next to her was someone dressed in all black and had fake blood dripping down his chin. "Hey sweet cheeks, do you like vampires?"
She eyed him curiously then proceeded to ignore him. He scooted closer and placed a hand on her leg and gave it a tight squeeze. "I don't like being ignored sweetcheeks, what are you too good for me or something?"
The smell of his breath almost made her gag. The mixture of alcohol and cigarettes didn't combine very well.
Before she could respond he was yanked up by the back of his shirt. "Touch her again you little fuck and I'll rip your fucking hands off!"
Peter shoved him away from her, grabbed her hand and pulled her out to his car. "Let's go.."
