The trip back to Gackt’s home was quiet, neither man spoke, Hyde’s eyes gazing out the window for the entire journey. Gackt glancing at him in concern every now and then until they pulled into the garage.
“Oh my God…Hyde… your arm!” Gackt cried out in shock at the dark red patch on Hyde’s shirt.
Hyde turned and glanced at his arm. Fuck… He gritted his teeth and moved to get out of the car, but Gackt was quicker and locked the doors.
“What happened to your arm?” He reached over and gently took Hyde’s arm and moved to pull the sleeve up.
“Nothing.” Hyde replied sharply, pulling his arm away.
“Haido.” Gackt said sternly. “What really happened?”
“Nothing, I told you.” Hyde replied again. “Just unlock the doors.”
Gackt sighed; Hyde was in one of his more childish moods. He unlocked the doors and got out, Hyde was already halfway towards the garage access door. Gackt was worried about his friend, why was there blood on his sleeve? He hoped that Hyde hadn’t tried anything stupid.
“Please tell me.” He asked softly, unlocking the access door and holding it closed.
Hyde bit his lip and shook his head. “There’s nothing to tell… OW!”
Gackt had reached out and grasped the bloody patch on Hyde’s forearm. “Really? Then why does it hurt?” His contact-blue eyes stared into Hyde’s chocolate brown gaze.
Hyde looked away, pushed past Gackt, and walked inside quickly, going straight to the bathroom and locking the door behind him. Another sigh left Gackt’s lips as he took a seat on his white leather couch, worried about his friend, wishing he could help him, but Hyde was too emotionally cold today.
Hyde, meanwhile was frantically cleaning the self-made wounds on his arm, trying to stop the bleeding and digging through the medicine cabinet trying to find some bandages. Damn, where does he keep them? He frowned a little, unable to find any at all… He’d just have to try to find an excuse to leave, which he knew would be hard, as Gackt was already suspicious… stupid blood.
“Do you want coffee Haido?” Gackt’s voice called from the kitchen.
Hyde opened the bathroom door and walked out to the living room. “I uh… I have to go.” Turning he started to walk towards the front door.
“Hyde?” Gackt hurried from the kitchen to stop him. “What’s wrong?”
He was too slow, the front door was already closed, and Hyde had already left.
“Fuck…” Gackt pulled the door open and stuck his head out, trying to see the smaller man. “Hyde?” He called out, hoping to get the other to come back.
Hyde was nowhere in sight. Gackt frowned a little and walked out the door, not bothering to shut it behind him. He walked quickly, needing to catch up with Hyde. There was no way he was going to leave his friend alone today, he was terrified of what the small man would do to himself.
“Hyde! Wait!” He saw Hyde’s figure pushing its way through the crowds of people who stopped and stared.
Hyde looked back over his shoulder at his name, he saw Gackt and turned, trying to move quicker through the crowds of fangirls who decided to swamp the two singers. Gackt grimaced as fangirls screamed at him, their hands groping and pulling at his clothes. He pushed them away, trying to get to Hyde who’d managed to slip away from the crowd, pausing as he went to turn a corner and looked back at Gackt before looking away and walking away quickly.
Gackt’s shoulders slumped in defeat as he lost sight of Hyde, carefully he excused himself and pushed his way from the throng and walked back home quickly. He’d just have to drive to Hyde’s home and hope he was going there. Quickly Gackt grabbed his car keys and such before striding to the garage and getting in one of his many cars, he drove out of the garage and drove down the street towards Hyde’s home, keeping an eye out for the shorter man in case he was still walking.
Hyde was almost running, a small mob of fans had broken away from mobbing Gackt and was following him, giggling and squealing quietly. He was not in the mood to be mobbed… or bothered… or anything today. It was common knowledge of what today was, so he knew that the fans wouldn’t just be after autographs. That much was obvious from the stupid amount of fan mail from people asking for dates, a few even for marriage. Hyde had stopped reading his mail three months ago… it just started to get too much for him to deal. He couldn’t understand why people just couldn’t leave him to mourn in peace, why they had to try to barge into his life and take Megumi’s place.
He pushed through the doors of his apartment building and crossed the foyer to the elevator, he pressed the call button, and waited impatiently, casting quick glances towards the door. Finally the doors slid open with a cheery ding and he stepped in, poking at the top floor button and watching the doors as they closed. He blinked a little as Gackt’s figure paced quickly across the foyer, their gazes meeting just as the doors closed fully.
“Goddamn it…” Hyde muttered a little as the elevator started to climb upwards.
His arm was still stinging as he stepped out of the elevator and unlocked his door, closing and locking it behind himself. A sigh left his lips as he gazed around the mess he’d been living in, he knew Gackt would want to come inside once he got up, but Hyde wasn’t sure if the taller man should… he didn’t want him to see his state of living. Walking to the bathroom he rummaged about and found some disinfectant and bandages, after he pulled his now ruined shirt off he started to clean the wounds, biting his lip at the burning pain that shot through his arm.
“Haido?” Gackt’s concerned voice called at the door. “Are you okay?”
Hyde frowned a little as he bandaged his arm tightly, securing it, and walking quickly to his bedroom and finding a clean shirt. Gackt was still at the door, knocking at it, calling for him again.
“Yeah, yeah… I’m coming…” He mumbled, picking his way through the mess and opened the door a crack.
“Can I come in?” Gackt asked, a small smile on his face when the door opened and Hyde’s face looked out at him.
“I uhm… I don’t think you should…” Hyde replied softly, his eyes avoiding Gackt’s curious gaze.
“Why not? Come on Hyde, you need at least some company today.” Gackt pushed gently on the door.
Hyde paused. “Just… It’s a real mess in here…”
“I’m not going to judge you Haido. It’s okay. Come on, please just let me in.”
Hyde gave in; those big blue eyes had beaten him. “Fine… just don’t say I didn’t warn you….”
Gackt smiled and pushed the door open more, taking a few steps and pausing. “It’s not that bad Haido… really.”
“Yeah, sure…” A small frown crossed Hyde’s face.
