I bit my lip, glancing across the smoky room to see the time and sighed. 12:47. I’d more than fulfilled my promise to make an appearance at another damned party. Why Ryan even wanted me here was a mystery.
Pushing myself off of the floral wall paper covered wall I was leaning on, I slowly made my way over to the boy in question. He was leaning his body over some girl I’d never seen before, smiling and laughing. His hand skimmed over her bare shoulder before resting on her thin hip. I could feel a familiar salty sting in the back of my eyes which I quickly covered with a smile.
“Hey I’m gonna go,” I said, having to yell over the loud music.
He gave me a fleeting look, barely acknowledging my presence. I bit my lip again to suppress a bitter laugh. “Okay.”
The girl he was with narrowed her thickly lined eyes but said nothing. It was funny you know. She was in the place I’d have killed to be, and even if for just a second, she felt threatened by me. I couldn’t help but smile a little at the thought.
I walked slowly, never looking up from my feet as people pushed their way past me. The world was still spinning, always spinning, but I could barely move.
“Laineeeeeee!” Mel came barreling towards me. The normally composed girl drunkenly stumbled, latching onto my arm for support. “Where do you think you’re going?”
I’d been so close, yet so far from escape. “Home. Need my beauty rest and all.”
Mel snorted. “Bitch please. You’re pretty enough, which is why you need to come with me.”
The contempt was thick in Mel’s voice as she called me pretty. Though Melissa Eastman would never be caught dead associating with someone ugly, I knew the fact that I could hold a candle to all 5’8 inches of her perfectly tanned self irked her like nothing else.
What did she have to be jealous of anyways? A shy slip of a girl with untamable auburn hair paper white skin. At least in my eyes, I wasn‘t exactly big competition.
I’d be more than happy to extinguish my flame if it meant she’d let me go home.
“And where would I be going?”
“I told Derek Sullivan you would give him a lap dance as a belated birthday present.” She giggled madly as she said it. “He totally wants your V card.”
I clenched my eyes shut to try to chase off the horrible headache I could feel coming on. Hopefully when I opened them again, Mel would be gone. “My V card?”
“Your virginity!” She explained with a smirk. Oh how she loved my discomfort “You’re like the oil in Alaska, Lainee. Pure, pristine, untapped ass.”
I had to ask didn’t I?
“Unfortunately for Derek Sullivan, he’s going to have to keep drilling in the Middle East. I’m going home.”
“Fine.” Mel sneered, letting go of my arm with a little shove. “Hopefully someday Ryan will give you a pity fuck and we can all move on.”
That one kind of hurt, but I refused to let her see it. “Night Mel. Happy hangovers.”
It only took a few more steps and as twist of a doorknob before I was swallowed by black velvet summer sky. Freedom.
I started down the car filled street, counting each step I took until I reached the street light at the end. I stood under the golden glow and looked up at the star dotted sky. A calm smile spread across my lips as I dropped my bag to the pavement. I opened my arms to the sky before I started to spin. I spun and spun around until my surroundings were nothing but a gold tinted blur. The world was still spinning, but I could spin too.
“You’ve lost your mind.”
I let out a startled screech and nearly fell over trying to stop the motion of my body. Dizziness washed over me as I slowed, before coming to a clumsy stop. It made my stomach lurk unpleasantly.
With weary eyes that were barely back in focus, I looked up. Automatically wish I hadn’t. Standing in front of me was the bane of my existence for the last 12 years of my life.
“I lost that a while ago,” I snapped. This was just what I needed to complete my night.
He smirked slightly around an unlit cigarette. “Why so pissy tonight Lainee? Did you throw yourself at Ryan and he turned you down or something?”
My eyes narrowed to slits. “Fuck you Frank.”
Slinging my bag over my shoulder I started to walk, my arms wrapped around myself protectively.
“I take that as a yes.”
I stopped and shot him a disgusted look. “No, I didn’t throw myself at anyone though, I don’t see how that’s any of your business. Now please, get out of my face.” With that I continued to walk away.
“I’m sorry.”
I stopped mid-step, not bothering to turn around. “What?”
“I said…” I could hear his footsteps coming up behind me. “I’m sorry.”
I finally turned to come face to face with him. The toes of our shoes touched and I could feel his breath on my face. I opened my mouth to speak but he shook his head at me to halt my words. Then, he did the last thing I would have ever expected him to. Spit in my face, maybe. Slap me, a possibility.
Instead, he ghosted his lips across mine. Then he was three feet away from me before I even had the chance to blink. I could only watch with wide, confused eyes as he smirked at me again, and disappeared around the corner of the street.
Frank Iero had just apologized to me. Frank Iero had kissed me.

Hello everyone! So, as you can see, I've decided to rewrite this story. Though, it's really not so much of a rewrite as it's me editing and adding to the previous version. This thing used to be my baby, and I'm determined to make it grow.
Please tell me what you think. If you've read the old version of Kiss Me, Kill me, is this better? Worse? Don't care? If you're all not digging this, I'll just put the old story back up.
Thanks a million loves :D
