Hey we're back again!!!! we had so much fun writing the first chapter that the second one was written even quicker!! please review and let us know what you think.
"Hey again." Ville grinned wryly as he sat down on the barstool in front of Heavenleigh.
"Hey, back so soon?! I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away from me!!" She teased, twirling strands of her purple hair around her fingers.
He grinned at her as she refilled his glass. She was a sweet girl and he almost found it a shame that his heart belonged somewhere else.
"Yeah, me and Mige had an argument and I thought I'd get out the way before it turned into a fight."
"Aaw never mind, think of it this way. Now you get to spend quality time with me!" She replied, winking at him playfully.
"Wow, this has to be my lucky night then!" Ville was flattered by her flirting although something had changed in it. Before, when they'd first come in, the flirting was filled with sexual undertones and she wasn't shy about showing it. Now though, it was more friendly flirting than anything else.
"You better believe it! It's not often we get sexy guys in here as you can tell!" She gestured round the room and Ville chuckled as he took in the sight of about six drunken old men about to pass out.
"What? This fine selection and you're still not happy?!"
"I guess I'm fussy!"
She excused herself to go and serve another customer at the other end of the bar and Ville took the time to look back round at his table. He frowned as he took in the sight, Bam wasn't back.
"He not back yet?" The question was casual but Ville could detect an undertone in the voice that he didn't quite understand.
"Who?" He turned to find an unconvinced Heavenleigh leaning on the bar, watching him.
"Who, my ass. You know exactly who I'm talking about. Your skater boy."
"His name's Bam and he's not mine." Ville told her, a hint of wistfulness in his voice
"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were a couple."
"If you thought we were a couple, then why were you flirting with me?"
"Hey, I can appreciate a good looking guy when I see them can't I?" Heavenleigh replied with mock indignation "And if they happen to be in a relationship with another guy then although it may be heartbreaking for me, I've got to say you two are a sexy looking couple!"
She giggled as he blushed. "We're not a couple."
"Do you wanna be?"
"WHAT?!" Shock made his voice come out a lot higher pitched than normal and it made her giggle again.
"No, of course not, he's my friend." He stuttered out, hoping she wouldn't notice he was lying through his teeth.
"Oh good, I was hoping you weren't cos my friend Sara, the other girl thats working here tonight, she really thinks he's hot and now we know you aren't interested in him she can ask him out."
"No she can't. Stay the hell away from MY bam." He growled, without thinking.
"Your Bam?!" Heavenleigh laughed leaning against the counter.
"What?"
"you said, 'No she can't. Stay the hell away from MY bam' I thought you weren't interested!" She smirked at him and Ville knew he'd been set up.
"Your friend isn't interested in Bam is she?" He asked with a sigh.
"Nope! She thinks he's cute but he's not really her type. It got you to admit your feelings though!"
"And what good is that gonna do? Mige keeps on at me about hiding my feelings as well but how is it going to help things? If I tell him, I'm gonna lose a friend."
"What makes you so sure? How do you know it won't work out well?" She asked, and for some reason Ville found himself trusting her with his secret and he decided that maybe it wouldn't hurt to talk to someone that wasn't quite as close to both of them.
"He's straight. He always has been. He saw a picture of me kissing one of my friends, Jussi at a festival we did and he laughed and acted disgusted. Can you imagine how bad it would be if I told him that I wanted to kiss him like that?"
"OH MY FUCKING GOD." She exclaimed. "I've never had much patience and this is why- It's too annoying! It's a good job you're pretty cos you're really dumb!"
"hey, no need for insults sweetheart." Ville pouted
"I'm sorry but haven't you wondered why he got up and left so suddenly or why he hasn't come back yet? It's cos he's crazy about you and it hurt him seeing you flirting back with me."
"Yeah right. How do you know that?"
"Your friend told Sara. The guy in the red hat? He knows and it's so obvious a blind person could see it, but you're so busy sitting here feeling bad for yourself that you haven't noticed."
Ville felt like he'd been slapped in the face as he realized how blind he'd been. Loads of different memories rushed back to him where Bam had said and done things that had hinted at how he felt but Ville had been so wrapped up in convincing himself that Bam wasn't interested that he'd interpreted them as friendly gestures and nothing else.
He jumped off his seat quickly. "I have to go and talk to him."
"Woah, wait up romeo. He's really upset at the moment, let Sara talk to him."
"But..."
"But nothing. He's not gonna want you to see him like that, it'll upset him more, trust me, I know what I'm talking about."
Reluctantly Ville sat back down and cradled his drink allowing Bam his time alone. He couldn't help but be thrilled though at the prospect that he might finally have the chance to hold Bam and tell him how much he meant to him.
*****************************************Meanwhile***************************************************************
Bam rested his hands on the cold, white sink before him. The mirror confirmed what he'd feared he would look like.
Yup, like he'd cried. The watery, puffy eyes, the red fucking reindeer nose, plus the streaks down his face. The complete picture. Fucking brilliant.
He tried to wash away some evidence with cold water that soaked some strands of his hair and made his mascara run. Damnit, it only made it worse!
The paper towels got rid of the black stains on his cheeks, which was at least something, but he still looked like crap. Not that it was a big difference anyway. He looked like crap for weeks now….months maybe. He didn’t want to comb his hair anymore, or shave his face every single day. Alright he had today, but that was because he would see Ville and…..Fuck!
And the spark in his eyes was gone. The smile he smiled was a fake one. Ever since he had realized Ville was….
Goddamnit he didn’t even want to think about it anymore. All this, his feeling for Ville and seeing him like this here, and every where else, it was killing him. It was making him weaker and unhappier than he'd ever been.
And no one knew…no one could see his pain. He could fucking run out crying and no one would notice. Because no one thought he, Bam Margera, was ever serious about anything anyway. He was joke. A funny, tough guy who never cried, and never felt sad. Or alone.
Fucking hell…..
He carelessly threw his shoulder again the door to open it, and walked back into the hallway that led to the restrooms and back to the bar, only to come face to face with a familiar looking woman who leaned against the opposite wall with crossed arms and a frown on her young face.
**Great now what?!**
“Hi, are you alright?” She asked him, standing up straight and slowly walking up to him. She didn’t smile at him, or unfolded her arms, and she definitely wasn’t coming on to him either. That was often the case.
No, this one just frowned and looked had him a little worried. Or more confused.
She didn’t seem unkind, but not sugary sweet like he was used to.
He wiped back some of his brown curls, and narrowed his eyes at bit, hoping she would also be fooled by his I-am-fine-as-always act.
He suddenly recognised her as the girl behind the bar who had served them, and he felt a little irritated that she thought she had the right to come here and bother him with stupid questions. It was none of her business how he was.
**Better shake her off gently. She is a girl after all.**
“Fine, now could you please move and let me through.”
Ok, that wasn’t as gently as it should have been. Her eyes flashed angrily and her lips pursed, but she took a step to the side and he quickly passed with his head held up high. Are you alright…phuh, He would show her he was just fine.
“Say hi to your boyfriend from me.”
He came to a quick halt, catching her comment before he had left the hall, and turned around to face her again. The confidence in his face replaced by wide, shocked eyes and an open mouth.
When a little smile appeared on her face, his frown quickly returned, and he glared at her, putting his hand on his hip and trying too look annoyed instead of surprised.
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
……
Damnit.
It was supposed to come out angry. Surprised even. Offended. But her eyes pierced right through him, and he couldn’t lie. He couldn’t hold back the sob in his throat, or keep in the small tear in the corner of his eye.
Damn her being so unexpectedly straight forward with him. Damn her for seeing what no one saw.
Sara let out a sigh, her face softening and her arms dropping. “I know, Bam. I saw you.” She spoke softly, nodding her head and walking up to him once again.
Bam just took another step back, frown returning and angrily wiping away his single tear.
“Know what? Saw what?”
“Your pain. And your love….for him.”
“Shut up.” Bam hissed through his teeth, obviously very uncomfortable. But Sara didn’t flinch.
“You love him, I figured it out two seconds after you came in.” Was all she said, still calm and with a little smile. Bam’s eyes just rested on anything but her, as he shoulders slumped a little.
“No one ever sees. Why do you?” He finally spoke, smiling a little when she giggled and stepped closer to him, placing a comforting hand on his arm. He finally noticed he only reached to her shoulder. That was how tall she was.
“I’m a girl. Maybe that helps.” She shrugged, and Bam let out the sigh he'd been holding in.
The cat was out of the bag, and even though that thought was scary, it felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
“He likes the girl behind the bar. The one with the purple hair.” He mumbled after a little pause, and slid down against the stone wall to sit on the dark wooded floor. Combing his fingers trough his hair and patting the spot beside him, inviting her to join him.
“Does he now?” Was all Sara asked, sitting down on the floor next to him, and leaning back against the wall.
They both stared up the ceiling, before Bam’s head turn toward her, looking at her with finally only truth in his eyes.
“No he doesn’t. I’m sure he likes her, but he doesn’t…you know…’Like’ her. He always does this. He flirts with everyone who shows interest in him. And a lot of people do. Cheap slut.” Sara chuckled when Bam cursed, and gave him an apologizing smile when he sighed.
“You love him.” It wasn’t a question.
“I do.”
‘Then tell him.” Sara almost fell to the side when Bam aggressively turned his body towards her with eyes that shot fire.
“Are you retarded! Haven’t you paid any attention to him out there. He doesn’t want me.”
He yelled, making Sara cover her ear with on hand and flinch as she tried to created some more distance between them.
“How do you know. Have you asked him?”
“No, I don’t have to. I just know.”
“No you don’t. You told me, Ville isn’t interested in the people he flirts with. But he is a human being, and he needs love. Fucking sappy, I know, but it’s true. Find out who he wants it from. That’s your answer.” Sara shrugged, like it was the simplest thing in the world, and Bam wondered if this girl was a little nuts. She made a good point yeah, but he couldn’t just ask Ville this, could he?...No!
“And what if I don’t want to know.” He dared her, knowing he would want to puke and cry and possibly die, if Ville named anyone else but him to that question. And he wouldn’t say his name, he was sure of that. So yeah, he was better off not knowing.
“Come on now, what have you got to loose?” Sara just asked him with a little smile, trying to crawl off the floor and stand up….finally succeeding after falling back on her ass twice.
“Uuuh, Geez, I don’t know…. My friendship with Ville! Thing will change. For the better or the worse…and I’m guessing the worse. Things would never be the same again between us.”
Bam scowled, still sitting on the floor as Sara towered over him.
“Oh Bam, haven’t they already changed?”
Was all she said, before smiling and walking to the door that lead back to the bar. Bam opened his mouth to reply, but found he had nothing to say.
She paused in front of it and turned around one last time.
“Talk to him.” Was all she said before disappearing again.
