They stared at each other for a long while, both of them hungrily drinking in the sight of the other. Even though they had only met a few hours before, the thought of saying goodbye, even for the night, was enough to make dread creep up their spines. In a split second, minds were made and lips crashed together in a soft kiss, that only deepened with the passion brewing between them. His strong callused hands came up to grip her waist, before sliding to her back and pulling her flush against him, as her own arms wrapped around his neck. His grip became even tighter when he heard the moan that disappeared down his throat and only when air became a harsh and very raw necessity, did their lips came unglued, but it wouldn’t be for long. Hazy green orbs stared up into his chocolate brown ones, and he felt a very familiar stirring travel through him and settling into his lower regions.
“Do you really have to go?” she asked, her arms dropping from his neck to lay around his broad arms, as they struggled against the material of his dress shirt.
“No.” he replied easily, turning his head to look at his grinning companions, his best friend slash bodyguard, Max, and Fredo the guy he’d hired to drive the both of them around. “I won’t be needing a ride to the hotel tonight…” Vin said, his grin broadening when he heard Kat giggle beside him. “I’ll call you when I need you Max.”
“Awesome, boss.” Max grinned with a nod. “Try to not need me too soon though.” he winked, before sliding into the darkness of the tinted rented car.
Vin and Kat didn’t even wait for the car to disappear before they were already entangled back into the other, and very much on their way inside. As the door was closed and locked, Vin’s hands slid down her back to her bottom and pulled her up until she wrapped her legs around his waist, before he allowed his instinct to lead him to her room, their lips meshed together again. Kat giggled as she felt herself falling into her plush mattress, Vin’s weight over her only a second after.
“You’re beautiful…” his gruff voice murmured in the darkness.
“Mmmm… and you feel just wonderful…” she praised, running her arms up and down his sides.
“And you’ll see just how…” he grinned, his own hands traveling down her body, remembering it all.
Kat moaned under his touch, her body writhing underneath him trying to get far and yet closer to him. He grinned at the pure ecstasy in her face and moved to begin undressing her. When he removed her top, he took the time to kiss her again, before his lips traveled down her neck, stopping to nibble and softly bite the tender skin, then they continued their path south wondering along the valley between her breasts and down to her belly button. He then came across his next obstacle: her jeans. But before he could dispose of them, she’d sat up straight, her legs wrapping around his waist once more as she pushed herself closer to him. Her hands started to undo the buttons on his shirt as her mouth teased and nipped the skin of his neck, his own hands around her waist keeping her safely into place. When the buttons were all open, she pulled the material out of his pants and slid her hands against his bare chest, up his shoulders and down his arms pushing the offending article of clothing off. Then her hands wandered down to his pants, her eyes looked up at him and smiling noticing the bulge, she undid the button and the zipper, allowing her hand to slightly brush against the hardness, receiving a guttural growl and a mild bite on her neck for her efforts.
She groaned under the pain that instantly subsided into pleasure, only to moan when Vin pushed her back on the bed, and pulled her pants off, before stripping himself naked and joining her in the middle of the massive four poster bed. Both of them figured they looked like something right out of one of those somewhat classy, women’s romance books, what with all the white drapes hanging from the bed’s railings flowing and blowing around them as they gave themselves to the other. Kat writhed and moaned under Vin’s expert touch, and after settling between her long, toned legs, he slipped inside her. Both groaned at the point of entry, but instantly settled into a slow, passionate rhythm, that would soon drive them over the edge. Kat’s nails left marks down Vin’s strong back as she moaned into his ear, her orgasm shaking her to her very core and her tightening muscles triggering Vin’s own release. They laid there, in the quiet darkness of her room, accompanied only by the sounds of their erratic breathing, and only wearing each other for warmth.
“I love you…” Vin whispered into her ear, his arms banding tightly around her naked waist as he turned to lay on his back, bringing her on top of him.
“I love you too…” Kat murmured. She closed her eyes and smiled, knowing she meant her words, and having a strong belief that so did Vin. They clung to the other, both exhausted out of their minds, but feeling so perfectly complete, that nothing else mattered but being together now and forever… and then quietly, sleep claimed them.

Vin’s brown eyes stared at the ceiling of his hotel room, but his mind was far away. After leaving Kat at her house, his head had been filled with images of her. Her smile, her hypnotizing green eyes, her perfectly smooth complexion, the way her hand fit in his, the way his body had tingled the moment he kissed her. The image of her surprised eyes staring up at him after their kiss, would be forever burned into his mind. He’d been awake since the dream. It had felt too real and the ache between his legs was proof enough. Never before had he woken up so worked up after having a dream, and it boggled his mind how he was so hung up on a woman he’d just met the day before.
He took a deep breath, still feeling the tingling sensation of having Kat’s naked body flush against his, even if it had been just a dream. He could feel the scratches that her nails had left down his back, and could feel the mild bites on his neck. His entire body ached at the realization that she wasn’t there, and then frustration set in. His eyes stayed glued onto the ceiling, not noticing the light changes from the passing cars, nor the more drastic ones as the sun began to rise in the horizon announcing the birth of a new day. Hollywood was known to be the breeding ground for beautiful women, either naturally or surgically enhanced, and he’d met his fair share of those. But Kat, though amazingly gorgeous, didn’t seem to fit the mold of the Hollywood type girl he was usually attracted to, so why was he so mind numbingly fascinated by her? He had come to Puerto Rico only to work and meet up with some executives, but he found he couldn’t tear his mind away from Kat, nor could he focus on what he actually needed too.
The only thing he wanted at the moment was to call her and see what she would be up to during the day. He would be damned, but he couldn’t leave the Caribbean island without having some bond that would allow him to keep in contact with her. He didn’t understand the ache that gripped his chest, when the fleeting thought of never seeing her again invaded his mind. These thoughts only seemed to confuse him further, keeping his mind so occupied, he didn’t notice the minutes silently slipping by him. Finally, his brown gaze tore away from the ceiling and he noticed that the room was flooded in the morning light, which brought a smile to his lips. He reached for his cellphone and without a glace towards the clock blaring the time to him from the nightstand, he dialed her number and waited for an answer.

Kat woke with a start. The dream she’d just had had felt too real. She had been able to actually feel Vin’s breath on her, his lips, his touch… she could feel him in the room with her, but much to her dismay… he wasn’t really there. She held on tight to her white feather pillow, her green eyes wandering out her window to the clearing sky and her thoughts drifting back to the man she’d met the day before. Her life had been perfect lately, after months of trying out odd jobs here and there out of pure curiosity, she’d finally found one she loved. Happy Party was a great environment to work in, not only did she love partying and decorating, but she loved her co-workers, their attitudes, their personalities. She loved helping people pick out everything they needed to have a rocking party of their own, but most of all, she loved having something to occupy her time with.
Having grown up as the daughter of Gino Black, a renowned real estate mogul, she’d had everything her heart ever desired, and then some. But when she turned sixteen, her life changed completely, her mother Anastacia suddenly passed away, and her being an only child, it meant that save from her father, she was all alone. At eighteen, she’d decided to take her life’s reigns and moved away from the family mansion and into the house where she lived now, a birthday gift from her loving father. After that, some of her friends from the elite all-girls school where she’d grown up, followed suit and joined her in the Caribbean island and they had devoted their time to shopping and their other artistic talents. While Kat focused on writing music and playing piano, Rachel had focused on her painting and drawing skills, Libni had started to pursue a modeling career and Sofia, the only one that kept the ‘school bug’ alive, went on to college pursuing a degree in microbiology.
And now, here had come the object of her fantasies, the epitome of the perfect man in her eyes, to truly rock her world to its very core. She still didn’t know how her feet had carried her to her room after that goodnight kiss he’d given her, but she was quite sure it had only been a miracle that she hadn’t fallen down the stairs and broken her neck. Then her lips turned into a smile as she recalled the dream from which she had just woken up, so cruel and yet so amazing at the same time. She could still feel his arms around her, and closed her eyes, reveling in the awesome feeling it brought. She couldn’t help but wonder where this ‘relationship’ would go. When her phone rang, the first thought that entered her mind was that it would be Vin, but her rational side chucked the offending notion to the side, deciding that it was probably a call from the store, but as she reached for the ringing Motorola Razr, she was pleasantly surprised to realize her first theory had been right on target, for there splayed across the called ID was Vin’s name.
“Hello?” she answered, her raspy morning voice traveling over invisible lines and reaching Vin’s ear a few miles away.
A shivering tremor of pain and pleasure shot through him at the sound of her voice, and he had to close his eyes. He still had to go through the rest of his day, before he’d be able to see her again, and already the wait was killing him. “Good morning, sexy. How are you?” he asked, his own gruff voice traveling back to her.
She couldn’t help but blush hotly at his compliment. “Good, and you?”
“Well, knowing that I just made you blush at 7:27 in the morning, I am doing wonderfully.” Vin chuckled turning to lie on his side, his brown eyes scanning the view out of his hotel window, the city coming to life before his watching gaze.
Kat blushed even a deeper shade of red and let out an almost childish giggle. “Well, thanks, now I don’t have to wear makeup…” she joked.
“Great, you don’t need it anyway.” Vin said truthfully. “So, what are you up to today, besides working?” he asked.
Kat smiled at the inquire and turned to lay on her back, a soft moan escaping her lips. Vin’s heart fluttered at the sound, and he wondered what had triggered it. Then his mind instantly wandered back to the dream he’d had earlier that night and closed his eyes. Oh, how he ached to actually live out that dream.
“Vin?” Kat called again, for a moment worried that the call had fallen through.
“Sorry.” he said clearing his throat. “I got sidetracked there for a second…” he said, debating on whether or not to tell her the dream he’d had.
“I see…” Kat said, pondering over the same answer-less question.
“I know this might sound freaky or somewhat twisted, but I had a dream of the two of us together last night…” Vin finally said.
Kat’s stomach dropped at the confession. She hadn’t been the only one? “Freaky, yes. I had a dream too…” she blurted.
“Really?” Vin asked, comfort again present in his voice.
“Yeah… I guess it was what I really wanted to happen last night…” Kat confessed, feeling the mad rush of hot blood again creep up her cheeks.
All the while, Vin was feeling a blood rush of his own, but his was traveling to another part of him. “Oh, man, Kitty don’t do this to me…” he groaned thickly.
Kat couldn’t help but grin at the endearment term he’d used. In all her life no one had ever called her that, but coming from him, she didn’t mind. “Don’t do what?” she asked with an innocent tone, but it was the smirk she had smack dab across her face what gave her not-so innocent thoughts away.
“You know what you’re doing Kitty…” Vin groaned again. “Such a tease you are… do you know what punishment teases get?”
‘No, but I’m dying to find out!’ Kat thought and giggled, her hand flying up to her mouth, but unable to hide the sound.
“Oh, so you think I’m joking, huh?” Vin asked with a smirk of his own.
“No… no…” Kat said shaking her raven-haired head against her pillow.
“Yeah, yeah…” Vin nodded, then the beep signaling he had another call made his stomach drop. He needed to cut the call short, but Kat did him the favor.
“Listen I have to get ready for work, so I’ll let you get that…” she started, her tone serious now. “If you want maybe you can give me a call after I’m done at the store and we’ll see about hanging out…”
“I would love that…” Vin said, cutting her off. “But last night we were getting stared at an awful lot.” he said, his lips forming into a pout.
“Well, umm… maybe I could cook us dinner and we can rent a movie or something…” Kat suggested biting down on her lower lip.
“That sounds amazing!” Vin exclaimed as he sat up straight, his day looking brighter by the second.
“Okay…” Kat giggled. “We’ll set up a time later…”
“Okay…” Vin said sadly.
“We’ll talk later.” Kat’s voice promised and he wished she was there with him.
“Okay…” was all he could repeat before the call was through.

Kat stared numbly at the phone in her hands, the feeling of utter incompletion creeping up into her, gripping her in its strong and unwanted embrace. She sighed sadly, flipping the phone closed as she literally jumped out of her bed. She reached for the long white silk robe laying on the back of her makeup chair and covered her naked body with it, before heading into the master bathroom. A few minutes later, she re-emerged, her hair up into a messy bun at the top of her head, feeling much more awake now. Her bare feet carried her down the white wood stairs and followed the path to the all-white kitchen. After brewing herself a cup of tea, she opened the doors that accessed her patio and walked out into the morning sun’s warmth. The cold breeze enveloped her in a hug as she sat down on one of the bulky off-white couches, her legs curling up beside her as she enjoyed the cup of tea she nursed in her hands, her mind back on Vin. It was going to be one hell of a long day for the both of them, she noticed. Then her mind wandered to what she had promised him. She was going to cook him dinner.
“Shit. But what?” she asked out loud.
She recalled having read on the internet that he loved Italian food, being half Italian himself and so her decision was easily made. But she needed to go to the grocery store, she decided, and after the cup in her hands was empty, she got up from her seat with a sigh and headed back inside her kitchen. She made a list of all the things she would need, before getting dressed and ready to leave her house. The first thing in her pick up list was her poor baby, Bella. After making sure her house was completely locked and safe, Kat grabbed the keys to her white Mercedes Benz SUV and headed out. The black ball of fluff flew at her the second the Balinese cat’s green eyes had landed on her master, the veterinary assistant laughing at the scene.
“Sheesh, anyone would guess we were mistreating her or something.” the assistant laughed, making Kat laugh along.
“Well, my baby knows who mama is.” Kat cooed, rubbing the cat behind her ears, while hugging her to her body. Oh, how she had missed her kitty. The word instantly jolted her mind back to Vin and she felt a stir inside her. She couldn’t wait to see him again.
.::~::~::.
Unknown to her, Vin was feeling just the same thing, and he too stared at his phone, the disconnected message flashing in front of his eyes for a second before the other call was given more importance. With a rumbling growl he accepted the incoming call and put the phone back to his ear, the offender’s voice greeting him as he harshly pulled the covers back and got his naked body out of the bed. After he was able to hang up the phone, he tossed it on top of the nearby dresser and headed for his much needed cold shower. The cold water hit his face, waking him up and giving him a helpful break of the thoughts that had been boggling his mind since the dream the night before. When he was awake enough and his ’problem’ had been resolved by the cold harshness of the water rushing out of the shower head, he got out and got ready. Max had already filled him in into that day’s agenda, he had the last meeting today, and afterwards, he still had two weeks before he was due back in the states. Two weeks he planned spending solely with Kat… if she would have him.
Breakfast came and went and before he knew it, he was sitting in the back seat of the car, Max beside him, Fredo laughing quietly with a spanish radio morning show. Vin felt the morning already moving to a slug’s pace as the car moved through the bustling business streets of Puerto Rico’s metropolitan area, where he was to have his meeting. He shifted in his seat in anticipation. He was so ready to have the meeting be over and done with, just so he’d be able to call Kat up and set up a time for their date. A grin spread across his lips at the realization. That sneaky hot little kitten had tricked him into a date without him noticing. Oh, but he would enjoy it and he would make sure she did so too. His mind never wandered away from what he imagined happening between them, until he found himself having to shake another man’s hand. Instantly he jolted into his business state, as he was lead to the elegant conference room and showed to his seat, Max sitting right beside him. The reunion started moments later and Vin’s attention swerved again. The whole point of it all was for him to consider locations and therefore local talents for his latest movie, and since Max was there taking down notes, he figured he didn’t really have to pay attention, and that notion alone shocked him. He’d never met anyone that distracted him from business meetings, even less if they had something to do with plans for future movies, but this Kat, was seriously messing with his brain. What was he to do?

Kat parked the white MB SUV and waited for the garage door to fully close before opening her door. As she feared, Bella jumped out instantly and after sniffing a bit here and there, came back to stretch herself against her master’s legs.
“I know…” Kat giggled down at her as she grabbed a few of the bags of groceries she’d just bought.
Bella was a regular grocery shopper, Mr. Antonio, the store owner waited for her faithfully every time Kat showed up, and when she didn’t bring Bella along, well, let’s say he just wasn’t his usual happy self. Oh, but today he’d gotten his one-two bonus, not only had Kat brought Bella, but Sofia had brought her Shih-tzu, Princess, as well.
“Listen Bella…” Kat started, as she carried the bags into the kitchen, waiting until the cat looked up at her before continuing. “We’re going to have company tonight, so I need you to be on your best behavior… don’t ruin this for mommy, please?”
The cat only meowed up at her master, before strutting away, much like a spoiled brat. Kat only shook her raven-haired head and stole a glance at her cellphone, willing it to ring and for it to be Vin. After the groceries were put away correctly, she decided starting on the dessert. She pulled her Hello Kitty apron from the inside of the coat closet just beside the refrigerator and put it on, tying it behind her back with a bow. She started opening the cans, and reached for the remote control of her home stereo, putting on some music. After pouring everything into the blender, she turned it on, drowning away the sound of her ringing phone.
.::~::~::.
Vin growled impatiently before hanging up the phone and tossing it on the chair in front of him. Where the hell was Kat and why wasn’t she answering her phone?
“Something wrong?” Max asked knowingly, a sly smirk on his face.
“Nothing.” Vin growled, plopping down on another chair, only sparing Max a side glance. He was caught. He knew it.
“What has gotten you so worked up?” Max asked. “Maybe Miss Kat isn’t answering her phone?” he asked again, a knowing grin on his face.
“No, she isn’t answering… where the hell could she be?” Vin asked.
Max knew the game he could play with his boss slash best friend and seeing his opportunity went for the kill. “Don’t know, maybe she’s with her boyfriend or something.” he shrugged, leaning back in his chair, watching how Vin’s face reacted to his comment.
“What?” Vin roared jumping to his feet and staring down at his unflinching friend, his stomach dropping at the theory.
“What are you talking about?!” Max simply sighed, trying his best to hold his laughter in. “Well, Miss Kat is mighty pretty, Vin. Did you ever think of asking her if she was single? I wouldn’t find it hard to believe if she wasn’t…”
Vin shook his head. “No! It can’t be!” he said snatching his phone back from the chair and redialing her phone. “She can’t have a boyfriend! She let me kiss her last night!!” Just when he was starting to believe Max, and starting to believe that Kat was simply another gold digger, her voice greeted him from the other end.
“Hey…” Kat said, sounding breathless.
Vin raised an eyebrow. “Hey… um, I’ve been trying to call you and you never answered.”
“Oh, gosh, really?” she asked sounding completely and truly ashamed. “I’m sorry, I was just making the dessert for tonight’s dinner and… probably the blender’s sound drowned the sound of the phone. I’m so sorry.”
“Oh…” Vin sighed in relief, sending a warning glare towards Max who simply shrugged in his seat. He finally realized that Max had only been playing him and for that, he would pay. “And what are we having for dessert tonight?” he asked, motioning for Max to leave him alone.
It was Max’s undoing, and he let loose all of his roaring laughter as he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. Vin could only shake his head, he knew he hadn’t been wrong about Kat.
“Well, I’m making my special cheesecake, I hope it’s okay.” Kat said, hope clearly present in her voice.
“Absolutely…” Vin said softly, as he sat back in his chair.
“Oh, awesome…” Kat smiled, placing the cheesecake into the oven and turning to lay against the kitchen aisle, as she held onto her cellphone tight.
“So, what time is it that you get off from work?” Vin asked, his eyes dropping close as he waited for her reply, imagining that she was right there with him and whispering in his ear.
“Well, I’m supposed to be out by four, but seeing that it’s Friday, chances are that the main cashier that’s supposed to come after me, might be absent, in which case the manager will more than likely ask me with puppy dog eyes that he needs me to stay until, say eight or nine, so I really don’t know…” she said smirking. She knew for sure she was getting out at four, no matter what. And Vin caught onto her joking tone.
“Oh, you better be off by four…” he warned.
“Or else?” Kat asked teasingly.
“Well, you’d find out.” Vin promised, then laughed. “Anyway… what do you say about six?”
“I can make five if you want…” Kat suggested.
“Well, five would be most perfect!” Vin exclaimed, and laughed.
“Well, dinner will be served at five Mr. Diesel.” Kat giggled.
“See you at five, Kitty.” Vin said, not really wanting to hang up, but knowing both had some things to do before they could meet.
“See you at five.” Kat smiled. “Take care.”
“Bye.” Vin said and finally hung up.
Then both realized with sad and weighing hearts that the second they had stopped hearing the other’s voice, the incomplete feeling had filled them up again.
