Alexis looked up from the books lying in her lap, bored out of her mind. "Poppa Bear, I give up on these numbers. Can I go grab some grub?"
Vince looked up from his desk at his daughter and smiled. "Yeah go ahead. Be cafeful."
"Dad you act like I can't walk around the back!"
"Well it's your first summer on the road and you don't know many people..."
"Dad! Jeez I'll be okay! Really! Trust me for two seconds will you?"
Vince laughed and looked down at his paper's again. "Go ahead."
She got off a couch in his temporary office at the arena and kissed his cheek. She walked out the door and down the hall.
Alexis Maddison McMahon didn’t look like Vince or Linda McMahon or her brother and sister very much at all. Vince had had an affair, resulting in Alexis. The woman ended up not wanting the child she and Vince had made. Before the woman went through with the planned adoption Linda had stepped in, adopting Alexis as her own. Shane and Alexis had always gotten along, all 17 years of her life. Stephanie and Alexis were another story.... Now at 17 she was on the road for the summer with her family for the first time. These were the days when WWE was still the WWF, when Stone Cold was still the #1 draw, before Stephanie married Hunter, before she met him....
Alexis got in line for some food and as soon as she got to the end of the line she noticed there were no drinks. "Crap," she said, realizing she should have known the men would all go for the food and drinks before she got there. Looking around, she noticed a vending machine out the door and walked out to it. She balanced her plate as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a dollar bill. After her best attempt to flatten it she put it in and pressed the Coke button. Nothing happened, causing her to groan in frustration. She pressed all of them but still nothing happened. "Great just great..."
"Here..."
Someone behind her pushed the Coke button hard and a bottle of Coke came out. Alexis went to bend down and get it and so did the person. When she looked up and the first thing to catch her attention was the kindest, brightest smile she had ever seen. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson felt his heart skip a couple beats.
Alexis smiled and took the Coke bottle out of his hands. "Thanks," she said.
"No problem... I'm..."
"Dwayne. You’re... sorry I guess I should have let you finish. I’m Alexis. Alexis McMahon."
"You... really?"
"Yes siree. In the flesh. Just call me Alex though...Well..."
Neither could stop starring at each other. He was stunned. Auburn long hair. Light brown eyes. Legs that went on for days. He had heard talk about how beautiful she was, the boss’s 17 year old daughter who was always home, away from the business. There were plenty of wrestlers that claimed they were waiting for her to turn 18 which happened to be in 3 weeks to "bang her brains out" as they called it. But he wasn't ready to meet her... and see everyone was right.
Dwayne had been married to Dani for a couple years now. Lately they hadn't been on the best terms however. They were pretty much separated, without making it official. But that was far from his mind now.
Dwayne finally smiled at her, "Need help?"
"Nah, I'm a big girl I can carry it."
"Okay..."
"So... Um, you are doing really well... In the company. Dad is really happy with your work."
"Really?" He asked.
"Really... Well I'll see you later. Gatta help my dad out with those numbers."
She smiled and walked away. Her heart was racing. This was the first time she had ever met someone and felt like that at the same time. She shook her head. "Not gonna happen..."

“Screw beans... I knew I was a number off... Sorry Daddy I’ll redo it.”
“Don’t worry too much, not like I gave you the most important things to do. I know better.” Vince gave a hearty laugh at Alexis’ pout. “Go find that brother and sister of yours. Tell them I need them outside with me in 15. Stephanie should still be getting ready as usual....”
“Duh,” Alex said simply, leaving the room with a laugh. Didn’t take her long to Shane, sitting on a bench in a dressing room with his wife, Alexis’ sister-in-law, Marissa and Paul, or as Alexis loved to call him, Hunter, better known as HHH. “Shaney, Dad says he needs you and Steph. Where is she?”
Shane looked up and smiled at his sister. If he had to choose his favorite sister it would be his short, sweet, adorable sister Alex. He could remember the day she had been brought home, a small sweet little girl and not the best friend brother he had been looking for. It didn't matter in the end however because she had still ended up being his tomboy sister. Not too tomboyish however. He could remember the pink dresses and bows and ballet lessons. Atleast there were also baseball games and video games. “Dad can wait.”
“Sure he can... Marissa?”
“Go Shane.” Marissa laughed pushing Shane to stand up.
“Darn it, take her side sweetheart why don’t you....” He kissed Alexis’ cheek and left the dressing room, followed by Marissa. Alex looked at Hunter with a smile.
“Ready for your match tonight?”
“I was born ready beautiful.” He laughed at the red that had rushed onto her tan cheeks. “Come here Alex. How was school this year?” Alexis sat down next to him, letting her head rest on his shoulder. Hunter and Alexis from the moment they had met had a close relationship. He was her friend, someone she could call when things made her mad, when Vince got too overprotective, when Steph made her mad.
“Boring. Atleast I graduated. Thank God for that. Momma was baaaaaaaaaawling.”
“College?”
“Same as Shane and Steph. Boston University... I wanted to go to Berkley....”
“Berkley?”
“Yeah... Dad wasn't too excited about that though. Wanted me to go to Boston. Don't ask why.”
Suddenly someone opened the door. Stephanie stood in the doorway with her hands on her hips. Alexis quickly lifted her head off of Hunter’s shoulder. Stephanie and Hunter had been seeing each other privately, only Alexis knew and only due to catching them together a week before outside their home. Stephanie had made her swear not to say anything due to the fact that Hunter was still technically dating Chyna, something Alex hated to cover for her. Their relationship had never exactly been perfect, Stephanie never getting over that her half sister was not only the sparkle in Vince's eye but Linda's as well. “Boston is a good university Alex,” Stephanie said, obviously bothered by Alex’s head on Hunter’s shoulder.
“Yeah I know. I’m not complaining Steph. Dad is looking for you.”
“I know that thanks.” Stephanie made the type of motion towards the door, letting Alexis know exactly what she wanted her to do. Alex sighed as she got up and without saying bye closed the door behind her. She could hear Stephanie’s voice rise beyond the door and she shook her head and headed back to the office.
As she walked she felt herself slam into someone and looking up she saw the same smile that had caught her eye earlier. “Hi Dwayne.”
“Sorry about that....”
“No my fault, I was day dreaming.... Didn’t see where I was going. ”He studied her again, feeling as if he were falling into a deep black hole. He didn’t know which way was up and he was falling fast. “Um... Dwayne?,” she said with a small laugh. He snapped out of the spell he was under and smiled at her.
“Done helping Vince?”
“Yeah. Had to go find Steph and Shane.” She started to walk again, Dwayne by her side apparently forgetting he was on his way to his dressing room to prepare.
~~~~
“BED!!! A nice comfy bed to make me veeeeeeeeeeery happy....” Alexis landed flat on her back onto her bed as Shane threw her purse on her bed and Vince walked around the room a bit.
“Alex you’ll be fine in your own room?”
“Dad.... Shane, please?”
“She’ll be fine, she’s a big girl now.”
Alex sighed and sat up, crossing her arms across her chest. “Thanks Bro, lot of help....”
“No no, in all honesty, she’ll be fine Dad.” Vince looked at the two of them and shook his head with a small smile.
“Okay... Well my room is two doors down and Shane and Steph are on either side of you. If you need anything just come and get us. You know how to order--”
“Room service? Duh Daddy. Can you guys let me shower and stuff now?” Vince and Shane laughed and after kissing Alex good night they left the room, of course not without first reminding her to lock her door. After the door was locked and she was alone Alex pulled off all her clothes and ran towards the bathroom turning on the shower and slipping in. As soon as the water hit her she slid down onto the floor to sit, her back against the wall. “Damn it,” she said to herself, thinking. She had spent 2 hours in Dwayne’s locker room just talking to him, laughing. He brain couldn’t wiggle him out, not that she was trying all. But from her knowledge he was married and anyways she was 17. But most importantly he was married.
----
Dwayne pressed his forehead against his palms as he looked down at a now broken cellphone. “Damn it Dani....” They had been fighting again, this time about the fact that they were separated and what did it mean for them. The fighting had gotten so bad he just couldn’t think anymore. All he wanted was to laugh. That’s when he could remember her laugh, Alex’s laugh. It was the loudest and sweetest laugh he had ever heard. If that laugh couldn’t make his night, nothing could.
----
As Alex slid on a shirt she heard a knock at the door. She groaned in anger and walked towards the door, ready for a fight. “Look Daddy I know you are being protected and all but--”
“Daddy?,” Dwayne laughed as she opened the door.
“Dwayne? What... um, hi?” She felt her mouth go dry and her stomach started to do flip flops as she moved out of his way as he walked past her into her room. “I wasn’t expecting... well to see you until... well....”
He turned to look at her standing there, the smell of shampoo and soap lingered in the room. His instincts were trying to take over, it was the first time in a long time he had been this attracted to anyone who wasn’t his wife and he wanted very badly to take Alex. But there he was in her bedroom, not exactly sure what had made him go there. And there she was, breathing deeply and feeling her body flush over with the thoughts running through her head. “I...,” she finally spoke, in efforts to end the uncomfortable silence between them, “Well I’m hungry.... Food? I mean want to order in? Have you eaten?” She smiled playfully, “It’s on my Daddy!” Dwayne let a laugh escaped him, glad the thoughts had disappeared and things had gotten comfortable.
“Pass me the menu.”
----
When Alexis woke up on the sofa with her head on Dwayne’s shoulder her mind raced. Looking around the food they had ordered was on the coffee table and a blanket was on her. She remembered watching a movie and passing out. And now there she was. Looking at him she realized just how much she was starting to like him and what she had learned the night before.
----
“I’m so sorry Dwayne.... Does my father know about this?”
“Nah, no one does... well except for you now. Oh and I told Paul a couple days ago. Alex really, I’ll be fine. Dani and I just needed to separate. If it works out, it works out. If not... well we tried... right?”
“Dwayne really....”
“I love her, trust me I do Alex. But there's just alot of problems we have had since the beginning and now... well now we see if we make it through I guess.”
----
Alex shook her head and sighed, resting her head back down on his shoulder. There was just no way she had a chance.
