That night after Pete had asked me about the job offer, I found myself pacing around in my dorm. Marta was sitting in a chair a few feet from me reading, “Come on Ron kiss her already!” she said loudly into her book. Then said, “Diana what’s going on with you?” from behind her book. Oh yeah like I can talk to her about this. “Um, there is this guy who comes into my work a lot lately, and he wants me to go work with him and his friends,” I began to tell her as much as I thought she’d believe, she cut me off, “That sounds fishy to me, some guy you just met…”, I then cut her off, “look I know him, kind of,” Here goes nothing, “he’s Pete…and Mikey!”. “You just love your fantasies don’t you!” she replied.
That night as I was lying in bed, I took my I-pod out from under my pillow and listened to all of the old MCR and Fall Out Boy songs I could. I don’t know why but there’s something special about the older songs. As I finished up the Saturday song I drifted off to sleep. The next morning as I was waking up, I looked at the ceiling and decided on my answer. Yes, I knew exactly what I was going to tell Pete and Mikey and everyone else on this tour.
So I was in the back room of Guitar World when I was called up to the front. I knew it had to be Mikey or Pete coming for my answer. I glanced over to my fully stuffed work locker that had all the bags and crap that I would be bringing on tour with me. Now that I’ve made up my mind I think I’ll have a little fun messing with their heads. As I walked out of the back room I saw Mikey waiting for me, aw this might be a little too sad to do but I can’t resist.
Putting on my most blank face I said “Hi Mikey” “Hey” he said taking a quick glance into my eyes then looked elsewhere. Wow, I just looked behind Mikey though the big glass windows and saw two huge tour buses waiting outside. I was jumping for joy on the inside but didn’t let anything show on the outside. “Look Mikey, I know you guys really need someone, but I just can’t leave this job I have now, I know you guys will all understand why I can’t come with you all on tour.” I half smiled then turned to go back to work.
I felt a hand grab my arm right as I turned around, and had to turn back around. Mikey looked right into my eyes, “Please come with us,” he looked so desperate and so sexy. Oh god this wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be. “Mikey I have all my bags packed in the back room, I was just playing around a little, and hell yeah I want to come on tour with you and everyone, if you’ll just help me carry all my stuff!” I finished telling him smiling like an idiot. He was smiling too but to me he just looked hot.
As we were carrying all my bags out through the store to the buses, I heard Mikey say, “playing around huh, we’ll see who will be playing around…” He said it under his breath like he didn’t want me to hear, but I heard every word. Pete came out of his tour bus and grabbed a heavy bag I had in my hands. “Here let me” he said, giving me a flash of his smile. I then blushed like a fool, he joined Mikey in the bus and I was left outside looking up at this huge tour bus I would be living in for the next two months. And I thought to myself, I better get a hold on my feelings that I have for these two certain bass players or things might get messy.
